Not as good as compared to Berlin and Copenhagen zoo
An annual visit is a must at this zoo. One of the largest in the country and if you have small children there's always something they can enjoy. Getting a membership yearly is key since it can get really expensive really quick if you go with more than one adult and more than one child. My son and I have been every year and will continue to do so as he gets older.
Cute little zoo. Visited in the winter time so many attractions are closed till Spring. Wednesdays are still free except parking and if you want to pay for extra attractions. Food wasn't great but the staff is nice.
Its the Bronx zoo.
Come on, like how can I complain about it.
Such a great history, exhibits, education, and entertainment.
I could go again and again and not grow tired.
There's something therapeutic about a leisurely stroll around this park-like zoo observing animals that seem contented in their habitats.
Great open areas for the marvelous beasts.
Abundant, helpful, and cheerful staff.
Great place for the family to walk around and see all different kind of animals.
Best zoo in the country in my opinion. Great exhibits with hundreds of endangered species you won't see elsewhere
I came here every year as a kid up until the age of 16...and this is the first time now with my 9 month old baby. I really can't wait to take her here each year and have her experience my favorite places each year; Jungle World, the Children's Zoo, and all of the other attractions such as the seals which are unforgettable.
Nice enough zoo, however once you pay the ticket fee to get in, there are more fees to get into different exhibits. So you can only see a limited number of animals and not all unless you are willing to pay extra on top of your admission price.
1st time I been there and I loved and I didn't see everything need to go back
This place is played out. Went many times over last 40 years and not much improvement
I've been a member for the past 7 years. I went with my youngest and her buddy to checkout the tree house. As usual there was so much to see that they enjoyed before we arrived. "We will be back!"
If you like zoos....you will have a lot of fun. You need one entire day to spend on there!
We have visited many times this time we came to see the elephants of Asia we loved the monorail ride this zoo is great we became members a year ago
Wonderful day to spend the day, and getting a membership is definitely worth it.
Had a great time at the Bronx zoo! I enjoyed the camel ride very much as well as seeing the monkeys. When watching the monkeys play they stopped for a moment to embrace. It was very sweet. The gorillas were hiding unfortunately but there is only a small window to spot them. I wish there had been more areas to view them from. The zoo had a Halloween theme going titled Boo at the zoo. There were a lot of families in there Halloween costumes. It wasn't overly crowded. The butterfly garden was also really cool!
Excellentin the summer but sub par in winter. Thats to be expected. The have the best animal selection in NYC.
Nice place to visit. I think parking spots per car is of less width than most other places in US
Still a great place to go with your family but it's time for updates and renovations to some of the buildings and attractions
We love it. a lot to see and a family place, prepare to walk but they have refreshments in every corner.
The most decorated zoo. Very huge and lively. Monorail and sky walk is worth taking a look. Expensive but worth
This zoo is huge and spacious compared to the Philadelphia zoo. I visited on a Friday and it was not crowded at all. The exhibits were great, and I felt it was definitely worth the admission price and the two hour drive.
Beautiful Zoo. Wednesday deals are great!
Only negative is the parking. To get out was a nightmare. All machines were down!!
You had to go back to the entrance to pay for parking where they only accepted cash!
Then the card was not officially validated. Got stuck at the exit gate and had to cause traffic by reversing and going to some main gate. Some guy had to manually take the ticket to lift the gate to allow people to exit, the traffic just to get out!!
I like it because they had zip line and cool stuff for kids
Fun and very kid friendly and enjoyable and a good learning experience. Must go to for all ages
Appreciated visit, great many things to see and explore.
Hv to take kids here.. must visit.. can finish watching everything in a day ..
The largest zoo in tri-state area. Its spread right next to the New York Botenical garden so you can visit both places in one day. There is a parking lot but it fills up quickly and you hqve to pay $12 for parking (member parking is free). Kids under 2 are free bit 2-13 ticket cost $13, adult $28, and studnet/senior (60+) $18. It has animals from all around the world and diffrent events and activites each month. The animal areas are large size so the animals have enough room to walk aroud so because of this some animals are hard to see.
Very nice visit. Wednesdays are free. Too crowded to enjoy on a Wednesday.
I love to see the look on my grand kids eyes when they see the animals. Reminds me of my own kids
Exibitts were great a little over crowed on wed free day
We have visited Zoos all over the country and think the Bronx is one of the best. Plenty of animals to see and things to do. If you plan on visiting the Bronx, this is definitely worth the visit. We also were surprised on how responsible the food and stuff in the shops were compared to other zoos.
Not worth the price. Then you have to pay extra for anything decent inside the park. And $17 to park. Ugh...
Well maintained zoo .. almost free on a wednesday. The food price is a killer .. 11$ for a large beer !!
Over all a great time poorly marked exhibits hard to find
Pay what you wish on Wednesday. 2300 Southern Blvd, The Bronx.
A little expensive compared to other zoo's. But they have more then a lot of zoos as well.
A lot of fun! Its HUGE, so plan on a lot of walking.
Love going to the bx zoo brings back so many good childhood memories
Zoo very interesting, there are many animals, it is very well organized, although the prices of food and treat are very expensive
This zoo is huge, so there's plenty to see. I love Jungle World, Tiger Mountain, and the aviary, although everything is really well organized and the animals are clearly well-loved and cared for properly.
The best zoo I ve ever been to. One of my favorite things about this particular zoo is that the animals always seem to be active. The lion roars. The bear swims. The monkey swing around. A lot of other zoos I ve been to, the animals look unhappy and just lay around.
The zoo is so big I am still coming back there to visit the other part.
My experience was pretty fun I wish I could be able to post videos as well
Great place to visit. Clean and cared for animals on exhibit
Poor treatment of animals, especially elephants. Nice zoo to visit but I cannot financially support an organization that treats these animals so cruely.
I believe it's free on Wednesdays. Large crowds. Bring some cash for snacks and food. The animals exhibitions are wonderful. This zoo is awesome. Right in the middle of a city.
If you a member worth the day out if you have to pay a lot of stuff closed
Awesome zoo, a lot to see and do. Little too big for little kids but its fun time. Be prepared to walk a lot.
Parking is little pricey but considering the location, its fair.
It's was nice we were there for a birthday for my grandson. Aaron!
great animals tip: go early, like 11:00am or 12 am
Exciting time there, lots to see and do, only issue couldn't get a pretzel to save my life the staff kept saying not ready yet and we had to go to a different parking area cause closing gates of one and we had to be a member to get to another?
The Bronx Zoo was great and fun! The only downfall was the the 45 mins in traffic to get into the zoo.
The animals are treated nicely. And we got to see the Cast of the show the the
Zoo
Love looking at all types of animals with my nieces and nephews
Christmas Light exhibition is wonderful really nice, kids and adults enjoy this so much....
Bronx Zoo did a great job!
Impressive display of animals that are well kept for. Place is sparkling clean. Its a must for any NYC visitors
On the website, it says the zoo closes at 5, but at 430 they put away the animals. Also some exhibits you have to pay extra to get into.
Very cool zoo in the greatest city in the world. Put on your walking shoes so much to see. Best to go in warm weather
Bronx Zoo i believe is the best one to go animal's lots of them i walked so much i in joy this place. The was so much fun to experience seen tiger's up close is crazy you can see them so clear.it was an unforgettable day you and your family kids will it.
Good space on the property, enclosures were very good. Variety of animals not as many as expected for the reputation. Many interactives not working. Over all good experience though.
Large zoo, so bring good walking shoes! Good variety of animals, and the bug carousel was a huge hit with my daughter. Only negative for me was that there seemed to be a lot of vehicles driving around while we walked and it seemed we were always in the way. We attended a little off season, so I'm sure in the summer that wouldn't be as big of an issue, but some more signage to let you know vehicles also travel on the road would be nice!
This is a great too for couple or families. It makes more sense to buy a yearly membership if you plan on going more than once a year...also don't forget to add the unlimited parking option to the yearly pass
Always a great place to visit! I feel like I learn something new every time I go.
We love this place! Very clean, staff is helpful and friendly, even on very busy days. The animals are well-cared for and clean.
The best. Beautiful, sprawling acreage that showcases the best of wildlife conservation and education.
Was very well done. Loved the monorail and the information given during the ride.
Wish the monkey house was open. Can't Wait for seaon 3 to start.
Don't go on a weekend or holiday... It gets too busy
