The house itself is beautifully done with awesome animatronics, and alot of rooms. but a lot of the rooms didn't have actors, felt severely understaffed and lazy, many missed opportunities. maybe its cause I went on a Sunday (but the sunday before halloween)... Lines were long (as expected), i felt i spent more time outside than inside. But not a big deal. I understand its halloween season. Ive worked and attended other haunts so i know how it goes.
One of the actresses inside went too far, grabbed me by my hair shoved me around violently not letting go. Not cool. I took a glow necklace which means i allow myself to get touched, but being violently shoved around by my hair is not okay. My scalp was hurting for the next 2 days.
I complained about her the next day (because they werent accepting phone calls so i texted), giving as much details as i could remember as it was very dark and there were alot of rooms. They seemed very concerned and reassured me that its not their normal routine. They also made assumptions that I was lying. But i guess now they claim "she doesnt know what shes talking about", saying its my fault... it only shows me they couldn't care less. I wasn't looking to press charges, but only to state my experience. If it happens to a child or someones wife, they should be informed.
I saw they had a system, but it wasnt working. The staff seemed more annoyed to be there. Maybe it was an Off day for them. I spent the extra money and bought 3 attractions, and didn't feel it was worth it. Probably wont be going back, there are better haunted houses.
And now that i read that the owners flag and delete comments, i dont know if i respect them anymore for that.

Always a long wait in line, but they make it fun for you and you can get food and hot chocolate while you wait. The haunted house itself is the best I've ever gone to. The attention to detail in the costumes and rooms is absolutely amazing. You'll find yourself stopping to look. It's truly a subversive experience and so much fun!

I went about a month ago and had a lot of fun! I chose to have my contact glow stick on and the experience was amazing. Would totally recommend! I will be definitely going back for "Santa's Slay" this December!

UPDATE: I went to Santa s Slay and I was a bit disappointed. They didn t do the best job of separating out the groups. My group got to see everything ahead of us. We still had a lot of fun, but it wasn t worth the $100+ spent. I m still going to give the next attraction (DARK VALENTINE) a try!

UPDATE: I went to Dark Valentine and we had lots of fun, the overall experience was good. The props were top of the notch and the scares were too. I will be going to The Night Of The Creeps!

UPDATE: I went to the Night Of The Creeps tonight and it was AMAZING! Out of all the events Ive went to, this was the most thrill-seeking one. They did a great job separating out groups and the actors were well trained. I got startled many times and thrown around as well lol. From getting chased with a chainsaw to being rolled in a wheel-chair. I will be going to the next event!

We had tickets for 11pm on Saturday, October 20th. It said online to be there at 10:45, which is the time we got in the line. We ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours in the cold until it started pouring. It was already cold enough and the rain made it worse. We weren t even close to the entrance at this time, and were forced to leave for fear of getting sick. The website should not say to get there 15 minutes earlier if the line is going to be that long. The long line should have been managed in a different, more efficient way. Also, the fact that there are no refunds is ridiculous. If we didn t want to go or had to leave for safety purposes, we should definitely get a refund. People who buy the tickets for 11 pm should get in at 11, and others who got their tickets for a later time should be let in later. The whole setup was unsuccessful and left my group and I very unsatisfied. I am sorry, but Brighton Asylum is not worth it.

Came the weekend before Halloween with the general admission pass to 3 of the attractions. Although a wait is expected never thought I would be standing on line for 4 hours. By the time I reached the front I had no interest in seeing the other 2 attractions I paid for. I think what bothered me the most was when others asked if their ticket would be honored if they return a different day or time the employee said yes it would. With this being said I can only assume everything with this attractions is unorganized and they simply push people through like some sort of factory. Bought a ticket for 9pm arrived 30mins prior and didn't set foot in the asylum until 1am. Through out my time there I asked employees how long my wait would be and every time I would get the same answer " don't know , it depends ..." Completely unorganized and I'm truly unhappy with my experience.

For me it was too scary. But it is really well done. Wait time want as bad as I read. It was pretty good. They really put in so much effort. Everyone that I was with that really like scary stuff loved it. For me it was just a bit too scary.

No stars. Can't put zero stars or they won't post it. Don't waste your time. Lines are too long. I got there at 9:00 pm for an 11pm time. They said on the site there would be a parking lot, and then a bus ride to the attraction. A bunch of bull. We were told to find parking on the street. It took a 1/2 hour to park 15 blocks away. Got on line at 9:30. The 9 pm line hadn't even started. At 11:30 Pm the 10pm line hadn't started. Looking at another 2 hours. People just dropped off the line and left. no refunds and a lot of coursing to go around. What a waste of money!!!Left at 11:45.

i will no longer believe reviews, the people that wrote the bad reviews for this place need to go get a life. i typically don't leave reviews mostly because of time but i just had to for this haunt. place is amazing, these guys did a fantastic job with detail and set up. Actors were pretty good and staff was real friendly. was worth every penny, we got the speed pass and didn't wait long at all. this was my eighth haunt this year and defiantly on the top of the list. great job guys

Fun. We went in 2 buildings, set was convincing and at times beautiful. But the lack of ceilings was immersion breaking. Recommending pacing walking so you don't catch up to the group ahead of you.

Amazing. When I got in there, it was already such a thrill. The ground was shaking and there was a man in a suit with a chainsaw banging on glass. It is a amazing experience and will give you a fright. I highly suggest you go visit. It s 43$ a person

Brighton Is one of the Best Haunts on the East coast. One of the few that offers FULL CONTACT nights and opens up its doors every month of the year with a new theme. Makeup and Settings are supremely detailed, I found myself admiring the detail around me right before the scares came. Amazing!

As an AVID haunt-goer, I can assure you that this is worth every penny! The effects, scenery, props, costumes/makeup, and actors were all top-notch especially for the price. I went on a Thursday and hardly had to wait in line. Either way, there are actors scaring you and entertaining you while you are waiting (Otis, Captain Spaulding, and Baby were awesome btw!). I only did the 3 houses with the glow necklace (allowing actors to touch you) and it satisfied my spook appetite. I was so impressed and had an amazing time.
Between this one and 13th hour, NJ is giving other haunts a run for their money!

What a great haunt, the attention to detail is superb and it changes every year. Make-up is cinema quality and you can easily see how much work goes into every aspect...if you can keep your eyes open, that is. The line is a bit long, but when you finally get in the door and are bombarded with epic scenic work and actors that love their job, the slight frustration from the que melts away. I feel that if a haunt doesn't have a line to get in, maybe there's a reason for that, maybe it's not that good. Still yet to be disappointed by Brighton and I've been going for the last 5 years. It gets bigger and better every season. I cannot wait until October.

The line was as long as the experience ... think Disney, so a fast pass is well worth it. It was insane, I lost my voice, and at a point inside the bleeding grounds I wouldn t want to go forward my husband had to literally push me. Excellent experience first time ever but had sooo much fun! Defiantly going back!! The have lighting, hydraulics, and excellent actors, so many props and staging/production. Great job!

I ve been going to Brighton Asylum for many years now and I must say, with every year I go it just keeps getting better and better. The PORT9L completely blew me away, and the Asylum and The Bleeding Grounds were amazing as usual. I came for Slasher Thursdays and all the actors did a fantastic job. I got the glow necklace as usual and I had so much fun. The only negative thing is the fact that there was traffic throughout the haunt. I know that s something you guys can t really help because of each individual group s walking speed, and you guys already do send in groups separately to begin with. Other than that, everything was amazing as usual and I m definitely going to be back like always. To the people who complain about long waiting times - I ve never had to wait more than an hour because I ve always come earlier than my time slot. Even though lines may be long sometimes, that s only because Brighton Asylum has got to be the best haunted house in this area and everybody just really wants to experience it for themselves. Keep up the great work guys!

If you care about your health, you won t go to this during Covid. I waited online for over an hour and a half. They didn t even try to make the lines socially distant. People weren t wearing their masks right either and when you walk in, there a lot of things that touch your face so it just doesn t feel safe. Inside the attraction I think they did the best they can do in these circumstances, but let s just say there were many reasons to be scared. I would definitely see this place as being a Covid spreader even tho they take your temperature upon walking in.

For this review words alone aren't enough...
During the witching hour AM on HALL WS EVE I had a TERRORific time here on a paranormal hunt!!!! Brighton Asylum was once a for the insane so it was ripe with all types of energy !!! They provide all kinds of equipment for the hunt, one piece was the rem pod (motion/energy detector) which beeps and lights up when something/one is near it. And it was going off the entire time... notifying us of a presence ...one we were unable to see Everyone seemed to really be into it, there were laughs and screams heard throughout the night.
I would've given 5 stars if we didn't have to wait 2+hours for them to close down the haunted attraction and then wait another hour to set up for the hunt. All in all it was a thrilling experience!

This place was amazing they have so many animatronics and scary things that moves that no other haunted house I have been has. The staff was awesome there was so many cool things.. but I don't wanna give anything away. If you like Halloween and getting scare I fully recommend this place. If there it was more than 5 stars I'll give it more. For sure. I love it I love it. Just go there around 5PM because the line is insane but totally worth it

I visited Brighton Asylum the night after Halloween.

I personally was not scared at all however there were quite a few patrons (mostly teenagers) who were terrified and screamed through the entire haunted house, so some may find it scarier than I did. The scariest part of Brighton Asylum for me was walking though the dark unlit streets and parking lot surrounding the haunted house.

I give the asylum two stars however because the decor was outstanding and you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. There were numerous horror film references spread throughout the two buildings.

If anything, I d say go visit if you like horror movies, especially cult classics - you ll appreciate the amount of work put in.

If you have been to other haunted houses before and you re going here to get scared, you probably won t be.

U Can tell when the actors place a lot of effort in what they do..its great to know the actors actually scare here rather than just having motion sensored rooms that pop up and scare...my experience was excellent and i will recommend this venue to anyone who wants to get scared ,,,ESPECIALLY THE actors outside, the staff and the 3pointed clown in kitchen..

So much fun!!!! The staff outside are very engaging, and really get the anticipation up for going inside. Lines took a long while, which is completely fine! I rather wait and have a quality time indoors than an over saturated time waiting in lines. Will definitely be coming back!

It s was okay, hunting house was fun.But museums, axe throw and escape room was boring. Also very long line to wait just to enter. We bough 50$ tickets +fast pass 20$.Total 70$ per person. In my opinion that s not worth 70$, I would pay 30$, but not 70...Got disappointed. My recommendation get just admission ticket + fast pass because escape room is 5 mins and it s very difficult, ace throw just boring and museum is very empty , there like 10 customs and that s it.

Best haunted house we have ever been to. They do a great job at keeping groups separated so you don't see what's coming ahead and really get to enjoy all the scares. They do temperature checks and enforce wearing id masks which is good. All in all it was a great time and we will be back for their off season special events (Christmas Slay, Dark Valentine and St. Patrick's Slay) They can do without the museum though, it was a waste of time and space.

Great setup, awesome actors. However, it wasn't overly scary. The wait to get in was longer than the haunted attraction itself. And there was one lady who was really rude while we waited in line, she worked there, and she just continually screamed at us to squeeze to one side of a tight hallway while we waited. (Even when we were already doing that!)

It was great, the effects were crazy. Insane scenes, it really makes you feel like you are in a asylum. It was very long took us about 45 minutes to get through both the top and bottom floor which was great. I wish that there were more actors the day I Went which was the dark valentine event. There were a bunch scenes where I just walked through and nothing happened. However I recommend going to this place!!

The new Bleeding Grounds attraction was awesome. More live actors in that one, so definitely worth getting that. Get the fast pass option. Waited an hour and some on fast pass line still for the main walk through, general admission was at least a 3 hour wait. Overall good experience more thrilling/suspenseful than scary.
