What can I Day?? The Bronx Zoo is simply the Best!! Do the Membership and.Go !! Go Frequently and bring the kids, the grandkids!!
It's a Great Day!!
Always love the Bronx Zoo. They are taking great precautions for COVID. Staff is always great
It is a great way to get away from the city for a day. It is so large you may need a few trips to truly enjoy all it has to offer.
The Bronx Zoo is a lot of fun to go to. Even with COVID, the experience was pretty fun. I went with my boyfriend and his grandma. We rented a wheelchair for his grandma so she wouldn t have trouble walking around the whole zoo, since the zoo is pretty big! The rental was smooth and the staff were very helpful and cleaned up the wheelchair. The zoo wasn t too crowded because of COVID and a lot of the exhibits were still open too which was great. The staff throughout the zoo were helpful and were doing their best to clean up the areas. At the end of the day, we were pretty tired from walking around the whole zoo but it was worth it!
Not everything was open had to stand on line for lunch for over a half hour. Not many big animals there either.
Amazing experience. It's difficult to see everything in one day because there's so much to see. Every exhibit is worth seeing.
The tram tour gets crowded quickly and the line can easily be over 30 minutes. Highly recommend beating the crowd and heading to the tram early.
My only complaint is the lack of decent food options.
Bronx zoo is very big and many different animals. I have not been there about 2 years and decided to take my mother for Mother's Day. I was very disappointed because they were charging us for all inclusive price ( included all rides and admissions). It cost about 34 dollars. The price board did not show the general admission price, which it's 19 dollars only. I had to question it to the staffs so he could let us know about the general admission. In addition, the difference between senior and reg admissions is just 2 dollars. Very disappointed that this supposed to be a zoo and let people to learn about animals. However, it is just about money making. Very disappointed.
I've been to the zoo before but never realize it was so big and so much to see really a great place to go.
Skinny and bad maintained species. Depressing place for animal lover. Not recommended at all. Don t waste your time and money
The best way to enjoy the zoo is getting a membership.
It was a beautiful day; the animals were out and there were many informative signs. Plus, I like knowing that the money from admission goes to help save the animals via research, educating the public, as well as breeding programs- i.e. saving the American Bison via the Bronx Zoo breeding program. There would not be any Bison in the wild w/o the Bronx Zoo!
Loved the zoo but suggestion to anyone going to the Bronx Zoo is to being your own food! Would be way better and cheaper. Even bring your own drinks you'll thank yourself.
Holiday Night Event was great! We lucked out because it was not too cold. We may go back again next year!
Great zoo and LOTS of things to see. If you plan on coming here I strongly recommend two things:
1. Do NOT and I repeat DO NOT come here on a Wednesday. Wednesday s are donation days meaning that it s packed to the brim with people.
2. Come close to opening time because there are so many attractions to see and you will be there the whole day making sure you ve seen everything.
The dinosaur safari was OK. Not great, not bad. It was a short fun little ride seeing different robotic dinosaurs, but nothing that blew me out of the water.
The sea lions are always a great attraction and feeding time is once at 11 am and another at 3 pm. Everyone loves it as the sea lions do some neat tricks putting smiles on everyone s face.
The gorillas are my favorite attraction by far. Every time I ve been there they never disappoint and are always such fun creatures to analyze and view.
The giraffe is a wonderful exhibit, but turtle back zoo rivals them with both view and you can t feed them at the Bronx zoo which turtle back zoo has another advantage over.
The tiger exhibit is nice, but difficult to see the tiger due to how awkwardly the exhibit is setup.
All in all we rate it a neutral. Our favorite attraction is always the sea lions, gorillas and feeding area. I DO recommend it, but be prepared to not see as much if you don t come in time and if you don t see many animals it s because the land they are on is so big that they are off into the distance minding their own business and aren t there to be in your face.
Free entrance on Wednesdays. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes.
Been coming here since I was about 6 years old. Take all my kids, nieces, and nephews here too! Always a fun day and a good time with animals!
Very big. Very expensive. Will charge you extra for many things.
Absolutely stunning. We and my spouse went to this zoo and had a wonderful time. The exhibits we're amazing. The majority of the animals were out and visible. All the attractions were also worth the amount of money for admission. There's a ton of other things as well that was fantastic about this zoo .But it if I talked about it all, this wouldn't be a review, it would be a thesis paper.
Well maintained and very good zoo....every wednesday it is free admission excluding "Total Experience" exhibits.
One of the best zoo's on the way coast
Plenty to see, clean, can do it in one day
This is one of the best zoos in the country. There is free admission on Wednesdays.
Bought the total experience tickets and it was definitely worth it if you want to see the good stuff. I took my kids and it took us 5 hours to see everything the zoo had. Will take them again.
Ok being a zoo. Not very exciting but, well kept. The animals seem to love it there.
This is one of the best zoos in the country. The Bronx Zoo is a great place to bring the family.
It is a fun place for little ones and adults but be warned. Weekends, holidays and Wednesdays it is very crowded especially during the holiday season. Food is overpriced and not that great so pack your own and wear your walking shoes.
Had a great time with my daughter but she really wanted to see the butterfly garden but it cost extra. Was very upset because we went on free Wed. Anything on there map highlighted in yellow is charged for. At least we saw the tiger up very close and it made the trip in traffic worth it
I Had a wonderful time at the Holidays lights with the family. Great pictures, but i should have went earlier we could have seen the great park. Now we have go back on another day to see the park.
Wednesday are free but,,they look for contributions ,,not much of anything is showcase however the psrk has liighting display at nite,,beautiful
Great zoo! Learned a lot and all the great efforts they do for conservation and rescues of animals. We were there the whole day and still were not able to see everything! We absolutely look forward to coming here again and recommend it to everyone. Also, the staff was super helpful and polite and the whole zoo was very clean and well kept!
I had a great time every one should go to the zoo just time and you will love the experience
Was there on Wednesday in August, when general admission is free. I expected heavy crowds, but because tge forecast was for rain, it wasn't bad at all. The animals looked like they weren't enjoying the heat though.
It was a class trip but it was fun. I do plan on going back just me & my daughter so we can take our time & enjoy it more. Overall had a great time.
The ZOO? It should be called a ghost town! The only animals we seen were the sea lions.....every other animal was M.I.A...... the food was disgusting and over priced! Never again! Not even in a free day
Clean and respectful employees that are always willing to help you
Great place for an amazing learning experience for families and kids especially!
Love the Zoo, on weekends and holidays get there as early as you can.
On member's night they release deer into the lion paddock.
It's a zoo. Good exhibits you pay a little extra for. We went in April and some animals are less active or are still indoors.
It's a nice place to go and spend time with the family but there's a lot of walking so be prepared
Pretty empty rn so that's fun, staff was super nice and helpful and overall an enjoyable time.
Its good place for the while family or friends couplease anyone amd also its free every wednesday . If you want to ride the others sruff you have to pay 14 dollars each person but nice animals ...free the aminals
Haven't been here in few years but took my girls who are 15 and 11 ,we had a blast . It was not only educational but interesting and amazing to see all the beautiful animals, it truly is a must see Zoo!
Amazing zoo. Get the total experience ticket to enjoy it all.
I have to admit I was expecting more from the largest zoo in New York. Maybe it's because of the season but there are very few large animals and they are far between. The park it self is really nice and well maintained so it still makes for a nice day of walking around.
Overall the zoo was amazing. Brought back memories of when I was a child and my parents took me to this zoo and now I was able to pass it down to my children. The downside is there were too many schools and it was hard to see certain exhibits without having to get pushed and most of these classes were loud and rude. There should be a schedule where only schools have admissions on a specific day, That way families can get their money worth. Other than that everything was great!!
Amazing place, full of fun and knowledge for kids of all ages.
A little pricey, but definitely worth the money.
I love the zoo and so does my grand child. We had fun.
Great place to visit. Especially in October for Boo @ The Zoo. There's a lot of cool events for the whole family.
Fun place to spend you time esp. on Wednesday when it is free.
Nice place to take the family, pretty nice animal collection and occasional ticketed events like Brew at the Zoo which offer a nice way to experience the park for adults or the less naturally inclined.
Had such a great day. Only bad thing is on hot days hard to see some animals.
Loved it but we we're disappointed more animals were not in the enclosure we came a long ways Florida just to come to this zoo.
Still one of my most favorite places to go! If you have s family of 4 or more and plan on going more than once a year, get the membership!!! SO worth it!!!
Worked out right for us and getting there at 10 am is the right time if you want to see it all
Amazing. I love the zoo a lot. They have lots of animals. They are missing some animals but I asked a woman that works there and she said they are coming soon. Although you need to educate some of your staff.
Really great experience. Very clean and the staff there were exceptional. Food is reasonably priced and it costs $36.95 per adult for full access to all exhibits , rides and attractions. Will definitely return.
So many animals and not enough time to see them all. Amazing zoo to be placed in the Bronx. I only wish I could have seen more.
This is the best zoo I have ever been to. I took my 4yo son and he loved it. It was a long way to get there from Manhattan, one hour taxi ride there and 75 mins subway trek back. But totally worth it. The range of animals was incredible and the grounds are just stunning. You can tell the animals are really cared about and their enclosures are spotlessly clean and they all have large areas, they look happy and content. We went in late Fall so the train and shuttle weren't running, so it was a long day of walking. Most eating areas were all closed, but there was one cafe open. I would recommend going to this zoo as a must for a NY visit if you love animals.
What to not like about this place. Its hard to imagine a zoo of such a scale residing within a metropolitan. The upkeep of the zoo is top notch. Wildlife landscape is superb, you have everything from sea lions to polar bears to gorillas. You will find all sort of animal species that you know and then a host of species which you probably didn't know anything about. Its a big zoo so make sure you reach close to opening time, because the zoo closes relatively early. Also download the official mobile app before you got there.
The Ultimate Zoo that I have gone to. The price, the Value, the size, the people, the diversity it just out does any other urban zoo I have been to.
Very nice, clean for a zoo, good outdoor spaces to eat.
Really a fabulous Zoo to Visit. All the sections are very compact.
Recommend to buy Total experience ticket as most of the attractions and rides are part of the Total experience package.
Great day, love the tigers and gorilla exhibits. You won't believe you are in the Bronx, near trains, highways, etc.
Skip the 4D movie, it is not animal, wildlife or conservation related, why go to the zoo to see an indoor cartoon.
It was really nice, cold but a good morning enjoyed.
Went in January. Almost no one else was around. Bathrooms always clean, great and friendly staff. Great time.
it's really big and nice place. so many animals. it's a good choice to go with children.
Great experience, went twice, this covid-19 madness messed up my summer plans but the zoo really saved us this year I'll Definitely will be going more often! Really recommend it great place for kids
Beautiful place. My little brother loves to come and see the birds and the monkeys.
All the animals have a personality and the staff teach you about animal conservation too
