Found it a very big disappointment, very few animals, some in small very smelly enclosures. Poor signage, not a lot of staff around and not real friendly.
Been to zoos all over the USA this was one of the most lacking .. considering all the hype. Bought passes on line... but not returning.

Fun time at Boo at the Zoo! The lines were long since it was the weekend, but overall the experience was great. The food is expensive so make sire to bring lots of snacks or extra cash. There is wine and beer available for the adults which is helpful to "enhance" the fun for parents or numb the pain-whatever it is for you. Definitely recommend on going on the skyfari! The hayride is short and cute-just enough "scary" for little ones, but don't expect a thrill ride. The maze is also very short and cute, making it perfect for letting 7-9 year olds run around several times! Will plan to come back in the future!

The Bronx Zoo is a beautiful and large zoo in New York City and I had a great time when I visited it a while back. Sometimes it makes me feel sad to see the animals contained like that, but at least they are well nourrished compared to their natural habitat that is going away. The gorillas were amazing as you can see them quite closely through large windows. And the lemurs are so amazing too. Plus of course so many other species. It is a large place, you can spend hours in it. Kids will love it.

New York is famous for all Bronx Zoo. You need to experience the Bronx Zoo. And you will go back again and again. It's something that you cannot do all in one day. However great idea to go a few times. I personally like to go in April and in the fall. All the animals are outside

My kids love the penguins and puffins exhibit. They feel close to the animals and love watching the puffins in their environment.
Rentals are easy and the concessions are easy to find and great quality (plus beer and other adult beverages for parents! ).
We drive through St. Louis many times a year and always make a point to stop at this zoo.

Loved the variety of animals. Thanks to watching the show every week I was able to be a personal tour guide to my boyfriend. We loved being able to see what we have watched in real life. We went on a Friday and besides the typical School classes it was quiet and easy to get through. Great educational experience.

With kids this is a wonderful place to spend time. Membership is a good option if you are family of four or more. Couple of visits will make the membership money worth. Parking is free with certain membership levels.

I've enjoyed coming here since moving to the Bronx. Parking is available in the zoo but you can find some street parking. My daughter loves the Children's Zoo and I'm looking forward to seeing the Dinosaur Safari later today. The membership seems more like a possibility now as my daughter gets older and it's pretty reasonable for the experience and all that she can see.

My family and I went to the Bronx zoo for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. It's as big as advertised. Lots and lots of animals and they all looked healthy. If you haven't gone there, you have to go.

Amazing experience every time we visit! Fun day out for families with small children. Staff is courteous, signage is pretty good so you won t get lost, paths are well maintained. Covid restrictions in place, book ahead.

Plan to be here for a whole day. Wednesdays are free but you can get the total experience at a reduced cost. There is just soooooo much to do and see. We went there twice and still didn't see or do everything. Really great displays and experience. Got to see the bears fight and have sex. A wild experience.

The bronx zoo has come a long way. Growing up they had one seal. The monkey house and a defected looking baby giraffe lol. Now they have so many new animals, exhibits, and learning activities. There's no way you can enjoy and see the zoo in one day. The new Nature Trek and Zip line is a MUST when you visit. If you never been I reccomend you go. If you're wondering when the free admission day is, its every Wednesday.

A great zoo with space that takes a week to cover. Most of the exhibits are wonderful, the okapi at the gorilla exhibit is a favorite of mine, and some are beautiful and historical, like the Madagascar building, and some of those older exhibits are sad in the way that zoos can be, but overall this is a zoo that you can enjoy, even if you don't like zoos.

This Zoo is great.

This Zoo is great.
The only problem is it's too big to be able to do everything you can do a 1 day TEX ticket. They closed the park before we could do everything we wanted. And we were here at 10.00 with tickets purchased in advance.

Such an amazing experience. As a teacher, we really enjoyed the educational approach that the Bronx Zoo has given us over the years. We take the class once a year and they never let down. Well organized and just enjoyable to us all. Especially the kids.

Best Zoo I've been too and it's in NYC. Huge variety of animals. Well worth spending a day or 2 to enjoy it. Go in the morning otherwise you'll be rushing or won't get to see everything.

For being one of the most famous zoos in the world, I wasn't that impressed. And the most none impressing thing is the ticket price. Take it down a little, not everybody can afford you pricing.

Great Place for Kids. You will need two days to complete everything. Every Wednesday they allow free entry (max 10$ ticket per person). Best one is the Bengal Rail Trail. You will be inside a train and it will roam around all the animals on a 30-40ft high rail track.

It was the best time I had during this pandemic. All Indoor and primate exhibits are closed, so we took the monorail, rode on the carousel, and all other outdoor activities. The trek trail is open. We got there at 945 and they let us in. Once it turned 1pm there were extremely long lines everywhere. My advice: get there as early as possible and do everything as soon as you can.

A gem in the middle of the Bronx. The money they raise from visitors directly benefits animals in the wild and their natural habitats. Such a fun and educational place to visit. The Gorillas in the Congo exhibit are magnificent.

Huge zoo! So many animals, but the amount and people and lack of personal space can be annoying. It just shows you how many people go there and how many people enjoy it. I want to go back here.

My daughter and I can spend all day there. She loves the Nature Trek exhibit and the mono rail (when it's in season). We burn so many calories walking from one side of the park to the other. Plus parking is never an issue and there are plenty of restrooms located throughout the zoo.

Wonderful Zoo! Be sure to get the all in pass so you can ride the tram and see many of the additional fun exhibits. Very shaded so even on a hot day it isn't over welling. Definitely a full day event if not a 2 day event.

We spent almost a full day here. We were actually able to get in at about 9:45 already and we needed all the time until closing at 5pm to actually see everything of the zoo (or at least I think we didn't miss anything). We took the monorail ride (which was fun) twice, once in the morning and a second time before leaving the zoo, mostly because we were already very exhausted and wanted something relaxing to finish our visit. The Bronx Zoo is huge and I like how most of the animal enclosures are actually quite large with lots of nature. There were also many animals I hadn't seen before in my life (not even in other zoos). Definitely worth a visit if you are in New York City and want to get away from the noise and restlessness of downtown Manhattan. Just make sure to take something to eat with you.

Nice fun!! I love animals. I think that after a period of time. The animals need a break and should be released back into the wild. Their natural habitat. The gorilla looks like he tired of the city and needs to retire. Parking $17 bucks.. smh
My "Lions" I hope they don't start an up roar!!!
It can be a little crowded at times. Parking should be free.

Outside seeing animals, it's a great place for long walks. I loved seeing the birds. The reptile enclosure was also fascinating. I was bummed I couldn't see the camels (it started raining).
