Must go ice cream experience! With covid measures in place the new line system is much better and way quicker!
Must go ice cream experience! With covid measures in place the new line system is much better and way quicker!
A Winnipeg tradition, but the menu needs more choices
Had about a 30 minute wait...but it was so worth it!
Usually pretty good, and their regular icecream is great. Was not a big fan of the vegan icecream however.
Best ice cream in the city!!! Been going here for years! I have recommended this place to so many people and will continue to do so because i think everyone deserves to know how amazing it is! Psst... Try the Goog special ;)
They sell ice cream. They have a few neat 'specials'. It's 2017 and they don't use debit, I almost forgot that we live in Winnipeg and not in a remote village in the Antarctic
Salzberg is the most disgusting ice cream I ever ate, don't understand how people like it. Although I was told by a very respectful person to try it, I deeply regret it. Nightmare came true
I really love their ice cream it's so smooth and creamy
Try some of their specialty ice cream treats, walk over bridge and enjoy being outdoors. Lines can be long but the wait gives you time to decide on the perfect treat.
Overrated and unhygienic. I legit saw cockroaches flying past by the dustbin by the benches that's hardly 20 feet away from the counter. You make a lot of money guys, at least address this!
Editing my review.
Nice of you to reply back. I just thought I should put it out there for you to notice. And about you'll making a lot of money and addressing an unhygienic situation, you could get the area cleaned out with that 'money' and not have cockroaches that you claim are other insects (funny).. since its outdoor and your name is all over the benches which might get you into trouble sooner or later. Just saying....
Great view with ice cream, if the line ups aren't too long. Later in the season wasps can be a nuisance
Yes long lines but so worth it. Truly a winnipeg icon. It was my first time going but I will go back.
A Winnipeg must. A fan of the sundaes. Busy in the summer but you will see why. Goog special a good one for sharing. A first date idea too!
Their ice cream is alright but not as great as everyone makes it sound.
Waited in line for half an hour to find out they dont accept debit!? It's 2017....
Too many kids working without management present. All the laughing, slowness, inaccuracies and flirting between the employees produced a disgusting experience. Our flurry twister or what ever you call it was wet and stirred way too long and had huge ice cream globs all on the outside of the cup. I told them to make it less gross and they just laughed and put another cup on it. Also the Sundae was unbelievably small and just had two punks of icecream in it. Like what is that? This is not the first time we had sloppy messes here but it's the LAST! Never going back!
Great service and delicious ice creams (a bit too sweet for my taste but it's not a big deal). Be ready for lining up and waiting for at least 15 minutes.
I remember sweet memories when I was acstudent and used to bike up to the Jubilee ave just to buy mice ice creams from bdi. Those were the days...
It's great, don't get me wrong, but it's ice cream. the lines are very long, respectfully so as they have a huge following, however it was a nice one time thing. For the drive and wait times I'll just go somewhere closer to home, but if I'm ever in the area and have time to kill I'd certainly go again.
After living in the city for 22 years, I finally made it to BDI. I must say that I wasn't disappointed. The Goog is tasty although for an upside down blueberry banana milkshake, there seem to be less of that and much more of a hot fudge sundae component. Still quite satisfying though. The donut special was delicious although a little bit messy. The donut was a little bit dry but in all fairness it is late in the day so probably not as fresh as it would've been earlier this afternoon. I will not wait 22 years to come back a second time.
For parents with children, if you go across the bridge and to the left down the street you will find a little park where you can enjoy your ice cream and spend a little bit of time playing.
Very good ice cream place would go there every time for ice cream as its really really good
Service fine. Icecream treat too sweet. Over rated location...its a parking lot with a walking bridge. Rather have some green space, view and picnic tables.
Great place to get some icecream on a hot day and was able to use tap to pay
Best sundaes anywhere, but darn, can't believe they don't have maple walnut any more? How is this possible? Let's hear from the maple walnut fans!!!
Awesome place to hang around. The bridge is a quiet and peaceful place and heavenly during summer nights.
It seems they are slipping. I had a strawberry sundae and was surprised that the strawberry topping had no flavor. Just soggy colorless strawberries. The ice cream itself was good and the service as well but I was disappointed with the product.
Perfect place. But don t try their dip chocolate in summer. You ll need tons of napkins.
They are doing a good job for social distancing. Expect delays
Great ice cream. Really nice walking around area over the bridge and in the surrounding area.
Where else can you get a Goog? The soft serve ice cream is the creamiest. Everything is perfect.
So much s more! It was lucky that there was no queue when we arrived at 6pm. It was a great place to relax and chitchat with family and friends. The ice cream was tasty and lots of combinations.
They only had one window open and we waited in line for 40 minutes. They didn't have the item I wanted to order. I got the saltzburg which was way too salty. This place is always packed and I think the shortest wait time I've had was 30 minutes. Not sure it's worth it.
Ice cream has definitely gone down hill in the past few years.
Used to be the creamiest soft serve, but it seems like no one can beat E's Ice Cream in Headingley these days.
Really good Ice cream. One of the few places left where you can get a swirl cone. Very nice scenery with the bridge over the water. Only issue is parking. Especially when it's busy.
I don t know how I ve never been here before. This place has the best Ice Cream.
The ice cream here is legendary! This is a must stop if you are visiting Winnipeg! It's THAT good!
Nice place for Romantic walk with your partner. Varieties of Ice creams and milk shakes. Only down side is They only Accepts CASH. Only opens during summer and has a great view.
The ice cream is amazing! The lines are long the parking lot sucks but it is worth it!
My favourite ice cream place in the whole wide world!
Always a pleasure to meet friends at, get a treat and go for a walk. A Winnipeg landmark.
Great selection. There is something for everyone here
This place is awesome!!! Great service and great ice cream!!! It's a step into the past and it is awesome.
Historic place, great quality ice cream and tons of selection.
A Winnipeg must. Kind of pricey but you're paying for the experience too! Lots of options to choose from!
Super disappointing....
Bdi used to be the place to go but definitely has gone down hill. Opening day and my sister asked for a bridge bar- they didn t have any, ordered another novelty item only to be told they didn t have any. All products should be available opening day. I ordered a large chocolate dip vanilla cone with sprinkles. Hardly any sprinkles, all the ice cream wasn t covered and most of all it came super small.
I confirmed with the girl that it was a large and she said yes and I said it seems kind of small and she didn t say anything else. I really felt like I got ripped off so I asked another girl about it and she looked at me like a deer caught in head lights and finally re made it. Overall it has gone down hill, staff need more training in customer service/ more confidence and you should be fully stocked and prepared for opening day. Sadly the bdi is not what it used to be
Best ice cream in town. Prices have gone up considerably this year (2021). Disappointed.
Awesome ice cream shop with gorgeous views to enjoy with the ice cream. Best in winnipeg.
The ordering process has been greatly improved with Covid. Social distancing is good. The food was great.
There's almost always a lineup because the ice cream is good.
That is all.
Amazing winnipeg spring to fall staple. A must if you're a visitor of ywg. GooG Special is a must for the first time. Blueberry milkshake with a hot fudge sundae on top and bananas nuts and whip cream.
So many options of bdi specials.
VEGAN FRIENDLY OPTION. One option of ice cream but have a go with all their different toppings and dips. I Recommend chocolate dip (hardens to a chocolate shell) and nuts.
Long lines but worth it.
Then take a walk over the bridge and through Kingston row.
Date spot definitely.
Bring CASH$$$$
A Winnipeg classic. If your looking to enjoy the best that Winnipeg has to offer head here for some delicious ice cream on a hot day. Be prepared to wait in line and parking can be a bit of a pain but it's all worth it.
Nearly $20 for four small milkshakes that were so thick and creamy I felt like I was going to puke 1/4 into it. Hopefully the garbage enjoys it more than us.
Great place for a banana split and a get together with friends.
Best Icecream in Peg City. Long lines but worth the wait! Definitely a local gem.
So yes they are open but no they don t have anything so don t bother going until simmer when they are actually ready to be open. Why would you open your doors and not have product?
The best ice cream spot in the city. Enjoying an amazing soft ice cream while walking across the beautiful bridge. Simply a must on a summer's day!
Long lineups in summer time. But ice cream there is so worth it!
You can't beat the BDI for ice cream! Soft serve is the best anywhere. I would say sorry to the competition but I don't think there is any at this calibre.
