Definitely go in warmer weathers or you will miss a lot of the animals.
Definitely go in warmer weathers or you will miss a lot of the animals.
Lots of animals and things to explore. there are quest for kids like treasure hunts and stuff so they could win book marks and stickers tattoos and maps and stuff
Always a great outing. Safety precautions in place, some enclosed exhibits not open. Masks and Timed reserved entry required. Yet even with restrictions, I had a great time.
A really awesome zoo! My husband and I are big animal lovers so we typically go to zoos in other cities we visit. I had heard good things about the Bronx zoo and it didn t disappoint. The animal enclosures were set up really well so that you could usually always see the animals. The monkeys and gorillas were our favorites. You could easily spend half a day+ here
Absolutely love the Bronx Zoo! Never gets old and is for all ages to enjoy.
When visiting in november, some of the animals weren't visible, but the animals present were active and it was a great activity to do with the kids.
Awesome place, just the right mix of animals and kids play!!
Lovely. Use the trollies to see as much as you can.
Can't see everything due to lines for social distancing but enjoyable none the less.
Massive place. Highly recommend getting $39 Total Experience. As $33 to get in and there are 4-6 $6-$7 extras you may like otherwise, to save yourself some $s.
The Bronx Zoo is a great place to visit with kids. There is so much to see that you can't do that in one day.
Everything about the zoo is amazing. Been going for 35 years it has never failed me.
Nice zoo. Has the creatures expected at a decent sized zoo.
We have a membership for 3 or 4 years straight. It is an investment. Our family enjoys the Bronx Zoo several times a year. They are always mixing up events and themes. We look forward to holidays at the Zoo, especially Boo At The Zoo. This year's Dinosaur attraction was pretty decent and the kids enjoyed themselves. BEST zoo in the United States.
Great place to bring the family. One of the best zoos in the U.S.
It was ok not worth to pay for tickets. Lot walking. Tuesday entry it s free but just have to pay for parking.
Very expensive since on t.v. Not the same zoo as years ago. Not disabled friendly.
Wonderful place for fauna lovers. Animals are kept in their respective favorable conditions.
Loved Holiday Lights!
So pretty and amazing!
It s an amazing place for kids and adults too, Wednesday is free .
Very like this
And like photo
Beautiful, big and lots of fun for the entire family. We visit this Zoo often and this weekend we visited and had some minor inconveniences so I reached out to guest relations. Shout out to Grace who was sooo helpful polite and knowledgeable. As much as we announce the negative in things we me must do the same for the positive, thanks again Grace!!
Some employees are fantastic, there was an Asian woman who was incredibly friendly and nice. It was winter, didn t see much but it was cool. Food is very expensive tho.
The biggerst Zoo in NY. A mustsee for animal lovers. every wednesday free entry. it is adviced to buy the experience pass for 14,95 dollars.
Zoo is great. They have a reduced price day during the summer (not sure if it's only the summer). You can park in the street around the zoo so you can visit for very little.
One of the best place i ever visited in my life. I am thankful to my friends who forced me to visit this amazing place. Now, I love this place I will definitely come back to this place. Each and every species are unique and very beautiful you would definitely like this place too!!
Great but need more benches to rest between attractions.
The siting of the various animals were nice! We got to see an elephant and tiger as well. They also had a Children's zoo for the kids which mine really enjoyed. The reason they get 3 stars is because of the ridiculous amount of time you had to wait for both the monorail and the trolleys. We were there for over 5 hours and did not get too see everything because we were waiting in line for 45 minutes for the rail and 40 for the trolley. People pay extra for these services beside the zoo entrance. On a positive note the food was good especially the funnel cake.
We spent 6 hours there (without a break for lunch). Ended the day with monorail ride to "Asia." it was quite worth a 30 minute wait in line. (Memorial Day)
Very big Zoo you might wanna stay for a whole day to view all the animals
One of my favorite places to go growing up and still is.
On the more expensive side but all in all a very good experience. My family and I loved it.
Start early. Get a membership if you can to enjoy as much as you possibly can. If possible, you can go on Wednesdays for free, but many exhibits, etc. have an extra fee. Dont bring kids under 3. They wont have the patience needed. The zoo is much too large for that. Go to the queens zoo for that. Cool 35 years go. Cooler now
Wonderful zoo! So big csnt see all in one day. Highly reccomend the train ride in thr Africa Asia section
We saw the holiday lights, they were amazing. Not crowded due to time slots and lots of hand sanitizing stations
This place is wonderful for children for a full day visit. When I went there there were animatronic dinosaurs in the Dinosaur Safari program at the end of May 2019. You go into a ride in the jungle on a wagon. The cue at the morning are longer for this tour. The dinos move very few, but the show gives an idea of the sizes of actual dinosaurs. The booklet you receive at the safari is very good and informative. The best way to get an overview of the zoo is to take the shuttle (two main stations) and go to Wild Asia sector and jump into the Wild Asia Monorail. Besides of this prepare your feet for long walking.
It was a fun day out with the family. My one issue is that I had to wait 45 minutes to get in because two people didn't know something and didn't ask.
Awesome zoo. Really enjoyed the experience with the family.
I had a great time at this place! There was a lot of diverse animals, and you could really tell the zookeepers cared for the animals. It's a great place to take little kids to learn about wildlife and nature. The only thing I suggest is to bring your own food and drinks. The food is pretty bad and is pretty expensive. And also bring some extra money. There are a lot of stuff that involve additonal amounts of money to be spent, and if you have little children, be ready to spend them.
I love this place ! Animals in their natural habitat , can t possible ask for more !
The Bronx zoo has really come along from my childhood.. 66 years later now taking my granddaughter for an adventure
Great place to visit with Grandkids. Clean and safe.
If you are a bird lover, you will definitely enjoy your visit here. I have been to many other zoos but Bronx zoo has a huge number of bird species. If you come on a Sunday arrive early if you want to get parking. I arrived at 11am and barely made the cut off. Parking goes from $16 (general parking lot) to $23 (fountain circle) depending on what parking lot you go. Wear comfortable sneakers you will do a lot of walking!
Exhibits were closed even though it was hot outside, hardly any animals, over priced membership
Awesome awesome zoo. Still a little sad to see certain animals couped up. Others seem perfectly happy.
Great place for a spare-time visit. Lots of animals and attractions. However,I enjoyed more the park environment and that way the animals live in it,so naturally.:)
Great zoo! Fun for all ages, expect a lot of walking and it s a little pricy but it s worth it!
Cold and rainy day. Not much to see. Ive been to better Zoo's. DC, Miami, Lima Peru.
I loved it!! I enjoyed seeing all the animals and exhibits I could see! I wasn't able to see all of the animals and exhibits or try the tree top adventure, but, I had fun!
The gorilla exhibit was the best. Seeing and interacting with them was great! Seeing the young silverbacks act up was funny.
The monorail was relaxing and informative. My favorite view was the elephant. The conductor was pleasant and kept security a priority.
A few animals came close. A , monkeys and even a few s checked us out. A few were walking around with people. There were s that were unafraid. ALVIN!
The butterfly exhibit was interesting, but, the Butterfly Place in Westboro, Massachusetts was the best!
The food courts were pricy, but food was decent. Dippin' Dots had several locations.
Bathrooms were a little beaten on but okay.
Bring water and sunscreen!
I am thinking of going again!
Love the animals and they do a very spectacular job of keeping the animals and facilities clean and presentable
Loved it ! Beautiful escape in the city. Animals looked well kept! Most of the Lowland gorillas are born in the zoo - I didn t feel terrible. Very well maintained for the animals.
Staff and officers wouldn't let me enter to check on the inhabitants.
Plan ahead and pay in advance to reserve your spot(during Covid restrictions). If the weather is agreeable this is a great place to bring your family. I would recommend early arrival not just to avoid crowds, but the animals were practically performing. Parking is 17$ flat.
Had a great time with the kids .... bring food and drinks ... be prepared to walk a lot
You have to walk lot . Very large area, one cannot see entire zoo in one time. Shuttle service is not adequate.
Kids loved it, interesting stuff for adults too
**Edit** They changed the parking system here. Not only is it expensive, but it's impossible to get out of the parking lot towards the end of the day because they changed the payment system to ticketed and pay when you leave. It took about an hour to get out today. Terrible system, ruined the experience.
It seems to be getting more rundown as time goes on. It is expensive to get in and they charge extra for pretty mediocre "experience attractions". We really enjoy Zoos and Aquariums as a family, unfortunately The Bronx Zoo is pretty anticlimactic these days. Alot of the buildings are in disrepair, lots of trash around and inconvenient shuttles. Ive been coming here since the 1970's and it just doesn't deliver anymore. Hoping to see some innovation and upgrades in the future.
Nice place to keep the kids distracted actually. Also its a space which allows for people to get out without having to worry too much about all that's happening rn. Y'know. The staff enforced safety precautions really well and I was relieved to have an outing too.
Not worth the money or time. The zoo was very dirty and unorganized and difficult to find animals. Very few animals, which I am glad they aren't stuck here to live out their lives.
Amazing zoo with lots of animals! Kids will learn a lot about conservation and natural habitats here. Avoid coming here on Wednesday when it's free.
This place is the best. Everything is a bit over priced but not more than you would expect. It definitely helps to pay for a membership if you want to go often! The variety of animals is extraordinary and they have a lot of info on them. They also do suggested donation day which is cool for those who can't normally afford it. The special exhibits are pretty awesome, too.
Great zoo with a great mission. You should check it out for sure.
The zoo is ok, is very big and very hard to fit it all during one visit.
My nephew and I really enjoyed feeding time with the sea lions and the Dinosaur experience...AWESOME!!!
Great zoo! Hard to try to fit everything into one day, but it was very fun! Reccomend the Total Experience tickets
Best kept animals and grounds for a zoo. Animals looked in great condition and easy to see enclosures.
