Went on a hot summer Monday and there were minimal crowds. We loved seeing all of the animals. Disappointing that many kiosks were closed, but it must not be beneficial to open with such a quiet park. We will definitely be back!

Brew at the zoo was a very cool experience. Pity the very limited animal exhibits were only open til 7:30. Which was only a half hour after the drinks were poured. Otherwise, the selection was very varied and well selected. Cool addition of halloween themed events and attractions. I would definitely recommend.

Come for the zoo, stay for the Bronx! Really, this place is amazing. The more dated exhibits are charming throwbacks, and the newer installations are meticulously crafted. Maybe one day they will figure out how to serve food faster in the food court - the only major drawback there.

Cool place to come with the children. I brought my children over the summer on donation Wednesdays. They had a good time. The food is very expensive so eat before you come. I paid for the experience passes for the kids, it was nice.

The great thing about Bronx Zoo is that it's pay by donation on Wednesdays and the guides scattered around different exhibits are super informative. However, many outdoor exhibits were empty, so I would suggest heading into the different houses (reptile house, bird house, etc) to see more animals. The selection of animals were very interesting and unique.

Liked the zoo specifically reptiles world. But most of the animals were not visible as they were hiding in their resting places. We and so many people like us could only hear the roar of lions as they were hiding.

It was alright, better than the zoos in CT. But overall zoos, seeing animals in captivity is over hyped. Not to mention the lack of rest rooms and the poor hygiene of the few that exist. Be better off pissing in the bushes.

We love this zoo! Our favorite exhibit is the Congo exhibit where they have the silverbacks. Amazing to watch how they interact with one another, including their babies! If you go on a Wednesday you will be able to get free general admission to the zoo, you just have to pay for certain exhibits. We paid $6 (per person) to get into the Congo exhibit. Totally worth it! Overall great experience, kids loved it, definitely recommend!

This zoo is beautiful and has some amazing animals to see. Highlights would be the sea lions and the reptile house. Admission is free on Wednesdays, so there is nothing to lose to check this place out.

A very big zoo, especially for New York. I do like how it's completely separated from the hustle and bustle of the big city. I don't know why, but when I went on Friday, all the stores were closed, which kind of sucked. But it was still good to see all the animals, stuff like the Los Angeles and San Diego Zoo don't have. Good variety. And unlike most places in New York, I wouldn't mid going here again.

The Bronx Zoo is a phenomenal institution. The conservational work they do is far reaching, the educational initiatives are inspiring the next generation, and the facility itself is a world class attraction.

Getting in was actually just like a traffic jam on the Cross Bronx Expressway.

Also no sign posted to prepare your necessities for entrance. Poor customer service getting in long delay and only two lanes.

Always a great place to take kids. Various different animals at this zoo. The polar bear is no longer there which is sad but it's alright. The zoo is free on Wednesday! But that means schools and ir summer camps will be there. Food is expensive I'd say pack a lunch there are benches at the top of the zoo that's if you enter from the Asia Gate. Bring plenty of water ! Especially in the hotter seasons !

I can come here a million times and never get tired of this place. I finally got a membership since I come so often. Keeps the kids busy and entertained and me as well. My son loves the giraffes and adores the camel Joshua, he specifically requests to only ride Joshua. Great place and love the new climb and trek!

Fantastic place to spend the day. You can almost forget that you're in the city. There is a great children's zoo that offers the opportunity for play and a terrific Nature Trek that allows kids to climb and cross bridges and explore.

The guide was informative and entertaining. He pointed out the locations of various animals and also provided interesting facts about individual zoo animals. The exhibit itself has a good selection of Asian animals.

Real old fashion Zoo. Wide open spaces outdoors. Great for kids with energy. Real exotic animals like giraffes, lions and grizzly bears.

Food is ripoff awful -- lots of salt, sugar and fats. No healthy food. Need to rebid caterer. Cheap food high prices. Otherwise terrific zoo. Food cost them a star.

We really enjoyed our experience at the zoo eventhough a lot of the exhibits were closed due to covid-19 precautions. Occupancy was limited which meant no crowding. There were plenty of sanitation stations available and staff cleaned equipment between uses on the carousel and monorail.

This is a fabulous zoo!! I had never been here before and it was a real treat. Be aware that if you get the most basic ticket it doesn't get you into all the cool extra things. You can buy a ticket that includes everything and that's what we did. The monorail was really awesome. The exhibits were all really well done except for the giraffe exhibit. They had 6 in a small indoor enclosure, I'm hoping they had an outdoor area and we just missed it. But all the other exhibits were fantastic. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out!! Food is reasonable price, alcohol is available. Great trip and you'll easily spend all day there!

One of the most authentic zoo experiences you'll find anywhere. Loved the monorail tour, the gorilla exhibit was top notch and the grizzly bears were impressive too. Great option for multigenerational families, literally something for all ages here.

The zoo itself is huge and have a variety of wildlife to experience. Do not miss Sea Lions, Monorail, Congo Gorilla. Also, it's REALLY easy to find street parking within 500 feet if you arrive early during the weekend to save $16 zoo parking.

Things I disliked for which I had to rate it with 3 starts:
1. The shuttle does not really help since it operates only at 2 or 3 stops. It can be a long walk to reach to nearest pick-up station
2. The animals viewing areas were too high for the kids and one had to lift children up for height advantage.

One of my favorite places in the world. I love all the animals and the staff is very nice to me and my family. Some things are expensive but if you eat beforehand you won't have to eat their overpriced food food!
