Not impressed at all :( I was dying to come here, drove the four hours and the animals were too far under fed, the grass wasn't adequate for the animals. I actually feel bad that we spent $75 to get in and were not able to actually enjoy the zoo. Just sad all around. I guess the best place I have ever been to see animals was Six Flags Great America African Safari in New Jersey.

if you want a good zoo with lots of energetic animals, dont go here. All of the creatures looked like they would rather be dead. And they only have one elephant, all lonely and sad. Not a great expierience

Lorenzo Z Tartaglia- Have been visiting the Bronx Zoo since I was a small child . Well over 30 years ago. And never ever disappointed. The Bronx Zoo is continuously evolving for the better, in the care and health of its animals. As with all human made institutions/facilities, a slip is inevitable. But once discovered it needs to be corrected. The Bronx Zoo has always done a magnificent job in that process towards most all its animals. This is truly a place to visit and support. With the hope that we will become aware of the beauty and most importantly the benefit of all the animals on this planet, our planet. Our most beloved home.

I went with my hubby and two kids yesterday. It was great! We didn't wait long on line for anything. Everything felt festive! but we were all disappointed with the hayride...they should really start to upgrade all decorations and change the story that's being told on the hayride. They should update every year according to what's scary. It was not good at all.

Maybe more famous than amazing. It is pretty big, with a lot of different animals, but I would be careful using the word amazing to describe it. There are amazing animals here, but they could make it so much better. But, it is a very special experience and a special place, and if you are interested in animals, you will enjoy the Bronx zoo.
Kids will have the time of their life, adults will have a pleasant day.
The fee is 25$, including attractions. It is NOT donation based, so you have to pay.

I just left the zoo and its was the worst experience, none of the animals were in their exhibits I drove all the way from New Jersey went with 5 people 2 kids paid and there was no warning that the animals wouldn't be in there exhibits because of the "cold" weather... it was 74 degrees today I was super excited to go and now I'm very disappointed..highway robbery

A great place to take the family and spend the day. Plenty of attractions and exhibits for kids of all ages, including Moms and Dads! We bought the WCS membership and it paid for itself after only 2 visits. Well worth it! There is so much to see and do that it never gets old. Just signed up for another year of membership. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

They've isolated Happy the elephant , elephants are social animals and some advocacy groups tried to get her to a reserve w other elephants and the zoo refused n they also refuse to place elephants w her at the zoo it's very heart breaking

A great activity for the whole family -- lots of animal habitats and interesting attractions. Only thing is, it is not at all cheap -- you can expect to spend upwards of $200 for a family of 4 if you want to visit all the exhibits with the "Total Experience" package. Plus parking is $17!

Going to the zoo during the winter season sucks.

Most of the exhibits were closed due to the chilly weather and the ones that were open the animals looked miserable. I really felt bad. Not sure I'll be back here again. We actually went through all of the open exhibits in less than 2hrs, which was super surprising as we anticipated spending. Whole day there. Entrance fees are expensive too, so if your NYC native definitely get a NYC id pass, otherwise you'll be spending a hefty entrance fee for nothing and will be disappointed.

We loved the experience. However, the butterfly exhibit was the only reason I wanted to go to the zoo. Unfortunately they closed the exhibit an hour before the zoo's actual closing time. I ended up bringing this up and I was brushed off. I left very disappointed and mostly because I paid extra for the full experience.

We had a great time at the Zoo. We got there around 11am on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded. I would've had liked that they provide a color code band or stamp so we don't have to carry and present tickets on some of the attractions...that slows down the flow and created unnecessary lines. If you are visiting then bring your own food and drinks.

It's a wonderful workout to view the distant animal viewing areas BUT the zoo as a whole is WHEELCHAIR INACCESSIBLE. Dirt paths, uneven and inclined access to view animals make the Bronx Zoo a challenge to wheelchair guests. The long separation between exhibits exhausts the companion and likely wheelchair bound guest. While a Paralympic athlete might take this on as a good workout, the casual wheelchair user might be disappointed at how many exhibits they might miss. Inconsistent wheelchair access to bathrooms in landmark buildings and distant alternatives demands the guest retrace their path to wheelchair wide restrooms. Even paths meant to accommodate the disabled are so steep that extra effort and care is required.

One of the best zoos I have ever been too. A little on the pricey side, but for the detailed enclosures and how well the animals are taken care of, it's well worth the price of admission. Be there right when it opens so there's not a lot of people. You'll thank me later!

We had a great time! We enjoyed all the animals, they seemed to be treated well. For such a big place, it was clean. There were rides and jungle treks for the little ones. My son enjoyed all the other kids who were in costume for Boo Zoo! And there were visitors from all walks of life! It was an overall healthy, fun, and educational way to spend the afternoon!

Pretty cool. The price of things was confusing because the signs said we had to pay more to see the gorillas but I guess there are different ticket levels. We didnt go to the gorillas because we thought we would have to pay more but we had the tickets to get in everywhere.

The zoo is alright, but the Central Park Zoo is nicer. The neighborhood sucks. I work on the Boston Road side and 179th street. The area is very dangerous. People getting shot all the time. Police are stationed all over the place.

Have done a great job of labeling footpaths for social distancing and one way access and egress. Masks are required and hand sanitizer stations are plentiful. Lost a star because there are no staff actually enforcing the rules, except at the entrance, and this is frustrating. Also, website specifically states that entry tickets must be purchased ahead of time to avoid crowding but people were still allowed to buy tickets at the gate.

The Bronx Zoo is a must stop for any Zoo enthusiast on vacation in the New York City area. The Zoo is very large compared to what you'd think an inner city Zoo wpuld jave to offer. There are over 100 types of mammals in the Zoo with many different types of birds infects, fish, and reptiles. There are plenty of rest area and even a tram that can move guests throughout the park. The Asia part has a monorail that will take you on a 20 minute narrated ride through huge enclosures.

The day I visited it was wet rainy and a bit cool. Now I get it, some animals are very sensitive to cooler weather and in no way would I want their health endangered. My issue is on the human end. I was on a bus trip so I had already paid and couldn't cancel or I would of lost my money. I paid for the full experience, when I got there everything was closed except. One store and one very over crowded food place. I didn't have a horrid time but I didn't have a wonderful time either. So my advice. If it's rainy STAY HOME. Also don't you think it would be nice to offer a refund or offer to make the ticket good on another day for those that pre-pay?
