I ve visited many Zoos around the country and the world but The Bronx Zoo tops my list as a favorite.
Tiger Mountain and Congo are my favorite exhibits.
There is free entry on Wednesday which makes it affordable but very crowded enemy school is not in session.
If you can afford membership it is worthwhile and gives entrance to other WCS zoos.

Bronx Zoo is spectacular! I absolutely cannot get enough of seeing all of the animals! I enjoy walking and exploring the zoo because it makes for great exercise and I get to see soany interesting things!, The fresh air, the views and all of the diversity represented with different types of animals makes this a wonderful place to visit!

I took my family for the 1st time at the end of March. It was a nice day, still a little chill in the air. Overall we saw alot of animals and the Zoo wasnt overly crowded.
We will be going back again after the weather warms up!

Very nice experience, both for my 4 yo and 12 yo AND adults. I wish it was a shorter drive. And DO ger their Prime membership, if you have 3+ kids especially. It will save you money even if you go there twice a year.

One of the great zoos in the world, it is headquarters to the Wildlife Conservation Society, which runs all the NYC zoos. Its huge wooded site is beautiful in its own right, especially notable are the well-preserved original Victorian buildings with their spectacular animal sculptures and friezes, so be sure to look up when exploring the central quad.

An international treasure. I have loved going to the Bronx Zoo since 1982. They do such amazing work around the world. The exhibits are wonderful, giving the animals more and more space. Two complaints, why is World of Darkness closed. I stood in line to visit it on the first day it opened. The information plaques have gotten very brief and cursory, with very little information about the animals.

Great zoo. The place is tremendous. They have a trolley to help get you around the park. I believe you can even opt for a private tour. It's a little on the expensive side for admission but well worth it. Also found out that every Wednesday is free admission. Plenty of additional stuff for the kids, face painting, carousel, petting zoo. Plenty of concession stands and you get even get a beer.

I really like Bronx zoo, it's huge and you get introduced to so many animals that you wouldn't be able to ever see if you don't like to explore nature. I have been there three times already and I still want to go again. What's another great option that they have is free admission on Wednesday, or you can donate whatever you want to the zoo.

This place exceed my expectations, we spent 4 hours there and it wasn t enough to see everything. Huge territory, very knowledgeable and helpful stuff. Based on previous reviews we avoided free Wednesday and went there on Thursday and it was very good decision, it wasn t crowded and we had chance to enjoy our visit. Definitely will be back

My girl and I enjoyed it so much and it was in the winter! So many attractions I recommend starting early we started at 2 and the place closed at 4:30 at the time and we didn't even see 1/4 of the park. Place is beautiful fun for the entire family!

This is the best zoo in America. I suggest strongly that you go. Some people say that the animals are to far away and you can t see them but that because that is what they need, wide open spaces, they need that to keep them happy and healthy.

Great place, we took the grandson who loves animals he had a great time, it is a little expensive, and also the parking was $17 on top of the $65 for two adults, and children 2 and under are free. Being winter still, several of the exhibits are closed for the season.

Visited first weekend of Jan 2019. Winter.
Parking - $17
Entering NYC Toll - $15
Entry fee $30 each adult and $20 children.

Just until here you ll feel so you really have to visit this place. BUT it s worth every cent.

They ve maintained it so neatly, even though it s winter there were so many animals outside and some animals sensitive to weather was kept indoors. Since it s winter there was no stores opened inside for food, luckily we carried our own food.

There are so many animals, at some point I forgot I m in middle of New York City, except when those irritating flight take off landing sounds, as few airports are near by.

We were able to see American bison, lion, tiger, bears, deers, alligators, wide range of birds, monkeys and so many other animals.

carousel ride was very nice and we were able to enjoy it since it wasn t crowded. Must visit place for every age. Kids will love it and of course adults will too. If you visit in summer you ll probably need two days to cover whole area.

Enjoy.

The best zoo in the entire world. This zoo is HUGE. You absolutely cannot tour this entire zoo in one day. It will take at least a week. This is the best place to take a girlfriend or date out to!

All the animals are well-cared for here. My favorite are the peacocks thay randomly walk around and show thier feathers to you. There is an exhibit for every animal you can imagine. You will probably be greeted by two seals in a huge body of water as you enter, really cool to see. I havnt been to this zoo in years, and honestly, I'm itching to go back. It is probably my most favorite place to go to in all of NYC!

We went to see the Holiday Lights show and it was the cutest thing ever! It was easy to park, check in and visit the park overall. Very well done and a sweet and innovative way to show you "all" the animals in the zoo.

We went there with our Mom, we need to walk a lot. So, wear comfortable shoes and do carry your jackets it always a bit there. I couldnt see red panda, tiger and polar beer there. I didnt like the food there.

Beautiful day at the zoo. But I really miss the polar bears, any plans to adopt some new ones. Was sad to see their old habitat filled in with trees. I've been visiting them since I was a kid, I'll be 64 in the fall!

Beautiful scenery and unless you travel extensively, you will never see these live animals in rather natural habitat. Problem with bees at eating locations. Food selections are limited. Try the monorail and take a camera. Wednesday is free and crowded.

A wonderful place. The membership plays for it self basically with only having to pay the small fee for parking and any food gotten. All the animals were wonderful and great exhibits.

Total experience is worth the amusement, edutainment and a funfilled memorable family get together. We took 10% off online purchase, then I came to know that you can get 20% off for Optimum triple play customers. We started with Congo, African park, Nature trek, Monorail, JungleWorld and lunch. Took a shuttle ride to Tiger Mountain, Brids nest, fountain, sea lions, Madagascar, Children zoo, butterfly park, Carousal and 4D movies. We could have avoided - Butterfly park- only 4 butterflies found and 4D movies is not that impressive. Overall it was a wonderful experience for the whole family. Dont miss Nature trek, Congo and Children park...

A treat for all seasons with world class biodiversity in state-of-the-art habitats as well as truly impactful educational components equally engaging for any age. Seeing these breathtaking animals up close makes you understand why wildlife conservation is such a vital and honorable pursuit.

where were the workers.
I did come after 12 even though the zoo closes at 5 pm to avoid all the kids that came for a trip, but there still are kids with their parents .
On Wednesdays every animal isn't included to see; but there were plenty to the point I have to go back.

Always a great idea to spend a beautiful day outdoors visiting the Zoo. Great environment, friendly staff, amazing animals. There is so much to learn, and the zoo is really well organized.

The Bronx Zoo was chaotic and unorganized. The total experience tickets cost more money than a regular ticket which allows access to all the exhibits so you would expect to skip the lines for the exhibits. They have 1 line which includes people who have not purchased tickets for that exhibit so now you have to wait for them to buy the ticket. People with prepaid tickets should have their own line. Most exhibits had a line to see the animals. Bathrooms are poorly positioned in the park and there are not enough of them. Would have been nice to see more of the park but there were way too many people to even wait in line. Good luck trying to find someone that works there for assistance. Never going back again.

I hope the shuttle was decent. I doesn't stop at a lot of places in the park and I wish one could hop on and hop off also. It's just primative that one can only get in at some points and at some points one can only get off. That way people can cover more of the park than walk miles inside. Also try to find parking at the streets nearby to save $15.

I had a great time today. Was a bit chilly but inside the Bronx zoo felt warmer. It was free. I love that they give people a chance to go one day out of the week to see the animals. My son loved it too. He learned about new animals. He even learned the names of the animals. Only thing that I didn't like was there was no staff to be seen at all. Only in the front entrance and she was so nice. I felt very welcome with her. My family had a great time.

Horror...after a childhood worth of visits don't know if I will want to return. The unending lines to the women's restrooms are unacceptable. Yes it is peak season but I expect the zoo to at least show that they are trying to deal with the comfort of its visitors
