Came here to see Shawn & Marlon Wayans and they were absolutely hilarious! I arrived with a friend & we were treated nice by the staff. It's a small venue so I imagine that anywhere you sit, you'll have a great view of the performers on stage. Yes there is a 2 drink minimum & yes drinks are expensive but what venue isn't like that? I picked the cheapest drink available & there are plenty of places around Carolines to get something to eat. They manage to get well known comedians & at $32 for my ticket, I'm definitely interested in coming back.

This is a staple of top line comedy shows and the acts here always good including the support.

Aside from the talent, the venue is less appealing. DO NOT order any food here, it's nasty pre-prepared greasy bar food and it's far too expensive. The drinks are also steep but at least they are reliable for quality.

Because this places has great comedy acts it draws a large crowd and the venue struggles to manage that crowd before they go into the main theatre. Be prepared for pushing and shoving and people lying to get better seats.

I just paid $180 to this comedy club to be treated like a criminal because I didn't keep a receipt. The manager was extremely rude because I had no idea I had to keep the receipt to prove I paid for these overpriced drinks. This place is a joke!

The comedian I saw there was EXCELLENT! But the service was terrible. I ordered a piece of strawberry shortcake before the show started. I finally got my cake as the show was ending, AND it was AWFUL and half frozen.
The only reason I gave this place a star is because the comedy was good.

I wish I could rate my experience half a star or no stars at all. The entire night had been a disaster of misinformation and trying to suck every dime out of us. We paid for gold tickets to sit close for the show and told to eat dinner early to reserve seats in the hall. Not only did the girl at the counter have trouble finding my name and getting my tickets, she could've even find out reservation and we had us sit at the bar for 20+ minutes while she figured it out. After sitting at the bar and paid for drinks, we finally got a table. The wait staff could care less about serving us and we had to constantly try to get them to the table for drinks and food. The only time we were directly talked to was the staff ushering and forcing to check our coats telling us we need to in order to get in smoothly.

When we got our food, both our orders were incorrect including toppings we order but we were assured that we would get a seat inside reserved. After dinner, we tried to get the check and couldn't get it for 20 minutes and the waiter disappeared with our credit card. While we attempted to get the check back, they were seating for the rows and stated they aren't sure if we would have a reserved seating for eating dinner anymore which made us wait in line anyway in the back. After we got inside with no secured seating, we saw that people kept their jackets and bags inside.

It felt like we were punished for following orders while they could care less about having us. Don't recommend to anyone.

Depending upon who is performing, the show could be very funny. There is a 2 drink minimum. There are coupons for discounted admission. One show we saw was soooo funny, we could not stop laughing.

I went to Caroline's with a friend on Monday night, but we did not see a show.

After giving our reservation information, we were told about the two drink minimum and where we can check our bags.

(By the way, the minimum is not a two item minimum. This means that even though we don't drink and were going to order food because the show was from 7 until 9:30 - which seems long and definitely is long enough to require getting dinner, the food would not have counted and we would still have to purchase two overpriced sodas.)

Upon stating that we did not want to check our bags, the woman working the check bag area came out and started berating us about how we have to check bags (we each had two small bags, a purse and a gym bag). When we said, "sorry, but we'd rather not," one of the men at the host stand starting piling on, saying, "you have to check bags shopping, at clubs, everywhere you go! How long have you lived here?"

(By the way, neither of us had ever been asked to check a bag while shopping or at clubs in NYC and we've lived here for almost ten years.)

The staff was so rude, didn't provide any explanation about if this was a security measure or just another money suck, so pushy and obnoxious that when one of them flatly asked, "what are you going to not see the show because you don't want to check a bag?" We said, yes and left.

The situation itself was a bit funny, but, unfortunately, we have no idea if the comedians were funny because we weren't treated nicely enough to want to go in.

If you like a rude attitude upon arrival, this is the place for you!

Great place where the "stand up" follow one another in the space of 1 hour and a half. awesome !! Super well organize, it's better to book but you can show up as they manage to find room. entry at 35 / pers + 2 drinks compulsory, a 2 we got away for 110 , which is reasonable for Broadway. Jay Pharaoh was great :)

The comedy was great. What wasn't so great was walking in and being told there is a mandatory coat check and then finding out there's a $1 or $2 (varies for reasons unclear to me) charge for each item checked. When going into the show after already being suckered into checking my coat my friends and I noticed that half the crowd still had their coats. Then during the show my table ordered a couple appetizers (artichoke dip and nachos). For starters, no utensils. The nachos were okay but slightly on the cold side. The artichoke dip was so liquidy (not from being too hot, because it wasn't) that the four of us barely got any dip before we finished the six pita toasts that came with it trying to get to the dip. We agreed to let the dip sit for a few minutes hoping to let it solidify more and then eat it with the remaining chips from the nachos, but as we were paying attention to the show the wait came by and hurriedly took the plates on our table that still had food on them. This venue is in the business of robbing people.

Great show, had large table and everyone enjoyed it. Place is clean and sound in room is great. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars is the old fashion 2 drink minimum, a dated practice that makes things awkward at best, just charge a bit more and let us drink what we want.

This place is a dumpster fire, a complete shitshow. First, they dont tell you until after paying almost $100 for two tickets about the two drink minimum, but then you get there and two of the three decent beers on their menu are no mas. Would never set foot in this place again. Kevin Nealon can be the funniest peron on earth and it will not redeem this place.

This place is a rip off. I got a promo code for $5 tickets which ended up costing $19 each, then I ordered 2 margs in the lobby which didn't count towards my two drink minimum. My date and I both got salads during the show ended up costing a total of $183. The service wasn't good and the entertainment was just ok.

This was my Wife s and my first visit back to NYC ...

This was my Wife s and my first visit back to NYC in 27 years. We bought tix to Kevin Nealon s standup routine at Caroline s on Broadway the night before the show. I have to say after reading all of the reviews that evening I really wanted to cancel. Well let me say don t always rely on reviews. We purchased (2) Orange Harlequin Tix which gives you a better seat and a souvenir mug or pint glass. We arrived about 50 min. early and when we arrived at the will call desk we received our tix with a #1 on the seating assignment. About 15 min before the show started we were let in and escorted to our seats center stage and 12 feet away. Seats were great and the place was fairly crowded but we had plenty of room and we were not made to give away our coats as many people complain about.

We ordered a club sandwich and fries to split $15 and 3 beers at $7.50 each. Apparently the food counted towards our 2- drink min each. With tip we spent an extra $51 which for NY doesn t seem unreasonable. Kendal at the Will Call desk was pleasant and professional. Cade was I guess a manager of some sort and very kind and professional. We had a great time and will return for future acts.

I went and saw Ron Bennington host a show with Dan Pearlman. It was an awesome time. Very nice venue. I wasn't a fan of the mandatory coat and bag check, but who cares right? It's also important to note that there is a two-drink minimum and food does not count towards the drinks wasn't a problem for me. But it really seem to stump the people next to me. I'm pretty sure they thought they had to order their two drinks at the same time. The poor waitress had to wait around while a bunch of indecisive people decided which juices would be most pleasing to their pallet, no big deal it's not like there's a hundred people waiting to have their order taken.

You have to be kidding me with the quality of comedians. We saw the "up and coming comedians" and they were mostly horroble except the Brittish comedian. There was one female comediane who explained how she enjoyed picking at her scabs and picking her nose....not ony was it not funny, it was disgusting, revolting and we just got up and left early. I am a surgeon and I don't get grossed out too easy but this was a disgrace. There were peope from other countries there to see American comedy and truthfully I was embarrased to be an American. To take money for this kind of "entertainment" is actually criminal.

Still my favorite spot for comedy

Still my favorite spot for comedy
I've been seeing shows since college here. Chris Rock, Michael Winslow, Jay Mohr, Dave Attell and so many amazing others! Don't just show up for the headliners - the new comedians are fantastic and will leave you in stitches as well.

The drinks are delish and I have made my home bar full of their signature glasses and shot glasses, ha! The food is good but you don't need to eat there to enjoy the laughs.

My husband and I went to see the Carlos Comic show that was the best ... But the service of this place is not very good, the waiters do not have the delicacy to put even a napkin with your drink and it is obligatory to buy two drinks apart from the tickets for the show, it would be good to take into consideration the consumption of food, there are people who do not drink.
