Does fantastic work snd a great day out for everyone
Great place and the most hands on Zoo we have visited. To get that close to the Lemars (By your feet) and other animals (Seals, penquins) was worth the admission price alone. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable and there was More
Fabulous day out for adults and children alike. Take in the animal encounters shows on the hour to see spiders, snakes and other bugs!
Great family day out, friendly staff, ample picnic areas. Well worth a visit for the gorillas alone. Only down side was restaurant is expensive and car park limited.
We had a great family day out at Bristol Zoo last month, the staff were really knowledgeable approachable and it made for it overall really good atmosphere. we've been a few years before and nothing seems tired anymore dated it's been kept tidying updated for the most. I can see some of the lowest star ratings for this zoo and they're all based around a personal opinion about the concept of Zoo's rather than the facilities themselves. we would definitely go there again and it was also nice to see a lot of young people that were on some sort of programme or apprenticeship of the zoo been guided around by permanent members of staff. if you don't like the Jews don't go to zoos if you like zoos go to Bristol Zoo.
Amazing for the 1 year old and so much to see and do!
what a lovely zoo, went for my sons 4th birthday had an amazing time, would go back!
Nice little place to take kids but disappointed that the main zoo animals where not there. No zebra no giraffes and no elephants. Food was over priced too
Went to bristol zoo and i got to say i didnt really enjoy it all the animals was indoors not allowed out there living spaces looked small and not kept very well they looked missrable i felt sorry for the gorillas they looked sad not happy at all i wont be going again just big dissapoitment. I been to many zoos the flamigos dont have netting around them look free and happy but wasent the case at bristol zoo just not happy with it cafe was over priced not much choice either just didnt seem a happy fun place to be like most zoos ppl are running around happy and lots of wows look but nope bristol zoo didnt have that reaction either!!
Fantastic day out made even better with the freechild code .
Great day out, good cause and great information from the talks.
Wonderful family fun for everyone. Never so busy you can't find a quiet corner. Plenty of space for picnics and pack swimwear/a towel for younger kids to play in splash area.
Great seeing all the animals, they all look well cared for and happy. The gardens are beautiful and the kids loved the animal performances. There's also free parking!
i luv this plac is has this thing call zooropia and i allwas goo on it with my freends. i would recomendd this plac to anyhoo so go alon . I GO LODS EVEN THO I LIUVE milES AAY IN FRNNCC
It's clear that a great deal of thought and care has been put into this zoo. The animal enclosures are all really varied and the accessibility is great with loads of benches to rest on and plants and statues to look at between animals.
Great zoo; love the Gorillas and spider monkeys they are so much fun. It is always better to go on a sunny day. If you live s in Bristol and have kids definitely worth being an annual member.
We got married here! Amazing staff, beautiful location
Great day out - fun for the family and couples alike. Food is quite expensive though. Good price to get in and great initiative to get a third off when arriving by a form of sustainable transport.
Excellent day out - great conservation work going on, nice staff, relaxed environment. It's a must see attraction.
Very well arranged and pleasant for a rewarding visit
Bristol Zoo is a very beautiful park which is small but contains an array of impressive animals like lions and gorilla's to a butterfly walk-in enclosure.
The zoo is very tidy constantly and is looked after very well. Accompanying the zoo are staff that always seem busy looking after the animals which is admiring, they're really easy to approach and have a chat with about the animals!
Really kid friendly, easy to walk around, lots to see. No real "big" animals apart from the lions and gorillas, but still makes a lovely day out. Take a picnic, restaurant food is mediocre at best and service takes a long time.
Really pleasant family place to visit, loads of different animals with the gorillas the highlight!
Great day out, especially if you have little ones, lots of fun
Could have better selection of animals. If you want to know where the big animals are try Noah's Ark. Overall lovely staff and the park itself is neat and tidy.
Good small zoo, kids really enjoyed it. Parts starting to look tired.
Nice zoo. Not huge but they are upgrading their enclosures and they are some lovely walkthrough ones where you can get up close to the animals. Twilight evenings are great fun with a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Ok, But very expensive to get in. Wouldn't go again at those prices.
Fantastic day out ... not the biggest zoo in the world which makes it the easiest to get around ... loads to see and not miles to walk ... very well designed and organised ... the staff are do friendly and helpful ... very fare prices to enter and even when you're inside ... definitely going to plan a return
Restaurant manager was fantastic. Very helpfull we arrived as a group of 22 and were all seated together. Fantastic fish and chips.
It's a small zoo and limited parking, most people will have to park on one of the surrounding streets (as I did) and you can only a maximum of 5 hours parking during the week, but the gorilla enclosure is is brilliant because they can climb over the viewing area.
Amazing had such a good time feeding the lions today Becky for talking to us about the lions
Ok, so let me say first of all, zoos are not my favourite choice as a day out. However, Bristol Zoo is well presented and there is much to see and do on a family outing.
If you love to see exotic animals and discover much about their lifestyles, watch a David Attenborough documentary instead!
If you are in Bristol and are at a loose end for the afternoon, spend a few hours peering into seemingly empty enclosures playing spot the animal. (It's usually hiding far away from human gaze) enjoy the excitement of seeing an animal first and pointing it out to your family, then hurry on as you realise that what you thought was an animal was in fact, a pile of poo, fluff and some leaves, and that you'd been gawping at it for the last 10 minutes.
Parking is plentyfull nearby, follow signs for car parking or park on street using pay and display machine located nearby. * Note * check information locally as street parking is free on weekends and bank holidays on some streets.
My little one enjoyed the visit. The animals are in very good condition and the park is clean ...the best of all is that they have great viewing points. It was fun and educational.
Great that the zoo is open again to see the unique animals. The reptile house, bug house, twilight zone and butterfly house are all still closed at present because of social distancing issues and because of the humid temperatures that they have to be kept at. The disappointing thing is that their indoor cafe is completely shut which I could not quite understand as all other indoor cafes, restaurants and bars are open in the city so as it was a rainy day there was no where to eat food under cover - something to bear in mind.
Such a great day. From the moment you enter every step is filled with something wonderful to see. The great thing is you don't need to walk vast distances between displays, it's very compact, well presented and highly engaging.
Thoroughly recommended and easy to book online, time it well and you can park at the entrance, food on site was quick and tasty. Staff were brilliant.
Was raining but plenty of indoor bits to keep the kids busy and adults dry ;) really nice day out :)
Decent zoo considering it's in the middle of a city.
Amazing place love come back every time something new
Lovely morning visit to the zoo had a free visit with being Chester zoo members beautiful gardens enjoyed lour time there.
Small but an excellent collection of animals to see. Great to see very helpful and friendly staff.
Wonderful family experience, only a little criticism more food outlets required.
Fantastic enclosures for the animals and brilliant views, well worth the money!
Lovely zoo. I've been going since I was little and still find it exciting.
Some really good exhibits but feel better use could be made of the space. Some animals had nowhere near enough room.
The staff are amazing and polite, they are super friendly and provide plenty of information on the different animals.
It is a beautiful zoo, very helpful staff, keepers and rangers, the food prices are expensive, there are vending machines for Pringle crisps, Joe's ice cream and cans/bottles. There is also a BBQ. The gift shop is beautiful but again very More
We popped by for my birthday not a planed day out. it s was a lovely afternoon and really nice, we went in the week so wasn t to busy but there where school trips taking place. We just walked the opposite way and enjoyed it at our own pace. Load of places to sit and chill with a picnic but the food on offer there was over priced and not grate, we just found a pub once we finished. Wheel chair friendly and lots of benches to sit down and rest if you need to, it took us about 3 hours to stole round and enjoy everything. the entry price was fair and parking was easy just a to minute walk to the entrance, parking you could pay contactless, card or cash no problems. If your older I would go mid week in school time to avoid a mad rush as some parts are small, but if you have kids then any time would be nice in the summer to make a day of it. Lots of kids things to do and keep them entertained same for big kids like me.
Great event venue, interesting wooden croc sculpture - mind out!
Good day out in the city centre. Can be a bit pricey for the whole family, so worthwhile checking for vouchers.
Small zoo but with enough species to stay for about 4 hours, there are demonstrations and entertainment for children. It has a parking area and is integrated into the city.
Absolutely incredible visit from the first enclosure to the last. Everyone should visit at least once in their life.
First time at the Zoo since I was a youngster. Lots has changed and they have a good selection of creatures watch and learn about. The gorilla enclosure is really impressive!
Small but delightful place to spend a couple of hours. Free flight areas best for me, loved the terns. Very pleasant cafe serving real coffee.
Great fun even on a rainy day. New cafe was busy, but service and food was good.
The best experience for little ones so much to do and see. You can spend the whole day with them learning about wildlife and have a picnic with them or visit the restaurant.
I've been a regular for over 50 years and I never stop loving it.
Brilliant zoo - we spent 4 hours there and it was our second visit.
All of the animals are very well looked after, they have some very rare specimen's, and the layout of the zoo means it's easy to walk round and not miss anything.
We would go back for a third visit.!
A fab place for a whole day out! Kids had so much fun, they were exhausted by the time we had to go.
So many animals to see, insects, butterflies etc. The little ones enjoyed playing outside with the water on a hot day. Good size car park too. We definitely enjoyed it here,we'll be back again.
P.S. It is great to see that the owners read the reviews and care what others say.
I could tell that a lot of effort was made to make the enclosures stimulating and enjoyable for the animals. Will definitely go again once COVID is no longer a problem
A really fun day out and lots of amazing animals to see
