Was a hot day.. Try going when it's a little cooler. The animals were awesome but drinks can be pricey.
So crowded . It was really hard to enjoy. There should be a strategic way to keep ppl moving and seeing the animals
Great fun for the family avoid weekends and free days.
I loved the Tigers, the train travel. Also the camels elephants, bears, birds of prey, lions and other carnivores are very interesting
Beautiful and interesting for adults and children. One day is not enough
Giraffe house seems pretty cruel. Cheetah was really stressed.
It was an amazing experience. Thank you to all the workers at the Bronx Zoo for a job well done today.
Wonderful zoo. It's a great place to spend the day with family and friends. Not only do you get to see the animals you also get to learn about them and what you can do to help save them.
I really enjoyed Bronx Zoo, it's large, many animals to see. However, I did go on a Wednesday because its free admission and NEVER again. It was so crowded that we could barely see any animals because piles of people are propped in front. Line to the ladies bathroom was ridiculously long too. My suggestion is to NOT to go on a Wednesday.
One of best Zoo in NY. We reached bit late but still covered almost. Bengal express train is good , you can see Lion, Rhino, peacocks, elephant etc. 4D theatre is also good. It closes bit early 5.30, should be open till 7 pm during summer. Overall very good experience with kids.
As expensive as this place can be, I still love it. If you go on a Wednesday, it's definitely worth getting a Total Experience Ticket to go see all the different Special Attractions. Jungle World, The Wild Asia Monorail, and the Children's Zoo are my favorites. You will have an experience you can't have anywhere else in the world. <3
Excellent place to spend all day exploring and learning about wildlife. Great food at all of the cafe's and friendly, helpful staff! 10 stars!!
wonderful zoo. Great place to take the kids or take pictures
Had an amazing day exploring and learning. You dont have to pay for the total experience package to enjoy the park
Borring place. No animals can be viewed due to large landscapes. Great for animals, bit not for childrens.
The best Zoo! Kids or grown, go there as long as it is sill summer in NYC.
I think that this is the coolest Zoo i have ever been in. And let me tell you something, i have seen few. When my sister and my nephew came to visit, they asked to go to the Bronx Zoo. I first said no, since i though it will be boring. But i must say: It has been no less than amazing! The animals are being take care of very well, and it was a beautiful sunny day. I really recommend it.
I got there at 10:20 on a Sunday morning shortly after they opened. They have a parking lot but I personally think it s insane to pay $17 for parking when you could possibly find street parking. So that s what I did, made a u-turn and found street parking a block away.
It s recommended purchasing your ticket prior to showing up.
The zoo was clean and easy to navigate however a lot of the animals weren t out because it was a cold 35 degree morning.
They are many food options and a couple spots for a beer inside the zoo however they were all closed.
Overall it was a good experience and after 4 1/2 hours I left with still about a 1/3 of the zoo left unexplored.
Love the Bronx Zoo! My daughter loves animals and so do we. Getting a zoo membership was a no brainer.
I love these wild animals especially the prairie dogs and gorillas, and i love every each animals, cute and funny
Nice place to take ur family and see exotic animals ,the zoo is very large alot of animals to see .for covid 19 everyone was wearing there masks ,staff was on top of social distancing ,food was limited but it was set up nicely
Nice setting. Not much point in going during the winter. Some enclosures were too small.
Came after 25 years away to show the zoo to my son. Had the best time gate staff was awesome in getting us the best deal and route to enjoy the zoo to the fullest.
We LOVE the Bronx Zoo but don t ever ever EVER go there on Free Wednesday, during spring vacation, on the first really nice day...UNLESS you want to also experience the press of a rush hour nyc sidewalk almost continually during your visit, and mile-long lines EVERYWHERE (including the Women s bathrooms!)...it is a ZOO (& we very shamefacedly recommend using the men s rooms those lines were SO awful!) Otherwise, all things considered, in our humble estimation, it still exceeds the San Diego Zoo in beauty and remains our favorite zoo in all of the USA...
We were vising from San Diego. This was a great zoo. We really enjoyed the children's zoo and the sea lion exhibit.
Great zoo, bigger than most. You most likely won't be able to see everything in one day but the visit is well worth it. I spent about 5 hours and felt like I got my money's worth; take the monorail ride if possible. Really neat feature that is included in the full price of admission along with other perks. Oldest zoo in the United States and it's one of the greatest. Family friendly and wheelchair accessible.
Visited the Bronx Zoo for Holiday Lights. What a beautiful and well planned holiday activity for the family. The zoo at night decorated with Christmas lights and music is such a wonderful experience! Don't miss a ride on the carousel and the ice sculptures. Of course, have a drink at Africa Village. Become a zoo member and enjoy this world class zoo all year!
The zoo looked and felt very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Lived very near the zoo...one of the biggest in the world. Lovely visiting it. Beautiful park and animals. I suggest to go because it's beautiful!
The place was so clean and the staff was so helpful
The Bronx Zoo houses amazing habitats and attractive exhibits such as the Baboon Reserve, Birds of Prey and the Butterfly Garden. Some special attractions include, The Wild Asia Monorail, the Congo Gorilla Forest and the Dinosaur Safari. More
Such a diverse mix of animals from all over the world! I could hardly believe we were in the city; staff is so friendly and cordial, it makes you feel at ease to know the animals are taken care of nice, kind folk.
You completely forget that you are in the middle of NYC
Great experience. Most indoor and outdoor exhibits opened up and are great. I visited Bronx zoo first time and kids loved it. The Crane plaza serves variety of food and inexpensive compared to some of the other places I have been. so don t waste your time to pack meals.
Get an annual family membership, and you then get free parking and unlimited admission all year long. ROI in barely under two visit so it's a steal. You also get 10 percent off all purchases including food and souvenirs. This is a HUGE Zoo. Lots of great attraction, including a 4D theater, monorail ride all around the zoo (spring and summer mostly), children Zoo (huge section), butterfly garden, mouse house, and many others. Seagulls, brown bear, polar bear, Tigers and Baboons are all part of this excellent Zoo. Note that this doesn't beat the San Diego Zoo or the Singapore Zoo, but it's top notch nevertheless.
Amazing zoo so many different animals and exhibits. Loved the camel ride! Definitely worth going to!!
You can have your wedding, parties ect..also good place for kids
Went with my bestie and her son our kids had a blast
We got the total experience tickets. It was amazing. Great mummy daughters memories made today.....
Very expansive zoo, one of the largest in the country. The zoo very cool exhibits, some of my favorites being the 4D theater as well as the Congo. The only downside is the signage, the zoo has plenty of signs intended to help visitors self-navigate, however, some of the signs are a little confusing. Thankfully, employees are stationed everywhere and are available to answer questions.
The bronx zoo was an amazing place to be and have fun with family and friends
Saw so many cool things but the dinosaur Safari was so packed that line was so long it was about 1 hour long
Went for the bronx zoo holiday light show, which is amazing but it is so overwhelming busy that I do not think I will be taking my child back anytime soon.
Wednesday's are free, but still gotta pay for premium exhibits.
Pro: Wednesdays admittance is free, good animal exhibition, this zoo is really huge but very good organized
Con: during the summer is the high season and on Wednesdays are not enough parking space available.
Amazing place huge one, clean. Liked the fact that they simulated the natural environment of each animal they have. Ok Wednesday s it s free to walk around and has a special deal for activities. A must see when visiting New York.
Beautiful day! Animals where out and not to many people. New parking vending machines.
Great for families, great for friends, great solo, just great
I would give 6 stars if I could. It is so much fun for all ages. Love it so much.
I love the Bronx Zoo I make it my duty to visit the zoo at least once every year. There's so much to see and it's very educational for young and old alike.
The by appointment visitation is great not too many families no overcrowding.
Great, had a good time...next time doing the exhibits...
Excellent place to relax and let the children experience and enjoy a day off.
My kids had a good time. They enjoyed seeing all of the animals and feeding the goats in the petting zoo.
Put on some comfortable footwear! It`s a great place!
Everything was way too spread apart. The only reason it is a big zoo is because each exhibit is about a 20 minute walk from the last.
Lots of animals to see, my only recommendation is bring good walking shoes.
Very big zoo with lots of animals to see it well worth the visit
Loved it. Lots of animals to see. I didn't get to see the tigers and the gorillas. They were hiding. My most favorite animal was the sea lions. They were very energetic and making lots of noise.
Be prepared to walk. Bring travel friendly snacks. Maybe you can locate pics I took during visit!#
Clean, animals are well cared for. Really great way to spend a day with the family! Check out their after hours events as well!
I went there one year ago and it made me calm and peaceful and to take a break after art class and the play ground with walking on the ropes(perfectly family friendly!).
Awesome zoo! Soo many diverse animals and habitats. PREPARE TO WALK! NO SHUTTLE AND MONORAIL AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAYS!
The zoo was nice, but the parking situation was rough. All the parking was full and the directions to the supplemental parking were super confusing. The zoo itself is very nice.
One of the best zoos in the city and probably the largest. Great activities a food to try it's free on humpday
The experience is amazing there's no crowds like before so you can enjoy the zoo much better. The employees are very consistent with cleaning high touch areas and there are many hand sanitizing stations throughout the zoo. Many exhibits are closed which is a bummer but still an overall great experience. Will definitely go again before my membership expires.
