Always a great time. The staff are always there when you need them
I go here every summer, the ice cream and shakes are great, the queue are long and take a neighbourhood stroll. Downside, the location is far away from me.
Always delicious! Great service and very friendly!
Staff always give wonderful recommendations if you are having difficulty deciding on any of their specialties
Delicious and unique combinations of soft serve ice cream, Sundays and floats
I was at BDI yesterday for the first time for the Free Goog Ice cream Milkshake compliments of Telus.
It was great! It had Blueberries, Bananas Cherries, Chocolate and Whipped cream. So Delicious!
I also enjoyed the view if the River and the walk across the bridge. I would defiantly go back this summer to indulge in other Icecream treats
The icecream is cool and very creamy. With a great selection of ice cream treats from the basics to exotic items ( Sleeping Beauty ). Price for a large soft serve ice cream cone is I believe around $3.50. Only thing to be mindful of is if you come when it's busy be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes to get served, otherwise great experience. Did I mention that their hot fudge is absolutely delicious ?
If you're visiting Winnipeg this is a must see attraction!
My favorite soft ice cream. Great hot fudge. Lines are long but that's how you know it's good.
I love stopping here for their famous ice cream. You never leave disappointed, always a treat!
Always 5/5 start but yet again had to wait 40 mins.
Love the Salzberg!! And the walk over the river adds adventure to the treat! (Take a napkin with you )
Icecream great, but store front needs cleaning, umbrellas for shade and expand so you can store your supplies better.
4 Stars only because it is cash only or I would have given 5. Ice cream is great. Service is fast and friendly. Lines are usually long but move quickly.
Always an enjoyable walk over the bridge. Cash only here.
Best ice cream in Winnipeg. Great view from the pedestrian bridge. Nice place to come on a date.
I do not see why this place is so popular. The lines are usually so long (15-20min wait on a sunny day) to get the same ice cream you can at other places the sergeant sundae, sub zero or banana boat (actually, those places are better).
Best Ice Cream in the city! Very happy they found a creative way to open.
Great selection and large portions. Must go for all.
The Goog is an ingenious concoction of blue berries nuts and a chocolate sundae. Brilliant!
BDI is a Winnipeg staple. There's something for everyone and BDI is so unique and different from your traditional ice cream shop. The location is perfect for going on walks across the bridge and there's a park close by. Coming here is one of my favorite summer activities and it's so nostalgic for many people.
The best place in the city to get a hot fudge sundae.
Always a fun experience! Line is ALWAYS long, but moves fairly quick.
Best ice cream I have ever had! Winnipeg's best address!
Always a treat. Go for the Lincoln's Lickety Split and help support The Dream Factory!
Ps. Everything in the banana split is MB local!
I drool over their icecream. The best ice cream place in Winnipeg.
Great location! Ice cream on the bridge tastes so much better.
My favourite ice cream place in the whole wide world!
BDI is a Winnipeg institution. Serving icecream and the "creamiest milkshake in Winnipeg, since 1957 this eatery has become synonymous with humid summers days. Home to the Goog special (or how they wish it was the Google special I bet :P ) and numerous new creations each year, you will love whatever treat you decide.
Be sure to take a walk over the bridge and take in the Red River.
Local favorite. Try the unusual flavors and talk a nice walk along the namesake bridge. COVID procedures keep the benches closed. But all other modes are good and the menu items are available for walk up and take out. Recommend an upside down shake.
Great ice cream and nice view, but could be nicer with a few nicer benches to sit on, and the lines can be long. Cash only.
Wonderful Ice Cream, line up is usually long but we'll worth the wait.
I went here for the first time. I ordered the sleeping beauty for $10. Basically an emptied out half pineapple with a few chunks of pineapple bigger than you can fit into your mouth, two pieces of half cherries and whipped cream. Not even a scoop of ice cream. Just stick to the regular ice cream!
This used to be THE PLACE to go, however it just isn't what it used to be. Every year the prices go up, why? Because people will come no matter what because it was "Nostalgic back in the day", for the last few years they've taken advantage of their customers by raising the price and changing their ingredients. (Very noticeable in milkshakes, and Hot Fudge Sundaes). Despite the price, I gave this place so many extra chances because I thought it was just one bad experience, but I'm not coming back anymore. It's just not worth the money. The hadx ice cream is still okay, however it's not even made by them, so I can't really give them credit for that. The milkshakes used to be fantastic, but last year I noticed a HUGE change in the milkshake. (I'd get a chocolate banana shake or a choclate one). The ingredients tasted cheaper and I was still paying the same price for something that tasted really meh. Overall, I'm not coming back here anymore. It's changed, and it's just not the place for ice cream. If you're looking for good ice cream locations, then head over to Banana Boat or Sargent Sundae and you won't be disappointed. 1/5.
There are only 3 flavor for cones. Venilla, chocolate, and twist(of both). Totally lack of choices. Where is grape? Mint? Strawberry? Apple? Completed disappointed.
Don t get me wrong - this place has great ice cream and the walking bridge makes it ideal as a date location. HOWEVER they NEED to address the issue of waiting in line. It s a crapshoot as to what line to join and nothing is more irritating than seeing lines beside yours cycle while you are stuck waiting 45 minutes. MAKE IT ONE LINE!!! That way everyone gets served fairly, according to arrival time.
One of the best ice cream places in Canada, no doubt
Ice cream! A great place to cool down on a hot day.
Long wait times and sometimes run out of things, but delicious food.
Tasty, we had peaches and cream. Overall great treat. Make sure you grab napkins!
