The best zoo in nyc! There's so much to do, plan on being there the whole day. I love the new treehouse adventure
The best zoo in nyc! There's so much to do, plan on being there the whole day. I love the new treehouse adventure
Treetop adventures is great fun. Definitely worth repeating.
Good overall. It can get crowded at times which can make the experience unpleasant. Many times the animals are hard to see. Bring your own food that way you save money.
Nice place to spend with family. A lot animals to see for first time
Horrible.... Walk from car to zoo was 40 mins after paying $16 for parking. No one to tell you where you are parked, getting back to the car was a nightmare. $36 for the park, mainly trees and Chipmunks, Exhibits are so far apart you feel like your on a trail hike the whole time.
The place to go when you want to escape. You will have a fun time and make a day out of it. Consider yourself lucky to be visiting a great place.
I had a wonferful quality time with my family here. There is so much to do. It is not just all about viewing the animals in an open habitat or inside the museum walls. They have interactive and learning activities most especially for the kids. Both young and old will surely enjoy. One day isn't enough to explore this place. But I'm looking forward to coming back here again soon.
Beautiful and educational place to take a family day. Make sure to wear sensible shoes as there is a lot of ground to cover. Wednesday's are free to the public; however be mindful that you're still paying for parking. Always a wonderful day trip.
I can die a contented man. I sat in a room with a cheetah. Literally. In a room with a cheetah, looking into my eyes. Don't put it on your bucket list - do it. Your life will be better because of it.
Great place. You would need a whole day to see all animals
This a very big zoo, cannot finish it in one day. Worth taking membership, to visit multiple times. My son is 3yrs old, he loved the place.
Went with two other adults and three kids on a Wednesday, free day. We got there a little later than I wanted and had to wait on an extremely long line to get in the gate. We bought the total experience ticket, which was about $15 per person. We brought a small cooler filled with water and food, glad we did because the food and water bottles were very expensive. Overall we had a wonderful family day.
free on Wednesdays, suggested donations only. The petting zoo is a nice feature for children and adults alike. Zoo is well keep considering its size, the small falls or water way next to it is awesome, very convenient off the 2 train line! #wheresdisla @missdisla
This television drama. I say that loosely. These people seem to love their jobs and it shows in all their efforts! My favorite is the endangered species revitalization programs. Thank you ALL for sharing your ups & downs & all arounds
Such a great zoo! We spent 3 hours there and didn't see everything. Will be back for sure!
This was the only Zoo I visited in New York and I was disappointed by the price. I had to pay $80 for two tickets. Otherwise I had to pay to enter certain areas. The zoo did provide a variety of animals but the cost was definitely not worth it.
The zoo needs an update in many areas, also I brought my mother to the zoo who needs a wheelchair, the zoo is very hard to navigate pushing the chair around as well as having areas that are only accessible by stairs, lots of cracks and holes and bumps in the walk ways make it very difficult to push her up some steep hills the bathrooms also need work for the handicapped stalls, they are too small for her chair to fit with ease and hers is a standard non electric model, if someone has an electric chair that is larger they will not be able to fit in the stall
We had a blast it has been a long time since we have been there. I would do it again.
I went on Halloween. Social distancing was encouraged and hand sanitizer was everywhere. I really like the masks that were worn by everyone too. I enjoyed the zoo a lot. Definitely a fun way for my son to enjoy Halloween and show off his costume in lieu of trick or treating this year.
Great spot in the Bronx for any occasion. Out on a first date, third date or for a walk with the wife or out with the family? No matter this is a good place to come and visit see animals you wouldn't normally see up close, support a great cause all while getting to know those people who are important to you. The plus this time of the year is that it is not crowded and the colder weather seems to be more conducive to the activity of the animals, they seem much more comfortable. We witnessed Bison playing and tussling today, that's how comfortable they are in the winter weather. Cost? .... well it's a little pricey but remember you are supporting a great cause in the conservative and protection of these animals and their habitats.
I've been coming here for years with family and friends and it NEVER gets old! The care they put not only into the animals, but all their habitats and the park experience as a whole is phenomenal!
Zip lines are great for first timers but if you want a real challenge try the tree climbing.
Wednesday is $15.00 if you want to the attractions, but it gets packed fast, go early.
Hadn't been to the zoo in 20 years. My aunt and uncle were visiting so decided to take them for their 1st time. Took advantage of free Wednesday. Paid $16.00 for parking and about $14
per person to get into exhibits. We had a great day. Even though the zoo was crowded lines to the exhibits were pretty short. The only thing I recommend is to bring your own lunch and drinks. A bottle of water and soda will set you back $4 each. Overall it was great to go back. Saw a lot of animals. Lots of walking so bring sensible shoes.
Always a great time!!!! Love the Bronx Zoo. Find something new every visit.
Sprawling zoo with tree filled paths in between animal habitats. Lots of social distancing signage and sanitizer stations. Felt safe and had a lot of fun! So much to see it's worth a whole day trip.
Dinosaur ride was cool, always love the reptile house, alligators and the giraffes the best. Well maintained, good food and cute souvenir store where I got a hilarious sloth shirt for my lady
The Bronx Zoo is one of the members of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) along with the New York Aquarium,Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and Prospect Park Zoo are dedicated to bringing great zoological experiences to the masses. They are succeeding in their mission indeed. Two weeks ago we visited the NY Aquarium and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibitions and we continued our zoological journey today at the Bronx Zoo.The dedicated professionals at both venues work to help you appreciate Wildlife Conservation and it's larger role in our ecological systems around the globe.I definitely recommend visiting any of these great institutions soon.Make sure you bring along as many family members as you can because there is something for young and old to see and learn. The monorail is a treat as the driver also doubles as a very knowledgeable tour guide as you travel through the park and the various animal enclosure.A real treat and worth the price of admission.
Something good about Bronx zoo I like on Gorilla. But over all My experience in Bronx Zoo was not that satisfying. It should have some more animals.
Oh my gosh, the Bronx Zoo is new and improved. You definitely have to ride the camel
Obviously the highlight of the trip was our Cheetah Encounter. But the whole zoo really is great. I love hearing about all the conservation efforts the zoo has participated in over the years, and the show on Animal Planet offers viewers a very intimate behind-the-scenes look at the zoo.
Awsome we loved it. When you get too tired of walking you can go to the indoor exhibits
This Place is huge make sure you look at the map before you go in and select what areas you want to go. If not you will waste a lot of time trying to find out what and where you want to do and go. We were not able to see the entire zoo. Be aware that some animals might be sleeping and away from your sight like the tiger and the Lion. The Lion sea in the other hand was one of my favorite shows they are very visible and playful. The kids zoo is actually more to see than the zoo itself. Bring your own food because its very expensive inside and also don t waste your time buying the whole experience pass just get the admission and pay as you go it will be cheaper that way as the experiences are very far from each other and you might not get to all.
The Holiday.of Lights and Safari Lantern display during December is beautiful. Great for every age. Something to enjoy every season.
Always magical when you love Nature and its creations, my kids just can't get enough of it.
The Bronx Zoo is amazing for the whole family to enjoy
Great zoo in the Northeast. Wasn't planning on going there but a great mistake if you will. Great to pass some time and just relive your youth.
One of the best zoo near New Jersey
Kids would love to go again n again. Ziplin is good experience for young n adults.
This zoo never disappoints. I have always enjoyed visiting
Free every Wednesday. Great place to explore alone or with kids. Wear your most comfortable sneakers.
Truly a great zoo. I saw a good amount of animals I have never seen before including the fossas. I love how they've done the different geographic houses as well as the regular exhibits. The whole park was very clean and the staff in the gift shops was extremely friendly. Definitely worth going to see if youre in the area
First time here, big zoo with great animals and I liked the layout..
It's a really cool place to go with kids. Your gonna need 2 while days to visit the whole zoo and get the full experience.
I would like to thank everyone at the Bronx Zoo for following regulations with the pandemic and keeping the place sanitize and safe for everyone in their used... I'm so happy we can continue with our life and able to visit the Zoo with the family. I recommend every to come and enjoy it.
What a beautiful day at the Bronx Zoo with my lovely wife on her birthday!!!
Huge! Lots to see. The Children's zoo is wonderful and fun to get up close and feed the animals .
One of the best Zoo's I've ever visited. The zoo manages to keep its old school charm with early twentieth century buildings & natural setting. While you're there you forget that it's located in the Bronx, it's a glimpse into the past. Lots of animals to check out, definitely give yourself 4-5 hours to see it all.
This is a great zoo. It's huge, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they've got a great variety of animals, some I haven't seen anywhere else. The staff cares a great deal for the animals and it shows in both the exhibits and in the casual interactions I witnessed between the employees and the animals. If you haven't paid them a visit, I recommend doing so.
This is the largest zoo in the United States and it's almost too big to see everything in a day. Some of the best exhibits are Congo for the gorillas, Madagascar, butterfly house, and the new children's zoo (worth going to even if you're not a kid). The other zoos in NYC are smaller but nice too!
The zoo is pretty and relaxing place to be in the Fall with the foileage. I wish that the animals especially the eagles and other large birds have better living space.. I know the real estate is prime everywhere in NYC, but perhaps a better design can overcome the space limitations.
Free admission for everyone on Wednesdays. $15 for the "upgraded package" which includes the monorail and couple more attractions. Good deal
Really nice zoo, the only thing is that in winter there are some exhibitions close, but the rest everything good including the coffee shop. Wednesdays still free admission.
Something to check out while in the bronx
Always have fun when i go with the family
Been there years ago and had a horrible experience. Unfortunately I had forgotten it until this visit brought back the tiring and boring memories. Will never revisit or recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time at a zoo. It is too huge with very little to see. You will definitely be exhausted after miles of walking less than half of the way. Exhibits are far from each other, which is tiring especially under the sun. It is very pricy around $32 per person for total experience, which was a total waste in my opinion. At the counter the lady said, if you get just the general admission, then you will not be able to see this and that and this and that and trust me even with the total experience, I did not see much. I went through almost the whole zoo and it ended up being a boring experience again. Take my advice. Go to Prospect park zoo, it is 10 times better though it may not have big animals such as elephants and giraffes but it is MUCH less walking with sooo much to see and much cheaper. Or go to six flags safari. otherwise do as you wish and experience yourself.
Bronx Holiday Lights was such a great experience. I recommend everyone go. The lights were Beautiful and the puppets were fun too. I would go back again. Hot coco and snacks to enjoy. Smore's station and Bar for Adults great touch.
Beautiful! Love the zoo. Emphasis on conservation! Lots of fun for kids and adults! So much to see. Much to learn about animals, habitats. Great experience!
My only complaint is that I didn't go sooner. Free admission Wednesdays.
The Bronx zoo is awesome. Many different animals and pretty big. Not sure if you can cover the whole zoo in one day. The staff are great
Well organized. Animals have lots of open space and the grounds are well maintained. Concession stands throughout the zoo were closed. This may be the end of the season but it was still the season. One couldn't help but feel that this was an aging zoo.
What a fun place..so many things to see but get there early because the animals get put away for closing ..
It is a beautiful place to take your family, my kids love the Bronx Zoo.
This zoo is amazing! There are loads of animals to see and enjoy. The zoo was kept very clean and the animals looked like they were kept well. Definitely try to visit on a Wednesday when it's pay-what-you-like admission. I definitely recommend it!
Had A Blast! Lots To See And The Gorilla Enclosure Was Beyond Amazing
It's a zoo. Seemed more fun when I was a kid.
Made the mistake of going on a Wednesday when school was out and it was beyond packed. A lot of exhibits were closed or hard to get to.
Make sure you bring your own beverages and snacks. Find somewhere else to have a meal, unless you're a wealthy person. Sure, admission was free, but almost $4.50 for a bottle of soda was disgustingly overpriced - and that's the cheapest thing you're able to buy. I would have got the cup to go get refills, but most of the stands in the zoo are closed this time of year, but they neglect to tell you that part. And for what you wpuld pay on a normal day, they are insanely rude to be charging that much for what they serve you.
Really nice zoo. Pretty big, can't cover in a single day, try the membership and go many times.
A must see! Must do! Never get tired of this constantly evolving, place! Great for all!
Awesome!! I love it! For all ages. Educational. I love mother nature.
Lots of natural habitat, hard to find entrances work a car
Awesome just awesome I love it felt like a kid again amazing Place amazing staff just awesome
It's amazing and there is so much to see it will take you the whole day.
We spent 6 hours there and still didn't get to see all of it. Glad we purchased the WCS membership. Get to go back later this year.
Always fun. Great zoo great people. Reasonable day price tickets. Buy online is good.
Always love the zoo, so nice to be able to walk around outdoors and see the animals during this pandemic. Zoo was very empty so felt safe, no crowds or people in top of you. Was sad the gorillas were not outside but got to see 3 of them in the indoor portion. You need to make a reservation now online. Wednesdays are free which is great and you have the option of buying all the extra exhibits for only $9.99 extra which it's normally $6 per enterance once you're in the park.
I love this zoo i got at least 3 times in the summer
I have gone a couple times on Wednesdays. The line on Wednesdays is no joke. However, the last time I went, there was a gate other than the main gate, where they were accepting Zoo goers. Barely any wait time. I don't know the area enough to direct someone to that gate though.
IMPORTANT!! WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!!!
You will do a lot of walking! Know what animals you want to see! Get a map!!! Enjoy!!
Also, the sea lion feeding is a must see. So find out the time b4 or when you get there.
Very large Zoo with plenty to see and do. Great range of animals including Giraffes, Gorilla's, Monkeys, Birds, Lions, Tigers, Snow Leopards and More. The Storks 4D film is also worth watching. It is worth having a full experience ticket to be able to enter all of the smaller exhibits without limits.
After completing a feedback survey I was able to claim free entry to Central Park zoo which while much smaller is also worth a visit.
A wonderful experience for out-of-towners or native New Yorkers. Easily navigated, with ample facilities for rest stops and snacks throughout. In the midst of Covid-19, the helpful staff manages to keep the public safe and tempers in check all day long.
What a horrible experience we had yesterday. Despite having to reserve your tickets in advance, the zoo was packed with zero social distancing and many people without masks or properly worm masks. It was so stressful that we had to leave early. What a disappointment.
