Make a B line to the other side then spend the day...
Make a B line to the other side then spend the day walking back. Park is huge.

Not worth the price. At least 5 exhibits, you couldn't see the animals present. We did all that walking to see a bunch of nothing. Yes I understand some animals sneak off to sleep or whatever animals do. But At the same time, you don't want to pay for an experience you aren't receiving.
It was amazing and today was perfect there was no crowds
Animal friendly if u love looking at animals this is a place to enjoy the woods were the life of the animals began u might find your family at
This zoo is very pretty and large. The staff is nice and the bathrooms are good. The animals are very funny and the camels are especially funny. Make sure you have a map, because it's easy to get lost. Hope this helps!
Went here for an event they had with animatronic dinosaurs, very fun. Nice zoo
Light Show was alright, but knowing the amount of spectators why not hire more people especially at concession stands where the Zoo makes more money
Its pretty big and spread out. Be sure to leave enough time to see and do everything or you'll waste money. Also, if in separate cars be sure to park in the same lot..
This place is horrible. The space they provide these wild animals is sad.
Came here on the weekend. Was really impressed with the sheer size of the zoo and roaming space it had for its animals. We took in the special event "boogie in the Bronx" performance and had a great time. I would definitely come back here again without a doubt
This zoo is huge! And for just $15-on a Wednesday- you can enjoy every exhibit. Some animals did look sad, but this zoo looks like they actually care about the animals, having the space they need, and caring the preservation of species! They have so many animals, and they are up close to human view. The best area is the petting zoo!
Took my 8 yr old daughter she had a wonderful time.
Hadn't been there for quite some time. It was better than expected. Awesome time.
Good place to bring kids but sucks a lot of animals weren't able to be seen . On a sunday.
Great zoo. I give it 3 stars because I think zoos are kind of cruel in general. But as far as zoos goes, this is a great one.
Much updating needed. Animals appear to be well cared for. However, you need a paper map! It is very badly marked. Too few restrooms
Not enough plsced to sit
Visited World of Birds and Wild Asis Monorail
Love going to the zoo to see the different animals with my family and friends
Well worth the money for the "total experience" it is in fact worth becoming a yearly member! Always a well maintained place and the animals are so well looked after. Lines are kept in check and reasonable even at the busiest of days. A definite New York City staple.
Over priced and animals look under nourished! Many exhibits were closed.
Awesome, huge zoo, so fun and so big you will probably never be able to see everything in one day! Wednesday is get in free day, but get there early to get in without too much of a wait! We found that it was worth it to get the ultimate pass at the entrance, you can get in to every extra part of the zoo. There is a butterfly and bird garden, jungle exhibit, and awesome "bridge in the trees" walk, camel rides, big carousel and lots of other things! Well worth the trip!!
.The Zoo is great. Can't say anymore Its fabulous.
Sooo cool only thing that stunk was that the monorail wasnt opened for the season yet so couldnt see elephants
Poor small habitats for some animals! One silverback gorilla in a small confined cement floor tiny room all alone! A black leopard all alone in a glass rectangular box! Both animals had NO space, grass, toys, or company! Horrible conditions for animals! I cant give zero stars but if i could i would! I would never go back!
A wonderful resource for the community... A great place to spend the afternoon!
Best zoo in all the boroughs. Yerrrrrrrrrrr. Get your walking timbs out. And get to stepping. Year round events. Boo at the zoo in October and BREW at the zoo for the adults. Light show for Christmas. Take your honey out. Take your kids out. If you have kids. Gets the membership. Pays for itself in two visits. Enjoy.
One of my favorite zoo's in the tristate area because the animals are actually out
It's awesome, they need to improve the route way cus you will be lost
What can I say other than it's the Bronx Zoo! I really recommend doing the Wild Asia Monorail ride. Lots of great stuff to see and the train narrator had a great witty sense of humor.
One of the best zoos int the world! All animals look like they are well taken care of and enjoying their lives. You can easily spend the entire day there, walking around and enjoying the nature.
What a wonderful experience. We spent hours in a place that children and adults can learn about the habitat and animals from all over the world. By the way the staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Year long Adventure. If you live near by membership makes sense, no matter what time of year you go the Zoo is an amazing place for Adukts and kids alike. Tons of seasonal activities from Boo at the Zoo to Holiday lights or Boogie Down Bronx keeps every visit unique.
It does not matter how many times during the year I visit the Bronx Zoo, there is always something to see and discover, no matter the time of year. I have been a member for the pass six years and have not regret any visit.
My biggest suggestion is to stay away from Wednesdays (admission is free) too many people and the trolley does not work.
Do schedule your visit for about 5 hrs, bring plenty of frozen water. If you are bringing kids, make sure you have a stroller, they will be tired. I would also suggest you bring some snacks. The food at a reasonable price, but the lines during lunch, are long.
Make sure you make time for the gorilla exhibit and the tiger. The 4D show is always amazing!
Great place, some times missed because you focus in Manhattan
love this place but they day i went everything was pretty much closed
You need to pay full access, otherwise you miss out the gorillas, butterflies and the jungle (26$ general admission, 40$full). It has white rhinos, a Comodo dragon and red panda. It is a big park to walk in, nice, but confusing because you walk a great lot and all you find in some areas is ice creams, restaurants and shops. Anyhow, pleasant place
Wow what a nice do I mean what a great great place to come spend the day see some new animal species of plants birds I mean it's a complete package you bring your family and guaranteed enjoyment for the whole day
decent place great experience...the non locals act more civilized than the people who live in the area. aside from that. good although i feel bad for the animals they dont look happy
A whole day of adventure, kids will love to experience the sights, sounds and smells of nature. Great carousel and monorail.
I went there a few times when i wad a kid and i saw some great animals there and the walk wad great because i could study the history of the animals there and everything I loved it there I had a lot of fun when I went there.
Start off early! We arrived shortly after it opened, had a full day of awesome and awe-inspiring experiences. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Zoo is well-maintained and impeccably Clean. The drinks are way overpriced so bring your own ice water. We purchased an all access ticket which allowed us to participate in the added attractions such as the monorail & 4-D experience film. Take note, the parking fee was exorbitant, not sure why. It can turn out to be a very expensive day, especially if you re coming from outside of the borough and need to pay bridge and gas. Wear good walking shoes!
All in all, a nice day with the family. Our favorite places were the flamingos, tigers, and Gorillas.
Great day at the zoo! It was almost eerily empty during winter, with all the food stalls closed except the main cafe. Some of the animals are cramped (e.g. lions, bald eagle) which is a bit depressing, but it's a zoo.
Well maintained and fun experience for all animal lovers
Its a cool place. I love their trails. It seems like you are walking through a real forest with wild animals. Rlly cool. I loved it.
No food and drink places open no animals out to see spent $310 for whole family and was done in 2 1/2 hours
Lots of new stuff to see, a little pricey and the season pass is totally worth it!
This is definitely a place I can visit over and over. Love the new added features especially that huge treehouse. Kids love it. It is best to bring your own food. It is kind of pricey but it's great
Amazing zoo. Beautiful. My kids love the Nature Trek!
Few attractions were closed may be because of winters. Overall it was a good experience. The best part Jungle adventure.
The tree top adventure will cost extra, it is not included in the ticket.
Fun place for families, friends, self time .visit .the only thing over price ,its free on Wednesday just visit the website to see which days are free enjoy
Can't go wrong with the Bronx Zoo! And for the parents - yes, they serve beer!
I've always loved the Bronx Zoo and though this time was different due to Corona virus it was still a fun and pleasant visit.
If it wasn't for the Animals I would give only one star. Customer service is terrible, some of the staff members are really rude. Also, they need to rethink about their operation team for better management; it can take you up to an hour for a shuttle, restrooms smells bad, really bad. Also they need to update their website, they mentioned Bear, surprisingly no bear. The best parts: Monkeys, Asia train. Hope you guys have a good experience.
Big zoo and lots of animals to go around our family enjoyed the full day of fun....
Very nice children's zoo for little ones. We went on a quiet Wednesday for our son's 1st birthday. The rest of the zoo is nice as well - just come early to see as much as you can (it's large).
Best thing to do if you have never been to the Bronx Zoo. And if you have been here. It is super cool and you will see some amazing things. Now this experience is not cheap, and I think it should be a lot cheaper. But it is still one of the best things to do in a very urban city when you want to feel some nature. Couldn't find anyway to lower price. So cant say I come here as much as I wanted to.
I totally love it; it is a really good place to spend the time with your family.
The zoo was a lot of fun. We missed a few exhibits due to closures but definitely enough to see. Will come back again.
It's free on Wednesday! Not all exhibits are open but it's a great day and you can donate as little or as much as you like!
Still a great attraction for everyone and nice way to spend an afternoon after so many years. One complaint is the need for higher transparency in their admission prices. The zoo promotes the higher all inclusive ticket without any mention of the less expensive general admission on their website or ticket window. If they have it, it s well hidden. Unusual for a non profit to be less than transparent with its aggressive marketing. Even when I asked for general the agent gave me a lackluster marketing pitch to pay more. In the zoo, staff were there to do marketing and not so eager to help.
I always enjoy the zoo. I love heading into the Petting Zoo and showing the kids all the unique things animals do. The ending of the Petting Zoo is the best because you are able to pet and feed the animals.
Great place to bring the kids. If you re going multiple times the WCS really makes sense.
Food isn t great so consider bringing lunch. And wet days are awesome as there are very few people
Really a good place to see beautiful an interesting animals. I just wish they offered motorized carts or something. I'm disabled an tough for me to get around only got to see half of zoo.
A great place to go if you have two days so you could see all the zoo and attractions
This was my 1st visit and I loved it. So did the kids. One caution, bring your walking shoes because this place is huge! Patience is a virtue here especially on free Wednesday when the lines can be long. Please don't try to go during a heat wave like I did!
Went to the holiday lights with my family yesterday and we really enjoyed or self's. Marshmallow roasting was a big surprise.
Great place to visit, plan on a full day. Pack your lunch food is expensive and pretty poor, even for park food. Burger was dry, lettuce and tomato we're wilted and sick looking from being under the heat lamps.
Traversing the zoo was complicated, even using the printed map. Signage was very confusing. We ended up at the sea lions 3 or 4 times while trying to find other exhibits.
The exhibits we're spacious enough for the animals, especially the gorillas.
Didn't have a chance to do either of the rides, next time we'll get there earlier.
All in all it was a great day out with family and friends.
Loved it when I was a child and still love it now. It will cost you. $$ get the better ticket it will save some money.
Is so nice ,but you need at less 6 hours to know the whole place
Way too expensive, and the admission price doesn't include everything once in the zoo. Cost over $120 for myself, my husband, and 2 kids ( one kid being only 1 years old at the time )
