Nice day out for the kids but no where near as good as it used to be
One of the best zoos in the country which provides surprisingly large spaces for animals in a very small area. The nocturnal zone is fascinating, the gorillas are incredible to watch, as are the penguins and sea lions, the lemurs are sweet and the meerkats are adorable!
Extra activities are scheduled throughout the day and there is a play area with high ropes course for the children.
It's very neat and with good gardens, some of the enclosures are nice but it is a very small zoo and a lot of the cages and pens look way too small, I felt sorry for the sand cats and some of the birds in particular.
I loved Bristol zoo, brilliant for all ages. I went on the bus (which drops you off outside the zoo) and i visited at the beginning of March and the weather was lovely
They had lots of different animals to see and the layout was perfect. The bat cave was amazing and my favourite animal had to be the seals! They were fantastic and you could walk underneath and view them swimming around. Other animals include flamingos, penguins, insects, wild cats and beautiful birds.
Plenty of cafe's to stop off at along the way and the gift shop at the end was superb!
A must see!
I love lizards and snakes, they were definitely the best part
Bristol Zoo garden - a wonderful day.
Aquarium great, magic penguins and fantastic sea lions.
The whole Zoo is perfectly labeled, clean and especially fun for children. We recommend visiting all who reach the west of England.
definitly they need to bring much more animals ! they dont have many many animals , i been in this Zoo for 3 times and i decided that this one is the last one, bring more animals muuuch more you almost have nothing ther , empty Zoo comparing to the ones i been where u can see the real life of animals . Bristol Zoo you can do it too why not, all the best
For a small space there is so much packed in. Ideal for young families as there are plenty of activities and not too much distance to walk.
Kids loved it. The food was a bit expensive. At least it was going to a good cause.
Lovely day. Plenty to see. Get there early for parking.
Went with a five year old, and we loved it. Probably my fifth or sixth visit, never gets tired. Lots of fun stuff to see and do, and the kids just love it.
A great day out, there was more there than we thought so was a full day out if you take things at a leisurely pace. Parking is opposite the zoo and seemed to get full quickly so maybe an early start is recommended if you wish to park as close as possible. Very clean and well looked after surroundings.
Bit disappointed really, but lots of animals and the kids seemed to love it! Keep clear of the hungry monkey food hut, the staff in there had way to much attitude when asked if they had any dairy free rolls! It was like we were asking them for free food. Not very accommodating really.
A great family day out in Bristol for both Adults and children with lots to see and do and lots of parking available
Bristol Zoo is a well-established zoo, perfect for the whole family! The Hide restaurant is lovely (although I reccomend packing a picnic and just getting coffee here as it's expensive). The forest of birds is a must-see! there's no better way to support conservation that visiting Bristol zoo
Nice little zoo with plenty to occupy the children. Not much parking and what they have fills up very quickly. Off street available and not overly expensive.
Such a lovely place. The zookeeper are lovely and you can see the passion and love they have for their animals. X
Lovely small zoo. Spent about 4 hours here. They have great open enclosures which are great for viewing the animals. Good food in the main resteraunt as well.
Visited here with the better half on a damp Tuesday after booking the tickets online.
***THERE IS A CAR PARK CHARGE***
After parking we went through the entrance and quoted the booking reference to get straight in without a hassle.
The zoo is very good size for the entry price with many different animals that are uncommon in most zoos I've been to.
Overall a very good day out and well worth it.
Good day out but expensive, would love to go more often but ticket prices are prohibitive. Even with covid precautions in place we were able to access most areas.
brilliant family day out, can be pricey so look out for offers
We really thought you had worked on upgrades of animal housing. Overall, very tired and unkempt, lions still in tiny cages. Very disappointed
Really enjoyed my visit here. Zoo is a little small and not got all animals i.e. giraffes.. but they have an amazing Gorillas section!!
Lots of talks too
Went on a quiet, school day so wasn't too busy and the prices were reasonable.
Plenty of animals although not as many as other zoos.
Not many food options IMO, just a sit down restaurant (which did have tablets service, to be fair) and many random vending machines throw about the place. This may be because it was March.
Overall it was worth a visit if you're in the area and you've never been before.
A fantastic place to take the little ones, plenty of room without being overwhelming, you can easily tick off the animals as you make your way around the zoo. The facilities are great too with a spacious eatery that sits hundreds and various coffee and ice cream stop offs as you go.
A wonderful zoo. It took us about 3 hours to go around, including going back to see animals that were asleep when we first tried to see them. There are so many enclosures that you can go into to get close to the animals and the staff are very kind. The butterfly man stood out to me so definitely go visit him. My favourite part was the Twilight Zone. It's surprisingly easy, if you're patient, to see all the animals even though it's dark. It was a brilliant afternoon. See if you can make it to the animal talks because they are great fun.
It was a super lovely day out and the restaurants were fantastic. As a coeliac and vegetarian it's difficult to find places to eat out that does a good range of gluten free food that tastes good and at a reasonable price but the hide restaurants ticked both boxes. The pizza I had tasted amazing. The staff are all lovely and happy to help with any query and the animals are super cute and lively and looked after well.
Very very very expensive. Boring and ugly zoo. Instead of plastic screaming dinosaurs they should get more real animals as there is hardly any. Will never go again.
Lovely day out, not too expensive. Good variety of smaller animals, food was good. We had a burger from the outdoor grill/bbq. They only have a small car park but at a weekend parking in the surrounding streets is free.
Nice, clean and tidy .parking maybe an issue on bank holidays and peak times of the year but big car park at the front of the zoo usually OK. Well worth a visit good conservation projects.
Great day out for the whole family, plenty to see and do would recommend and definately visit again
Visited Bristol Zoo with Grandchildren they loved it we took a picnic with us plenty of places to stop and sit down to eat. Lots of Keepers around for Grandchildren to ask questions, lots of information on where and when animals feeding times great day out. Plus we walked around corner and seen Gromit Bristol Hound and when crossing Suspension Bridge seen Light as a Feather brilliant
Absolutely amazing place, easy to find and lots to do for everyone of any age, will definatly be visiting again
We had a fantastic time, but very pricey, they want extra for there conservation protects included on top of the ticket price. High rope, extra, feeding parrots extra, fish food extra.... very limited food available for glutine free and lactose intolerant people.
Really pretty location for the zoo in Clifton. The premises are rather small so some animal enclosures are somewhat limited, however all the animals look well looked after.
Every one loves a zoo and this one is great, lots of informative chats and feeding every 30mins or so.
Amazing place to see. Lots of animals to see and admire.
Very nicely socially distanced with hand gel before and after every door. Few enclosures not accessible, but you didn't really notice overall. Great day out!
Quite a small zoo, enjoyable for younger children. Parking was terrible
The flamingos are pink now! Shame there are no elephants or giraffes though.
No Tigers or Elephants, but I'm happy with the overall experience I've had here, as it is meant to be a small zoo. There were a range of reptiles and aquatic animals, with some tropical animals managing in the cold UK climate as well. If you are in the Bristol area and have kids, this place is definitely worth a visit.
I've added some pics I took of the reptiles here:
Lovely little zoo. Loads of animals and plants to see.
Had a fab day the children loved it cant wait to go back
It was lovely, but for extra activities I.e. Facepainting, gift shop, drawing, etc very very expensive
Fantastic day out, loads to see, thoroughly enjoyed by all
Zoo education lecture on dung beetles by a UK expert
Took grandchildren. They loved seeing all the animals especially penguins and seals
The visitor numbers are limited which means there's more room to view the animals although unfortunately a lot of indoor areas are closed. This should really be reflected in the price of the entry. We were surprised that we also had to pay for parking. We were hoping to have access to electric charging for our car but there didn't seem to be any available.
Fantastic part of the zoo, with some great animals! Very clean and pretty with a lovely atmosphere!
Not my favourite zoo. Very cramped, small enclosures and not many animals. Not really a whole day out.
Red panda was loving his bamboo, noshing away. Top lad
