Always a fun place to go with the family. Looking into getting the kids more involved behind the scenes with the animals! :)
Huge Zoo, you should come there at the beginning of the day, otherwise it's not enough time to see everything. Summertime preferable. wednesday - free day!!
Amazing experience we have a membership and it was affordable. They are very accommodating, everyone is polite, and very knowledgeable. The Zoo is clean whether we are in the exhibits or the bathroom.
Best experience ever at the Bronx zoo!!! I usually come every summer on Wednesdays and You never got to see the animals, but this time they let more animals out and they have ha of price the total experience.
The staff was super nice and in light of covid you need to reserve Wednesday's free tickets Monday's at 5 pm and all the indoor exhibits are closed so keep that in mind if you plan on visiting
We came on a beautiful fall day. The foliage added to the scenery and it was relatively uncrowded. I will always love a visit to the Bronx Zoo!
Make sure you do not go on free Wednesday because that is when every school in the tristate goes. It's really worth paying for
The Bronx zoo has many exciting places to visit. Anyone can spend the entire day here and not be bored.
Love this zoo. It is big but not too big. They have volunteers wandering around that are knowlegable and friendly. Crowds during the week in the summer are manageable. The exhibits are well maintained. Love the girraffes. There are so many and the paddock is beautiful.
Animals were out and playful there was a brewing even there very nice even thou the beer was warm it was
This is one of the largest zoo s i have been to.
Many animals to see, but be prepared to do alot of walking. The coolest thing about the zoo is the monorail ride that rides above near tree height and gives you a nice variety of views of the if you are not a memberof the zoo the price to see all exhibits can get very expensive. $$$ best deal is to get a family membership for around $200.00.
Still the best zoo in NYC. Love their exhibits ans habitats. Is a bit pricey for the full experience. Wednesdays are pay what you wish days.
It has a great vibe with all the animals, and a fun place to go to. I also like how they keep the place clean and make sure other people are having a good time. Service here is great they respond to your questions and make sure you know what you are doing. Overall a pretty amazing experience!
Big, sprawling zoo. Lots to walk for little to see. There are, to be fair, impressive enclosures, but I don't think it's worth all the walking.
Loved it, the little one had a blast and that's what counts. I would definitely recommend going on a weekend when the shuttle runs because that zoo is HUGE!
Amazing zoo! It's huge and you are able to get amazing photos of many animals without glass or fencing impairing the shot.
I love it here so much that I joined a Conservation Fellow (Membership).
The name says it all.the bronx zoo.so the zoo has decked the place with bows of Holy beautiful lighting Christmas characters carolers etc.. plenty of fun i was fortunate to see it you should to i believe 5pm to 11 pm would be the best hours to see the bright beautiful lighting it runs now thru January.
Do not go on a nice day when all the kids are off as well! Police turned us away since every lot is full. Stuck in gridlock traffic for hours with nowhere to go to park. I did get a tour of the ghetto and welcoming NY drivers. What a waste of time and I would assume even if I had a chance to get in, it would've been miserable and packed. I would listen to all the recent reviews.
THE PLACE IS NICE. I DROVE FRM BOSTON,MA 2VISIT THE ZOO. THE PLACE IS HUGE. ONLY DRAW BACK IS THAT WITHOUT OUT MAP...U2 COULD B WALKING THE ZOO FOR 5HRS AND NOT C THE WHOLE PLACE
They need new additions to this place. I remember going in elementary school and I just recently went and everything is still the same.
Great zoo, ive always loved it. Not really worth it though (if you have a commute and to pay) during the cold months with young kids. Deff a must do during spring!!!
Great experience huge zoo, loved the gorillas the most
The kids area is the best. They are able to pet and feed the animals. Can't wait till summer to revisit the zoo with my now 3 year old son
I have been to many zoos across the country and the Bronx Zoo is by far the best. Even better than San Diego Zoo.
Large park with lots of animals to see! Well designed architecture that makes for an enjoyable experience. If you are going for the whole day (and if you made the trip to the Bronx it's a sage net you are) splice on the full experience so you can go on the cart transport and in the butterfly world.
There is so much to see and enjoy in Bronx zoo which will make you want to go back again and again.
Went a week ago. It was clean and fun. Went on a sunny day but a bit cold so the animals were in the sun and not a lot of people to move around. Great time of year to go
Great for the Holidays Light, esp if you have the annual membership
There's so much to do here I love it will never tired of going every summer
I d like to give the Bronx zoo more stars but after getting into the zoo we realized a lot of the attractions inside the zoo required extra payment. The monkey house was also closed at the time and in general I would call my visit just average, I wasn t blown away by the zoo.
We went here on a field trip and had a blast. Definitely pay attention to where you are going because it can get a little confusing and you end up walking around wasting time. It was on the colder side the day we went so the gorilla's weren't out which was disappointing. If you plan on buying stuff from the gift shop do not wait till the end of the day as it gets crowded in there. Make sure you do the new dinosaur exhibit that was really cool and the kids loved it!
Fun! Free on Wednesdays! Long line when we got there at 12:30. Park closes at 5 ( exhibits 4:30). Plan on more time! Definitely get the " experience" to get into the yellow attractions on the map. It's only $15 on free we'd otherwise online said 30 or 40 on top of reg admission. Crowded but got to see animals! Really hot and they were all out.
The zoo is great . I never get to finish exploring it because it s so big... overall it s great...
25$ in winter with a lot of attractions closed. It would be great to adapt the price or at least warn the guest about it.
Visited for Holiday lights. Highly recommend to go early before it gets dark as there will be a lot of people coming in when it gets dark.
Nice Venue to see animals. It was a bit overpriced. Some of the exhibits were unavailable. It was not particularly clean throughout.
MONDAYS AFTER NOON
must be a contracted holiday for big mammals at the Bronx Zoo: the tigers, bears and most of the antlered animals were no-where in sight on July 15. A duo of swans were in the fields set aside for bison, while the birds in a climate-controlled aviary house were very busy. One bird called an Argus harried for ten minutes or longer with beak jabs and wing flutters a zookeeper in his space cleaning a mess. Despite that match we were disappointed not to see the big animals but the place remains a green wonder in an urban area. Old trees, thick canopies overhead, and hills and streams and, with a little imagination, can help you can evoke the Bronx before we arrived and no heavy admission fees were needed to seek out the big mammals.
Nice place to kick back and enjoy with your kids, can get pricey, don't go on Wednesdays when it's free, too crowded.
I liked it very much with my class and every single animal there was very exciting to see with all of my friends. All of my friends liked all of the animals and it was a good place to spend with a class and every other classes in the grade.
Love the Bronx Zoo!!! So much to see and do. It takes few days to do the whole park especially with the litte ones.
My kids and I had lots of fun, we enjoyed viewing all the different kinds of animals. They also had face painting for the kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful
My school does a trip here once a year every year. The kids seem to really enjoy it and so do I. It seems like the more we go the more I am able to see. Sometimes it can be easy to get lost but other than that it is fine
Doing good work. Paying for the extra pass is worth it if you love Gorillas. Layout of the giraffe exhibit isn't layed out well, need a better flow for congestion.
its amazing. entertaining for kids and elders booth
Annoying second class system of restricting certain animals behind tiered payment but nice place. No elephants anymore :(
First time coming to the Bronx zoo and came to check out the new dinosaur Safari and was not disappointed. My son loves dinos so this was perfect for him. A lot of animals to see. We will have to make multiple trips in order to see them all.
Not crowded and they are controlling access to enclosed sides. Well run. Enjoying our visit.
I went with a school trip. Most of the exhibits were not available unless you paid extra. Very disappointing.
Lots of animals to see. Just gotta check for the season changes if you are wanting to see an specific animal. Bring you'r meal if you want to be nice to you'r budget.
It was an unbelievable exhausting too long of a line just to see the Dinosaur Safari Exhibit, that only last 20 mins. I stood on theee different lines, with a approx. 1hr 1/2 wait on each line, with my 5yr. grandson. His little legs were hurting from standing so long. I took the paper map I had, and placed it on the ground as often as I good so he can sit for a few. I suffer from back pain from back surgeries, so it hurt tremendously to stand that long. The bathrooms were just as bad, with at least 45min wait. When your done with one exhibit, your too exhausted to do another you just want to go home to rest. It has to be better organized, with smaller lines, with a lesser time wait. Place was packed with families, and kids, babies in carriages, and there were fights braking out. Wanted to feel safe with my grandson, and it was not a safe experience,. There was too many people frustrated standing too long, that causes people to push, or bump which leads to altercations. Overall, the Dinosaur Safari Exhibit was nice, but for what you have to endure, it's too much.
Wear comfy shoes and a hat because the is a lot of walking.
Great place for the kids to explore but multiple exhibits were not open.
Live it here. Best place for family activity. Wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking. Bring you own basket, food Courts are pricey...don't think it's worth it.
Oh btw Wednesday's is free entry day but most animals aren't available however there's PLENTY to see anyway. Plus its creating moments for the memories to share.
The greatest place ever. I advice u guys to plan the animals u wanna see b4 u go there. It is a really big. I need to go again as we couldn't see everything in one day.
We pick the hottest day to visit and the walking was most for me
Best place to visit while you are in NY. Its cheaper to visit on Wed. Cost is affordable
Huge zoo in very pleasant wooded surroundings. Can get busy in summer months but plenty to keep the kids entertained for visit after visit. Can be expensive if you visit just once but annual memberships are the way to go for local visitors.
It is a very beautiful zoo, full of different animals and species. Check their webpage, but Wednesdays are free.
I take my daughter here on Wednesday and have a ball. Great place to go with family.
All employees very polite. Animals look well care for and healthy
Got to check out the return of Holiday Lights at the Bronx Zoo!! Sooo much fun!! Truly hope they keep it up for future years, as it s such a unique experience! The layout was great, the staff was friendly, and the exhibit was truly impressive!
We had a good time. We arrived a little before closing so we didn't get to see all of the zoo. What we did see was so cool! All the animals were very active.
Wednesday are a great deal. Not too busy and a great time to see animals
Diversity and things to fill your day. I recommend geting the all access thought.
It's a very nice time seeing animals you probably would never see in your life. Bring walking shoes thought this place is huge!
Bronx Zoo has beautiful and exotic animals, I haven't seen at any zoo I have been too before!!
I was very impressed and I recommend this zoo to anyone and everyone looking for a fun time!!
I enjoyed the free admission Wednesday. But I can't condone people with wild kids that can't listen to simple commands like "don't bother the animals " and then they chase the poor peacock birds around. There are even some adults that hit the glass window displays such as the world of reptiles and mouse house. The place is fun and great. But a lot of customers are horrible.
A diamond in the rough awesome facility.
The habitat for endangered species is a 10. Will go back again.
I would like to personally thank Jill Kevorkian for making my grandson's day at the park extra special. My Grandson was diagnosed with AML he is 2 years old. He has been fighting this battle since thanksgiving and last week we were given the worst news family could get , he was sent home a palliative care. right now we are awaiting news of a chemo treatment drug that is very difficult to get to hopefully give him a chance at life, but in the meanwhile he receives blood transfusions and platelets to keep him alive. We wanted to take him to Disney with make a wish but his body will not allow that, so we decided to take him to The Bronx zoo because he loves animals. I unfortunately could not attend I am sick and unable to be around Joey at this time. So this morning as a watch my family leave for this special outing , I said how can I make me a part of this so I decided to call the Bronx Zoo and see if they can do something special for him and I spoke to an angel. She was warm and understanding and at the last moment she but together a day may Grandson would never forget. Thank you for that Jill, you gave me hope that there is still good, caring, compassionate people in this world that will drop what they are dong to make a little boys miracle come true. God Bless You from the bottom of my heart, you made his grandmother a part of his day.
