Fantastic zoo experience in the middle of one of the worlds most populated cities. Be ready to walk your feet off in this sprawling zoo, where you will see an entire troop of gorillas, elephants, lions and I could keep going but you get the point. They have many, many animals! It is definitely worth it to purchase the all-access pass (35$ or so) to have access to all of the special exhibits (gorillas, tram and more). You can also bring your own food and drinks, so you won't have to buy the overpriced food they sell there.

Expensive, charges within for congo and other portions. This is the only zoo in several states that recharge for animal exhibits. Several animals displayed stressed behavior. Overall zoo is beautiful. Loved artic bird exhibit.

The BRONX Zoo, located in the heart of The Bronx, one of the 5 boroughs of New York City, it is the largest metropolitan zoo in the US and among the largest in the world. The 265 acre zoo houses its large and diverse animal collection, and award winning exhibitions. Here you will find the Congo Gorilla Forest, Wild Asia Monorail, Jungle World, Madagascar, World of Reptiles, World of Birds Zoo Center and an Aquarium. Group tours are highly recommended and great for family tours. Picture taking is a must, but Selfie with animals is Highly Not Recommended! (LOL) Again, a word of caution, do not wonder around The Bronx, you do not want to be in the wrong part of the neighborhood.

The Bronx zoo is huge. So many different animals and exhibits. Get there at opening to miss the crowds, lines and sun. We spent the whole day there, my wife, 15 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son.

Went with my family and friends this past weekend and had a great time ! So glad we have such an awesome place to being our children to to learn about animals and nature . There are so many fun things to do from zip lining to an animated dinosaur safari. Can't wait to go back during the holidays and see the zoo all decked out !

#1 Believe me get the all included ticket. #2 You will need all day. #3 So worth going. We took the train and walked, we should have waited for the short bus, the walk was a little long for a day of walking. We arrived around 11:30 and had lunch first thing, no lines and didn't need to stop all day. Lunch was $25 for 2. Will take a picnic next time and save the cost. Treat yourself with your packed picnic or afternoon snack to the out of this world fries. Hit the tram first while the animal are eating and before they head to the other side for shade. We didn't go on the Dinosaur Safari because of line if is important to you try first. We will be going back and can't wait.

Best zoo in America. Just don't go on Wednesday's. It's free to all. City kids and all annoying people take FULL advantage of the hand out that they are so accustomed to. Do your Self and your family a favor and go any other day. Wednesdays should be avoided

Huge place. Keep at least 5 hours to spend here as you have to walk around a lot. The zoo closes at a specific time. We reached late. So were not able to see the penguins and the reptile section.

The park is large and supposedly have a lot of animals but good luck seeing them. Don t know why Bronx zoo cannot be more like the San Diego zoo where you can actually SEE the animals instead of just empty habitats.

Basically what you expect from the zoo. I took off 1 star for the monorail experience because we didn't see many animals on the ride. It was a Saturday & not crowded at all. I learned my lesson & will never go on a Wednesday(free admission day) again. It was brutal, the line to get in stretched all the way to the next avenue & it was too crowded inside to see anything. I guess if you're going on a Wednesday go EARLY!

I've been to the bronx zoo plenty of times before but this time was ridiculous, the crowd was just to much, I understand Wednesday's are free and it was spring break for the kids, I mean I went for the same reasons but, they have to have some kind of limit as to how many people can be in the park, it was so uncomfortable and my kids didn't get to see anything the lines were so long

I love this zoo. You get awesome deals on Wednesday. You will enjoy the long walk in those awesome trails under green summer leafy canopy. Only trouble is finding a shuttle when you need one. I found it hard to find out thr pickup points near parking lot B.

First visit and it was great. Easy access from the train station, two blocks away. The parking lot assistants were so good directing traffic and keeping everything under control. Beautiful animals! I enjoyed the experience..

We were here from open to close and it was absolutely worth it. You're going to need all day to see everything and purchasing the all access pass is a must. Pass grants you all day tram rides and access to attractions like the Wild Asia Monorail and Jungle World. Those things alone are worth the extra price, though, Dinosaur Safari, not so much, but kids may like it. Also, coming to the zoo on Wednesday is free, so if you can make that happen, make sure to buy the all access pass anyway. Would definitely come here again.

The zoo is very good and everything is on point with animals, but one very bad thing is the price of the drink and food. I got regular bottle soda for $ 4.34 which is way to high for a drink. Dropping down price would be hard but it is more valuable than people coming in finding out the price and getting upset. PS come with your own drink and food

Superb experience we had. Nice place to spend with friends, family, kids also alone.. because in zoo actually no one is alone . My kid enjoyed thoroughly and throughout the day she was so enthusiastic to see each and every corner of it but it's too big to cover by walk so they do have free travel services and also the main attraction Dinosaur safari will take you on a open bus type ride and with lots of information about every kind. Another big attraction is the Bengali Monorail.. that's awesome but have most of the time huge crowd around and have to wait 10-14 minutes.. but that's worth it..n there is cafeteria near to farm animals (bit smelly ) and wider space to sit. One can buy foods to feed the farm animals..we did and my kid enjoyed a lot. Also there is sanitizing area where you can get hand sanitizer and water.
It's a must visit place specially during summer with kid and please check all the services and details.. because some of the days they stop the internal drop off and pick up train travel service for the maintenance.

Exelent

Good, but disappointed that the monorail, camels and elephants were closed. When we entered at the Bronx River Gate, there was a waterfall and dam that was in desperate need of cleaning!!! The first thing we saw as we entered the zoo was sewage!!

One of the best zoos in the United States. If you're in NY visiting, try and squeeze it into your itinerary. It will take all day to see it all and remember to wear very comfortable shoes because you may be walking for miles. The WCS is a wonderful organization that does great things for all wildlife, not just here in NYC. They are worldwide and each visit to the zoo helps to support the cause. So go out, bring your family/friends and enjoy the Bronx zoo. And if you're a resident and enjoy visiting the zoo, become a member of the WCS. You'll save money, save animals and have a great time doing it.

Beautiful place with beautiful animals and birds around.. if you want to enjoy everything and be able to see everything in one day, you should be visiting early like around 11am because the zoo is very big, you will have to walk a lot and it closes at 5:30pm nowadays (house of reptiles closes earlier).. also there are many restrooms available and few places to sit relax and eat.. and the main thing is keep sufficient water with you!

Unfortunately this review is not good. I normally love the bronx zoo. we attempted the holiday lights tonight for my son's bday and it was quite literally a zoo. Even with timed tickets the place was packed. No one was controlling anything. We have done a lot during Covid-19 but this was by far the worst we have experienced. No one felt safe. Bumper to bumper people. No one was socially distancing. We had to skip a lot due to crowds. I'm not sure what I expected but it wasn't that. Do not recommend this year if you are abiding by CDC guidelines. Lights are beautiful and I would love to go back next year. Just wish I didn't feel so uncomfortable this year.

Great place for a family day or a birthday event. The whole family had a blast. There were animals from all parts of the world, activities specific for kids with prizes, events, plays and dancing for all, a children zoo, the kids got to feed and pet the animals, camel rides, the monorail was a wonderful treat and the kids got to learn about animals that are endangered and how they can help them.
