I visited Bronx Zoo this summer towic, the second time was on Wednesday and it was a bad idea, if you want to enjoy don't go on Wednesday. The first visit, which was not on Wednesday, was great experience for me and my family. We plan
The best zoo you're gonna get out of NY but if you aren't showing up literally right at opening you're missing attractions and that's a big hit to your wallet if you're getting those 40 dollar passes to view only half the place.
Really enjoyed it. It's pretty big so nearly impossible to see everything in one visit. We were there Sat. 9/14 and it was overcast and low 70s (perfect weather!) so it wasn't very crowded. We moved through pretty quicky and we saw probably got to see 80-90%. Will go again sometime.
Visited the Bronx Zoo for their Holiday Lights display. Lots of fun, and it was absolutely beautiful.
Had my first Wild Encounter today at the Bronx Zoo and I can not express enough how wonderful the entire experience was. The staff was so friendly and amazing. We went to the cheetah encounter as a surprise birthday present for mom and the staff helped to keep it a surprise to the last minute. Needless to say she loved it and everyone went above and beyond to make it a special event. We can not wait to go back and participate in another wild encounter, meeting the animals was an experience unto itself. It gives you a new appreciation for the animals and the trainers and all the great work WCS does. Everyone should go to a Wild Encounter at least once.
One of my favorite places to go ever. The zoo is huge. The monorail is always worth the ride. World of Darkness is awesome (I love bats).
I have so much fun with my daughter my son and my wife and my daughter School God bless the Bronx zoo
The zoo was great but when visiting with a stroller there is no secure location to place it when you want to view certain attractions
Everything and more with the kids. Clean and wonderful
Huge zoo. Wasent impressed. Good for family with kids. I have been wanting to g ok to this zoo for a long time . Alot ot the animals have very small enclosures.
I ve always wanted to go to the Bronx Zoo and it did not disappoint! The animals were great,
Park was clean and the servers were very friendly!
Can t wait to bring my kids here!
As an animal lover, I go to this zoo quite often. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. You can find them all over the park and they will gladly answer any questions about the animals, or teach you something new. It's a nice day trip. It's huge, but the setting is beautiful as you make your way through the zoo. There are many different events throughout the year for families and some for adults only. Daily activities change throughout the year. It's worth checking out at Christmastime, just bundle up because it's cold. I suggest that you bring a stroller for the little ones because it's a LOT of walking. If you have grandparents or elderly people in your group, you may want to get a wheelchair/scooter because there are also a lot of inclines as you walk. You get a good workout in after spending the day!
Great zoo with large areas for animals and exhibits
It was nice to be able to take my kid to the zoo again. Zoo was not crowded which I love.
Great place to see wildlife. The lights were spectacular too
Went to the Holiday Lights experience and it was FANTASTIC!! Members get 40% of tickets and it was still worth the price of admission! Kids were enthralled with everything. The lantern walk is a phenomenal photo opportunity and worth waiting in line for (line moves quick) everything else was also done well! Didn't even feel bad about paying 6$ to toast a marshmallow ;)
Great settings, and good variety of animals. But not pleasant to be stopped at various attractions to be charged extra. Rather have cheaper tickets overall with option to apply for discounts, and to control crowd levels - require booking in advance with some first come first serve options. Also make all these options extremely obvious.
Beautiful Zoo. Well kept animals. Staff really cares about conservation of species and our planet in general.
This is such a great Zoo. Love the nature trek for kids! And the Sea Lion feeding!
Huge zoo with large diversity and animals well-taken care of. Don't come when it's cold out as many animals won't be out. Could get too overcrowded during summer and peak seasons.
The zoo is great considering it's in the Bronx which is it's own Jungle. There is a shuttle which quickly brings you all over the park and there are lots of activities for kids and adults of all ages. A pretty good size zoo and a family can spend a whole day here.
Its the best place for all ages. Nice place to go on a date too!
Have to be lucky to visit the zoo to see the animals. But overall it was good
The best zoo I've ever been to. The only zoo that can even come close is the national zoo in DC. A bit pricey but worth it.
Loved visiting the Bronx zoo. Timed entry tickets limit crowds by a lot, the southern boulevard parking lot was not even a third full on a Saturday. There were instructions everywhere for enabling social distancing with instructors reminding everyone to maintain distance. 99% of the crowd wore masks, kids included. We felt safe and unexposed the whole time we were there. Our 17month old loved everything, particularly the children's zoo. Though all the indoor exhibits like the Madagascar, world of reptiles were closed, there was still a lot to enjoy. Boy, what a fun day!
Nice place. Just which there was more of an animal encounter. A place to cool off would have been nice too.
One of the best zoo's in the world. If you're in NYC, it's definitely a must see
My kids love it there! We go on Wedesdays but it can get crowded
Giant and clean zoo. New trends in zoo industry: animals have spacious areas, so it's hard to see them)
The Bronx who is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended to families with children of all ages
Who doesn't like the Bronx Zoo?? This is a must visit. Few times a year. Awesome on the holidays. Halloween was awesome but can't wait for Christmas light show!!!
Good Zoo and every people is good and animal exotic perfect build great park.
Some rare collections and clean environment. Family time.
Very large area to cover.... Like walking into the forest... Very nice place must see
U have to see it to believe it ;)
For us is number one zoo with great new activities for kids and parents
One of the best and biggest zoos in the north east. You can spend a whole day here and still have exhibits left to see. Kids will love it
Absolutely loved it. Had a great family day. Staff was always friendly!
Fabulous zoo...free on Wednesday but food is very pricey...I recommend you bring your own picnic with you.
A classic place to take the kids in the Bronx. You forget you're in the city. Lots of discounts and the attractions are great.
Beautiful experience. Can t wait to come back another time
The Holiday Lights offered a chance to create some Seasonal Cheer during this very different Holiday! The very colorful Giraffes are mesmerizing! The "Smore Stations" at the end is a great idea! The fire pits, roasting marshmallows, getting toasty, is perfect set up for socially distancing appearing more normal!! Only disappointment was almost entire park was in white lights. It was dazzling, but more color would have created more excitement and "wonder".
Love this zoo but pretty soon with all the exhibits they keep adding it may take more than one day to see it all. I think it's well worth the price. We usually bring our own drinks and food from home because the food prices are too much.
All variety of birds flying around, animal, like peacocks, walking among people, the Grizzlies roaring, the majestic beauty of the giraffes, the fascinating reptiles, the sounds of children laughing running, being amazed, the contentment ok the families, the socio as l exhibits and the special musical events, wow there is no better place to visit but the wonderful exciting BRONX ZOO.
School trip with grandson to the Bronx Zoo. I love the zoo
Had a GREAT time for my son birthday! It's so big we didn't get to see all of the zoo! Can't wait to go back!
After living in the city for more than a decade, I finally made a day visit to the Bronx Zoo. What a delightful visit featuring many animals and creatures from around the world to learn about. Fortunately most walking paths are under the shade making for an enjoyable walk on a hot summer day. Be sure to arrive early in the day if you plan to cover all areas as the grounds are expansive.
Great experience definitely getting the season pass next year
I went to see the holiday lights. The lantern animals were so beautiful! And it was a few days after the snowstorm so it was even prettier. I loved watching the ice sculptor, it was a unique experience. The bat puppeteer was hilarious! Everyone was really nice and welcoming.
Always a favorite of mine I think there's a day that it's free for the public
The staff was amazing and welcoming. My toddlers and I enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely recommend anyone of any age to this place
Considering that it's in the Bronx, it was neat. Its not like people say. Its definitely something you must experience. One other thing i really like was that its close to. And Besides it being close to home. The zoo staff are very friendly and the zoo is very clean.
One of my favorite pass times . I love the animals and the organic efforts for conservation. A truly wonderful place to be .
Im from NY and this alot of fun for your family. Lots of nice people and animal exhibets to see!
Great place. Lot of Exhibits. Love the place. Lions..tigers..elephants..reptiles you name it. It is like real jungle...nice monorail..nice shuttle..affordable tickets..very educational. Only think I did not like it using camels for raiding..ever for adults..please stop camel raids ..or keep it for little kids.
Congo Gorilla exhibit..Asia jungle arr the best. One day is not enough to cover ..
Felt nice to enjoy the zoo with a little bit of people
Always an adventure!!! Never grows old...Make beautiful memories with family and friends...
The total experience package was well worth it. The monkeys and gorillas was a must see. All the way from new Orleans, la besides Audubon zoo in New orleans this zoo is excellent
A must go place! Animals are nicely kept without harming them and providing good view for visitors! I loved pink flamingos, the look was heavenly!
Super great zoo and hearing the lion roar was incredible
Observing animals in their natural habitat is something you just don't see everyday
Best zoo ever. Lots of great animals, rides for the kids and places to sit down because there is a lot of walking. Skip the kiosks that sell food. Eat at the main restaurant. Lots more healthy choices.
Love this place and it's kind of free on wednesdays, with a lil donation 2 the park.. my home town the bronx
Excellent..Thank you Councilman CABRERA for a beautiful event
Great layout and selection of animals. I just wish the admission wasn't as high. Definitely the best zoo in all of New York City.
A beautiful zoo, only cons are that it's not handicap/stroller accessible at many of the exibits, and the maps are not great.
First time in NYC! I was looking forward to this zoo. I was not thrilled. It is huge, but only saw about 5 animals.
The best zoo in the world. We are members. Disappointed that I didn't check the opening date for the Bengali Express, we were a week early. We went into Jungle World since we walked all the way to Wild Asia. Our membership includes entry to there, as well as the Congo and Children's Zoo. We did go to Congo that day too.
The new thing for this season is the Dinosaur Safari. It was too crowded so we went back the next day and waited just as long as it had been the day before. It wasn't so bad. We had been through the whole zoo the day before so didn't feel like we were missing doing other things by standing in line for an hour and 20 minutes. And it's the only thing at the zoo that our membership didn't include.
I didn't have high expectations of the attraction. Was pleasantly surprised. The animatronic dinos were great. It rained while we went through it, kind of made it more authentic..
I would love to go back to finish looking and learning at all the beautiful animals.
Awesome. Recommend trail traveling to the east side of the park.
Beautiful location, definitely worth to go on free admission day. Many different animals, but going in the winter you won't see as many as when the weather is nice.
It was a great time with me and my kids. We visited the Congo to see the gorillas and the giraffes
I mean animals are cute the gift shop crazy expensive the cafe nice the whole zoo smells like poop the ice cream and smoothies and popcorn good I would recommend u go to the dinosaur place rlly nice
An oasis in a busy city. Calm and peaceful with loads of trails through the park. Definitely a must see even if you don't have the time to experience everything. The Christmas lights were unlike anything I've ever seen before and the tree as the centerpiece was truly something to behold for the performance and display of stories in light within it's branches. Be prepared for lots of walking and if it's cold outside, definitely dress warmly as there are few places to duck into to warm up.
Just love the Bronx zoo. Once you enter it surely doesn t feel like the Bronx luscious grounds different animals and all types of different people just enjoying life. Awesome walks and lots of fun.
