I haven t been in years and yet the visual of the poor, poor, polar bear still breaks my heart. I can t deny how sad that bear was, sleeping upon the fake rock with little to no water around it and literally no company, no greenery, no life. I am heartbroken and it s been nearly 3 years since I saw that bear. They will soon be an extinct species and that is the way the poor bear is treated, it s absolutely horrible.

It was a beautiful day! Also a great deal of exercise, educational fun for all of us. And we know we're coming back again! Soon. Prices too high for just a bottle of water! Smh! I bring my own!

Winter light show summer days , wednesdays free or contribution day (many camps during summer though) but there is always something new to see and visit at the zoo! Never fails to amaze. TONS OF WALKING, SO WEAR COMFY SHOES!

A beautiful zoo. All the exhibits are layed out with educational fun facts about the animals and conservation. The zoo is large so make sure you leave enough time to walk everywhere. There are a lot of trails which are beautiful to walk on a nice day but it might make you lost from the main path so make sure you are following your map. All animals get put up and the exhibits start to close 30 minutes before closing time so do not count on the time right before closing.

Be sure to check the feeding schedule and you can watch the gorillas, penguins and more at their most active. We purchased the cheaper admission and chose to pay the additional $5 for the gorilla habitat. Lots of things make the Bronx Zoo unique and the newborn gorillas were a big part of it. Be sure to plan for snacks and rest. It's a big zoo!

Yes, Wednesday's are free, but to see something as basic as gorillas you have to pay 15 dollars for each person. Plus, sometimes you can't even see the animals because they have wondered somewhere out of sight. I do recommend saving about 100 dollars by going Wednesdays but still expect to spend that much.

The WCS is a wonderful organization established to protect wildlife, having housed and displayed animals now extinct in the wild this organization is dedicated to protecting wildlife. The Bronx Zoo is one of five venues in NYC area dedicated to edcuating the public and future generations about wild life.

The World Conservation Society has memberships that help support this and make it easy to educate your family and friends.

The Monorail is probably one of the best attractions. You get to see so many animals that you would normally not be able to see with GA. Also the pavilion with the cutest little monkeys and the crazy cool looking type of crocodile and the huge fish are super awesome to see. Only complaint is that they close way too early. Once it hit 5:00 is when it really started to cool down to where we could actually enjoy things and not feel uncomfortable from the heat but other than that it was a very fun experience!

The Bronx Zoo is one of the best deals in the City! Though they try to sell you the complete experience package admission ticket for 37 dollars, regular general admission is only twenty bucks. A huge amount of all kinds of animals in a fairly naturalistic setting. Way too many things to adequately see in just one day, even without adding all the supplemental activities (and expenses!) Wednesdays are "Pay what you want" day, so even less expensive if you want.

Love this zoo, only downside is that if one purchases the most inexpensive admission ticket one does not get to see everything. In order to see all the exhibits, you have to purchase the Total Experience package, otherwise you'll end up paying $6 here and there to see the fee based exhibits. Arrive early to see all at zoo, if late you'll miss out since most animal exhibits start putting the animals away at 4:30 PM when zoo closes at 5 PM.

It's a great place doing good work. Late in season the shuttle and monorail are closed, and cool weather will make some animals less active or not come out at all, but the indoor exhibits are very good.

Great zoo with lots to see. Watching the sea lions being fed was fun and interesting. There is a good mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits and many of the indoor exhibits allow strollers but some do require you to park outside. The carousel ride was fun for the kids too.
Also: They do allow outside food and there is plenty of chill spots for a picnic in case you don't want to spend more money on food.

The Bronx Zoo is ideal for family to share time exploring some of the worlds most unique animals. The wildlife preservation makes this amazing experience possible for all of the public aside from making children happy.

I went on a FREE WEDNESDAY, general admission only. I paid additional so I could see Congo.

First, it was very easy to get there by subway. After getting off, it was only about a 10 minute walk and there were signs to the zoo.

It took me about 4 hours to see everything as the zoo was not crowded. I suggest going when kids are in school.

The staff there are super friendly and attentive. I even enjoyed their over priced food as it was part of the experience. You can bring your own food as they don't check your bags.

The only thing I was upset with, Tundra the polar bear passed away so I didn't get to see her. Other than that, what a way to enjoy a day with the family or friends.

The bird exibit was exquisite. They had many different selections and even had human sized birds. The rest of zoo was aight but let's be honest everybody goes just for the birds. The giraffes are also very cool and majestic however I wondered why they were in the bird exhibit.

It's one of the favorite place, my son likes to go. Parking is sometimes a pain and the line to get in is always long before noon. The zoo is very big and it's really hard to see all the animals and enjoy your time in one visit. If you have children, check the children petting zoo, so much fun. Food is a little expensive for what you get but i guess they need to make money too. Overall, we love going to the zoo .

Great family spot. A little on the expensive side. You are better off buying the annual membership if you have large family. The membership is also good at the Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and NY Aquarium. Give you places to visit throughout.

It is a bit expensive there but if you go there on a Wednesday, it's free. Bring your own food or you could buy there at a higher rate. The children enjoyed it. They even have a zoo quest and my boys made me walk around until they finish the quest. We had fun and plenty of photos. One thing, go early or the line will be long since it's free many people tend to go.
