Brilliant place for a day out with a brilliant host of animals. Talks and feedings of animals run throughout the day which is also nice.

Had a wonderful family day out even if most of the indoor area's were sadly closed. The price for food and drinks did seem a bit high but when you consider they have to pay for the animals upkeep as well as staffing costs it doesn't seem to bad.

This is a wonderful zoo with lots of conservation messages. I only gave it four stars because it's not very large, can see everything in a few hours. Some of the ice cream machines weren't working properly and there was only one place to get food.

About Bristol Zoo
Bristol Zoological Society is a well-known conservation and education charity that operates two popular attractions in the UK - Bristol Zoo Gardens and the Wild Place Project. The society was founded in 1835, making it one of the oldest zoos in the world. Since then, it has been dedicated to promoting wildlife conservation and educating people about animals and their habitats.
Bristol Zoo Gardens is located in Clifton, Bristol, and covers an area of 12 acres. It is home to over 400 species of animals from around the world, including gorillas, lions, penguins, red pandas, meerkats, reptiles and many more. The zoo also has a range of exhibits that showcase different ecosystems such as Butterfly Forest and Seal & Penguin Coasts.
The Wild Place Project is a newer attraction that opened its doors in 2013. It covers an area of 136 acres near Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts of Bristol. The project aims to provide visitors with an immersive experience where they can learn about endangered species from around the world while exploring different habitats such as Madagascar and South America.
One thing that sets Bristol Zoological Society apart from other zoos is its commitment to conservation efforts both locally and globally. The society works closely with other organizations to protect endangered species through breeding programs, research projects and habitat restoration initiatives.
In addition to its conservation efforts, Bristol Zoological Society also places great emphasis on education. Both Bristol Zoo Gardens and the Wild Place Project offer educational programs for schools as well as fun activities for families such as animal encounters or behind-the-scenes tours.
Visitors can also support Bristol Zoological Society's work by becoming members or making donations towards specific projects such as building new enclosures or funding research programs.
Overall, if you're looking for a fun day out while supporting a good cause at the same time - look no further than Bristol Zoo! With its wide range of animals from all over the world plus exciting exhibits like Butterfly Forest or Seal & Penguin Coasts there's something for everyone here!
