As always a great experience. We had thoughts that because it's winter time there wouldn't be much to see or do. With a little help of mild weather and indoor exhibits, it was a great 6 hours.

Great variety of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained. Animals seemed liked they were well cared for. I would suggest bringing your own lunch/snacks/drinks as the food prices are high. No one checks your bags upon entry.

Incredible experience for the entire family. We enjoyed all of the animal exhibits. Our favorite stops are to see the Brown Bears and Silverback Gorillas. If you want to see the large cats i.e., the lions, tigers, and leopards, go early when it is cooler.

One of the world's largest metropolitan zoo, the Bronx Zoo transports visitors to foreign land through which countless species can be observed and learned about. Sitting in Bronx Park, the Bronx Zoo shares a vast and untouched landscape with The New York Botanical Garden, and like its sister, is a staple of the Bronx and New York City. Aside from the enormous selection of animals that can be found in the Bronx Zoo and in many cases, the beautiful structures of architecture which house them, through programs and various projects the Wildlife Conservation Society offers visitors many opportunities through which they can be educated and volunteer in the realm wild nature.

It's a great family destination. Note: when the zoo opens it's very busy I suggest arrive earlier than 10am. Paying in advance is a good idea but you will still have to wait on line. Get a membership to avoid the waiting. Our family always has a great time they talked about all the animals for days.

Some animals have lots of space. But I was heart broken to see two of America's national birds American Bald Eagles in a tiny outside enclosure. Maybe the birds were injured but they both stayed on the ground. While they did not look in distress they didn't have any room to fly. They didn't even move around. I was dumfounded to see them in this state after what I know about raptors. I also saw Condors being fed rats. They too had no outside space to fly.

My wife and I have been WCS members for decades. We fell In love with each other coming to this zoo after college classes 20 years ago. It was an amazing experience then and it still is now. We love the member exclusive events, and coming here with our own children who have many fond memories here now as well. They are continually renovating and expanding which I don't think detracts from the magic of the zoo, constant attention to the animals is their main goal and it shows. I think new Yorkers take the zoo for granted, it really is one of the best in the country.

If you have kids and live in the city the Bronx Zoo is a must.
Please be mindful that Wednesday it's suggestion donation for admissions and it can be extremely busy and chaotic.
They have seasonal displays, and it can take 2-3 trips to really do all the activities.
The kids always enjoy it

I've been able to enjoy this zoo as a small child and I was able to chaperone a trip for my daughters school. The kids had an amazing time! We had the total experience which we didn't know until half way through the day. It grants you access to all the little fun exhibits, like the children's zoo, the zoo shuttle and the carousel. Wear comfy sneakers because you will walk a LOT!

I'm shocked always by the size of this zoo Everytime I come to visit. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. There is a large amount of exhibits. I do recommend you come early to the zoo as it gets far busier as the day goes on. We arrived at 9:30am and we're able to see all the exhibits, no problem. Around 2pm, it began to get more crowded.

We love the show The Zoo and watch it religiously. They seem to be all about conservation and have what is best for these animals at heart. We couldn t wait to go. We had two days in NYC and chose to spend one of them here. If you love zoos this is NOT the zoo for you. Most sections had bushes and weeds overgrown, very little staff to answer questions or to help you find your way around. We were so excited to go and we re so disappointed. I M glad they are helping so many animals, but for us this was not a zoo worth visiting.

Wednesday is free so if you don't like crowds, stay away on that day. Place us beautiful. I like how a lot of the animals aren't in cages. Very clean. You can by a season pass and it counts as a deduction on your taxes... Love taken my daughter and niece to the zoo. They have a great time viewing the animals and going on the bug carousel.

Zoo did a great job of managing the crowds for safety and full enjoyment of the different habitats. We especially enjoyed seeing the giraffes, lions, and reptiles.

Pro tip is to pay for parking in advance. There was a line for the payment kiosks when we exited the park.

One of the best zoos in the U.S. with tons of attractions. It is not too far from Manhattan, and you can get there easily with your NYC Metrocard. Tickets are pretty expensive in my opinion, and they ll run you $40 a pop for an adult or $30 for children between ages 3 and 12. However, it is worth it to note that you can enter the zoo for FREE on Wednesdays.

Amazing experience.

Amazing experience.
Staff well knowledged. Wed is free. But the 14$ pass is well worth it. You will not be disappointed

We had a great day at the Bronx zoo. My boyfriend took me there for my birthday. Spending the day walking through the park and seeing all the animals and exhibits was a nice way to spend my birthday. It was good to see that the zoo was kept clean and the best part was we went during the week so there were no long lines to see the exhibits. It was a wonderful day all around.

Always a pleasure going to the zoo glad that its open cause i got the opportunity to bring my boyfriend who had never gone to the zoo ever and was thrilled about it and wanted to come back again next week to see more.

We took advantage of the free Wednesday admission. Pathways are wide and the walk was pleasant. Even though out was cold, there were still a number of animals out and we got to see most of the big cats. The giraffes are housed in a building accessible to the public when it is cold. I can't comment on much more as that was all we managed in the time we were there. Definitely recommend. One note: on Wednesday you still pay for parking which is a whopping $17 no matter how long, or short, you stay.

If you want you and your kids to have a good time,...

If you want you and your kids to have a good time, do not go to this place. Spend some money and go to Miami Zoo or another state. This Zoo is a piece of s***. First of all, you can barely see the animals because ALL of them (even the not dangerous ones) are far far far away. So, if an adult cannot see them, imagine your kid. Second of all, there are many empty spots which supposedly they are bringing new animals . Third, if you want to see everything in the zoo you have to pay more, for example, you want to see the gorillas = pay more money, you want to see the elephants = pay more money, you want to see the butterflies = pay more money (by the way there are like 3 butterflies left in the place). Oh and this is in addition to the day pass that costs like 30$. Another thing the food is extremely expensive so just take your own food and remember you have to pay 17$ for parking. And many other things but I m going to leave it there. If you don t have the money to pay something better for your kid, then go but your kid deserves better. Or just take them to Central Park, which is cheaper and they have less animals but better quality. There you go! That s my truth and I m really not happy about the experience.

MY MIXED RACE 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS ATTACKED BY ANOTHER GUEST! NOT A SAFE ZOO!!! We flew into NYC for a short weekend, one of the highlights was suppose to be the Bronx Zoo. We had been to most of the major zoos in the US and a few internationally and my 2 year old LOVES zoos more than anything in the world. As we she was sitting in her stroller as I bought a pretzel, another small child came over and started to try to gouge her eye out with his nails. At first I thought this strange kid was just playing until I saw that my daughter was bleeding. We got her cuts cleaned out and ran out of the zoo. When I called the zoo I was told "no refunds"...no refunds? My child was randomly attacked by another visitor... I thought the BRONX WAS SAFE, IT IS NOT!

Amazing!!!

I paid for the full experience and there were many main attractions that were closed. It was a nice, sunny Saturday so I'm not sure why. Also I wasn't able to see many of the animals. No grizzly bear, giraffe, leopards. The camel ride was closed, the house of reptiles. I was very disappointed. I did enjoy the monorail and the few animals I was able to actually see.
