Been coming here since a child and never gets old. Free Wednesday but great deals for season pass holders too.

Festive grounds have been transformed with a touch of holiday spirit. Great family experience !
Tree top adventure is great. The climbing and zip lining is fun for people of all ages and fitness levels.
It was a nice day. We went for the free Wednesday and there are up charges to do some of the areas but we spent the entire day there and did not feel like we missed out not doing the upgrades. Also, they don't mention you can purchase a specific activity inside if you choose to do just one or two then that is a better deal. But again we didn't do any of the upgrades and had a great day. It was hot though so hats are highly recommended.
The Bronx Zoo is doing a great job during COVID, we made a 10 am reservation-- please ensure you have reservations-- and it was a breeze getting in! I honestly prefer the Zoo this way and street parking also was much easier. We've been to the Zoo many times and this by far was the best experience because you felt like you had it to yourself. The crowds began to pick up around 1 pm which was great because we were able to complete most of the exhibits by that time.
Too many maskless or wearing mask below nose patrons.
One of our favorite weekend go-to places with our toddler!
I am giving two stars because first of all,the animals all looked depressed, including the camels since they were forced to ride people around. It was really depressing, but the food was good.Second, the staff are rude and a lady who worked there in a restroom separated me from my kids but I was able to get back.Good day.
took my boy today for his birthday, our FIRST OUTING since covid. I was shocked at the amount of people not wearing masks, not social distancing and not respecting peoples personal space in general! We spent over $250 and we didnt see half of the park. We went to part of astor court and waited in line at the monorail for an hour . After asking 2 employees to please enforce rules we left. No bears. Lions, elephants, tigers nothing! I think there should be temperature checks to get in
U have a specific time to check in but can stay all day. I would love a refund, I didnt feel safe and left!
Every tourist should visit bronx zoo best place to enjoy the animal kingdom and every single leaving species have fun guys!!!
I absolutely love the bronx. They strive to have all the animals in as natural habitat as they can. The zoo is well maintained & beautiful. The staff is great & very helpful to answer all questions. I highly recommend that you go. Just a great experience.
Words can't express what an amazing time we had at the bronx zoo (where they film The Zoo on Animal Planet). The zoo is huge at 265 acres. They offer animal encounters and cart tours. The pricing can seem expensive to some but it is a huge park to take care of and all the money goes to conservation. Also They do a free day if money is tight. But beware is a crazy busy day. They are not a zoo with show animals. They help and take animals that can not survive on their own or had other issues. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly with big smiles. Wintertime and bad weather might decrease your chances to see animals. Enjoy this gem, we sure did. Thanks Bronx Zoo we will neber forget it!!
Wonderful experience... Walk with comfy shoes as it is a lot of walking
The zoo is pretty amazing. A reliable experience every time. Lots to see and do so you can keep going back without seeing it all. And totally reasonable membership packages that quickly pay for themselves. Bring additional guests and kids for free, etc.
Awesome place for kids to have fun and learn as well. Don't miss the 4D show when you are there.
Always a great time as long as you avoid the crowds. The staff is friendly and the animals always look happy and healthy!!!
Animals and exhibits were well kept. The zoo was clean and the workers were friendly.
I wish there would be more animals..but for the price it was not that bad.
FUN and natural experience. Animals are happy and healthy
Went with family.. we need to walk..ofcourse food is costly..you can enjoy near birds gorilla
It was so excellent experiences especially the dinosaurs side
With 265 acres housing more than 4,000 animals, this should be near the top of every young family's itinerary in New York. And if you're an older visitor, the Bronx Zoo could be a great way to escape the nonstop activity in Manhattan. The zoo's claim to fame is that it's the largest metropolitan animal park in the country. Individual ticket to the zoo, plus each attraction quickly adds up, especially for a family, but for a little more, the best investment is to join the Conservation Membership and you'll get 1 year access to 4 other zoos plus the aquarium.
An excellent zoo with many interesting exhibits and lots of species of animal. Can easily fill a day, walking around, as there is no shortage of things to see. The park is easily accessible by transit,.
It was a very very nice family get-together please see nice animals it was it was a good trip
It was wonderful haven't been in 22 years since my move to florida it's still beautiful and a wonder
Its a great zoo obviously. But the food is actually good
Best Zoo to Visit on the Eastern Sea Board. Very family oriented, plenty of attractions and FREE Events. Wednesday is the Free Day although they suggest leaving a donation... Great place to visit no matter what time our day of year!
Haven t been here in years and I was glad to come back and notice a lot of beneficial changes. Keep up the good work!
A complete zoo but really hard to find. I recommend to purchase the total Experience pass to get access to all activities, it's worth it
Many attractions here. Staff was generally courteous. Also, have areas designated for stroller parking.
The exhibits were set up nice. Workers greetings are friendly.
2nd best to San Diego Zoo. Become a member, pays for itself in two trips. We love going in the fall n spring, less people, cooler temps.
Visited from out of state. Was charged full price, just to have a third of the animals unavailable. Pretty unfortunate. At least do a discounted price.
Havent been to bronx zoo in 20 years, so much has changed. Alot more attractions many things to see. Had a wonderful time..
Who doesn't love the zoo. The day started out pretty warm and we worried the animals would shelter out of the heat. A lovely breeze and the trees made it a comfortable temp for every one.
Great first date experience. Lots to do and talk about. Boo at the zoo is awesome if you have kids.
Bronx zoo is clean and easy to see exotic animals for families. It's large do bring some food for the journey.
So many great animals; you can spend all day here and not see everything!! My boys had an AMAZING time. Just make sure you bring your own food!!!!!!! Souvenirs, drinks, Camel Ride prints..... so VERY expensive, It's outrageous. Still, an absolutely wonderful place for the family.
Went there on a rainy day but it was amazing. When we are in NYC we are planning to go back. Staff were amazing. Highly recommend doing an animal encounter.
It's a great Zoo with lots to see and do. Just don't go on a Wednesday during the Summer when it's a zoo there. Wednesday is pay what you want day and also sells the total experience ticket at discounted price. I got that and only had time to do 3 things.
My complaint about the place is the map and signage. They're just not very good and help me wasted a lot of time.
A place devoted to saving endangered animals. Great exhibits and polite personnel.
It's a wonderful zoo. The gorillas were an absolute hit with my toddler (and myself). It's quite a bit of walking, but mostly level with some relatively minor slopes. Can't wait to come back and explore more of it.
Not like I remember it. Especially when they have you waiting on a long line for this Dino Adventure, it was expensive and it lasted less than 5 minutes. I waited on that line with my kids for an hour and a half. I suppose it's partly my fault for waiting on line for anything that long. But still for what they charge that should have been more than a few minutes.
I haven't been to the Zoo since I was 8. Now I work for the Zoo and it's just as wonderfully great experience to be with friends and family.
Special place for kids, could spend there 3-4 hours. Better bring food with you.
Great showcase of a wide variety of animals both for children and adults alike.
I love this place.. it's featured on Animal Planet The secrets of the zoo. I was so excited to to be here and see the animals that are on the show. The staff were so nice, and it's very clean.. loved every second of it.
Not much to see in the winter time. If you plan to go during the summer it's awesome and also look out for special events. My best suggestion is to use the monorail first thing in the morning as it gets very crowded towards the afternoon in the summer.
Was ok lot of walking most of the events need to be pay to be able to see!!
The light show was absolutely amazing. My kids had such a good time.
Awesome so many new exibits. I have been here twice and still havent seen entire zoo. The kids love it
Love this zoo. Have been 3 times at 3 different times of year & its been a different experience all three times!! Its very large & LOTS of walking whether the shuttle is running or not. Go early because the lines get VERY long. When it gets busy people tend to lose all manners. Last visit it rained & was the BEST visit yet. Some attractions were not available due to the weather but we made out well anyway. Wonderful place for young & old alike!
Animals are wonderful at this amazing and very neat place...
Haven't been here in years but my recent trip with my nephew was worthwhile and they are practicing social distancing..
I love the zoo! There is so much to do here! Great place for families! Can easily spend at least a day here.
I just don't understand this was a free dag, none of the food stands where open being my first time to New York . I don't see any animals really at all , the landscape is horrible, and the animals I did see look like they are not healthy.
Lots of walking but a good place to take the family
Great experience with very good variety of animals.
One of my favorite places
Awesome for Halloween and great during the early summer
This place is big and beautiful, me and my family enjoyed it very much we are from Toronto and there are some animals here we dont have so that's nice to see. Also the full experience pass is worth the price
Everything is beautiful and well cared for at this zoo. Plenty of things to see, will keep you busy all day
This zoo let's you get pretty close to some cool animals! Most of the animals that were by the glass seemed to be comfortable and even curious about the human guests. I really enjoyed it, especially the Tiger exhibit. Julian was adorable!
Love the zoo and all the animals! The staff is great too!
Good zoo lots of animals to see. Lots of walking to bring a good stroller
i loved this place. i saw so many animals and the workers and gift shop are nice
Awesome place for all ages. Lots of animals were out and were very active. Souvenirs were not outrageous.
If you have not been to the Bronx zoo it's time to get up and go let see you guys their grate place to get away and have some good old fun
It's really fun, even though you have to walk and walk. The animals are exciting to see because we saw the.tigers playing and running all together. The popcorn machine is excellent and ICCE machine is great. You can sip and eat while you watch.the animals. So please do go there. It's free on wendsday so go there. Enjoy
The zoo is probably the biggest place I've ever seen. The facilities are giant like you could see everything. Lastly, the programs shown in 4D are great.
I was fortunate enough to see the staff examining the tiger!
Bad day at the zoo. Bad weather, tons of rain that was steady until we left the park after about 7 hours. Pretty much ALL of the attractions were closed, including most of the restaurants, shops, etc. After waiting 54 years to go there I was EXTREMELY dissapointed:((( We planned out bus trip 3 months in advance and it took us 3 plus hours just to get there...You can't control mother nature but it seems to me that the zoo maybe should have been closed that day and people given rain checks, or at LEAST free poncho's, lol. This was on September 9th, Sunday. I'm not sure if I would even RISK trying to go back there, it was very expensive and time consuming...sad.
