Great location, amazing exhibits and fantastic staff who showed a passion for working there and the animals they care for.
Great location, amazing exhibits and fantastic staff who showed a passion for working there and the animals they care for.
Animals great. Don't understand why there are exibits that have to be paid extra for. Food expensive but decent portions.
Come now is the best time of the year to
See the light in the BRONX ZOO holiday get very nice with a hot coffee
It's fun, I just wish you didn't have to pay extra money to enter into some exhibits within the zoo. It's a little rediculous that you pay to enter the zoo, then you have to pay more money to enter other exhibits within the zoo.
Amazing place! You need to go with a lot of time though; there's a lot to see. And animals get returned to their cells at 4 though. NOT 4 :30.
Tons to see and do. Animals, rides, and food all throughout the Zoo. Great for families.
Fun work event. The staff was nice and the park was very clean.
Me and my family went to this zoo about three years ago today, and after these all these years, I am still very disappointed by the fact that I was robbed by a tiger at the elephant exhibit! So disappointing!!!!!!
My nephew love it. If I had the chance to live near by I would got the annual subscription and visit it with him. Great green place, with same amazing areas with exotic animals!
The only downside is that rats are all over the place and you can see them going all over the places.
A bit more expensive than the other NYC zoos but then again this is the biggest one out of them all. Lots of big and small animals to see!
Be prepared to walk, even if you are paying more for the shuttle service as this place is really spread out, also be prepared to stand and wait queues to enter special exhibits, food stands, rest rooms that it almost feels like an amusement park.
it's fun have a lot of things to do animals and fun and for kids
Our children love animals. This was a fantastic experience. Great location to learn about a variety of animals and to take pictures if interested in photography.
Best place to bring your kids during the warm weather. Make sure you check out the Monorail and see the red panda.
Love it. Just not going on wednesday.its free Wednesday so it gets super full
I've been coming here since I was young loved it than & love it now
Nice place to have a fun with your family and friends..
Fantastic experience! WCS has done a wonderful job providing interesting exhibits and, from what I observed, healthy environments for the animals.
I think I had more fun than my 3 year old goddaughter did. We went for Boo at the Zoo and I'm already planning to take her back again. The only thing I didn't like was how you have to pay for a majority of the exhibits or get the more expensive all inclusive entry ticket.
Our family enjoyed our Saturday visit but was very disappointed to find that they had several exhibits closed due to the fact they had a small crowd due to rain. I feel they should have offered some kind of free food or gifts in return. Food good but very high priced. Animal exhibits that were open were nice. Not worth traveling about 3.5 hours to see.
The Bronx zoo was amazing it's a wonderful place to take both adults and kids .
Love the Bronx Zoo!! We are members and go at least 3 times a year. The Animals are are well taken care of and attractions are for all ages.
My friend and I watch your television programs. Were are both in our late seventies and these wonderful animals and their handlers give us so much joy. Keep up the good work and protect all of them.
Love this zoo. The membership is the best deal in the city
Best of the best. Always improving. Membership is worth it.
This place never seems to amaze me. I like the variety they have made. There are more outdoor exhibits. I'm in love with their friendly peacocks who eat chicken tenders and fries, poor birds.
The Bronx zoo is one of our favorite destinations, with natural habitats for animals and support for wild life conservatory. I have been to zoos all over the world and the new york zoo is one of the best.
NYC students (K-12 and undergraduates) can visit the zoo (no extras) for free at any time. For non-students, Wednesdays are free to anyone who just wants to see the zoo. It's very large, so good walking shoes are definitely recommend. Still a great experience and worth visiting!
used to love this place as a kid!!! too bad I am not able to come visit being in how i moved away. though you learn to appreciate things when you get older. this place has lots of great memories.
The Bronx zoo was a great time! It's free on Wednesdays, which means it's INSANE to go on a Wednesday unless you have to. It is expensive to go, but if you are in the area, just get a membership. Memberships are less than 2 entries and give you 4 zoos for a year plus free guests. Food is expensive, but you're at an attraction,so it's expected. Employees are friendly and helpful, and we always have a good time talking to the people in the "houses" as they are very knowledgeable about the regions and the animals in them.
Wonderful zoo in the heart of NYC. I went on a Wednesday and it was a relatively cold day so there was no rush. Many animals were indoors due to the cold but we still had fun. 5 hours well spent.
big zoo in the middle of the city...very fun and enjoyable to adult and kids
We are patrons. They give a good value for the yearly cost. Animals and areas are well kept.
Great place for a day outside. Animals are in good view. Put on your walking shoes
Must take 2 days to fully enjoy the best zoo in NYC
It's been over over 20 years since I've been to the Bronx Zoo and still enjoyed it.
I was sorely disappointed. We went on Wednesday (the free day). It was one on the worst decisions of my life. Kids everywhere. Five minutes after arriving we just wanted to leave! Also you have to walk to far to see very little. There is much talk about the Bronx Zoo but to me it's highly overrated. Never going back.
Amazing afternoon at the Bronx Zoo. The new Dinosaur Safari is an amazing experience
It was a wonderful zoo and my family had a great day. The reason why I give it only four stars is that in order to see all of the animals, you essentially have to pay an upcharge of roughly $14 extra per person to have the "total experience." We paid it and I'll glad we did. It made the day more fun for our family. But it is an additional cost that could be prohibitive for larger families.
Be ready for walk more , good visit for sunny day .. some places has extra charges
It's very simple! - I love Bronx Zoo because I love animals. I love animals - and I hate when humanity treats them badly. BUT this is not the case here! Bronx Zoo is huge and awesome. Animals here are serviced super well, they are like kings & queens, just like in the wildness. Thumbs up, if you agree!
Great place to spend a day. Acres of land, hundreds of animals, so much information to learn. Solo or with family, a must visit American classic park.
Go on a Wednesday early in the morning at least once for free entrance. Get there before it's crowded and it's honestly a great time but I recommend spending money or getting like a membership or something treat yourself . Also don't but any food there everything is overpriced and mediocre.
The animal looks unhappy, the facility is old, the food in the zoo is worse than any fast food out, recommand if you really want to go bring your own lunch.
If you or your kids love seeing animals then this is the place to take them.
This is one of the best zoos I ve been to and the best one in NYC by far. If you are going to go, I would recommend purchasing the full ticket to see the extra exhibits. The Congo exhibit is fantastic and worth it! There are so many animals to see. Make sure to allocate your time appropriately as the animals go into their shelters after the zoo closes.
Usually busy, lots of walking. sometimes animals are not available. Otherwise a great variety of animals to see plenty of bathrooms and places to eat.
I only gave it 3 stars because I'm with my real family enjoying the day together but if I had to rate our experience on Wednesday the day that it's free I would give it -1star and I will never go again on Wednesday unless I'm there at 9am in the morning because it was so over exaggerated crowded and we only got to enjoy 1 attraction in the 4 hours we was there.
Beautiful Bronx Zoo at night. Loved the lights display.
Excellent zoo with plenty of animals. We toured the reptile house on one visit with the herpetologist, who was awesome.
I also attended brew at the zoo, which was fun, but there weren't many exhibits open, they closed early, and the beer lines were way, way too long to justify the price. If I were to rate that event, I'd give it a 2 or 3 out of 5.
The zoo itself is great though.
The entrance to the Bronx zoo for the day is very expensive especially for the residents of the Bronx. You need to review that policy.
What an extortion scam. Any thing that is any good (gorillas lions etc) you have to pay a separate fee. So much hype for nothing. Other Zoos in Tristate and New England are much better. Will not go there again.
This is one of the best zoo's I've been to, and I've been to quite a few. I only had one day and I had my mother and two kids with me so I didn't make it through the whole zoo. I think if I had been by myself or with teenagers who can walk for a distance I could have seen everything. The best exhibit was the gorilla's. There is a group of about 15 including moms dad's and babies in a large enclosure that still let you have fantastic viewing. The gorilla's seemed very happy, not stressed out and having a great time. There was lots of adorable baby cuteness happening. Regular admission is 29 or the full experience package is 39 plus $20 per car for parking. I'd recommend getting the more expensive package. Pretty much any exhibit you would want to see (including gorilla's) cost an extra $6 with out it. It also gets you into the 4-D movie.
Been there before! Everything natural! And very fun
Most of all the attractions were out And they kept the place clean
We all get to visit far off lands right in our own backyard
Beautiful park keep in mind Wednesdays are free kids will love it
Great all year round. Definitely would reccomend going the fall or winter if you dont mind the cold. The place is a lot less packed and you still get to see all your favorite animals.
Lines and lines and very long lines to get to almost every exhibit .If you plan visit on the weekend prepare to spend at least 2 hours just in lines .I felt amount of the people was just about the same as pre pandemic.
A lot of walking. But the animals are active and really big
Having been a regular visitor to Sydney's fabulous Taronga Zoo, and the Sunshine Coast's Australia Zoo, I was a little underwhelmed visiting here.
Its almost 3 times larger than Taronga
so you need to walk quite a while to see each species, as they are so far apart from each other...so perhaps 2 visits would work better.
Not bad! Big zoo. But animals are still trapped in spaces which is always sad to see
Ran in the Run for the Wild race. It was an amazing experience. Well organized. Very clean. Great staff!
Get there early preferably on a weekday. Not Wednesday. You can see mostly everything before it gets crowded. Wear your best walking shoes and enjoy. A++
This place is so good to go with kids! Have a lot different animals to see, good stores and food for a good price! They have tiger, bears, penguin etc!
Great up keep of the place. There are so many different animals here, it's amazing ! Truly had so much fun here with the family.
good for kids, family fun, bring food and water. it gets expensive
What a great time ! Bring food and water. Comfortable shoes and hat are a must. Park anywhere and start walking. The total experience pass is suggested if you're going to 3 or more attractions. Shuttle where u can . Just *try* not to smile , impossible !!
Nice but hard to see all the nice animals, they are always hiding, I think it is better Six Flag they have more big animals, like , , ,
Bronx zoo is an amazing place with lots of different animals, birds, insects. The zoo is very well maintained & stuffs are really helpful & friendly.
I went there on Wednesday, apparently entry fees is free on Wednesday but if you want Total Experience then you have to pay $ 14.95 that includes some special exhibit like Congo Gorilla Forest,Jungle World, Children's Zoo, Wild Asia Monorail,Butterfly Garden,4D theater, Zoo Shuttle(Closed on all Wednesdays). Wild Asia Monorail (20 minutes guided tour)was a great experience. But this much pay is totally worth!
They have plenty parking spots & that cost $16 for full day.
Only one thing that I would suggest is please bring your own food & water, everything is overpriced inside the cafe.
Be ready to walk a long long way, wear comfortable shoes & dress. It takes a full day to complete all the corner, if not the whole day then at least 5 hrs.
One Complain about the hour: 10 am.- 5 pm. is the official hours, but at 4:30 pm.they closed all the exhibits & put away all the animals. So basically timing is 10 am.-4:25 pm.Please keep that in mind.
Great Experience!
We had a lot of fun, lots of animals to see and the team ride in the Asia part was our favorite part.
The dinosaurs were great. The rabbits..not so much.
I want to come back in the summer when the park is completely open. I have seen how that new exhibit works out in 3 movies now.
It's one of my favorite places to take the kids. They not only have a great time seeing all the animals, but they learn a lot. The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions. Some exhibits were closed because of covid, but the staff has done an excellent job making it a safe and sanitary environment.
Haven't been in yet recently but it's one of NYC finer zoo's
It was nice. I just wish they use the shuttle Buses on Wednesday's
