Boulevard American Bistro Review

Ribs were tender and delicious. Lobster roll was good. Great atmosphere. Very limited menu. They had a small army of polished wait staff that worked incredibly well as a team... Which may explain why the prices were a bit high.

We saw this on the way to the mall from out of town, and thought it looked interesting. When our original choice had a 2 hour wait, we decided to give this a try, not knowing what to expect. We also Had our two year old daughter with us.

It's an extremely nice restaurant. We started off with the deviled eggs which my husband said were divine.

My two year old got a grilled cheese kids' meal which was thin, small cut bread that she liked because I didn't have to cut it up for her. My husband got the new york strip. I got the filet mignon. The steaks were the best steaks I had ever tasted (i'm pregnant, so this is important).

We finished off our meal with a slice of cheesecake, which was DELISH. It was obviously homemade.

This is NOT a cheap restaurant ($130 for our meal, without the tip) but worth it in taste. We will be back.

My waitress was Brittney. She described any item I inquired about on the menu. I choose the crab cakes and loaded potato. Both items was excellent. My dining experience was wonderful, the restaurant was quiet.
Brittney attended to my every need very quickly. It was nice to experience a restaurant where the wait staff was attentive instead of hiding in the kitchen. Boulevard American Bistro will become my restaurant of choice in the future...

Crab cakes are some of the best in Nola! Mostly crab without fillers!

Exceptional in so many ways. From the moment you walk through the door until you depart, you are treated with friendly professional service and deliciously prepared food selections. This is one of my all time favorite dining venues.

I went with my daughter Jan .2 for lunch . Thought the prices were overprice , limited menu , the waiter walked off twice while we were talking to him and we finally ask to pay for the drinks which he declined .
We went to Mr. Eds inKenner that had a huge menu as well as lunch menu and were very satisfied and happy . No one walked off from us and we ordered appetizers , drinks and entrees . It's not that we were being tight . The service and food was great .

Nice atmosphere great food and drinks. Friendly staff. The meals here for the last year improve with every tasting. I've had five or six different items and each has been absolutely delectable. The bartenders are very skilled mixologists. If you are stuffed at the end of your meal, I reccomend the jeyblime pie to go. ENJOY!

Robyn was our server and she was horrible. Nice girl but never brought our food to the table. Had to ask another server for our food and receipt. Food is below average. This is not a restaurant for people who are use to seasoned food.

Went to a late lunch with my son with high expectations for The Boulevard. We hadn't been there since it was Houston's, which we remembered fondly. What a disappointment! My son had a burger(it was ok) because the steak we wanted was $33.00! What! This isn't a tourist destination in Metairie! Let's face it, it's not Ruth's! I had the 1/2 rack of ribs and asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. The ribs were so skinny, dry and tough, they tasted like jerky! Barely any meat on these ribs! So we basically paid $15.00 for French fries! And to top it off, the service was minimal. We will NEVER go back! If I could give it a zero rating, I would!

Great food, the Spinach Dip is great, and the Cheese Burger is one of the best in the city. We eat here a few times a month. Never have had a bad experience. Also the loaded baked potato is amazing, the skin is delicious! The deviled egg s are a favorite as well!!!!

Went into Boulevard Bistro after chillis next door totally failed me on my lunch break. Boulevard took great care of me, they had my dinner fast and accurate. No time wasted since I had to get back to work

Romantic ambiance is very good. Drinks strong and delicious. Had the salmon dip, Hawaiian Ribeye, and the prime rib. All were cooked very well and tasted great. It's Houston's back in the day, all over again. Done exceptionally well. Would definitely go back.

Been going there since it was Houston's for 30 years, same great menu, food, and service. Every thing on the menu is great. Love it

Food was very good,but we booked a party of 10 and later was told they had over book,so it kill the whole id of the get toghter of friends 4 sat at one table and 6 at the other...
For all that we could of just booked the get toghter at chillis..this is just my own opinion..

I really wanted to give this place a 5-star review I really wanted to provide a good review of this place but I cannot. Today my colleague and I attempted to go there for lunch and was greeted kindly by the hostess and she let us know that it was going to be about it 15 to 20 minute wait we said no problem. I asked where was the restroom and I was guided there but helpful attendee I'm not sure what her full title was but she was kind enough to walk me halfway to the bathroom. On my way back from the bathroom to the waiting area by the front door where it was blazingly cold outside and the wind would just rush us every time someone opened the door to walk in I noticed that there were several tables open there were about three tables that were open for party of two about four tables open for about a party of four to six. As I woke back up there and I stood in the waiting area I started thinking to myself maybe did Hostess doesn't know that there are actually open tables and so I kindly spoke to her and I asked her do you know that there are several open tables available right now and people could actually be sat. Her response was I understand but we can only sit you based on our current Staffing. I said okay and walked away and continue to wait. I left about 2 minutes ago by and during that 2 minutes that I was waiting I was just thinking to myself what did this person just tell me they cannot sit me because of their current Staffing. I further thought to myself I would rather wait sitting at a table for someone to finally come provide me service vs sitting by this cold front door for about 15 to 20 minutes. So I approach the hostess and I asked her to please once again tell me why she cannot sit me and she told me once again that it was based on current Staffing that she could not sit my colleague and I. I said I understand what you're telling me but I would rather wait for someone to greet me at a table versus sitting by this cold door. I provide no exaggeration in my review and I am not trying to bad-mouth anyone but I kid you not the girl looked at me with a Blank Stare and it was almost as if I was talking to a wall when I asked her to please once again for the third time further explain why you cannot sit us immediately and have us to continue to wait when there are several tables that are open right now. A couple seconds later another attendee walked up and she inquired about our conversation and I said to her why can't we be set right now when there are open tables for a party of two and I kid you not the same Blank Stare was given to me. The second lady been told me I assure you we will have you seated as soon as possible. My colleague and I continue to wait for about another 5 minutes and I was explaining to him the conversation that I just had and how I feel like I just got blown off and don't understand still why they could not sit us when there were several open tables for a party of Two and a party of four to six available. This was during lunch time so I understand there was a huge rush however when I tell you to your face and explain to you and points to the open tables and my response from your workers is a Blank Stare and not even a real explanation it was insulting. I can understand getting horrible service with someone that's not very attentive someone that leaves my drinks empty somebody that doesn't greet me nicely and check on me throughout the time that I'm eating my dinner but for you to look me in my face and to not give me an explanation and to only receive a blank stare as to why you cannot sit me immediately was very hurtful I was hurt it was really really hurt and how was insulted. This is not what I expected from this place I've never been treated like that in my life and I really hope that the manager responds to me and I will be glad to talk to the manager in person and explain what happened they can call my cell phone number they can give me a direct inbox message we can coordinate that and we can talk about my experience but I am offering no exaggeration.

it is suppose to be another Houston's ( they menus are alike) but Houston's taste so much better. the food here is not bad at all but I have been several times and Houstons wins every time

I went to them about a week ago and got crab cakes. I would put one star because for the price, biting down into crab cakes loaded with shells was extremely heart breaking. However, I sent a review on Facebook and their actual website and got a phone call from the manager the next day. I received my $40 four days later. Today, I'm gonna try it again. Hopefully, it will be much better this time.

To start, my family and I ( 6 ) of us walked into Boulevard American Bistro and we where greated as soon as we walked in, not only hi and welcome but how is your day. Ok WOW who does that anymore these day's and we where thanked for coming in. We where seated only moments afterwards then greated again by our server ( Nicole ) we can only say all 6 of us how impressive the service was, the timing from drinks, to appetizer, to main course, to the offering of desert could have not been more perfect. The food was done very well and was very good, we had ( burgers, BBQ shrimp and grits, pressed cuban, french dips and spinach dip, all were perfectly done by the kitchen staff, we unfortunately could not fit desert this time, we will make room on our next visit for sure. Thank you , Nicole and the Boulevard American Bistro for an amazing experience today.

Our waiter was great-- attentive, had good recommendations, got our orders right, & the food was good. There was no wait and even with booths guests were spread out. The darker atmosphere with spot lighting on the table gave the place a little bit of a romantic feel, which I wouldn't have expected but was a nice surprise.

A first for me. Actually was served a meal so bad that I sent it back. Solution?They sent the exact food back to me along with the promise to cook more. And for free. Sorry but if it s not good enough the first time why would I want twice as much of it because it s free. Come back Houston s, please

This restaurant was quite the disappointment. I dined in yesterday Wednesday August, 3rd around 7:00p.m. The ambience of the restaurant seemed very welcoming when I first entered, but that was short lived by the unfriendly host who didn't say two words to us as she seated my husband and I. The waitress was a woman of few words which was quite odd to me because in my experience with eating at fine dining establishments the waitress usually influences the guest in up-selling and suggesting special cocktails. In this situation, I honestly feel that she wanted us gone before we sat down. We didn't let this ruin our experience because working in the restaurant business and being a server myself I understand that some days you just aren't as chatty as other days. So we proceeded to order an appetizer, we ordered the crab cakes which was recommended by our server. The crab cakes took approximately 20 minutes, which in my opinion was a bit long considering the volume of guest in the resturant was pretty low. When they finally arrived they looked alittle over cooked, but I tried them any ways and just as I assumed they were over cooked. I addressed this issue to the server who then rolled her eyes and said not a word to me, but instead called a manager to my table. The manager came and I explained that I thought the crab cakes were over cooked and perhaps we could get another order. The manager who's name was Kourtney I believe, said if they remade them they would come out the same way. This is not something that you should tell a customer, it was clear that the cooks over cooked them. After exchanging a few words, Kourtney walked over to our server, made a comment and both of them glanced at our table and started to laugh! At this point I felt so disgusted with the mangement and staff altogether and decided to leave. We had been there for 45 minutes without receiving our entrees also. To make matters worse the server suggested we go across the parking lot to Chilli's on our way out the door. I will be contacting corporate on this matter because this type of treatment is totally unacceptable. This place will not last very long if they continue to treat customers this way.

Had a great dinner, everything was cooked to perfection and on time. Our waiter Peyton T. was very polite, attentive and menu knowledgeable, with a welcoming knockout smile... Other than not having a pager /intercom system, we had no complaints...We will definitely return in the future.

Okay so I came here praying for ONE thing Baked potatoes with our steaks and they had it that s why they get the four stars!!!! When I requested my food be served fresh off grill scolding hot they did that with no problem another thumbs up!!!! When I got my food MY god the baked potatoe was amazing especially because the cheese was melting all over butter was soft due to it being so hot and the Steak was mediocre to say the least sadly I could ve done a better steak at home It could ve been a off day for the reg cook because literally here I am two days later and EVERTHING was great!!!!! So after rereading my review lol I ll be changing it to Five stars !!!!

Good place to go with your family for dinner. The service is very good and the food qualify meets your expectations.
If you don't like to wait they have the bar area where you can get some drinks and food from the main menu as well.

I celebrate my birthday there and had an awesome time. Abby our servicer was very very good. She made the evening pleasant and fun. Thanks to the Chefs for an awesome meal.

Waiter was awesome the food was very disappointing. Was not impressed at all. Stay away from snapper if it even is snapper because it sure didn't taste like snapper. If I ever go again I will try the ribs because that barbecue sauce was really good

Great restaurant. Friendly, warm and inviting staff. Was on a weekend getaway in New Orleans and decided to try them out. They have the best Kale Salad I've ever had and the French Dip Sandwich was delicious. The food was so good I visited them twice while I was in LA.

Wouldn't recommend. Not great service. Food was tolerable but not enjoyable. Food took extremely long. I would pass and pick a better place.

1/1/2021 came here on new year s and and I absolutely enjoyed my dinner!! our server was Charles and he was a charm and a delight will come back

They had me on a wild goose chase to come back there to see if I left my glasses there when I thoroughly explained them and they were tortoise shell. I get there he has one blue pair! Really!!!! Unacceptable! And just so everyone knows they throw their lost and found d away frequently according to their own Manager Adam!

Not a super flashy place - as steak houses go. But it is convenient and consistently very good. The staff has always been gracious and accommodating. My husband and I like to bring our children (11, 8 + 5) here for Valentine s Day and dates with mom/dad.

Something has changed. Food used to have more flavor a month ago. Doesn't have the same kick....still good but used the be great!
