The bronx zoo is great, I love the natural feel of nature, But not after Halloween. It gets colder and most animals Are indoors, monorail is closed and other warm weather exhibits are also closed unless there's a special winter event which happens at xmas time.

The Bronx Zoo is one of the best zoos I have been too. They have plenty of parking and it's easy to find. The zoo grounds are beautiful. They really keep it clean and ready to navigate. They have a large area with plenty of animals to see. The architecture is fantastic as will. I really enjoy visiting the zoo and spending time here with friends and family!
My overall experience was good not a place that you can do in just one visit. Best to get the All Access ticket instead of buying the individual activities the all-access is a better deal and includes parking.
I really like this zoo. It s very well kept. I love that many exhibits including jungle world, Madagascar , world of reptiles ,world of birds, mouse house, Congo , African plains , pheasant aviary ,baboon reserve ,wild Asia monorail, Carter giraffe building, aquatic bird house, and birds of prey all have a lot of rare species. This zoo also keeps its history very well by preserving historical buildings. My only concern is that the white rhinos don t have appropriate indoor space but there outdoor exhibit is very nice . They are also doing a great job with CoViD precautions. It s probably the 4th best zoo in the world!
We want there on Wednesday as a part of team outing as it is free on Wednesdays. The zoo was pretty cool with the tiger being one of the highlight of the trip. That was probably the largest tiger I have seen in my life. Giraffe area was pretty smelly. The cool part was area where all the lagoons hanging out with bisons and other birds in open. The best part was the gorilla area which is not free and the one of the gorilla was mimicking human and other was facing away from the paparazzis
So much to do, so much to see, but not enough time to do & see everything in one day. We'll definitely go back again to see what we missed and revisit places we LOVED! We watched the baby gorillas playing tag and it was PRECIOUS!!
Excellent zoo. Very large so be prepared to walk. Recommend you bring your own food, pick some up around the corner on Arthur Ave. Very kid friendly. A lot to see and will take a full day.
Large zoo with a lot of good attractions and animals. You may have to pay extra for certain attractions but being a member helps immensely if you come here several times a year.
A great place within the concrete jungle to experience the real jungle. From kid kids to adult kids to adult adults, let this place be the spark that make your fantasy into reality.
Nice place, but some animals are hard to find in the big places. I unfortunately didn't get a map and was a bit lost inside. Collect the map once you enter. I liked the smaller zoo in central park better
The Botanic Gardens were closed today so we ended up here. We re so glad we did. It s an excellent zoo which pushes its conservation efforts. We particularly enjoyed the bird enclosures and the Gorillas. Worth buying the slightly more expensive Total Experience ticket to gain free entry to the butterfly exhibit, the mono rail, and the Gorilla park to name just a few.
Not all the animals were out. The tiger exhibit. I disliked the vehicles moving throughtout the park unsafe. There should be a designated route for vehicles to move seperately from people. My child was almost hit by a vehicle from running due to excitement to see the animals. The map is difficult to understand. I walked around the park to every exit looking for the tigers and it was closed smh. The signs are not the best guide. The bridge over the pond look unsafe.
Went for the holiday lights. The lights, lanterns and dancing light tree were great. They do need better signage that points people in the right direction to view things.
Great experience and definitely the best so in NYC. The signs can be a bit confusing, but get yourself a map and you'll get around alright. Definitely check out the sea lion feeding.
Have not been to the Bronx Zoo in ages the Zoo has been kept up to date and the grounds and facilities are very clean and modern. We went on a weekend in Oct got there 15 min before the park opened and parked in Lot C. The staff was very nice and well informed. There where many interactive games
I was a little disappointed. Quite a few of the unique animals were not out. Also very expensive and they don't take reciprocol memberships from other AZA zoos.
Bronx Zoo is one of the most famous zoos ever. A simple and cool attraction that can be visited and several species of animals can be seen. The layout allow you to get close to the animals and almost touch them. Bronx Zoo is an awesome place to visit and spend time. Will return.
Went today july 22, 2018. Food and water as expected is expensive as hell. About 4$ for water. The all experience pass of thirty something dollars is worth it! Some animals were not visible and some exhibits were closed. The monorail moved too fast past the red pandas couldn't get one single picture. And there are FAR too many trees in front of the monorail clouding the view. Too many turtle exhibits.
Apart from all this, everything was GREAT (again, you need the all experience pass) everything was SUPER clean, no stinky areas, animals clean, the trolly has like two stops in all the zoo thats the bad part but covers a lot so thats a good thing. Oh and the butterfly room HAS NO CATERPILLARS. but they have an area that you can see them hatch.
My family and I enjoyed every second of this trip to the Bronx zoo. It is a very family oriented environment and so much fun for the children. Be mindful that you are in a zoo so the smells will vary between the animals but you smell nothing when your near the food courts. I recommend that you guys save the gorillas as your last stop because in my opinion they re the most exciting animals there. I love the canal ride that they have for the children but I feel it s too short of a ride but it s understandable because of how many people are in line waiting to enjoy that moment. All in all it s a great visit with a ton of knowledge about animals and I highly recommend any animal lovers with children who share the same passion to take this trip
Always a really enjoyable day out with my toddler. Been going since he was an infant. It's clean. Has so much to do and learn about. The tram is a must! The rope course is super fun. Get the membership. It pays for itself in 1 visit.
Great place to spend time with the family, get a breath of fresh air, hear a lion roar Ian NYC, talk to any of the engaging zoo keepers they want to share there knowledge. Park in the Southern Blvd lot, close to the children s zoo and the Dancing Crane Cafe, easy to run to the car with the little ones if needed.
On a nice day go early parking and the zoo fills up. Pick a cooler day the animals are more active, the kids will enjoy it more.
If you plan on going more than once a year buy a membership, it pays off, especially the family membership. It also allows you access to the Prospect Park, Queens, and Central Park Zoo, along with the Aquarium next to Coney Island.
Lot of fun things to see and do. Spend almost five hours and still didn't see everything. Be warned that their closing time is set, all extra exhibits close thirty minutes before the zoo closes. The monorail is the best exhibit they have, get to see animals in a different way and relax while doing it.
Had fun, Wednesday free tickets are really nice, duo to covid most of the restaurants do not work inside but there are still places to get food and the best thing it's not crowded now.
Had such a great time!!! Myhubby & I are 60, our daughter & husband are 35 and our Granddaughters are 5 and almost 8, yet we all totally enjpyed! Buy tix online and save 10%. Bring lunch bc 2 hot dogs + fries are $12.99, lol, but rifes are amazing and so are the soecial events. If you get the all inclusive pass, it definitely is the best value and can be scanned rt off your phone! We did at least 5 or 6 events, which made the package very worthwhile!!! All rhe rides felt very safe and slow!! Pictures that they take come out great but are $20 each or $35 with an adorable frame. We stayed from opening till closing, 10am-5pm!! Would definitely go again!! Enjoy every moment!!
I bought the annual membership to the Zoo. If you visit only twice, you would have got your money worth. Plus you get free parking, free monorail, shuttle, gorilla Congo, 4d theater, buggies ride, and much much more. Then you have access to other zoos and Coney island aquarium.
Great zoo, and I've been to many. However, all of the best animals are in areas you have to pay extra for and I find that money hungry. It's a zoo, you should be able to see nearly every animal for the entrance fee, extra costs should only be used to get better views, better information, and other attractions.
First time in New York during winter I went. Second time in New York during summer I went. Both times were incredible, but summer it's just another level. And tickets are somedays free or with a donation but anyways it is great zoo.
Well maintained and clean zoo with plenty to see and do for the whole family. The gorillas were cute, the bears were lovely, the sea lions got a smile on their lips. The day at the zoo was a fun and good day.
Was better than ever now with social distancing. No pushing, no shoving, and the animals are much more social (probably less stressed). There are spaces to eat in peace and quiet and no crowds, although there were a lot of people occupying the zoo today. There are lines for exhibits but they seem to go quick- about 10 minutes or so. Some exhibits are closed but we were told they'd be open by August 24th!!! Enjoy!
It's simple. It's gonna be long, beautiful and few animals. The area itself is good, green. But you can't see half of it. If the kids have been to the zoo before, you shouldn't walk. I mean, literally. Of course, I understand everything, but almost $100 for three) And the money is there. But, man, it's not worth it.
Had a good time despite most of the cafes and shops being closed as it was Thursday very badly signposted inside took us a while to find our right gate to get out but the butterfly house was lovely and relaxing and very tranquil
A must go zoo with it's variety of animals. Just keep in mind there's a ton of walking which isn't bad but just a consideration for anticipating how much time you'll need/want to spend there and how long the kids will last depending on age. Go there with a game plan and you'll likely go home a bit happier.
Clean grounds, healthy active animals.....though you pay a premium for anything you may decide to purchase. If you watch "The Zoo" on the "Animal Planet channel" you may see some of the keepers with their animals. Plenty of activity for the little ones.....and their parents! A great time!
One of the prettiest zoo's I've ever visited. Its clean, well maintained, just beautiful, we had a great day. On the down side...its not cheap,$17.00 to park the car $70.00 to get in, that includes some extras. So bring your credit cards. We spent $30.00 on lunch, chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets 2 drinks.
Great Zoo, the kids have a lot of fun, and the adults too. I took a star off because we had lunch in front of the Baboons and was pretty hard to eat as the wasp and occasional bee were really teasing us.
