I been coming here since I was 5 years old I love this place
It's okay, their admission is a bit pricey! Wednesday's are not free people! You don't have to pay full admission, but you do have to give a donation.
Very cool to see the zoo from Madagascar! They have a ton of cool exhibits to see. Make sure you come on a Wednesday when you can get in for free.
We love the Bronx zoo! It's beautiful and the animals are given areas that closely resemble their natural habitat.
Was a huge zoo. Really had a nice day there. Was suprisef at its size in the middle of the bronx. Lots of open spaces. The boo at the zoo was going on and the kids there seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Great out door activities! Excellent COVID precautions
Is the most most beautiful experience'
And the people are kind .
Zoo is great - but they don't enforce mask wearing at all, many visitors not wearing masks and staff doesn't care. Due to this my family doesn't feel safe going there, won't be visiting again.
free Wednesday are free ;) love only down fall is its packed but still great experience
Excessively busy on Wednesday, their free day. Many exhibits have separate fees.
Outdoors,nature,animals,beauty,peace of mind.....a must,....ENJOY
Bring your walking shoes. Also, check to see if the animals you're looking for are on display. The polar bear exhibit was closed when we went and the Red Panda exhibit was also closed. We had a wonderful time seeing the rhinos, one tiger, giraffes, etc. Worth the trip!
Staff did a tremendous job managing the streams of people while social distancing.
So many animals and so big; we loved our visit there!! Cool things to see that we haven t seen before.
I travel quite a bit and the Bronx Zoo is all around one of the best Zoos in the U.S.
Thevonly zoo in the world who lets the animals roam on open fields (safely of course)
Very big alot to do there kids had fun and I will go there again
Excellent day out with family. You DO need more than one day to truly see the entire zoo and enjoy the exhibits. Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff. Not over priced food and was very tasty
Excellent zoo and so much more. They work to enable endangered species to survive and thrive. Beautiful grounds.
This zoo is amazing. I walked in at 12pm and ended up leaving a little after closing. Very big zoo with a lot of animals, would recommend coming here.
Great zoo with tons of animals that are easy to see. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Only thing I don't like is the layout doesn't flow well. I've been there a few times and always feel like I missed something with all the branches off the main path.
Wide variety of animals and overall a very organized and well done zoo.
One of the places to visit if someone is in the New York city.
I love it. But today was too hot to walk. But still a great place to go with the family.
The best zoo I've been to on the east coast. I would say it's on par with San Diego Zoo. It's surprisingly cheaper compared to some other zoos.
..Went on A Wednesday with my daughters school ..Alot of schools were there also
Loved the zoo, is an all day event for adults and kids too
Yo! You heading to Bronx Zoo? I would say Awesome. I really loved the experience. Be ready to spend one full day (atleast) there so that you might enjoy most of the attractions. I really liked the Asian Wildlife monorail, Congo Gorilla zoo and the lions and zebras in African wildlife. I still remember the african elephant happy. And ohh the red panda was cute. There was a dinosaur safari which I couldn't take as I had a limited time. Zoo shuttles make your life easy but remember many are there who thinks like you. So, expect a long queue. Enjoy and be sure to have some food as well. Ofcourse, you can get food from there. Five stars for Bronx Zoo.
One of the best zoo in the east coast. Very good for 2-3 year olds
Ok but not many animals to be seen in their designated area. Maybe sleep or hiding? I dont know.
Pretty good all around. If you want to go be aware many animals aren't outside due to snow. So either get a membership yo come back at a warmer time or be prepared to see less
Beautiful. Lots to see here. They give Veterans discounts for admission and their guests. Thank you for recognizing veterans!
Nice big zoo with so much to see! Great place for kids to learn about animals they may never see in person in the wild. The indoor jungle exhibit in particular is fabulous. And they have so many birds! The big cats definitely seemed a bit stressed, and their enclosures seemed small for their size, but it's NYC and taking that into consideration, still impressive.
Always an awesome experience. The staff are also well trained to be courteous and friendly.
Exellent place for family to spend a day. You require minimum one day to see all the places. Different species of animals are kept and we'll maintained. Must visit place if you are animal lover.
Gorgeous amazing zoo. Huge! You need a whole day to explore. Several night exhibits. Fantastic exhibits. Definitely worth the visit!
Huge zoo, with large sized enclosures. Went on winter Wednesday, so got in for free. Would recommend paying extra to see the indoor exhibits especially on cold days. Bird house, and mouse house are a must see.
Was a VERY hot place tbh. The animals were interesting, and my favorite area was personally the Asia District. There were red pandas and something that looked like a silver tiger, and it was really cool. I underestimated the size of the zoo, and I went on a Wednesday, which means it's free entry. Sidenote, I recommend buying the water sold by the long line that's only $1. Inside it's $4, so get some water, you NEED to stay hydrated.
Kinda disappointed. Kinda dirty. Prob won t go back. Not worth the traffic going their and parking is a joke.
The Zoo is great. A lot of animals to see. The only bad thing is the food! It was disgusting!!! But other than that it's worth it to spend a day there.
Nice experience, especially when is not too crowded. Ideal for a family activity. You get to see a big variety of animals and get to exercise for walking. They have different activities, especially for children. Look for the sea lion feeding. Good parking space. The food offered there can be improved.
I wish we could see the animals more upclose. However this zoo is beautiful for children. Cant wait to bring my kids here someday.
You cannot miss this spot. Wednesday's are a good day to go. Love the Dinosaur Safari! And I have never walked so much in my life. Satisfying. There are extras you have to pay for here and there but we'll worth it. Sea lions was my favorite!
The zoo is such and amazing place for learning and adventures. It is a very large zoo so only plan to do part so you can enjoy your time. I highly recommend membership for those who live close by.
This is a wonderful place to visit in NY. Visitors have the opportunity to see and learn about a wide variety of animals from around the world, as well as support a great organization which works to protect wildlife. You should definitely make time to visit this wonderful place.
Best place in the world. As every other place in the city Wednesday is donation day. Only gotta pay extra for Congo gorilla forest and mono rail and butterflies
Didn't expect that it is so huge. Really enjoyed it. All animals have a lot of space for living. It is better to reserve whole day for visiting it. Good souvenir shop is available on site
You may to spend a whole day there. It's nice place , where we can meet a lot of different animals, and take care of them. Everything very organized, staff frendly and nice! Awesome place for kids. Definitely recommend! By the way Wednesday general admission is free!
It's bigger than the DC Zoo and any other Zoo we've seen so far in the US, bring sunscreen, comfy shoes and lots of energy to walk a lot!
The Bronx Zoo is a zoo located within Bronx Park, in the Bronx, in New York. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States by area, comprising 265 acres of park lands and naturalistic habitats separated by the Bronx River. On average, the zoo has 2.15 million visitors each year as of 2009.
One of the best zoos in the world. A gem in the Bronx!
Fantastic Zoo hidden in the Bronx. We loved it... lots of room for the animals and a well kept zoo. The train ride is a must as you get a great tour of the zoo. Possibly the only place in New York you can ride a camel.
Zoo is nice & fun but could be better with better navigation and signs and better parking instead of this expensive useless parking
Had a great time..the total experience package is great.highly recommended
Bought My tickets online and the experience was wonderful. There is too much to see. I go back each year
Nice day for Boo at the Zoo. Definitely need more than one handicap stall in bathrooms as many Moms and Grandmoms take young kids in there and the true handicap can't get in. Also could use better hand drivers like they have in the Children's Zoo
OMG a breathing space where animals are in close proximity to their natural habitats. You need more than a day to see all this amazing zoo has to offer. I am blown away
We visited the zoo and went to the Dinosaur Safari. It was AMAZING! I liked it as much as my 2 year old son... maybe even a little bit more. We have an annual membership so it only cost $4 each adult. The dinosaurs were life sized, full scale and super lifelike. The guide was fantastic and it was such an enjoyable ride around the park. Can t wait to go back.
Super nice. Need to add a new entering so there isnt a long line
If you have kids, it s a must do in NYC! It s one of the best zoos we ve been to!
We went at the end of the season and the shuttle wasn't running. It's a big zoo to walk around in the heat! It's still a great zoo with a lot to see.
What a magic place in the middle of the city. The animals seem good taken care and beautiful. The people who work there are really helpful. The best part for me was visiting the Gorilla Forest and the monorail.
The zoo was a bit empty.. dont know if its because of the winter season or its always like this.. bit we didnt see the lions or giraffes also the wild dogs.. all of them was hidden somewhere cuz was cold
I loved this place so big and I loved the amazing activities they are having for Halloween . Could not see everything because the place is so so big, beautiful wild and friendly people who work there they say everything for everyone, food, adventure, wildlife, activities, live music etc
The Bronx Zoo was great beautiful waterfalls and nice area to walk around we saw the seals that seals put on a good show
Such a great zoo! We try to go as much as we can ! So much to see
It's a huge place. And great place to go with family. Also u get free one year membership with NYC ID
For people using public transport, Bronx zoo is easily accessed using the 2 and 5 subway lines from Manhattan. There are several entrances to the zoo and each has a subway station nearby. We went in winter, definitely a bad time to visit the zoo. Most animals were not in their exhibits. Even the seabird aviary was closed so we couldn't see the penguin feeding. Other than that I feel it's a great place to spend a day. The sea lion feeding session is definitely awesome. My personal favorites were the the aquatic birds section and the mouse house.
The most amazing place to take your kids in the Bronx! So much to do and see! The Madagascar is one to visit! Don't miss the sea lions being fed because it really is entertaining for the kids to watch! The peacocks roam around the zoo freely and kids love chasing them around. The rhinos are also a great one to see! Wednesdays is a free day! Come and enjoy the Zoo for free, just be prepared for a bit of crowd but who does love free entrance! Highly recommended!
The Bronx Zoo is one of the best zoos I have been too
Great exhibits and friendly staff. Medical team was amazing in treating my cousin with great care when she twisted her knee
Very nice place. I enjoyed Madagascar animals and the sea lions feeding. If you can, bring your water and food. Wednesday's free entrance, a donation is suggested.
It was so much fun for the whole family! We enjoyed watching animals and the staff were nice.
the only downfall of this Is the cost. its a bit pricey. but the experience is awesome. you definitely need to plan your entire day there. its pretty big. make sure you bring walking shoes too. fun for all ages. I'd go again. as long as someone else pays.
This is a beautiful zoo, i really enjoyed my experience here. The animals were amazing. The staff was also very friendly and, professional.
WOW !! Dinosaur trail was worth the wait, get there early though.
LOVE the educational aspect and the truly natural habitats !!
Have always been a huge fan of the Wildlife Conservation Society and the work they do internationally to help ensure survival of species!
Spell binding is the only thing that I can come up with. This is a truly amazing experience. The quiet and calm in the middle of the City is magic. The layout gives the exhibits a natural feel and for the most part the cages are gone. This is truly a destination for all ages. This must be a "bucket list" item.
Love the Bronx zoo I have so many memories as a child and as a grown up I used to take my child and now as a grandma I take my granddaughters.
For the price on Wednesday is great. Good discounts. Children would love it. Better to go in summer than winter, hardly see animals.
It was amazing the animals communicated with me and my fam
