Bronx Zoo is a wonderful place. It's a zoo that a young child to a elderly adult can enjoy in. Anyone who is looking for family fun and adventure this zoo is the place to go. You'll remember it forever. Just keep a close eye on your fries, the ducks love to steal them when your back is turned.

Zoo was great when I went with my girlfriend. We were the first people inside the zoo, we had a great time with the total experience ticket. Wasn't aware you could bring in your own food to the park. Thought they would crack down on that, but I was wrong. Overall had a nice time, but my feet were killing me towards the end .

Very nice zoo. It has a lot of exhibits and it s large area makes it perfect for getting some daily steps along with learning something new and snapping great pictures. It s also easy to keep safe distance and follow COVID-19 guidelines as this is an outdoor venue with enough space to keep social distancing. Food choice are currently limited but everything else has great

Amazing zoo that provides great resources for its animals and guests. It's a non profit organization that truly tries their best to ensure guests have a memorable experience no matter how many times they have visited!

Honestly I came here with no expectations. I only stumbled across it as I was walking through the park and wondering where all the families were heading (I'm an Aussie and was in NY on holiday). Turned out to be an awesome experience! Felt like I could get up close to a lot of animals. Almost stood on a chipmunk (not going to lie, those things are adorable). I paid a little extra so was able to go on a little golf buggy trailer thing for quicker zooming around. Great time.

We visited in June and had a great time at this beautiful zoo. The membership was worth the cost with parking and exhibits not included in admission. We ended the day with White Castle for dinner and dessert from Artuso's Bakery!

One of the biggest ZOO in NYC. And propably the best ZOO in USA. But it is little sad in the winter. Not all the animals are there (because of the cold) and there is only one store that is working. I recommend to visit this ZOO only in summer days.

The staff is amazing. All of them. Every single one of them. The setup is very difficult to navigate, but considering the age of the zoo, there isn't much that can be done about that. The animals are well cared for. The good vendors are chipper and pleasant. The medical station is staffed by wonderful human beings. The zoo is impressively clean, there isn't garbage everywhere and the bathrooms are better than i expected. The additional offerings, like the butterfly garden, are all fabulous and beyond worth the additional ticket price. The carousel had my child enchanted. The gift shops are pathetic and could use updating. The children's zoo is the best I've ever seen and i had to ply my daughter out of the "spider's web"!

The Bronx zoom is a great zoo with lots of attractions. There is something for everyone and it is great for a family visit. I will say that it is not a cheap zoo so if you are trying to visit on a budget you might want to look elsewhere. I particularly liked the seal and sea lion exhibit. It is free and the animals are very playful! They also have a lot of peacocks and peahens.

Thought i should leave one star because nobody seemed to talk truth about bronx zoo.
I love zoo i love animals and particularly i used to love bronx zoo but I was so disappointed.
I remember last time i went there was 8years ago and i went there again today. And guess what? Everything is the same way how everything used to be 8years ago even strollers(i remember because i rented it then). Even animals and reptiles. Every single one of them looked so old, tired, fat(for lack of exercise) and looked so soulless(lack of self-esteem, not so happy). Probably they are the same animals from 8years ago. It made me feel much like if they were only open to pay hundreds of employees for the hours they work for but for nothing else. I felt like i took time machine and went back to 8 years. Also what was also disappointing was, you only get to see ONE lonely elephant, ONE lonely rhino, ONE lonely white polar bear unless you are lucky. YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU GUYS HAVE ZOO OPEN FOR FAMILIES TO COME AND FEEL THE REAL MEANING OF COMING TO ZOO OR SIMPLY HAVE ZOO OPEN SO HUNDREDS OF EMPLOYEES STAY EMPLOYED SO THEY DON'T GET UNEMPLOYED.
Long story to make it short, bronx zoo looked so dead. Needs to change all the animals either to younger animals or make current animals happier and more active.
Particularly that fish looked like if it was thousand year old!!!

Iconic. Inspiring. Single best thing to do in NYC. The only thing I will say is buy your ticket online in advance. Crown and pedestal tickets sell out many months in advance. We just got the regular ticket for $18. Left from Battery Park. Get there early to beat the crowd. Takes a while to get through security (think TSA). Ferry ride is about 20 minutes.

Don't miss this. A holiday must. After a 12 year absence this holiday treat has returned - better than ever. Food is available. See ice carving. Plenty of parking and close to Arthur Avenue for shopping and eating.

Great place to visit, and if you are planning to go the, prepare to spend there a full day. On paid days it is the best time to go there. You don't feel it is overcrowded and you can enjoy each exhibit without pressure from other people behind your back, and are ablr to take plenty of pictures. On Wednesdays it is free and way too many of people go, prepare yourself for a long lines and not being able to see most of the exhibitions. My friend who went there on free day did not enjoy their visit, so I choose to pay, and highly recommend to buy tickets online. Pickup the full package deal for special exhibits and rides because it is definitely worth the online price.
Pack your lunch food and drinks, because the choice is kinda poor, even for park food. Burger was dry, probably from being under the heat lamps, and it's better if you have your own water at you at all times.
Guiding yourself at the zoo was complicated, even using the printed map. We use a pen to cross places we already went, not to go twice by accident. Signage was a bit confusing. The exhibits we're spacious enough for the animals, with plenty of light, especially the gorillas, bears, and tigers.
Didn't skip a chance to do train rides, because it gives you opportunity to see elephants and show you hidden parts of the park. All in all it was a great day out thanks to a great weather and amazing zoo.

So much to do and see, it's definitely an all day adventure especially if you little ones. It can get pricey at the zoo especially with parking being $17 but just be prepared to do alot of walking and walk with your own water be aise water is like $4/ bottle. I highly recommend the nature trek and monorail.

Really enjoyed it here. It'll take a whole day to go through this whole park. Its huge. Alot to see and a great place for kids. My kids loved it here and loved all the animals. Prices for food are steep as usual with these places and parking is paid parking. Its amazing that a zoo this big is located in the middle of a huge city. Totally worth going to.

It's been a while since I have been here. Decided to bring the kids out to see a few animals and the night lights theme. We had fun, enjoyed the food, and the overall experience. It's a bit expensive at 35 a ticket we spent 91.00 for 2 adults and parking.

Definitely worth a day trip. If you're not going to go more than 2 of the special exhibits, the all in one pass isn't worth it. Very family friendly. Animals are kept in very big enclosures, which also means you might not see them when you get there because they are roaming else where in the enclosure. The pea fowls are everywhere here. It's the bronx zoo's equivalent of the pigeon, but less annoying.

If you want a free visit, go on Weds, however you still have to pay for the extra exibits like the monorail or the tree top experience , but at a low price of $15 per person. They have every animal ...bring your walking shoes and snacks

A lot of animals to see! Was a lot of walking so it's wise to wear good shoes. The park is very big! There's no aquarium in this park sadly and the bird exhibit wasn't what my boyfriend and I expected so we were dissappointed. There's also a peacock that walks around

Great place for a short hike and exploration. We went with four small kids and they had a great time exploring and acting like monkeys! There is vandalism that would be offensive if the kids stopped to read it, but ours were too busy playing to stop and read the words.

Such a special place to visit, even more so during COVID. Capacity is capped at a pretty low percent leaving lots of space to explore and enjoy. Even though many of the animals are inside with the change of season still plenty to do and see.

This place is awesome. Connect with nature in the middle of the Bronx. Amazing collection of animals from insects to great apes, sea lions to snow leopards. You can see that they make a huge effort to make the habitats naturalistic. The entire zoo is always spotless. Expensive, but you can get a membership and visit 4 WCS parks FREE FOR A YEAR! (Don't visit on a Wednesday, though! It's the free-entry day and gets CRAZY crowded)

I loved visiting the zoo. We visited in the wintertime and a few of the animals were kept indoors for their protection but nevertheless it was an amazing experience. I would love to visit it again.

The animals were mean to me.

The animals were mean to me.
The monkeys threw their banana peels at me the the garrilas gave me the finger(I kid you not)the birds made on my car and I think they did it deliberately I think the animals hate me

This has always been a favorite place to visit with my son, from the time he was a baby to now (he's 25!). I've always loved this zoo; it's changed so much since I was a kid and totally for the better. The exhibits are beautiful and they do so much for animal conservation. Was so happy they brought back Holiday Lights; they did a lovely job with it. Hope that becomes a yearly thing again. Plan on spending most of a day here; it's totally worth it.

We had never been to this light display before , it was a very cold night the animal displays were very different very nice things to see not live but animals in beautiful colors, the displays were great throughout the park. All the zoo's animals were put away and not visabal to the public during the lite displays. The gift shop was open, they had animal characters walking around for pictures nice to see that they didn't charge for that they also had a small train for children to ride unknown if they charged . We enjoyed our walk thru the park of animal lights. We will do it again next time in city during the holidays

Visiting the Bronx Zoo is always a great experience.. My children love exploring the different exhibits and the staff is informative and friendly. The animals are beautiful and the zoo is kept clean and organized. Our family rode the monorail this time and we were able to see tiger, rhino, and countless other animals from birdseye view. The visit was awesome.

Best Zoo ever.... one of the top in the country. Lions and tigers and bears oh my! From Rhinos to Snakes to Lions & Buffalo's etc etc they have it all. My family's must do every year and Wednesday's the charge is only a donation of your choice. Love the Bronx zoo. They even have ducks, peacock's and chipmunks running free all over.

Love that they have so many animals..my last visit was on a rainy day. Most of the animals weren't out..all of the food, drinks snacks and ice creams stands were closed. I think they're better off either closing on rainy days or admission should be less than $45 on rainy days

Every year I go and it seems that less and less animals are there to see. I remember when my kids were young, I'd take them to the Bronx Zoo and we would be there all day with so many animals and exhibits to see.

I feel I spend more time walking than I do seeing animals. Everything feels so spaced apart. I doubt children can endure walking throughout the whole zoo on foot. Additionally, there's so many extras/exhibitions at the Bronx Zoo that requires an additional fee. Parking, entrance fee, and food, I understand I will be gouged on that but then all the cool stuff requires more money. Mere regular admission is extremely lackluster. If you come here and want to have fun, you will have to shell out more money for the extras.
