Love this place! Warm and cozy with great wines and better food.
Packed place but atmosphere is good, service is quite okay, we ordered a salad and pasta, food tasted good but seems a bit oily, our stomach stayed full till mid night.
Nice wine bar with a good selection of wines and a surprisingly vast selection of tasty small plates. Can be a bit tight seating-wise. Bartenders are very friendly.
Edit: been back here a few more times and it's my favorite place in Hell's Kitchen. I'm actually a big fan of all of the Passons' places, their food is consistently top notch and their places and very well run.
I forgot the name, but it was pasta with shrimp. It was delicious and went well with sparkling wine. The pre-meal bread was also delicious! There is a wait because the restaurant is small in size when it is busy. Good aim...
As others have noted, the quality of food is unfortunately not good. The lamb was pretty good, the mac had no truffle (a surprise, they didn't tell is that when we ordered) which is why we came here. The rabe was oddly bitter and chewy.
The burrata surrounded by prosciutto, drizzled with balsamic vinegar was phenomenal! I wish I could say the same about the mains, but I have since forgotten what I ordered. The suckling pig starter could do with a little more seasoning, but it was nice and meaty.
The space is small and tight, so expect to bump into people and be bumped.
Really cramped. 3 microwaves in the back power some of the food. Staff is not too friendly.
Good spot for small bites! Started with grilled octopus salad, had the Mozzarella Pomodoro Basilico and tried the Ravioli Ricotta. Star of the night was the octopus. Grilled perfectly to a crispy outside and a soft and melty inside. The Mozz was on par but not impressive and the ravioli was a bit bland for a cheese heavy dish but the menu calls for subtle tastes. Packed place but doesn't feel too cramped. Tiramisu was ok.
Excellent versions of classic Italian dishes, and an exquisite wine selection. This small yet welcoming place offers one long communal high-chair table, which creates a nice intimate dining experience. The Linguini with Clams was simple but excellent (which is the best kind of Pasta dish). The Octopus appetizer was delicious too. A great find!
This is a great place for a date night. Reasonable prices and absolutely delicious pasta. The seating is just two family style tables so you will be sitting close to other customers, but it is still a very intimate and fun atmosphere.
Good food, took forever to get the check, and took forever for them to confirm we actually had a reservation
Fantastic small Italian plates at reasonable prices. But forget reasonable and get some good wine, too. Family style seating at only two tables with a Max occupancy of only about 20 people, so be prepared to chat with your neighbors. Save room for the tiramisu; you'll regret it if you don't.
nice setting, good service, glad they had 2 bar seats where we could sit close together , even without a reservation \\
great to be able to get a table walking in as 2 \\
I like their whole network of restaurants, like Terra is my fav Italian in Greenwich Village rn \\
pe ordered Tortelli Prosciutto 94/ \\
sc ordered Tortelli d'Aragosta. \\
pe told story of his Monday night "monthly cocktails" report happened \\
Ben's massive restaurant-filled gMaps was mentioned \\

Lovely place,
Staff adorable
Omg what a find!! This place is so amazing. Really good wine for affordable prices. Nice wine list. And the food is wow!! Not your usual tourist crap Italian knock off food. It's tiny and delightful.
One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Small place, communal table but delicious food and attentive staff
I love this place. My new neighborhood favorite, I go at least once or twice a week. :)
We stumbled upon this place while looking for a late night restaurant after attending a show in Times Square. We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in the midst of this bustling city! I had the hand made Gnocchi in tomato sauce and the Arugala salad. It was made to perfection :) That also had a nice red wine from Montalcino. The manager CY was very friendly and helpful. I d love to go back
Fantastic little Italian restaurant in Hells Kitchen neighborhood.
The burata was delicious. The beef carpaccio needed a bit of salt, but you can add that yourself.
The funghi pasta was good. The spaghetti vongole was really really good. Though you don't notice the amount of salt until partway/towards the end and then it makes sense why the first bites we're bursting with flavour. Same with the spaghetti and meatballs. The kale salad was alright.
Overall, it is a great casual restaurant with a fun and intimate ambiance. It's not a destination restaurant where I'd go out of my way, but I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a dinner spot while in the area.
Amazing food and wine selection! Highly recommend this place.
Serious Italian food. The porchetta bites stood out.
This is my favourite restaurant in NYC. Small and hidden away, it would be hard to know this place is here. It brings the same menu as it's sister-restaurant, Aria in west village. Everything on the menu is fantastic. i mean everything. you cannot go wrong. Nothing over $16 (except specials), all share plates. The wine list is the same, they're all great.
The staff are an interesting mix - the latinos in the kitchen are non-stop. In full view of everyone, with very limited light and in a tiny space they create such amazing food. very impressive. The waitresses are always polite and nimble, moving through the tiny space with ease as if no one was there, and the manager, who is generally behind the bar, is a great character. you get all his French vibe at first but he is very accommodating and cares about the quality of your experience.
The families who own this restaurant do such a fantastic job with all their restaurants, but Bricciola is my fav.
Yeah, the service is fine. The food is claimed to be be very good. I found it to be solid. The people working there make up for it.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
Such a terrible experience with the food quality and quantity- management should be embarrassed
A most excellent experience. Italian/French dining. Can order in Italian French Spanish or English. The pasta was out of this world. Wines are a bit overpriced but the experience is as close to European as you'll get in this country. Seating is family style around the table and it's difficult not to meet people from overseas. The space is a bit crowded but that makes it cozy and fun even for an introvert like me.
Italian sausage and truffle gnocchi were really good!!
Excellent and authentic Italian cuisine. The menu is not limited to the "most common" dishes from Italy but specialties. ..you will love it
Many restaurants nearby that offer the same style of food but I definitely made the right choice when entering Briciola. Super nice atmosphere, the staff is very attentive and they explain the menu.
Order burrata with prosciutto, mushroom pasta and cocktails, everything was delicious. I will definitely go again!
The food was great , but the place is TINY!! Expect sitting next to other ppl and having to yell across the table to hear each other. Ended up sitting at the bar to actually hear each other. We liked the grilled octopus and the bronzino.
Excellent wine bar. Very lovely with a great vibe. Cicchetti (appetizers), pasta, and entrees are all top notch for such a small place. Can get crowded so plan accordingly.
You can either sit at the bar or in the adjacent room at a long high-top table. The food is out of this world. I went with my family and we ordered the Gorgonzola Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Speck, Ravioli Ricotta (in a Parmesan Cream Sauce with Spinach), Buffalo Mozzarella with Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Basil, and the Gnocchi in a Truffle Cream Sauce. All were phenomenal. I can't recommend one dish, I have to recommend all.
We ate there very well on two evenings. Great atmosphere, very nice service. Prices ok too. We will be back.
Very nice and accommodating waitstaff. Made reservations and went when it was not busy. Very cozy and intimate.
I love to have dinner on the bar with my girlfriends delicious food! Perfect for date
Had high expectations given the hype. Very disappointed. One commenter highlighted inconsistent results so perhaps it was an off night. But the food was completely unremarkable. Lamb chops overcooked and underseasoned. Pasta was gummy. Wines by the glass nothing special. Space crosses the line from intimate to just plain uncomfortably cramped. Overall forgettable experience.
I ve been here a few times with my husband. Today I went with my girlfriend and it was just as awesome as the other times. Wonderful Italian food and good service. Keep in mind there are only about 20 seats in this place so it s always packed. Really can t beat the food though!
Adorable spot, good for a date (definitely come with a group because it s tiny). Not my favorite Italian in the city.
The pasta! So good! We have a great time whenever we come here.
Cute romantic place Lobster ravioli is a must. And crab cakes!
Black truffle gnocchi is awesome. Amazing coffee and dessert.
Yesterday, we walked past this place which used to be very busy before Covid but was quiet last night. We wanted to help out our neighbourhood so we asked for a table. The guy pointed at a table next to another table with couple of customers eating.
Doesn t he know what social distancing mean? We saw plenty of empty tables near the door so we chose one and sat down. To our disappointment, no one came to take our orders after we ve been sitting there for ages.
Everything I ate was absolutely delicious! I had dates filled with Gorgonzola and wrapped in speck, and then gnocchi Sorrentina. Yum!!
Such a small intimate space, it s a true hidden gem. Would be great for a date or dinner/drinks with your best friend.
Food was tasty, mix it up- try smaller portions to savor as many amazing dishes as your stomach can handle. This is a social eating fest. Go with an open mind...meet amazing people. A must try.
Amazing food, cozy atmosphere, great service. I got the bolognese with gluten free pasta. I couldn t tell it was gluten free. Perfectly al dente, great flavor. The grilled shrimp with polenta appetizer was scrumptious.
Good tasty food. Pesto and artichoke pasta =
They have lunch special of $18 for house wine (red or white) with pasta (which is regular $16).. sweet deal. Nice bread as well. Decent wine by glass. Great quick lunch.
Pasta is made in house !!! Yessss!
Checked this place out during lunch so I only had 1 plate since I didn't want to crash hard after eating.
I had the Bigoli Della Nonna which consisted of thick Venetian spaghetti with angus and sausage ragouth (exactly what the menu stated lol).
Surprisingly after scarfing down the entire dish I did not feel sluggish. I felt GREAT and my tummy was extremely satisfied. Pasta was 10/10. I need to come back ASAP and check out the other dishes.
Cheers!
What a gem. Amazing Italian cuisine, lots of great wine options, and exceptional service. Great things come in small packages. Loved it!
My one and only go-for Italian restaurant at all time. Oyster happy hour $1/ea
Very slow service. And the waiter had an attitude and didn't inform us of prices for the specials
Decent food and large portions. Prices are reasonable, service is great, but the quality is just ok. Would recommend for a quick outing with friends but not if you aim to get authentic Italian food.
Love the quaint and cozy atmosphere, and the food is splendid!!
Our review 2 years ago - I N C R E D I B L E, just dribble. And i love how quaint, European a sense you get and it's a tiny squeeze, love it luv it, loooooooooove. Tiny, quaint delicious. If I were rich I would buy everyone a coupon for the experience. Like no other. If your clustaphobic, not for you, but I love being smothered by people.
Our review today 4 May 2017 - THE MANAGER WAS HOSTILE AND DISHONEST with intent to humiliate.
i am sad to write this review of a restaurant i love. last night at 10:30 pm Wed 3 May, 2017 we were hostily and loudly chased a way with screams and outburst of WE ARE CLOSED, WE ARE CLOSE, WE ARE CLOSE, WE ARE NOT TAKING ANYONE ELSE THE MANAGER SCREAMED OUT, patrons were clearly shaken.
First i would like to say i have been here at least 15 times, i have brought actors here, editors, creative directors, models, my clients.
i began to see a decline the last two visits nevertheless i love the menu. Last visit the food Sept 2, 2016 had to be taken back twice, i was disappointed in the service and the laxness in responding to my concerns. Familiarity breaths contempt, the manager would normally greet me with a show, hug kisses, "who have you brought today?', but this night when i brought my concerns to him, he shrugged me and did not offer to even compliment a tea or something or take off the bill. i said to him that i have been there so many times and he shrugged and said "what do you want me to do?" very annoyed. Last night 10:30 pm Wed 3 May, 2017 i came with an actor friend of mine from the show the WIRE, we walked in the restaurant and the manager looked at me and in the loudest voice a bit manic yelled out WE ARE CLOSED several times, i looked at him thinking he was joking at first and continued in as they close at 12:00 midnight. i said softly, "hey!", he began screaming frantically, 'WE ARE CLOSED, WERE CLOSED, WE ARE NOT SERVING, WE ARE CLOSED", the couple behind us walked out, so he actually turned business away for the sake of being spiteful and bitter. We decided not to have a scene but to leave and watched for a while as we watched others come in and were seated, i could have taken up the matter further but i felt a good honest review would instead do the trick. This was one of my favourite restaurants but clearly a manager that is hostile, holds grudges and is clearly unbalanced. i have seen in good form with other customers but i was stunned to experience it first hand. The bartender even apologised for him and said i have to obey him, customers were taken aback. This is a review from someone who LOVES this restaurant. i am sad to have had this experience and will be reporting it to every food site and food board. The way to handle this manager, was to say "i am sorry about the experience last time, i was not on my best, but i would like to offer you a good night tonight", not catch a tantrum.
My favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood!!
My favorite place from Hell's Kitchen! Amazing food/service, love the energy and the environment that they offer!
Ended up here randomly and it was amazing! Highly recommend the boar pasta, really really great place that deserves more praise, will be coming back often whenever in the area :)
Went here on Thursday night without a reservation around 6:30. Got seated in 15 minutes. Wouldn't bring young kids. Food was great. Got the black truffle gnocchi, calamari, and creme brulee. Pretty much ruined any other gnocchi for me since this one was so good. Calamari was tasty, not fried like most of the other ones I've had. Great date spot. Sit at the bar. Added some entertainment.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff is helpful and professional. Dishes are amazing, specially the octopus, oysters and tuna tartare. I will come again for sure!
Small and always packed. You sit either at the bar or a community table. Food is great as well as price point. Tried octopus at 2 different times and both came perfectly grilled. Try their homemade pastas.
Cozy little Italian place! The truffle gnocchi are delicious!!
If this is the restaurant in Riverdale, the food was $$ and barely average.
Tiny place. Great food! Overheard a local say it's abysmal in the summer; way too hot and stuffy. It was perfect on a dismal, rainy day in the city though.
Really neat Italian spot, split into two small sections (one featuring a bar, and the other a big communal table). The Carpaccio was amazing and the special of the day, scallop risotto, was top notch. I'll definitely be back here often!
Very quaint, small space. Feels like you re in a wine library. Truffle gnocchi was disappointing but the tiramisu was delicious!
Sweet Jesus. Pastas are so tasty and everything on the menu looks delicious. Need to come back to taste everything
Intimate and lovely. Amazing food, well priced, attentive service.
Lovely little Italian restaurant. Yummy food! Squid salad is a must try.
In addition to the atmosphere being super tasty, with a shared table and counter, the food is wonderful. Everything I ordered there was great! The pasta was delicious, at the right cooking point and with the super tasty sauce. I went there three times on the last trip ... I tried a lot and there was nothing that disappointed me.
Delicious food, Lovely atomosphere, small but cozy Italian restaurant. We went before opening, and in case of going early and seating 1-2 people no rsvp is required (though I recommend anyways). Tall bar seats and everyone sits on one long table. You can place bags in the nice cubby behind you. They do NOT serve coffee and was surprised after the meal!! Grilled octopus was really great and recommend. The place is small and table is high so NOT recommend for wheelchair, and not really a buggy and toddler place (unless maybe you call and they welcome it). Would go again early lunch but without kids if I ever such chance. Nice service.
Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. Very cozy
Lovely place! Great wine and great food. The staff is kind
Phenomenal! We had two of the special dishes of that evening and it was definitely the best mushroom risotto I have ever had, and the truffle gnocchi was equally amazing. I highly recommend a visit to Briciola.
Stay a way from this place, the space is extremely tight, food portions are small and they have a REALLY RUDE waiter.
