Tbh I'm still a big kid at heart so coming to the zoo always gets me excited! I came on a Wednesday because I live within walking distance and I wanted to take advantage of the free admission.

The zoo is fairly large so be prepared to do a lot of walking but as you visit all of the animals, you won't even realize you did all that trotting around. The reptile house and the bears are my favorite. The only thing is, most of the animals look pretty sad and lazy. They aren't active and it kind of sucks just watching them lay down. It takes the fun out it when the animals don't look engaged but hey I get it, they aren't in the wild anymore and don't have to work for food nor be on the lookout for predators.

Nonetheless the zoo is always a great trip, just try to get there as early as possible to avoid long waiting lines.

Really great for kids, free day Wednesday's are packed and you must pay for parking and some exhibits locals that don't drive and if you don't want to get full access to pay exhibits then it's completely free, "pack a lunch" prices are high for food

It was a great experience paying regular rates, they do try to dbl their money for the whole experience though. We only missed out on the African area which included the elephants. But still saw lions, tigers and bears. Along with giraffes n some monkeys. Wonderful Bird World!

Well maintained zoo with a variety of animals, reptiles, and birds. The different areas of the zoo with focus on animals from different habitats, and species added to the wow factor. The butterfly park had a tortoise crossing, a small fish pond, and a beautiful collection of flowering plants. The zoo has several cafes, icecream stalls and gift shops spread across, making it a perfect day trip for everyone. The train shuttle was very convenient. The Asian monorail was closed, and the Dinosaur safari had a 90 minute wait. Plan an early day to make the most of it.

We had an great time! This place is huge! We arrived at 10 am when the Zoo opened and did not leave until 30 mins before its 5:30pm closing time and we still could have easily used 4 more hours to see more habitats.
The Dinosaur Safari and Asian Monorail are a must.

The Bronx Zoo is a gigantic space with various animals like giraffes, black swans, and frogs the size of your thumb. Peacocks roam the walking paths and share the space freely with visitors. Go early, you can spend the entire day walking around the zoo. Bring comfortable shoes, warm layers, and snacks in the winter.

I am a photographer @ Digital Illusions Photos, I visited the Bronx Zoo with my family, I took some really stunning photos, looking through the lens of my camera at the lush, green and natural habitat created by the staff for the animals was totally mind blowing. My children enjoyed the experience.

Very fun. It can get crowded at times, but it's all worth it!!! I especially love the zebras and Mongolian horses!

It's great for kids and adults.
I even went there when I was a baby, and as a 3rd or 4th grade trip!

Came to the zoo with my family and had a great time. I have heard horror stories about going on free days (Wednesday) so we went on a Tuesday. Def recommend becoming a member, it's a really good deal- esp given how big the place is, multiple visits are needed to check everything out.

Huge diversity of animals, with very interesting information boards accompanying each one. Caveats include that a) you can't see many great attractions without a Total Experience ticket and just General Admission, and b) things are relatively pricey overall from everything ranging from cafeteria services to parking (not easy to find allowed street parking on weekday and lot parking is $17). But definitely worth the visit, for both adults and kids.

Even worth the pandemic it's still accessible. Pretty much everything was open, the carousel is open, cleaned between use and everyone is spaced out. Definitely great for kids, since the tickets are bought online ahead of time it isn't busy or crowded, the children's zoo is open. You can still feed the animals. It was a lovely trip for my two boys 2yr old and 10 month old

A lot of walking! If your taking kids you won't be able to see all of the animals. 10 and up your fine but under 10 years old they will get tired. You can bring your own food just watch out for the peacocks (beautiful pheasants) :o). Bring water and hat, dress in comfortable clothes and sneakers. Be prepaired for a long amazing day.

The Bronx Zoo has a wide range of animal exhibits. However, for a family friendly place it provides little to no accommodation for pumping moms. It is a shame. The employee were not helpful at all in providing a place where one can privately pump. A clothing store is able to better accommodations.

This zoo needs more improvement. Could see very few animals and birds.
Could be improved with animal experiences like feeding etc or clicking pictures with the birds like any other zoo.
Could see a lot of peacocks roaming around freely which was good

Free on Wednesdays! But it only gets you access to the basic attractions. If you want to experience the main attractions like the dinozaur park and the monorail tour, you may pay $15! Regular day $40(if I recall). Recommended.

It is always wonderful to see the animals, but it would be really nice if people didnt torment the animals and let their children bang on the glass of the enclosures. Otherwise the park itself was clean and the animals are beautiful.

Very average. Jungle world is neat but that's about all special about this zoo. Everything else just makes it a Normal zoo. My biggest issue with the zoo is the size of the enclosures are quite small and some of the animals don't look like they want to be here body language wise.

This is one of the top zoos on the planet.

This is one of the top zoos on the planet.

WCS is a true global environmental organization on top of running these zoos.

The year pass is well worth it, you get parking all year and access to another 4 NY area zoos plus the aquarium.

I love brining my kids here all year long. January and February the park is mostly empty and all but 10% of the exhibits are still open. In the summer, you can see the gorillas, butterflies and the elephant plus a few extra activities.
