Some of the areas are closed, however there is much do there. I love how the peacocks just walk around. Wednesday expect this place to be Jam packed due to donation Wednesday. They have rental strollers for 15, double stroller for 20 and wheelchairs as well to rent. Many places to relax and grab a bite. If your not coming with your own drinks to keep hydrated they do have an all day wrist band for their large cups.

Too big to visit all in one day! Great animals and staff was very helpful. It's unfortunate that we spent 45 minutes in line to get on the monorail (for which we partly paid the bigger entry price) to overhear the staff talking about the previous monorail tour being stuck on the rails and they didn't know when service would be re-established. Staff never notified anyone in line about the undetermined wait time... So we left that area very disappointed and a little angry to have wasted so much time we could have used to see other things...

I went to Bronx zoo to see the holiday lights. It s really amazing lantern decorations. 35/adults and if you park in their parking lot it s extra 17 dollars, I think parking fee is really high. But it was great to see all the lanterns trails . Specially Asian , African ,ocean and ice . Make sure go there at least for 4 hours . And be ready for a long walk . Don t expect to see the real animals, it s just holiday lights and it s good to buy the tickets online.

Yesterday I visited the Bronx zoo. It was a Free day on Wednesday. The crowd was not huge , but moderate , where you feel comfortable walking around. I couldn't cover all the enclosures. Possibly I shall be back next week. But what I lovedost was the sensitization , it tried. It was not about just showing an animal in an enclosure , it was about making one aware of the habitat it came from, it was about the dangers around , etc. I strongly recommend that reach early and walk around m wear comfortable walking shoes as it one has to go through a long distance inside.

Huge zoo. You do see many animals and can learn all about them. However, for the price you pay to get in, I don't understand why anyone should pay for attractions. The only time people should pay is when the park is free admission. CRAZY

An all day experience for any animal or nature lover. From graceful giraffes to thoughtful apes. And everything in between.
Best times to go are spring and early fall when the weather is nice but the crowds are less.

I brought my son here over 10 times in 4 weeks and it never got old. He loves being ablebto walk around and explore and I love learning new things. It would be hard to see everything in one day, but two or three would be just about right.

Children's section of the zoo is wonderful! We spent over 6 hours one day there alone! So much fun!

Children's zoo, butterfly garden, bug carosel and 4D theater cost extra unless you have a membership. Membership includes 5 parks; Bronx Zoo, NY Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and Central Park Children's Zoo.

Wednesdays are free, but packed full of people so it was significantly less fun and much easier to lose sight of your child.

All in all, awesome experience!

Wonderful place.

Wonderful place.
Well care for.
Had a gr8 time.

The best part of the Bronx Zoo is the gorillas! I have never been so close at a zoo before. Usually, they are at a distance, but at the Bronx Zoo, they are behind plexiglass, so you can walk right by. There are also MANY gorillas (on both sides). The food is so-so, and many of the cafes close early, so don't wait too long to eat. Many of the drink stations close early, too. You can get free refills if you buy a souvenir cup, but it is somewhat of a hassle to refill because you have to stand on the regular food line which can be long. Not worth the money for the special cup. Tip: During the summer and early fall, buy your ticket in advance online to save $. You can save even more money by visiting on a Monday or Tuesday. Also, get the all-inclusive package because most of the exhibits cost extra otherwise (huh??). Definitely take the monorail tour.

The zoo never disappoints. Lots to see. However the cleaning protocol now it pretty incredible. With regards to covid I felt safe. They were also really strict with mask policy so that's also a plus.

The zoo was amazing and obviously I loved seeing all the different animals, but as an animal enthusiast myself I had a few concerns...
1. There was a tank with only the word spider as a label nothing else and no explanation, in the tank? A snake....
2. Another tank labeled turtle, they can put their heads in their shells. Which 1 most turtles can't, tortoises can and 2... They were Egyptian tortoises in the tank not turtles at all.
Aside from many errors like this the place was awesome, I just think they need someone to go around checking their signs and tank labels.

I came here with my girlfriend once. I had been to the Bronx Zoo on a field trip in like 3rd grade or something, but hardly remembered it, so I wanted to take her. First, it was supposed to be free admission, but she of course wanted to go to the extra exhibits, so we paid the premium pass to go in. It was worth it, we had a lot of fun, we had lunch here, we saw seals, baby penguins, and more. I even saw a fenced in area with hyenas and when we tried to get closer to see, I lifted her up to joke around and put her inside the area with them, but she squirmed away and her butt landed on the wooden fence post, and gave her a nice open cut! She was laughing though, which is nice. We had a lot of fun, and when we went to the penguin area, we thought we were alone and actually started making out, just as two random people walked in!

Great place to come. Educational, and fun, all of the exhibits are well taken care of. It pays off immensely to have a full membership to these wildlife parks, even if you only went to the bronx zoo and none of these other ny parks like there aquarium.

One of the best Zoos in the entire world. Large zoo with thousands of animals from around the globe. Came here as both a child and adult. Add a visit to The Bronx Zoo as part of your family activity in The Big Apple!

Its the zoo!! The only reason why its hard to call if perfect is because considering the seasons certain animals may or may not be available. Its worth calling ahead to make sure the animals you wanna see are in fact there. I went on a Saturday and it was JAM PACKED , but that is to be expected. Its still free on the Wednesdays. The food and drink is wildly over priced, but again its to be expected. Prepare properly for a lot of walking and bring your own food and drink. Plenty of stroller parking. Lots of fun for both kids and adults.

took a day trip by trip with my kid and they loved it so many amenities, it took a while to get through but well worth the time and price. we loved the tigers and monkeys. the exhibits were awesome too.

Zoo seems well maintained and alot of animals. Need the whole day maybe two to do the whole zoo. The staff was less than helpful. Went with a group of cubscouts. After months of planning and correspondence they couldn't find our group listed at the gate. Then the tour guides never showed up for the tour we paid for. When we asked a passing person for help who was going into the information building she got very rude, refused to help us when we asked someone else and accused us of harassing her. We lost an hour waiting for them before we just went and did our own thing. Nice to with poor management skills.

The Bronx Zoo is very nice has a lot of animals but it's mostly crowded and its hard to see the animals when tall people like to be in the front .The stores and gift shops are expensive and you have to pay to go in a wooden climbing park. Also when you first go don't go in the afternoon or you'll have to wait in a long line thats 20-15 minutes long.I don't really think they could improve the a lot of people situation so this would be a forever 4 stars.

Today I had gone in a very intense Heat Wave and they had sprinklers behind the Fans to cool off their guest.

They care about everyone.

I've been to the Bronx Zoo as an individual and as a teacher. I'm going to review it here as a teacher since it might be able to provide some insight for those booking field trips in the future. First of all this is an absolutely wonderful place to bring your students. My school arranged a field trip for nearly one hundred kids at the end of March and it went off without a hitch. The people you talk to on the phone to book are very helpful and accommodating. They understand that school districts are often not the quickest at getting things done and they're willing to work with you as you sort out final numbers and costs. They also can take care of bus parking passes and will mail everything to you ahead of time. When we arrived it was as simple as talking to one of the employees at the gate who is in charge of groups, and getting our kids in. They even gave us vouchers for the students were absent that day so they could come back in the future. This Zoo is vast and has more than enough to do 4 students over the course of a day. The eating area is great too with lots of places to sit most of them in the shade. The only thing was that it did take a little while to get our food, with most people waiting in line for about 20 minutes. This was surprising because we went during the off-season. Other than that I highly recommend the Bronx Zoo as a school field trip destination.

Wonderful. The Bronx zoo has the most variety of animals ever. I have been to the Smithsonian Zoo and Central Park Zoo. Bronx zoo was the most impressive. The location is cool and lovely. The animals are well taken care of.

Amazing! Love the zoo but get your walking shoes ready. So much to see, so map out what you really want to see. Get a discount on tickets if you have triple AAA get the total Experiance tickets and you get unlimited attractions. If you watch the zoo on animal planet you can also see and talk to some of the participants on the show. Stay away from weds which is a free day. Gets very crowded.

Loved it. The day was cloudy and rainy, but it did not stop us. Passed the big route. The beasts look great. Each type is given maximum attention. Large and large - large territory and large aviaries
But for children I liked the fact that there is a place for full contact with animals. You can iron and feed. Many faucets with water for washing hands.
There are also places for snacking and rest. After all, a walk through the zoo will take a lot of time. From 1.5 to 3.5 hours. And some will have a mall all day long.
In general, I advise you to take with you more water and a small snack.

With my son and my wife coming to the zoo on Wednesday, the tickets are not too expensive ($ 14.99 for the cheapest on Wednesdays). It was actually free before! There are not many people in the zoo, and the most impressive are the butterfly pavilion and rainforest bird area. Both of these areas are closed and very warm. I think that because butterflies and tropical birds are afraid of the cold, all kinds of butterflies and Birds fly around you as if you are in a dream. It's amazing!

I hadn't been to the Bronx Zoo in years, so I ventured back with my little one in tow. It was such a great experience visiting the exhibits and roaming around the zoo.

We got there early on a Saturday to maximize our time, and we were able to view all of the exhibits and animals we wanted to see. The Children's Zoo gets very crowded but it's a wonderful experience for kids. Highly recommend it for adults as well (who wouldn't want to feed a cute alpaca?). This zoo has it all! Visit early to make the most of your time.

This is one of my favorite places to go to during the Spring. I advise people to not go during the Summer as it gets very hot and there isn't much shade *AND MUCH WALKING*. If you're going for the first time, I also advise you get the TOTAL EXPERIENCE tickets, that way you don't miss out on most of the animals and the real "wow factor" of the zoo.

One of the largest zoos I've visited ever. So much to see, so much to do. I would've liked to see more signs in the parking lot as to where to go to enter. We had to find one of the parking attendants to guide us in the right direction. Make sure you bring your walking shoes and plenty of water. Good thing is, when you get tired of walking, there's a shuttle to take you around the property.
