Void, bureaucratic and not commercial administration. Plus, you have almost no chance of having them on the phone.
Once past these difficulties not to be overlooked, the place is really well placed, rather majestic and the courses are rather good, varied with nice and competent teachers but whose motivation also depends a little on the group. Extra activities are a plus and can be fun. The value for money is quite correct.

Avoid at all costs. Everything is complicated. The administration is slow, they deleted me from courses for no reason and I have been waiting for their reimbursement for 25 days now despite constant calls. It s frankly a shame

Learning a foreign language can be difficult or even ungrateful. So better to do it in the best conditions. At the British Council, I was able to take classes with quality teachers and great availability. I was pleasantly surprised by the plurality of tools used.
It is also the goodwill of the environment which contributes to making this place rich and attractive: English lectures on British culture as well as convivial times are regularly proposed.

I love how to learn and improve English at British Council.
I took the Business English Course with a very knowledgeable teacher.
In addition, various workshops (on pronunciation, vocabulary enrichment, telephone conversation, ....) and activities (quizzes, conferences, ...) are regularly offered outside of class.
I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the teachers during the various activities / workshops. They are so eager to teach you English!

I put a star because the communication is very bad. I no longer recognize the British Council. It's been a week that I try to reach by phone .... and there 30 minutes of waiting. We don't respond to emails. We respond when we post messages on Facebook !!! My two daughters are at BC. I received confirmation of registration from one but not from the other. I am trying to find out why the check was not cashed and why there is no registration on the portal. Can you respond to at least the registrants. Thanks in advance.

I just finished two semesters in C2 literature class with Roy S
The lessons were alive and the professor was able to renew the activities alternating news, articles, comments and quizzes
Despite the confinement and the end of the classroom lessons he organized Zoom classes which were just as dynamic!
I absolutely recommend this course to the British Council

Establishment practicing disastrous teaching methods or teachers ask students 12 / 13years to type if they say a French word! (Slap you again, again), ask students to bring candy and if they say a word in French, they are deprived of sweets taken by themselves ....
The management seems overwhelmed, no control over its teachers, discovers the practices by dissatisfied parents.
Impossible to join them to cancel a registration made in June and paid (because everything must be settled before),.
I strongly advise against. To date, I am still awaiting a call requested by email and a refund.

Hello

Hello
I got stuck at home because of the strike since where I live in 78 no means of transport possible, I have no car and no one to help me out, lessons were late at night ending at 22h. I sent emails to explain my case for the moment they have not responded, I wait. I got tired of phoning a different answer each time. They just said this week that they are not going to refund or recuperate lessons, so in my case I could only attend 4 lessons and this was taken care of with my CPF. I expect at least that they return my CPF to me, if they will not shift me in another trimester. The arguments that they come out how what they ensured the courses, I do nothing to do, for me where I live I have no public transport and I have nothing there, this is not my fault. I am waiting to recover my CPF which is my right to me for personal training, if you do not even do this this will be a real shame, and I will file a complaint. I'm waiting and I will post a new comment very soon to tell you more

We had the opportunity to visit the Beaubourg Bacon exhibition with a very knowledgeable guide. The British Council gives us the opportunity to go and see some expo that maybe we would not visit spontaneously.
And this in a very friendly atmosphere.

I went to the British Council because I wanted to practice my English with high level teachers in a typically British atmosphere and in a world famous organization. This is exactly what I found at the British Council where I have been able to appreciate, over two semesters, an indisputable competence of extremely positive and encouraging teachers whose Anglo-Saxon teaching methods are very interesting in that they have nothing to do with French methods. The qualities of the person and his deep motivations are, beyond any spirit of competition, perpetually put forward. The originality and the diversity of the courses transform the difficulties in pleasure to learn and to discover.
Nothing is school in the British Council, everything is curiosity.
As for the events organized throughout the year, most of which are open to non-registered people, they are a very pleasant opportunity to listen to speakers who speak perfect English, to meet not only other British Council professors but also other people working there, to learn exciting things about unexpected and very varied topics, to develop contacts by exchanging English, to taste traditional English dishes or to participate in very entertaining games, all impregnated a flawless British humor.
Whether you want to learn English, improve your level or simply practice for pleasure, the British Council will not disappoint you.

Registered before confinement to evening classes to improve my English, the Bristish Council knew how to offer me an alternative solution with video lessons on zoom. I would particularly like to thank Clare G., our teacher who was very pedagogue and who always took the time to correct our homework and answer our questions. The use of client, learning and myclass platforms was a bit confusing for me, the ideal would have been to have everything on the same site but I'm still very happy with my experience with the British Council. So I registered my daughter there for her return to 6th grade.

The reception is very badly organized! This center is not recommended for parents who live outside Paris, because since this year they have forbidden parents to stay there to wait for children at the end of the course. Either you go to a bar next door or you come home and come back later !!!
For the national strike days like today (07/12 - no rer or metro), they show themselves not understanding, they force us to leave ... at the bar to take the coffee of 2 (we are in 7th arrondissements Paris, the price is incredible expensive ...)!
Well, if you want to enroll your children to attend classes here, you must think the way back and forth because the gentleman has the arcueil does not show kindness or understanding towards you!

This British Council only thinks of one thing, money! Already, the teachers are not at all invested and of poor quality, and in addition, during Covid, it's worse! 2 hours of lessons becomes 45 minutes online and you never know when this 45 minutes of lessons will take place! It's a pure English scam.

Deplorable welcome at the 650th week of the internship, it is scandalous to have to deal with people who speak to you as if they were staying there and tell you to manage on the site at that time, do not give such a number is to be sent into the roses, a shame

The General Training test is VERY ACAMED. The customer service is deplorable. do not dream, the British council seeks to sell its methods and derivatives. Because we are not really rated on a level of English, but on the method that you are supposed to have bought somewhere. I hope that competition will open up so that people do not have to take their test from these dishonest people.

Having been to the British Council to refine my English skills, I was pleasantly surprised by their welcome (I must say very warm) and their availability. The classes take place in small groups which allows to ask more questions, to acquire more things. The teacher also made us interact with each other while we listen in order to rectify our mistakes later.
The teacher I had was super nice, available, very competent. All in all, if you have the desire to improve your English the British Council can really help you achieve your goal.

I have been taking classes for several years at the British Council with great pleasure. A new session starting at the end of January 2020 had started very well with a friendly group and a competent and motivating teacher. When the confinement suddenly fell on us, our teacher used all his imagination and overcame the technical difficulties of videoconferencing to ensure that the lessons were always as interesting and lively. As a result, most of the group attended classes until the end regularly.
Despite the definite advantages of online courses and the speed with which this alternative can be successfully implemented, we all hope to resume face-to-face courses as soon as possible.

For my part, the weekly classes are perfect, effective and very pleasant. Ideal staff of a dozen people, enthusiastic and competent teacher, adapted support, varied courses, at a very reasonable price compared to what I could see elsewhere. I finally found the ideal formula to progress orally and enrich my vocabulary. So I logically renewed for an additional semester. I specify that I am a real student and that it is not a comment of complacency!

Avoid for children's lessons. During the year: professor regularly absent, substitute (s) not invested. During covid confinement: instead of the usual 2 hours of weekly lessons, 45 minutes, of which only 30 are effective lessons. Parents are asked to replace the teacher for the rest, using an online course platform. Deconfinement: There are no more courses, neither online nor face-to-face, nobody responds to my emails. And all this for a very high annual price. I advise against.

Hello, I am very disappointed that I paid a high price for a result that is not worth it, in fact, because of the Covid 19, the lessons were suspended, despite the fact that we received "homework" ... Given that English is a living language, it is a great pity that we have not had at least lessons by videoconference despite the fact that we do not take an exam. Which means that I would like to ask you, if a reimbursement (the total which practically corresponds to that of the second installment) would be possible, being the most unusual circumstances. Thank you.

I registered in january for an oral course. I want...

I registered in january for an oral course. I wanted to improve my english and especially the "speaking english". I am very pleased with the course because teachers are very good and give you the opportunity to speak a lot during the 2 hours' course. Topics are various and we can exchange opinions. Even if opinion is divided, it is a way to debate in english, learn vocabulary and idiomatic expressions for example with other studends.
Teachers are very patient and pay attention to everything that is going on. They correct mistakes and try to give us a good pronunciation. The athmosphere during the course is both, serious and friendly. Teachers bring us a lot and are very avalaible to answer our questions and let us know how to improve more the topic we have just studied for example.
Each week, we have to prepare a newspaper's article in order to summarise it in 2 minutes times to our colleagues. It is a great exercise and it makes me more confident in speaking and my mistakes have been corrected.
In addition to the course itself, british council, each month proposes extra events, as a quizz or debates on particular topics. For example i participated in a spring quizz an a special evening before the royal wedding.
It is a way to meet people of other courses and to speak english with teachers and students who are in the same event. It is lively, friendly and very often funny. At these occasions, British Council offers food and drinks. (It is like an after work).
This year BC organised a day in London. I joined the group and it was a very pleasant and busy day.

Very bad reception, I wanted to inquire for English lessons. I passed a level test, he told me in 2 minutes my level of English, I try to communicate with the person who did not speak a French word. Then I went to the fundraising department, who told me that she didn't have a session right now, and that it would only be in September.
I told him you have nothing else to offer me? She said no, I told her I would go to other organizations.

In this exam center, I passed the IELTS test by th...

In this exam center, I passed the IELTS test by the proposed new exam mode. This is to pass the writing test with a computer. This new mode makes it easy to fill response frames and allows those with writing problems (speed / readability) to achieve results that match their capabilities.
However, there could be changes that can improve the experiences of candidates who pass the exam.

1. Because of the prohibition of watches in the halls of oral examinations, it would be better to have a clock (or a watch stuck on the table) that indicates the time, so that people who pass their exams can better manage their time.

2. When passing the written exam, it is possible to put his personal belongings in the lockers. Would it be possible to do this for the oral exam?

A little temporal thing for this summer: because of the heat wave, people who pass the exam do not dress very much. But in the room where the candidates pass the written exam, to ensure the computers work and so that the heat does not affect the candidates, the room temperature is about 25-26 degrees Celsius. It would then be necessary to think carefully about what to wear on the day of the exam ......

Overall, the review was well prepared on both sides, reviewers and candidates.

I have been taking English lessons for two years at the British Council. I did two years of B2. (intermediate and advanced). So far I have enjoyed good teaching. During the confinement, I was able to take advantage of the distance courses, on ZOOM. And I am delighted. Because the teachers were able to exploit all the options offered by this platform for quality education: blackboard and writing, video, documents and exercises online ... The work was very satisfactory.

The course at the British Council with Simon Hardy was very interesting, rich, subtle, and a great help to me. I really liked the different methodologies proposed for teaching. I am sensitive to the fact that we present varied and rich approaches, there is always one that corresponds to our desires, tastes and aspirations.
I have also been able to enjoy some of Stephen's courses, which have incredible energy, and push us as it should.
I like the British Council for its offers, and I really appreciated the many events, which allow us to change our ideas in a relevant way, as much by the proposed topics (literature, music, ....), as by the people we meet, which encourages us to dialogue with teachers or students, and consecutively help improve our oral, all in a very friendly atmosphere.

I took the IELTS exam. The written tests were fine. However, I was a bit unsatisfied with the spoken interview exam. The interviewer was really cold, made strange expressions with her face everytime I opened my mouth, which made me lose focus a little bit. And at some points she would interrupt me for not understanding something I said, and it was just because she wouldn't let me finish the sentence to explain it to her ... But oh well, i think i was unlucky for having her on my exam...

Far too expensive for what it is. I paid 630 for a quarter with 2 hours / week. I did not learn much and I did not progress because we interact with students as bad as us in class, we do a lot of work alone, disjointed classes with no logical follow-up, useless themes ... And we does not do grammar. When you miss a lesson it's forbidden to catch up, annoying at the cost of the hour. I was sick for several weeks, I had a medical certificate and they did not accept that I catch up. I add that the reception is deplorable, they are obnoxious, they do not answer the phone for 6 months, they answer emails with 1 month delay, and facing them, contemptuous and not traders at all. When we see the% of fill of the courses and the negative opinions, we tell ourselves that they would do well to come back down and change everything. My parents will not re-enroll my 3 sisters or myself.
