It was great. Be prepared to walk a whole lot and to bring YOUR OWN FOOD!!!!!
Had a great exibits all over and a nice trolly that gives you a loop around the zoo
We were able to see a variety of the animals. They were out. Excellent place
Zoo Lights was AWESOME! It was my first time going and I absolutely loved it. I'm definitely going again. It won't disappoint. The animals are off exhibit.
Amazing zoo, especially for being in the middle of the city. Quite expansive
I went with my 2 small children for a work event for the entire day. We did everything and they didn't tired till we got into the car at closing. One thing you can avoid if limited with time is the Dinosaur Exhibit. Although the exhibit itself is great with the reincarnation of what the dinosaur could have looked and done and the commentary from Ginger (his name for himself, the young man is hilarious with describing the different events), it goes by quickly for a long wait time. You are better off checking it out early with little to no wait or skipping it and enjoying the rest of the zoo with actual live animals.
Loooooved it! Zoo has a lot that you can visit in a general admittance price, and you get a good day's walk out of it too. Make sure to bring water because you won't find a single free water fountain anywhere in the park!!
As a supporter of the WCS (wildlife conservation society) I admire the work of this zoo. It's really all about the animals here, and to bring people closer to the animal kingdom.alot of space for the animals, impressive exhibitions, so many animals to see... I recommend also taking the monorail!
Great visit tons of animals. Need a full day alot of walking involved. My while family loves it.
For years I quit going to the zoo for animal welfare reasons and resumed when my kid was born. Bronx zoo is more than a ice breaking zoo for me. It made me believe for the first time that it's possible to convey conservation in the zoo. I became a member and visited as often as possible. During the pandemic it's going to be challenging for the animals and the employees. The Zoo strive to provide the high standard service as always. This has been and will continue to be my favorite place in the New York.
ONE OF NEW YORK'S TOP DESTINATIONS. ADMISSION IS FREE ON WEDNESDAYS OR YOU CAN MAKE A SMALL DONATION. BEAUTIFUL. ANIMALS AND GROUNDS ARE METICULOUSLY CARED FOR.
The map is useless and the staff even agree. Or at least when you can find someone that can direct you.
The Congo exhibit was an incredible experience. The staff was so knowledgable and made all of the difference.
Fun day trip for the family. The monorail wasn't worth it in my opinion. It's important to plan your trip because you'll spend a lot of time walking from place to place otherwise. Expensive food, I absolutely suggest bringing snacks and water one small bottle of water is about $4.50. I encourage everyone to check it out because when you visit the zoo and everything you paid for from the tickets to the gift shop to the food, you're contributing to the preservation of
Good experience. Saw some weird hand written signs.
Very large park to walk through. Plenty of range between all the kinds of animals that reside here. The butterfly house was a great way to see how they live. Petting zoo is nice too.
I enjoy the visit at Bronx zoo during the weekdays with the total experience tickets except Wednesday (very crowded) and weekends .The yearly membership for family of 4 is a great deal.
The zoo itself is fine if you dont mind all the hills. Getting to the zoo is fine when the 2 train bothers to work.
Lot of walking and my husband is disabled so we rented a wheelchair , it was not a relaxing day pushing him.
My favorite zoo. I just wish the stroller parking area was attended or had cameras so I could leave my stroller without being worried that something will go missing.
So much fun! So much to do and see! We went on Wednesday where entrance is free and the total experience tickets are only 15 bucks. Try to make the 4d show in the morning because those lines get crazy. There are a lot of people but the price is good and it's tons of fun!
Loved it!!! Thank you for bringing the Holiday Lights back!!
Biggest Zoo in USA. Special attention for the gorilla Congo area. The zoo is very educational for everyone
Maddenly overpriced concessions. Dinosaur experience same route as walking with dinosaurs - deceptively unclear. P.T. Barnum "This way to the egress" style treating visitors like rubes. Paying a clear price vs feeling nickel & dimed. I love the zoo. I want it to be vital and successful. These sideshow tactics and policies undermine the experience.
Very good place. Animals were nice. I recommend more handicap ramps.
Is a pretty to visit with kids. Is free on Wednesdays. Do NOT visit. Way too many folks.
Bring your walking shoes and if you have kids DONT forget your strollers. The entrance is by the parking lot. Highly recommend. Free carousel included. Lots of free parking on southern boulevard
I didn't get to see the animals, but I went on a rainy day and I was able to experience ziplining for the first time. Loved it.
Had a great time! The animals looked content and had room to move around. The Congo area is a must see!
Went on a free Wednesday. Wasn't as packed as we thought it would be. Definitely pay for the $15 passes!
Loved the zoo. My only complaint would be I wish there were more places to aquire a map or more map stations where you could see where you were. The place is big and easy to get turned around. It was clean and food was reasonably priced for an attraction and the they allow you to bring outside food in which is great.
Always a great time at the best zoo in New York. Many animals, great walk trails and beautiful scenery. The passes weren't over priced but food was meh. Give starts because no one goes to the zoo for the food.
Must see is the monorail, tigers, and the birds of prey.
Skip the Madagascar exhibit and the butterfly exhibit
Wasn't too crowded. Clean. Food was reasonable for park. Not depressing like some zoos, animals seem well cared for. I would take my son here again next year.
Holiday lights are nice but not worth $25 per person
Wonderful time!! We went during a nice cool day all the animals were out an active also it was a nice surprise that you could enjoy a few drinks and walk around
Kids love it, there is so much to do. Been there multiple times and always find something new.
Zoo Train is fun. Zoo Brew is a cool too. I'm a giraffe fan.
Who doesn't like going to the zoo! Many, many animals and lots to do for a day outing.
Best place to travel. There are different types of animals
As an adult, I would think visiting the Bronx Zoo would be lame. But I actually had fun with friends. They have another attractions besides the animals. They have a jungle gym for adults. That was really fun to do. A 4D theater. And a Carousel to name a few.
Some things need to be eliminated or revamped. No one wants to see a empty exhibit with a sign saying the animal had to be euthanized.
Seems like more food places and gift shops then animals in the exibits. Trying to spot some can be an adventure. Bring your own lunch to avoid expensive fast food. Nice walking paths and new exibits feel like an Orlando Florida tourist attraction.
It's the complete zoo experience! Wednesday is free, however, an all attraction access is sold for $14.95 on Wednesday. Free Wednesday is a privilege but the all access ticket is truly the benefit! Begin with the wild Asia Monorail which is a train ride to the larger animals...the nature trek is a wonderful physical and scenic trek for the kids...includes high rope bridges etc. Congo Gorilla Forest, 4D theater, bug carousel, butterfly garden, children zoo and children farm...where the children get to pet and feed the animals; then there are the big wonderful buildings...Managascar, birds of prey, aquatic bird house, sea lions, sea bird aviary, tiger mountain, Himalayan highlands, Jungle world...then at an extra cost you can enjoy camel rides and tree top adventures...worth the all access pass!
Went on family vaca we couldn't wait to visit this zoo. Well when we went not a lot of animals were out was very disappointed.
Total scam! I visited with friends, we paid full price admission to later realize that MOST of the exhibits were closed. It s winter and the animals are not out but this wasn t mentioned at the entrance. Of course we were denied a refund when we asked for one. Also, the few small exhibits we were able to access looked abandoned and filthy. Most animals here seemed depressed too. Save your time and money - dont support this scam of a zoo.
Love it, dinosaur safari was good. Waited for 1.5 hours for the ride but it was worth. Kids enjoyed the ride. It is big zoo, couldn't complete all attractions. Will visit again.
Beautiful place that provides their animals with lots of space.
The Bronx Zoo is a wonderful place for kids and adults! Great exhibits, many species are outdoors, not in cages. Friendly volunteer staff walk around to help visitors, share info, and recommend areas to see.
Lovely experience. loved it. But you guys shoud get your own food. Inside the zoo there is not much variety and is not super good.
Love that place! Bring your own Lunch box so you can easily seat down and eat!
It was a breathtaking experience to see animals you wouldn't see every day. I enjoyed it very much the scenery was amazing and the variety of animals was great.
LOVE this zoo! My favorite place to take friends and family of all ages. 100% a full day trip so make sure to get there early if you want to see everything. Make sure you buy the full experience tickets also because it is so so worth it. The tickets include my personal favorite: the gorillas!!! There is no exhibit like this that I have seen at any zoo I have visited. It is more of an all inclusive experience as you feel like you are walking through the Congo before you get to the main gorilla exhibit, which is massive. The experience tickets also include another favorite of mine which is the Children s Zoo but is really for all ages. You see more basic animals in this exhibit but there are fun ways to experience the animals such as the prairie dogs exhibit where you can poke your head up and see them up close. There are tons of other photo ops along the way, including a spider web which kids climb on and other fun play areas including a slide for kids. Next, you enter a farm area where (of course) you get to feed the animals! Of course the children s zoo is more catered towards kids but it s fun for all ages.
(Side note: I wouldn t recommend going to the zoo on Wednesday because it s free & extremely crowded. However, if you do want the free deal, get there realllyyyy early so you don t have to wait on a long slow line!)
The Bronx zoo is filled with animals from all over the world and will fascinate not only kids but adults too. The animal enclosures are spacious and mimic their natural habitat, which allows one to observe the majestic animals in an as realistic setting as possible while in confinement.
If you want a change from the urban jungle that is New York City, the zoo is a great place for a stroll in nature. It is accessible by public transport, and would be an ideal day trip for both city residents and out of towners.
Pro-tip: entrance to the zoo is free on most Wednesdays. Free tickets need to be booked in advance on the zoos website.
Terrible parking. Heavy car traffic on paths. Good animals but not great.
A marvelous zoo with good habitats for observing the animals, while still seeming humane. Lots and lots to see. Nearly impossible to cover in one trip.
I love visiting the Bronx Zoo. Every year I take my daughter and she loves it. This year she saw the giraffes.
Great time seeing the zoo lights, first time for me, and the kids, and it was lots of fun. Only got to see a few animals since it was late. But plan on going back again in the spring with warming weather, figure that is better time to see more animals. Have been looking forward to taking the kids there, it's been many years since I went here, probably as a kid myself.
Great place to create memories with friends and family.Staff is courteous and animals looked healthy and handled well!
Bronx zoo is my favorite place to go, even as an adult. I took a chance and went on a day that the weather was questionable, light drizzle here and there. Best decision, there was basically no crowds, although many concessions were closed, but that wasn't a big deal. The animals were out and about and we didn't have to fight the crowds to see them.
BX.....ZOO
A Nature Animal Kingdom For All [-_-]
Haven't been to the zoo in years. Emphasis is on conservation and raising awareness. The bird houses were especially interesting.
A great day out for the family. The annual membership is a great deal if you have a family and are interested in going back to either the Bronx Zoo or to other NYC zoos.
Wonderful Zoo ! Animals have good amount of space and seem well cared for. Plenty of shade for strolling. Educational Exhibits.
Worlds most famous zoo, wide variety of wildlife in natural settings. Great for kids and school groups.
I go to the Bronx Zoo every year, but this year definitely not the same with Covid-19. A lot of the exhibits I enjoy were closed because they were in the buildings and people hoard around the exhibits with no regard to anyone else wanting to see it.
The kids love visiting the animals. Crowded, but the staff is friedy
