It was exciting for my kids and that put a big smile on my face!

Loved this place! Haven't been since school age, but bet well maintained zoo. Most definitely worth it to buy a ticket and get the full experience!

Free on Wednesdays, but i really recomd the family anual membership , its really worth, and includes 4 other ny zoo's and the aquiriam for the whole year, for just $160

Truly incredible place exhibiting Nature's beautiful life forms. A must visit for any tourist or local. The shear number of animals and birds in the Zoo is mind boggling. The animals are kept in as natural a place as possible. Many amenities like ATM, Gift shops, Restrooms, food carts and restaurants are available. However, it is highly recommended that you take your own food and water as it is quite expensive inside. The total experience ticket is a good buy if you stay for at least 6-7 hours. Great Student discounts are also applicable and Wednesdays are free for all.

Very nice but they sold me full attraction tickets when the only thing open was the carousel. Feel a little ripped off

It is my favorite place to go! I try to come at least 3x in the summer! Was actually just there today and I wish I could go back tomorrow, the animals are well cared for, the zoo is clean, and the employees are knowledgeable and so friendly!

Trees provided good shade even on a very sunny day. Most of the exhibits provide very good views of the animals. The gorillas are a must see.

What a nice zoo. Animals are housed in areas very like their orginal habitat. Some of the animals have been saved from extinction by the efforts of the zoo keepers. We ate lunch at the Dancing Crane cafe and the food was good. There are several places to buy a quick meal or a snack. Plan to spend a long day here because there are so many species to see.

Nice place to take kids during these COVID times you need patience.

Many exhibits. Large grounds, could not see all exhibits in five hours. Great place to visit.

The zoo is nice overall, my only two problems - a. its sad to see so many beautiful birds in small cages b. due to the weather most of the animals were missing, which is understandable but why nobody says anything before you buy the ticket?

Amazing zoo so many things to see you can't possibly do everything in one day. Plan to stay the entire day and wear walking shoes. Lots of trails to explore!

Great zoo. Pace yourself! Good mask wearing, good respect of distance. Most things seem to be open today. Huge space. Use the train and monorail.

My son had went here with his therapist and she said he had a blast he loved it .. must have good shoes for all the walking and alot of water ..

Nice zoo. I've wayched the show and went for visit. My only wish was that we went in warmer weather . Not all the exhibits were open and dont go on free admission Wednesday as all the school field trips go that day!! Other then that I loved the bird building and reptiles. Fun time spent with my husband.

I loved the zoo as a kid and love bringing my kids now.

Beautiful place, but there weren't many animals outside on display that day.

Great zoo to bring your family ... Very crowded at times tho....

Gorilla park is good. In butterfly park there are not much variety. Dianasour park is good for kids. The animals in the zoo are limited. Ticket doesn't worth. Overall it's ok types.

This place is huge! Very open vibe to it with the peacocks running around free. When I went a lot of the animals were still confided to indoors since it was March but it was definitely an awesome zoo.

Very well laid out in a small area, compared to other zoos in the country.

One day total experience! The most beautiful way to spend a day with the kids in NYC. 45 min by bus from Madison Ave. See the Asia rail, Dino safary and Congo gorilas. Wonderful!!

Omg really worth the price. So big you dont even get time to finish the whole park.

Best zoo I have ever been to!

The food is very delicious, a lot of space to move around as well. You can catch a quick ride on the Zoo Shuttle to get around. The exhibits are amazing! You get to see all kinds of beautiful animals: Western Lowland Gorillas, Snow Leopards, Giraffes, Vultures, and much, much more! Oh, and did I mention that they have Camel Rides? CAMEL RIDES! I went on a camel ride with my aunt and I loved it! (Hold on tight though). Also, the workers are very kind. There's also a 4D Theatre if you have Total Experience tickets. Trust me, this will be like heaven if you go here!

It's fun for all ages! I say you should give it a visit!

Famous for a reason. Cool historical buildings, great exhibits, and animals all looked well-treated and clean.

Amazing time at the Bronx Zoo today. Cooler weather means the zoo is much less crowded and we got to see the animals up close.

It was a good experience overall. The animals were well kept.
The only downside I have to say is that the bathrooms could have been kept cleaner, one floor was entirely flooded and muddy.

We became members of the zoo, since our son loved it and it s such a big zoo with a lot of different attractions. The animals seem to be well cared for, and the staff are very helpful.

The prettiest zoo I've been to yet! If we ever visit NY again we will definitely go back!

Great to walk around but if you have young children you have to get to the children's zoo first. There is a small fee to enter.

Great place for a field trip, but I suggest you buy tickets with the shuttle experience because if you are to bring little kids ages 5-13, it gets a little "whiny". Overall, the trip was fantastic. Workers were very nice and polite and had no problem leading people. One downside of the zoo is the prices on food. It is a little bit too expensive. A kids Dippin' Dots is 5.99 plus the tax. I had to pay 6.54 almost 7.00 for a extra small cup. Outrageously ridiculous. But we had an amazing time and we hope to come back soon!

Love this place. Went on a Wednesday free all day except special attractions which I gladly paid for. Surprisingly it wasn't that busy or it didn't appear to be where I was situated throughout. The zoo was clean and we'll maintain. It's a staple of NYC

One of New York s greatest treats. The perfect escape from the city for photography and or family. The membership is worth it considering how large it is and two trips pretty much for it. They have added 2 sky trail experiences. One inside the zoo that comes with admission and the other outside which comes at an extra cost...and a zip line experience over the Bronx River! The residents are treated well and the staff is awesome. Highly recommend.

The Bronx Zoo is a huge and amazing zoo that I was pleased to find out does a ton of conservation work and a lot to inform the public about wildlife conservation. There's so many exhibits that it's pretty hard to see everything in one day, but I loved everything I did see. All of the staff is super knowledgeable and passionate about the animals, and overall, it's a great place to visit for any age.

I am amazed by the fact that there is such a huge Zoo at the heart of New York City. And it is a real beautiful zoo. Wherever you look there are more amazing animals. Kind of sad to see the caged, but what can we really do. The best day trip for animal lovers.

Beautiful Zoo!!! Friendly and helpful staff. Woman by the name of Gerry was so knowlegable about the Rhinoceros', my gf and I were talking to her for about 15 min very friendly. Can't wait to go back

Great Zoo! I wish it was easier to locate all the animals. The map is useful but someone can still get confuse. I had a total experience ticket and I don't see the big difference between the general admission ticket. Yes I did get access to all the exhibits but finding the exhibits was a pain. It's also really hard to locate the Lion...it's in a corner by itself that could easily get passed by, I passed by the Lion so many times without even noticing. When I finally saw the Lion place, the Lions weren't there because I guess they brought it inside since it was 5pm. The tickets are pricey, especially if you're buying for more than one person, but they have tons of animals. I even rode a camel. In all, my experience was great and I just wished is was easy to locate all the animals. The map only helps a little bit. PS. Bring your own lunch, you'll save a lot of money...trust me.

As far as zoos go, this one is pretty well run. The animals appear pretty well taken care of. The only exhibit I didn't care for was the polar bear. He was just pacing and didn't seem like a well adjusted animal.

PS. Free Wednesdays are not worth dealing with the free Wednesday crowd. Paying the admission fee is well worth it.

I hadn't been do the Bronx Zoo in years. I forgot how beautiful it is. The grounds are so well taken care of--pristine. We went for Boo at the Zoo. What a treat! Take your little ones if you can.

Beautifull place great for familys and for running it takes a while to visit the whole park tho it took me 10 hours to visit almost everything but was totaly worth it.The prices in the stores were a little bit to hight but not conplaining too much about those.Overall is a great place to go to will definetly visit again.

I always enjoy looking at all the wonderful animals that are being taking of here. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes because, there is lots to see. Or you can always hop on the tram and view the animals while you lay back and relax some more.

The trolley is great to get one from place to place in the zoo. The staff is very helpful and informative when they're asked for information or directions. As the years have gone by I 've noticed great improvement.

Such a great place to visit even during the pandemic. Highly recommend coming here with the kids.

Great place to visit even in the off season. Amazing job they do with all the animals! It's not just a zoo... the rehabilitation and conservation programs seem to be second to none. so get out there and have fun and support your wildlife for the generations to come. Will definitely return and thanks for all you do.

Great zoo. Too big to see in a day. We evn encountered a snake on a outing out of its cage

Love this place. It is so big it's hard to see all the animals in one day. The park is usually clean and packed. A bit pricey but Wednesdays are free and bring your own lunch.

I feel bad giving them two stars but this is what it deserves. The zoo is ran down like you cannot believe. Almost every attraction is overgrown with weeds. You see broken attraction signs here and there. The the food places are a complete disaster as far as organization. The poor seals when we went had like 3 ft of water to swim in when it should be like 8 feet. Bottom line... Save your money and go elsewhere.

My birthday tradition. All day trip to the zoo! Love it! Just wish there were more of some of the big animals.
