Been coming here since I was a kid. Exhibits keep getting better and better!
Been coming here since I was a kid. Exhibits keep getting better and better!
Amazing place. Was super hot outside but the trees created lots of shade. Wonderful staff and my daughter loved it.
The first zoo I went in my life and it was a school day and I went on the trip with my classmates and had a lot of fun there cool and cute animals
My family and I have been members for two years now and still learn something new every time. Best zoo in the City!
I will always love the Zoo. But the service gets worse every time I come here. Incompetent kiosk and stands, rude, don't know or love the Zoo. I guess everything goes downhill.
Such a great zoo!!! So much to see and do! Lots of parking too, which I was worried about!
great variety of animals! Nice staff and great prices, really enojyed here!
Awesome place for family, great even for a nice walk with lovely park like atmosphere. Can get very crowded on weekends and "free" days. Get there early is the suggestion. Very good about allowing you to bring outside food and drinks.
An amazing park! Well managed and beautiful how natural it looks
Great place to spend the afternoon! Lots to look at. The animals were awesome to see!
One of the largest zoos that carries 6,000 animals in shows every Saturday at 7 8 on Animal Planet the Run Zoo thank you
Wasted a whole day and saw nothing worthwhile. Most exhibits were closed. The least the Bronx zoo can do is update their website and let visitors know of this. 4 ppl and a hundred dollars later...it was not worth going in April. Call and make sure all exhibits are open.
Woo hoo! Was able to venture out. There were limited attractions to view, but still awesome.
Best zoo experience in New York. Though they are limiting the show up animals in winter. But overall you will enjoy it.
The Bronx Zoo is a wonderful experience. You need the total-experience tickets though, even if you don't think you're going to do anything extra. I highly suggest skipping the dinasaur safari. We spent 3 hours on line for it... To see 5 minutes of fake dinasaurs. It wasted so much of our time there. The line didnt even LOOK long but it still took forever. But overall it was a beautiful experience for my family. Lots of walking so be ready! The gorilla exhibit was incredible. They're so smart, you could tell. We missed the one with lions and tigers which was disappointing but not the zoos fault by any means.
A huge place to explore. Animals are in an expanse of land. There are indoor exhibits, or habitats, simulating tropical environments but for an additional fee for entrance. The best way to enjoy the Bronx Zoo is with multiple visits and a yearly pass that's very affordable. The zoo does offer free admission on Wednesdays. But the WCS passes are good for all WCS zoos in New York City.
Very fun place many things to see good for the kids
Way to crowded. Had to park on grass in the way way back and then was blocked in dispite workers directing cars.. Also was not able to see many animals since they are in such a big area.. By the time you get to the other side the animal is gone.
Such a chill and blissful place during the pandemic. I hope they can limit entry once things are back to normal. Staring at improbable birds in front of beautiful backdrops while my 8 y.o. discusses what life would be like as one of those strange and beautiful creatures.
No animals to see disappointed we use to go and what happen sad . This is august.
Great place for the kids. Many animals to see and some nice exhibits as well
Excellent zoo with wide variety of wild animals & birds.
Fun place. All kinds of animals. Be sure to spend at least 4 to 5 hours there and get the total experience pass through the website.
One of the nicest Zoos we have visited. Our family enjoyed it very much. It's worth it to buy the total experience package.
A lot of shade, brings families together, and fun for all ages
I love the Bronx zoo but Wednesdays are free days and it horrible. I will never visit on a Wednesday again. In spite of it all the children enjoyed the trip.
A beautiful chance to forest bathe yourself in an urban environment and see some animals.
Visited for Holiday lights and it was truly an enchanting event.
I took my niece to on a holiday and she thoroughly enjoyed it. At 2 years old all the excitement tired her out within 3 hours but she got to see a lot. The downside is that we could not find a bathroom with a changing table. This was very frustrating. I had to change her outside on a bench. Luckily, there were many other families doing the same so it wasn't awkward. Highly recommend the staff construct bathrooms with accessible changing tables in both the womens and mens restrooms.
Really cool place to visit. Plan on spending your whole day here. It's a really huge zoo. Food is pretty good but can get really expensive. I suggest bringing sandwiches.
Always a wonderful experience. Wear your mask and social distance.
The Bronx Zoo is always great! I love the new attractions added. The nature trek is phenomenal my boys loved it! I also like the dedicated space for toddlers. This makes it easier to manage my three kids alone.
most animals listed weren't even there, parking price is way high. not a fun place
Awesome place ! Definitely worth it to get the total experience tickets. Food is on the expensive end so I would bring some sandwiches in a bag next time. Gets very crowded during feeding times for the animals , so check times before you get there for a head start! We decided to check out other areas while people crowded around feeding shows lol . Alot of walking so dress comfortable!
Good place to visit during summer time with your family and specially kids as it will enhance there knowledge and develop their interest in the wildlife. Separate section for kids where they can touch open animals like pig,hen and cow and feed them. On every Wednesday you can enjoy free entry in the zoo but for limited stock. For photographer also there are lots of good options to showcase and explore the zoo. COVid arrangement is good and the occupancy is restricted to 25%. Kids enjoy a lot there that's why so many people buy yearly passes.
Visited July 24th, their first day of re-opening to public. Appreciated the Zoo s work on installing measures like signs and stickers for social distancing but was frustrated that so many of our fellow visitors completely disregarded the signs and suggestions for staying 6 feet apart, wearing masks properly, etc. We saw many families wearing their masks on their chin or not at all. I would have liked to see more enforcement of these rules by staff.
This is a wonderfully well-kept and large zoo but I don t recommend it at this time for those who are trying to adhere more strictly to social distancing protocols.
We were also really sad that 50% of the exhibits were closed. We didn t realize this before getting our tickets, so our experience was kind of clouded by that frustration. Recommend you to find out which exhibits will be open before visiting!
So big and lot of animals!
I'll definitely come again.
Amazing experience! The city disappears once you enter the zoo. It s a large property, so try to get there early or you won t be able to see it all. I recommend upgrading to the Total Experience, it s worth all the extras you get.
Many animals were sleeping due to the heat. The zoo has definitely been upgraded since I was there last about 20 years ago. It was a nice day out
Enjoyed myself even through the torrential rain and wind storm that persisted throughout the day.
Amazing place. Come early. Get the annual membership because a lot of things cost extra if you don't.
I've been going here since I was in the womb, lol, it will always be one of my favorite places. Ideal for families and it's easily accessible from public transportation. To fully enjoy the zoo, I recommend the Total Experience which allows you and your family to enjoy every attraction. Food is quite expensive but you get free refills by buying a souvenir cup. Wednesday is donation /complimentary pass day.
Beautifully kept zoo with lots of sanitizing stations. All indoor exhibits are closed due to covid. Still good educational experience for kids.
The bronx zoo is a great place to take children, not the best zoo in the world but they have animals. Fairly large but the merchandise can be very exspensive.
Due to covid 19 a lot of things were closed.
No elephants and tigers were sleeping.
We walked around for like an hour and did not see a single animal.
The madgescar exhibit was good and the petting zoo for the kids.
Fantastic day. A little cold today so some animals were hiding. We had a good time.
I grew up going to the Bronx zoo and now I am able to bring my kid's. The only issue was people were smoking weed. I think there should be more security around as this is a huge Zoo and monitor the walk ways for inappropriate doings and keep it safer for us and the children.
We buy the Family Premiere Plan every year and we visit the zoo about 30 times a year. We love it!
the peacock is scary but it did not attack me. the animals are nice. lots of walking
The Bronx Zoo is an emerald green gem in the middle of the City. The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the organization which runs the Zoo, has done a pretty good job to create exhibits which closely resemble the natural habitats. It's a Zoo, so it's not perfect. But it's done with the animals' welfare in mind. To see the whole Zoo, you would need about 5-6 hours. Wear comfortable shoes.
Enjoyed the animals but facilities eg toilets not great. Also expensive and not that easy to get to.
Great way to spend a day, my kids (ages 5 and 7) had an absolute blast! The zoo is enormous, you won't be able to cover it one day, but it was still a lot of fun. They have great exhibits, the 3D movie was a lot of fun too, my 5 year old loved it! I think it's one of the biggest zoos in the world
Could have had tents on the line for the dinosaur safari. The sun and wait was brutal. Bring a fan for the kids or have someone wait on the line for you and the kids
I used to come here every year for a school trip. My favorite part was when you can see the dolphins. I recommend coming to this place.
Awesome. Went on a Wednesday. Ticket/admission was confusing. I got talked into buying the $15 general admission tickets. It was cool. Crowded tho .
They have enough actives for the whole family. It was a great experience
I recently went on a class trip here with my animal science class and had the most wonderful time. I should quickly mention that we went on a Wednesday, so our tickets to enter the park was free, but we still had to pay a few extra dollars for the extra exhibits within the park, so I definitely recommend going on a Wednesday if you have a large group, but still bring some extra money if you are planning on going to the petting zoo or any other extra areas. From the moment you enter, you can feel the energy of all the excited kids and other visitors as they all want to rush to their favorite animals. Being an animal science student, and after studying proper enclosure setups, it made me and my class very happy to see that all the animals looked comfortable and content with their living conditions. No matter what animals you like, there are plenty of very interesting ones to visit that everyone will enjoy. Some of my friends enjoyed the reptile house, some enjoyed the birds, but my personal favorite was the African animals with the lions, giraffes, and African wild dogs. I was disappointed that the zoo did not have my favorite animals of all time, the gray wolf, but there were so many other animals to see that I barely missed them. My only suggestion would be that you keep at least 6-7 hours open for your visit if you want to see the entire zoo, especially if you want to see the extra exhibits like the Congo Gorilla Forest, Jungle World, and the Children's Zoo. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone into the area with time to spare.
Amazing zoo. Monorail felt a bit rushed but overall loved how much room each exhibit was.
Come to this place on the weekends , Wow what a beautiful place. We love the animals. This is really huge place with lots of animals. no other zoos can compare to Bronx Zoo. !!
Phenomenal i loved it. Go early early so you vs see everything!!!
In some areas you have to pay if you want to see it...
Awesome day trip! Had a great family day at the zoo!
Great zoo. Loved it. Big enclosures and lots of animals.
Not going back till all covid restrictions are lifted all indoor exhibits were closed to walk around with a mask on in this heat was brutal
Visit here with my family multiple times a year, it just never gets old. Kids always have a fantastic time. Zoo is pretty big so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Like most parks food is a little "blah" and pricey, although the funds do go to a good cause. Same some money and bring your own lunch if you can.
Beautiful Zoo. I recommend the Total Experience tickets and just plan on being there all day.
Very clean and very big. Good cages for the animals
Lots to see! Great family fun. Got to see the red pandas. The Bison are always sleeping! ...LOL! Free admission on Wednesday s...but it s too crowded! You can zip line!!!!!
