We were greeted by the tortoise saying hi! Very nice, clean zoo
All staff were friendly and well informed.
It's a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the wildlife
Huge zoo, would probably take two or three visits to see entire zoo. Me and my family purchased a yearly pass for $300, well worth it, we are able to go to the Queens, Brooklyn and Central Park Zoo's as well as the Brooklyn Aquarium. Parking is included in the Bronx Zoo and Brooklyn Aquarium.
Beautiful zoo....did get lost trying to leave park....
Good zoo where you see animals being free and happier than in other zoos. I just expected to see more exotic animals since this is the New York!
I love the Bronx Zoo it's always a great experience. The monorail for the Asia park is closed until April 27 . My favorite part is the Congo I love how up close and personal you get to the Gorillas. Wednesday's are always free. I really didn't enjoy the crowds at the Congo I feel it should be monetized a little more because people just stay around and it gets a lot congested. Members get 10% off of anything at the gift shops and for food. Over all its a great place to spend the day with your family.
Nice experience. Looking forward to going back in summer when it comes more alive.
Great zoo. Lots to see. Rides, 3D movie and much. Great assortment of animals and more to come. Free on Wednesdays
The Bronx Zoo is open and empty. They now offer animal encounters. $250 for group of 6. Not sure what they charge for non-members. We went to the Giraffe encounter for my niece's birthday. It was a lot of fun and very informative thanks to wildlife conservation student Joshua and Zoologist Kimberly. Next will be the Cheetah encounter, which was sold out.
Holiday lights!! Lots of work into the project. But it was spectacular!!
I love this place because it has beautiful animals and nature
Had a lovely unseasonably warm day at the zoo. How sad it is for those who want to see the gorillas, and have to pay $6.00 per person. This should be open to all it is obviousely the most popular exhibit. The 1% wins even at the zoo. What a thoughtless group who plan behind the scenes. Barbara Badner Bklyn NY
Is best place ever since I was little kid, use go there
Loved it. Always love it hear. Parking is expensive but it's the zoo it's a good cause. Feeding and caring for animals isn't cheap.
Boo at The Zoo is one of our favorite annual family events. They handled the need for social distancing and sanitation wonderfully. From timed entrances to mask necessity (and availability if you wanted a fun, animal mask) and hand sanitizer stations, we felt comfortable the whole way.
This is the largest urban zoo in the world. I usually spent a day with my son and daughter in this place.
Expected more. Lots of walking. Not so many animals for all the walking.
great place, lines weren t awful in mid-September. pricey but the kids had a good time. tons to see- plan on it being all day.
What can I say? It's the zoo. It's pricey but the cost is for a good cause. No matter how many times I've visited, there's always something new to see and learn.
If you plan to visit more than twice in a year, buy the membership. It's worth it even though the price keeps increasing.
Came here to visit the Holiday Lights. It was a bit overpriced but at least the money goes towards a good cause. There is a lack of food options so pack a snack or eat before you come. There are next to no vegan/vegetarian options. The cafe area is a bit of a mess. Prepare for a crowd around the hot drink area. I also wish there was better signage and the exhibit overall wasn't too interactive.
Took my PK class on a field trip with a guided tour. The tour guides were phenomenal and patient. They came out to find our class waiting in line, helped us get in and took them to see all kinds of animals. They knew all the hiding spaces and the 4 yr olds did not complain about walking un the heat for a good hour because they were so engaged. The Bronx Zoo has an amazing staff! Our class is so grateful to have had the experience. We will definitely return next school year!
Bronx Zoo was pretty good. The problem for us was we have gone on the first week of April. There were many animals that were still wintering. Tha Congo was still closed. The things we missed were our fault for scheduling our trip in early April. The exhibits were all good. The park staff was all nice. Will be a great trip later in the season.
Love the peacocks just wandering around and the large selection of animals to see.
Fantastic experience- the kids absolutely loved it- especially the penguin feeding time Also lucky enough to see the Holiday lights - absolutely worth it!
Awesome staff with lots of knowledge about all of the exhibits. Great day for a walk. So much to see...
My Daughter and I had a good time at the Bronx Zoo. My favorite was the World of Birds, Gorillas, and the Bears...
Great variety of active animals. Well presented. Clean and great extra activities. Like zip line abd tree top adventures big and smaller but both well done with helpful and capable guides.
Loved every minute. I just like to say to people though be mindful and understanding when they have to close excibets down due to weather or whatever the reasoning, they are protecting the animals. Also totally worth the money to pay the extra $10 or whatever it is for the upgraded pass.
This place is good and interesting to bring your family you could find garbage in the floor a lot of people but it's a good place to see animals
I had a great time , big zoo almost got lost walking back to the exit , but it was fun
Super amazing my 4 yr old kid love
It
Love the zoo. Not like it use to be. It's very expensive. You can't see the animals you were able to see in the little houses. The best things are extra. Still had a fun day.
Bronx Zoo is part of the Wildlife Conservation Society. They're helping to preserve wildlife and our planet in many ways. Many tours, classes and their online Web page, inform the public about wildlife preservation and planetary conservation.
Their exhibits are beautifully designed to be as close to the animals' natural habitats as possible and have many informative and educational signs located throughout the exhibits. Their new Treetop Adventure and Nature Trail exhibits are as fun as they are beautiful. The Bronx Zoo has something for everyone, young and old!
First time being back since last year and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Came on free Wednesdays and was able to ride the bug carousel and that's about it because we came during the last time block available which was 3pm. Longer wait due to social distancing and cleanings after each group of people were able to ride but I rather be safe than sorry. Saw a few animals but wasn't crowded at all. Definitely will try to make it a weekly thing and make sure to reserve your tickets online at least the day before or you'll be stuck with the last time slot like us. But overall it was pretty cool and staff members are lovely! Perfect way to get the little ones tired too and there's a nice big park outside the Bronx River Pkwy entrance. Plenty of mta near by, places to eat and feel free to pack the cooler or some snacks in your backpack, convenient for saving $$
great place to go to see alot of different animals but winter not many out due to cold weather. drinks were expensive and food was mediocre
They do a great job for boo at the zoo
Plus I love the animals here. Very well cared for and seem quite happy. Love going here
I don't have a photo but I found it very tiring for my experience, so much walking. Also the map for the exhibits are hard to find, it was beautiful but I give it 4 stars
It's the Bronx Zoo, what can I say. I love it. When I am there, it feels like I'm in another county on safari. I forget I'm in New York. If you're local, its cheapest to buy a membership. If you're visiting, wednesdays are still free, but for the fun stuff like the monorail, the camel rides, dinosaur safari, etc, you have to pay. Better to suck it up and pay for the total experience tickets. It's really a great place for everyone.
Lovely! Just make sure you wear comfy footwear,, the place is huge and the waiting time to the exhibits have doubled because of covid.
It's a great place to go out and have an educational yet fun time with the family. The yearly membership is worth it, pays for itself. I would recommend bringing your own food, since they don't have a great variety of meals. In general their staff is pretty friendly and polite, it does get a bit crowded on Wednesdays or on their special holidays Ex. Boo at the Zoo
A big and beatiful park most likely would not finnish seeing in a day
Too much walking with anticipation of seeing the animals... and when you finally get to your destination.... You are left with saying.... "That's it?" Also the maps are useless and they need more security or people at each check point to help with navigation.
Animals were not out in view. It ended up a walk in the park nothing more. Thank goodness I attended on Wednesday!!! It's free! Perhaps, the animals aware of the Bronx location took cover to not be a statistic in a bad way.
Great with a membership. Increased a few years ago but a fun time. Summer time and warmer weather days can be very hectic.
Pretty good, it's even free if your a CUNY student which I would've gave it 5 stars for if it wasn't for the food which is overpriced and unhealthy. 1 water bottle costs 4$, but aside from that great park with great sites.
My daddy had a blast, he grew up in New York and went there as a kid than we brought him there as a reminder of his youth .
This is a great place for not just your kids but for your inner kid aswell!!!
First time theirin my life and I had a blast. Definetky will be back in the summer time when more animals are awake. The chicken tenders at the restaurant are great the pizza definitely needs pepperoni ND maybe buffalo chicken?
Total experience tickets are overpriced. Gen admission doesn't include 60% of the park. The food offered is terribly overpriced and not even remotely tasty. Parking is $18 and took an hour to get into the lot on a sunday. We drove an hour to get to the zoo, next time I'll search out smaller, regional zoos. I couldn't take the crowds.
Entry is free on Wednesday. But that does not cover some main attractions and rides. Inside you will get a deal for $14.75 which covers an all access pass. Get that. It's worth it. Take the train to see the animals and then go exploring on your own.
A Day well spent and worth every penny.
This Zoo is an excitement not just for the kids but also for the adult kids who love animals and mother nature.
The zoo has the below animals to view from the safari train that is superrrr fancy!!!
Monkey
Elephant
Tiger
Lion
Horse
Raindeer!!!
Deer
Chimpanzees
Buffalo
Goat
Turtles and Tortoise
Snales
Jaguar!!!!!
Giraffee
Ostrich and
Sea birds and animals
This place also has stores and food facilty to engage customers and keep awareness about keeping animals safe for planet earth.
Its a beautiful well maintained zoo
We had a great experience with the family. It was a lot more than I expected. Plan on spending the whole day though, this place is huge!
Great place. Lots to see has a zipline and monorail also a dinosaur safari. Lots of different animals to see from across the world. 3 different entrances.
They were monitoring the capacity with someone at the the front entrance and exit to make sure it didnt get to crowded, but even with space some tourists seemed to like to stand right next to you when there is plenty of other space to be used.
I also appreciated the safety measures that has been taking with limited ticket sales and parking directions.
Iconic zoo. Large variety of animals. Lots of fun events if you go on the right days and time. The bird exhibit was my favorite. Only complaint is lack of water fountains and benches for resting.
Great time. It was very nice experience, very clean and the staff was super polite and knowledgeable of all things about the zoo.
Come here with the kid, so many activities and you see animals are well kept and loved, and as happy as they can be while away from natural habitat.
Wednesdays are free, and in my not-so-humble opinion, Jungle World is worth 5 stars by itself!
However, if not for those 2 great selling points the rest of the zoo merits like 3 to maybe 4 stars. Be prepared to do a lot of walking; there is a lot of unused space between many exhibits.
On Wednesdays it's a "Suggested Donation" day which includes everything but a camel ride. So take a personal day and spend it exploring the wild wonders of the Animal Kingdom.
It was a really nice experience. Wednesday are a free ticket day. They ask for a donation, you don't have to but I did. I believe it was the right thing to do.
Buy your tickets online and save! The all inclusive pass is worth it..for 12 dollars more you get 30+ in value..lots of fun things to do.
Truly a gem in the middle of the BRONX! my kids had the greatest time there was so much to see we couldnt see it all we have to come back!
It's AMAZING I LOVED all the animals there Soo Cute
Amazing place to visit during vacations and weekends!
It's a great exercise just to walk and look at the different animals, lots of photo opportunities, the memories you gather last a life time.
Fun summer and good activities to do with the children
I really love the idea that you can see all the animals in The zoo
Very disappointing. No one available to guide. Very little animals as far as we could see. No restaurants. Was not free as advertised. Had a better experience at the Central Park Zoo. I expected a wonderful experience for my son, instead he was a disappointed 6 year old.
Beautiful zoo with lots to do. Not bad eating options. For those that live in New York, the family premium membership is very worth it. Free parking and unlimited free admission with one guest. Also all the extras are included. If you go to the zoo with your family two or more times in a year you have saved money.
Had a great time out tonight with the family. Came on the last night for the Holiday Lights and it was amazing. The different animal sculptures and the Christmas music was a great experience. Thank You Bronx Zoo for a great time.
Nice day with an awful lot to see. Not enough time for all.
My grandson will have wonderful memories of Bronx Zoo. The employee's were very knowledgeable and professional.
This was my second visit to the zoo. We were there for the Holiday Lights Festival, it was its last day yesterday for the lights. I do think it's a nice zoo. I can only talk about last night's experience. It was an awesome experience and I cant wait until next year to see the lights.
It was really cold but I suggest that you go when it's dark because the lights are brighter and nicer. It also can be a cute date night and family night. The carousel is awesome its bugs. Of course, the food is expensive. Put the food in your budget or bring your own. I love hot chocolate but their hot chocolate was not good.
