Great place to visit. I went with family and my kid is one year old. Good place for kids and elders too. Train ride will be very good. We took a multiple ride package which was 16$ when we went to zoo. Not sure about the costs now.

It s the Bronx Zoo! What more can be said? It s one of the premier zoos in the country, and they rightfully deserve their stellar reputation. One of the foremost facilities for wildlife conservation in the world, not to mention just a cool day trip. A must see!

Love this zoo. They have added a new kid attraction which is a nice feature for older kids, and the other city zoo's don't have it. The food is too expensive for the quality, but it goes back to the preservation of animals and those endangered of going extinct, so it's a give and take I guess. Lol. It's the type of place u want to arrive early to, gets pretty crowded, and it's like a maze, so there is lots to see and do. I recommend the monorail located in the Asia part of the zoo.

We had a great time considering that we had arrived a little late in the day. Some of the exhibits were closed because they had certain times to be opened. Next time i will get there early enough to enjoy the whole day. The tickets cost was a little bit much, but worth it. At the end of the day my mother had problems walking and couldn't make it back to the entrance where we came in, so a kind caring grounds man shuttled my family and i back to the entrance. That was not only generous but amazing to see people who care...Thanks!

If you're from the Bronx you've probably already been here. Its the only zoo in the bronx that im awared of and its really close to the botanical garden. Its a go to place for most schools as they have a diverse range of animals that kids get to learn about and see. I would recommend going to the Bronz zoo if you've never seen it and maybe check out the aquarium its just as fun.

Not one single place to buy a drink or a sandwich, instead, a very big place to walk and see the animals. Advice: don't pay at the entrance, but rather pay for each attraction, as you visit. The souvenir shop was closed. It kind of looked a bit deserted, though there were pleanty of people walking. Didn't seem well maintained in some parts.

Been going to this zoo since I was a kid, yet never experienced all the attractions. This day we went early and experienced almost all the attractions. It was great! Food is very pricey but outside food is permitted. Great for the family. I recommend visiting any day except free Wednesdays due to the large crowds on those days. Also, buying the total experience packages is a great value deal.

Hadn't been there in years ... and it was more expensive... BUT the price includes almost all attractions n rides. It was 3 adults n 1 child under 2. ..cant remember if we paid for her but it was over $100 ... bring your lunch!

The zoo is fantastic, my only complaint is that some of the animal enclosures are waaayyyy too small and limiting for those animals to have a good quality of life. We force them to live in prison their whole lives, the least we can do is have decent size cells

Why do they charge almost $5.00 for ice. Plus to top it off there was a heat advisory! I did love that they have a nursing pod for breastfeeding or pumping but it was so hot in there I could have passed out.

The people here really care about the animals and education is a big part of what they do. I highly reccomend the encounter tour which is way better than trying to wander through the zoo on your own...plus you get to interact with animals in a very small group setting

This is one of my favorite zoos. I'm amazed at how many animals they can fit into this zoo. The variety of animals is wonderful, even if they can't always be found. The habitats are spacious so the animals are happy. I especially love the volunteer who wait in certain areas and answer questions about the animals. It's like the animals have their own groupies. Parking price is reasonable, but highly recommend having a car full to reduce price per person. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone anytime of the year

This is a great place for everyone and anyone to go. It's only open till about between 5 and 7 p.m., opens at 10 a.m. but it's only open between the spring and the fall. In the winter it's only open for Christmas for the train show

The zoo is lovely and the animals were out in full swing. Gift shop was plentiful. Food is a little expensive..I am all for rounding up the change to donate to the animals, but Dip n Dots for $6.99?? I suggest packing your own. And remember where you park!

Please beg the zoo to send their elephants to a sanctuary. They are in solitary confinement but they are social animals. the zoo knows this but they continue to abuse them. They look so sad. Please help! Do you want your kids to see their suffering?

I usually hate going to the zoo on Wednesdays because there's huge crowds and summer camps and what not but today was not the case! Considering my membership expired and I wanted to do something fun with my son right before school started , we decide to go to the zoo! They have a brand new Dinosaur Safari experience and it was awesome! $8 per person was definitely worth it.. especially if the admission to the zoo was free anyway! Richard a.k.a. Ricky made the experience so much better, down to his corny jokes and his funny voices. Its crazy when you can tell when an employee is passionate about their job, I'm telling you he made the experience! .. well besides the cool dinosaurs, duh! Everything about the zoo was typical just like any other day at the zoo. we go ALOT, but I would definitely recommend the Dinosaur Safari Experience.

Visited June 2013. Amazing zoo with plenty of exhibits, animals and activities to choose from. Food for lunch is not too bad either. Be prepared to spend most, if not, the entire day though. Would go back again.

The animals look so sad. The polar bear that died looked like he was always in prison never happy always turned around in the same position back side facing the people and the water was never fulled up so he could go for a swim. The polar bear died a slow lonely death (he was the only polar bear in exhibit all by himself). The animals live out a horrible life here. The spaces are too small for the animals. Even The only animal I actually see look happy was the red panda. On the free day you have to still go to the cashier to get a ticket they try to trick you into buying a total experience or donate. You have to pay for exhibits that use to be free even on the free days like jungle world.

We went to the Bronx Zoo for Brew at the Zoo and it was definitely worth the money. Great vendors, great atmosphere, and incredibly well kept zoo grounds with fun animals. The zoo makes it incredibly easy to find directions to get there when getting off the subway as well, with signs posted of which direction to go in.

I truly enjoyed my day at the zoo. Full of exciting and so many things to see. I am a little disappointed that the cost of the ticket didn't include the parking. It could be quite costly.

What a fantastic way to spend a day. Joined as a member and went for the first time with the kids. Spent about 3 hours there and only got to visit the children's zoo and Madagascar. The children's zoo has a pioneering portion where you can feed goats and see an alpaca. Will definitely get my money's worth this year as we will go many times.

Seem like there are events for every season I enjoy going 3 to 4 times a year. Staff is friendly and helpful. Even if your not an animal fan some of the events like the lights on Christmas are worth it.

Had a wonderful time at the holiday at lights. Was not very crowded at all. The zoo was very well organized and felt very safe with all of the COVID precautions. Staff was very friendly and was an awesome expert for the kids!

Definitely worth going since the post-pandemic reopening. Not too crowded, can actually get close and look as long as you like. Wish I knew the elephant was only accessible by trolley, but would recommend saying hi to the red panda, giraffes and snow leopard for sure! Bathrooms and some cafes are open. Definitely get tickets online beforehand.

I haven't been to Bronx Zoo in 14 years. The zoo is bigger than I remember and very much greener. I really enjoyed the little I saw, didn't get to see much because too many schools were visiting - DOE schools enter for free and it's a Wednesday. I am curious to know why the giraffes are enclosed and not out in the fresh air. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, really nice place to visit. The trip was a great one.

Just went to the Brew in the Zoo event. It was amazing. Alot of breweries came out and occupied the zoo. We had our share of encounters with roaming Peacocks though this event was held in the evening while most animals have already went to bed. The was also a nice assortment of food trucks available.

The best part of the night was the section of the by the carousel that played music

The bronx zoo isnt like it use to be.
Now when you go theres more things you have to pay for even on wednesday when its free entrance. I feel like you dont get to see the full experience anymore most animals are not in there area when we go to see them and the prices on food and drinks are outrageous like almost $10 for a soft drink smh

Great Experience, if you pay for the ticket (everything included) make sure get on the ride of the zoo at the entrance, it takes you for the whole zoo and you don't have to walk that long distance

Awesome time for the family or a selfish trip alone with your thoughts and camera. Alot of walking if you want or a shuttle is available if you want a guide. Very satisfied with my experience my 2 year old daughter loved it. Her 1st zoo trip.

The zoo is large and has lots of special attractions inside that can be purchased separately or as a package. The zoo can be reached by public transportation such as subway as well as by car but you will have to pay for parking. The pricing is tiered for adults, kids, seniors and infants. Membership is also available. For a family with at least one child you will be out around $100 or more depending on what ticket type you purchase. Cafeteria food and bathrooms are available throughout the park. Cleanliness level and service is average.

Great place. Needs zoo shuttle access at all entrances - we were travelling with a senior citizen and came into one of the entrances that didn't have it. Shame the red panda exhibit was closed, but most of the animals in the other exhibits were out and very active. Loved the Grizzlies, big cats, the mouse house, giraffes, ducks and cranes. Needed more time to see everything. The parking staff was great and most of the staff were very courteous, however, most of the staff didn't know where things were in the zoo. Overall a lot of fun.
