My wife and I visited for the first time on 2/4 and we were impressed. We had the far end of the bar to ourselves. Luke and Lucas were great bartenders; fast and friendly. The meal started w\ the best popover I have ever had. My wife ordered the Filet that came w\ fries and an arugula salad. The filet arrived w\ the salad and a moment later, another waiter arrived w\ the fries in a big bowl and plopped a generous portion on her plate. I ordered the NY sirloin which was a la carte but I was also given fries, a very nice touch. The fries were shoestring but perfectly cooked and were delicious. I know they are just fries but they were great.
Later in the meal, they came back w\ more fries. Another nice touch that you don't see in these a la carte steak houses. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and they were also the best I've had. The restaurant was gorgeous w\ dark wood and a brick wall behind the bar. Very comfortable. Rave review. Don't hesitate to try it.

Great experience eating here. The food was exquisite and the server was very pleasant. The chicken so tender and delicious. I wouldn't ordinarily pair kale with mashed potatoes but believe me this meal has me convinced that there's no other way to eat Kale.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff, location, and most importantly the food. From the moment we walked in until we left, the experience delivered. The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff was professional and each course exceeded our expectations. We'll be back again, there were several entrees we wanted to try. The only regret is we had to choose one..

Great place to eat or just have drinks with friends. A bit cosy.

Shared some plates between a group of us. Best steak I've had in Boston. Best fries too!

The waitress was friendly and we had a good night out. Cocktails are a bit pricey and they go down too easily!

Our server Dan was exemplary, the food was worth every dollar, the decor is right in line with what the modern steakhouse should be, and I would unquestioningly recommend this to anyone considering a visit. 5 stars.

Very nice restaurant from the time we walked in to when we left. The hosts were welcoming as was the entire staff. Our server was very helpful answering questions about items on the menu and was able to articulate differences between cuts of steak, and how the sides, which were familiar with a twist, were prepared. The steaks were cooked to the correct temperature which is to be expected at a steakhouse, but doesn't always happen. The room has a buzz, but unlike so many restaurants nowadays, it wasn't noisy! We were able to have a normal conversion without yelling. The service was professional and well paced. We neither felt rushed nor neglected. The prices are prime steakhouse, but unlike many restaurants at this price point, the experience was worth the bill of fare. Boston Chops definitely merits a return visit. My only quibble (and it's pretty minor) is the TVs that shed that TV-glow/flicker over the dining room. It would be nice if they could be shielded from the dining room and kept in the bar, but this won't keep me from returning!

Terrible service and especially horrible hostesses. There was a tall, gawky hostess who was especially rude and had a bad attitude. I will not be going back there because of her horrible behavior. Also she was on her phone instead of looking up to greet us. Totally unprofessional and embarrassing for the restaurant, especially unacceptable for a high class establishment. They need to hire better staff.

Delicious, from crock of French onion soup, filet was melt in your mouth with layered potatoes and spicy broccoli. Beautiful presentation. Followed with Black Forest cake with raspberry sorbet. The superb wait staff, friendly, attentive to details 100% excellent. The old bank vault transformed into a wine vault. Perfect for date night or a special occasion or wedding party. Worth the visit.

Last night, we celebrated an anniversary here. It was fairly easy to make a reservation, and parking was not bad either for 8 pm on a Thursday night. This restaurant's atmosphere was modern sleek steakhouse and very spacious/large. It would be a great place for large groups. The service (our waiter) was outstanding - very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the calamari and bone marrow to start, both of which were delicious. The bone marrow is a must try - they put an interesting twist on it by including pulled pork, sauerkraut and crispy onions to top it with. Very tastey. For the main course we split the bone-in rib eye with the spicy broccoli and mexican corn. This was plenty of food for us. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, they were so nice to treat us with a steak tartare bit, desert of our choice and glass of port to finish. We will definitely be returning here.

Excellent food and service. I got to try their oysters, NY strip, roasted bone marrow, and creme brulee. Each was amazing in their own way. I recommend the peppercorn sauce to go along with the steak instead of their house sauce. If you add a scoop of bone marrow to your bite of steak, it is heavenly good. I was in a group of four and three of us got roasted bone marrow. The waitress added a fourth bone marrow to not let that person feel left out! The staff made sure that my group was taken care of and that we had a wonderful experience. Combo the delicious food with outside seating in great evening weather, well-crafted drinks, timely service, and a wonderful atmosphere, and you'll wonder if life can get any better than that.

This was the BEST steak dinner I have ever had. EVERYTHING was incredible from the Ribeye, to the Mac & Cheese, to the fingerling potatoes, to the unique puff roll. On top of that our server (Lucas) was truly one of the best I've ever had. If you're in Boston, living or visiting, don't miss this resturant experience. Special note - the Manager was also incredible and extremely pleasant.

If you love perfectly cooked meat, go there. It takes 30 min for the dish to arrive but totally worth it. Cooked sous-vide, it exactly as asked: rate is rare, medium rare is medium rare, etc. Cocktails are not exceptional but ok. Creme brulee is one of a kind (trust a French person ;) )

Delicious food. I had the Wagyu beef and it was fantastic. The ambience is wonderful. There is a bit of a pretentious air to the place, so be prepared to know what you want! The drinks were also very tasty. The service was alright. I felt a little judged during my time there. Prices, as you might imagine, are also high, but that is to be expected for the high quality food that you do receive.

The service was amazing and the Gilt Brunch option was more than worth the price. My favorite was to eat the Pecan Sticky Buns with the Panna Cotta with berry compote and granola.

The steak and eggs is also a must try!

A bit pricey, but the food is excellent. The best French onion soup in Boston, don't miss it! I'm not a huge steak fan, but that doesn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying the fish and chicken on the menu.

I really like Boston Chops because despite being an expensive steak house, they have a reasonably priced steak frites option. They bring freshly baked popovers instead of bread which is also a nice touch. Great cocktail menu as well.

Came in with a few friends on 3/11 for dinner. From the time we entered the restaurant until we left everything was amazing. The hostess was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our experience special. My ribeye was perfect and the broccoli dish is to die for. Our server was a bit cold but my amazing meal made up for it... I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

High-end steak house with many great meats. Atmosphere was modern, the music pretty upbeat while the interior was very cozy, dim and intimate. Works for any age group. Be prepared that it's not dead quiet (not loud, just not silent). Service was also excellent. Highly recommended!

The chic atmosphere is stunning, the food and service are even better!! I have had many meals with clients at Chops and they are always incredibly impressed. The bartender Kiko is phenomenal, always in a fantastic mood and great bartender! The steak is out of this world and the sides are dangerously good! The poutine baked potato and the mac and cheese are just some of the great sides offered at Boston Chops South End!! Whether you are going out with family, friends, on a date or clients, this is a must!

This is one of my favorite places in the City. The food is always consistently amazing from the best oysters, raw bar, to the onion ring tower, Filet and Pork. Atmosphere is great for all occasions, from date night to family dinner night out. I highly recommend this place.

I was fortunate to experience a wonderful dining out experience at Boston Chops during Dine Out Boston (Restaurant Week). We went with a resrevation of 4 on a Friday night and were seated promptly without need to grab a drink at the classic bar setup, even though the place was packed. The meal was pre-selected from the Dine out menu (1 appetizer -3 choices, 1 entree - 3 choices, 1 dessert etc) I got the oysters on the half shell, steak and frites, and creme brulee. The meal was timely and delicious, the fries in my opinion was the best even though the steak was properly cooked medium-rare with 3 sauces to choose from (and they allowed me to try all 3). The red wine was flowing and the meal was a success with friends. Recommended for date nights, but expect steakhouse prices.

I had a wonderful evening at Boston chops. They serve pop overs right after you sit down which are straight from the oven and amazing. I ordered the double cut chop as my entree. The presentation was beautiful and the chop was perfectly cooked and delicious. My friends had steak and sea bass which they thoroughly enjoyed. Overall I was very happy with the experience.

Chops is a cozy place. However, I was not impressed with the "Rarely Celebrated" menu selections that I chose. I am Portuguese and love stewed trip with beans ("Dobradas" in Portuguese). On a cold day it is one of those meals that warm you up and fills you when there is a nice glass of wine and fresh bread to go with it. Chops' attempt at it failed miserably. My advice to the chef is to take a trip to New Bedford and have some, and adjust your recipe accordingly. Also, I had tongue for the first time in my life. It tasted just like kielbasa. The service at the bar was very good. The price for these two items plus a Manhattan, glass of Tempranillo, espresso and Frangelico was $70. I went there for something unique and got something that was sub par.

The brunch options are delicious and we ordered a steak to share among the table, which was cooked perfectly medium rare. The service exceeded our expectations. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and instead of serving an individual portion of the hazelnut tart to the birthday gal, they served a huge portion so everyone could have their own slice.

Dine-out-Boston was this week. I got the 8oz filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked. The outside had a nice cast iron char and the inside was a nice middle raw. The Caesar salad was different came with aged provolone and anchovies. Never had that combo, but it was decent. The desserts we're a work of art. They were pretty and tasty the drinks were perfectly mixed. Service was excellent. I accidentally spilled a whole drink on me and 3 staff came to help. They also gave me a handful of napkins. It's pricy here, but worth it. I would come back to this location. What a great experience.

The place is still relatively romantic even in this covid era. The food was good as always. They removed some things from the menu and made some other things a small fee that were free before. Restaurants are hurting so its understandable. Sticky Toffe Pudding is still worth traveling to get.

Great location for a semi-private event. My husband and I booked the front dining area for our wedding rehearsal cocktail hour. We have 22 guests in this space and ordered appetizers and drinks while there. The staff was great and a helped a lot in the planning process. Thank you Alexander for the assistance and the Boston Chops staff for a great event.

Great food, some of the dishes were original and not standard. Meat was great, and the service was even better. Ambience was fun - the place was full and vibrant all our stay there (from 8:30 to 22:30). Better experience than Capital Grille and Abe & Louie's
