The best milkshakes in Winnipeg. Tons of flavor options. You can add nuts or whatever you want and they will customize it for you. Kinda expensive (in 2021 paid 7-8 for large), but it's worth it. The place located next to the bridge. If you'll cross the bridge, you'll find fantastic looking charismatic houses. Very romantic place to walk for the date.

When I ordered my usual Hot Fudge Sunday (which I've been getting for years now) they told me no nuts or sprinkles. My order came up to more than 35$! 10$ more the usual price for 6 people~

Stand in line for an hour with mouth breathers who act like this ice cream is better than any other ice cream you can get in the city (It's not) and get scents of manure from the near by Red River.

Perfect place to get covid.lol. no social distancing followed at all, at this place. Over crowded. Would take you atleast 45 mins to reach the cashier. Parking not at all easy to find on weekends.
They should at least install some roofing else someone is surely going to get a heat strike someday, while waiting in the queue.

Very popular ice cream joint - and for good reason. Great soft serve, with some unique options. I tried the Saltzberg and didn t regret it. Expect at least a 10 minute lineup, especially on the sunny days!

It really gets busy. My family went there and it took us about half an our before we got our order. If you like ice cream and other sweet stuff, this is the place for you.
The prices are ridiculously low, the ice cream is superb, and the location is just perfect. I come here five or six times each summer, even tho its an hour long drive. Its all perfect

I haven't been here in quite some time. The Peach Velvet was just as good as I remembered it. The nice thing about coming here in October is that there is no lineup.
Very disappointing, went for a chocolate milkshake today, usually pretty awesome, today milkshake had sour taste, 2 skinny straws (no normal one), exchanged for another was given chocolate ice cream 2 skinny straws and a spoon, cant even make a milkshake , very poor service....

It's a pretty great place for ice cream, though it's is almost always packed. Good luck finding parking! Good variety except for the lack of hard ice cream. I think they only have soft serve, which was disappointing since my kids both wanted bubble gum flavour.

Local Winnipeg favorite ice cream shop. They have some amazing looking ice creams you cannot find anywhere else. They are very creative. Be careful though as they may not be very functional. Great experience going there and walking across the foot bridge or just sitting outside at their benches or tables to eat. I try to go there every summer. I recommend everybody to go check it out during the summer.

Every time I am in Winnipeg I always make a stop (or two) here for ice cream. They have a great selection of treats. Prices are great too. Service is fast and the staff are friendly. If you are in Winnipeg during the summer this should be one of your stops.

April 25 2019. Very slow service, and very unclean and disorganized. Using the same rag to clean stainless surfaces and then the flurry mixer is disgusting. The ice-cream was ok (comparable to Dairy Queen, which isn't saying much). Overall, not even close to worth the money or risk of food poisoning. Management needs to get involved in cleaning this establishment up before Health Canada gets involved. Will not be returning.

Would recommend going on a cooler day or at an off time as the line can get to like 45+ mins long if its busy. Prices are fair, similar to other ice cream places I'd say. Milkshakes are also extremely good! Must try if you like milkshakes and there is a wide variety of flavors to choose from.

Everyone loves the vibe of BDI. Winnipeg staple. Do urself a favor and check it out. Just dont wait for mid- summer because lines well be 40 ppl long all day every day. :)
Beware of the drastic quality drop. It s a pity really, this was my favorite ice cream place in town. Last couple of times were a disappointment. My banana split was more like a smoothie all melted with a banana drowned in cream.

We haven't been in BDI since last summer, and the ice cream was great.
They canceled all the parking for social distancing and making a line "snake" and that forced us to be creative with finding parking.
The new sraws are made of paper, and for the ones taking a shake an enjoying the drink the sraw is losing formation and making drinking the less enjoyable.
The ice cream, the cookie monster and the smarf were all super good as usual.

Great ice cream and a beautiful location. BDI is a total Winnipeg icon. I recommend you get there early though, because the lineups are always very long.
I'm sorry but I just had the worst flurry I have ever had in my life. HUGE CHUNKS of cookie dough making it impossible to eat it with the icecream. The icecream was too soft too. It just melted into a gooy mess. Maybe other things taste better.....but the icecream needs to be thicker for that to happen.
It is an amazing place, and I love going to it every summer! My favourite by far is the Saltzberg, I just love it! It is a great place, and I live a block away, so very easy to get to! My only issue is the long lines in the evening, but it tells you how good the place is! I hope the BDI stays for many years!
