The appetizer (jumbo shrimps) were not fresh at all. Even almost spoiled. Also pay another $ 29 for a piece of Rib Eye of less than 100 grams with some arugula. The fries were MCDobald style .... Only the desserts were great .... I am not going there anymore. Price and quality ratio is hard to find here. Only positive: our attendant Melinda was super friendly, polite and caring!

It s a fine steakhouse, but the service is exceptionally slow and the food is nothing to write home about. The menu never changes. If meat is what you re after, you can t go wrong with Boston Chops, but you can probably do better elsewhere.

I have frequented chops over the last few years and always enjoy their menu. Ms. Sinclair, a manager at Chops, helped make the evening wonderful for my girlfriend and I as we celebrated and had an evening out. Everything was amazing and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend starting off with a seafood tower and moving to one of their prime cuts. The desserts cannot be skipped over either!

We cannot wait until their brunch specials are back this summer!

Items that were ordered on this particular night with a brief summary:

Roasted bone marrow - $11: If you haven't had bone marrow before definitely give this a try. The flavors they contain (when combined with the other items on the plate) are phenomenal

Onion rings w/ spicy aioli - $11: If you like onion rings this is a absolute must have! The spicy aioli pairs nicely with the delicate batter and sweet onions. I'd get this everytime!

18 oz Food & Wine Prime Bone-In Rib Eye - $59: Fantastic cut of beef with excellent, rich flavors. NOTE: This is an ala-cart item and thus comes with no sides so if you want to have a change of texture then ordering a side is strongly recommended!

Black forest cake - $12: Comes with a cherry sorbet which pairs surprisingly well with the rich dark chocolate cake. If you love dark chocolate then you will probably enjoy this as well!

All-in-all if you enjoy a good steak then definitely give this place a try!

As a neighborhoodie, I hit this place a couple times a year. Top notch martinis, decent wine selection, and phenomenal food. From the popovers, to the veggie-sides, to the fantastically curated and prepared meats, I always have something different to eat and have never been disappointed.

The food was horrible. The steak has strong smell and too chewy even though I order medium well. Salad is extremely sour like it was in vinegar for hours before taking out to us. Then, one dessert in dine-out- boston menu (boston restaurant week which is $38 for 3 courses) is out of order, so the waitress gives us an offer between pudding and chocolate cake. My chocolate cake is so thick and overcook while my friend s cake is runny. We don t understand how can the restaurant make the food this bad. After all, she was added $13 more in our bill and never mention about that extra when she offer options of dessert. After all, only the french fries is fine, which I can find at Burger King. There is nothing from 3 courses is accepted. At least it should be at average but it s completely below. It s extremely disappointed and I never want to come back as well as introduce the restaurant to my friends.

I was celebrating an anniversary with my s/o, and picked this spot without a single regret. Immediately when we entered, we were courteously greeted by the receptionist and guided to our table. The restaurant's lovely amber lighting perfectly complimented the atmosphere. Throughout the evening Dan, our waiter, was a riot and beyond friendly, very conversational, and had timed our orders wonderfully. The chateaubriand I had was cooked exactly to my liking at medium-rare, easily being one of the best cuts of meat I've ever had, even when compared to the fare from amazing places such as The Bancroft, Ruth's Chris, and Mooo. I would highly recommend this place for any event or special dining experience. Shout-out to Dan and the restaurant staff for making our 3-hour dinner an absolutely magical experience!

Maybe if this restaurant knew a thing or two about hiring polite & competent staff people wouldn't hate this place so much. Their staff & hostesses were straight up RUDE to me this afternoon & I am disgusted. Whoever your hostess was on lunch duty today, is a cold & miserable person. I don't appreciate being talked down on, ignored, and being treated with such a rude attitude. It was very offensive. Dear management: Your hostess is too busy taking selfies to greet me, and when she did, was rude and condescending. I prefer being treated. with respect, so I probably won't be back here.

Unlike most steak restaurants in America, Boston Chops' steaks were very appropriately sized and well seasoned. The appetizers were great and their take on regular bread and butter (popovers and butter) were a great addition to our experience. The ambience of the dining room was nice and lively, though the music maybe a *tiny* bit too loud for me to hear others. Our waiter was very nice and our service was excellent throughout the night. We treated ourselves and got 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, 1 side, and 3 desserts. The bill came to around $260 with tax and tip which I thought was very fair for the experience we got out of it. My one criticism would just be the underwhelming bathrooms which were very dark and had weird vibes.

Had a great dining experience . The service was outstanding, steaks top notch, and sides are great. The 18oz food and wine rib eye was cooked perfectly. The pork belly mac and cheese was creamy and cheesey goodness. The spicy broccoli paired well everything and the fingerling potatoes loaded with chunks of lardon was perfectly seasoned. The beer list was good with a mix of local small brews and some regional breweries. The wine list was where boston chops was impressive. They had a extensive list of glasses and bottle choices.

Loved the food great night out for steak and pork belly Mac and cheese was amazing. Only downside was we were seated at a two top and right between two other couples on our anniversary so we couldn't have a nice quiet conversation. Loved the popover wish we got more

Went for their 'secret' $8 burger which is only available after 10 pm. While it was difficult waiting until 10 for dinner it was well worth it. The patty was cooked to perfection and the toppings complemented the beef instead of overwhelming it. The fries were also addictive.

The bartender was very helpful and friendly. It was quiet with a good vibe. Great place to grab casual drinks with friends or your S.O. and split food. Will be back again to try their dinner service.

We chose this place for our office Christmas party last December and were very surprised in the best possible way. Their service is impeccable, and the food was amazing. The price was on point, and please don't skip the deserts, they have amazing options. We will come back for more very soon.

I really picky with steakhouses, so for me to give this place five stars is saying something. This is definitely one of the top steakhouses in Boston, up there with grill 23.

Main Dish:
As you might expect the quality of the meat is excellent. They cook the ribeye consistently every time. I usually get their signature ribeye.

Appetizers:
I also highly recommend their bone marrow appetizer. I usually don't order seafood at a steakhouse, but their calamari is perfectly cooked and tender (most places are really dry it out).

Sides, Dinks, Etc.
It's hard to go wrong with the sides. I personally recommend the spicy broccoli.... That spicy sauce they use can go with any vegetable And the Mexican street corn is delicious.
Again it's hard to go wrong with most mixed drinks and it's personal preference. I like the new negroni made with rye whiskey.

The bread popover is a freebie... Hard not to eat the whole thing.

Unfortunately I never have room for dessert so I can't help you there but the options look good.

Highly recommend this place !

This is my favorite steakhouse in all of Boston. Every item on the menu - from the bread served at the beginning, to the wine, to the sides, to the steak itself - is mouth-wateringly delicious. The servers are always accommodating, friendly, and helpful in deciding between menu offerings. Perfect spot for a date.

One of the best steaks I ve ever had. I ve been to many of them including nusr et (salt bae) in Miami and is very close to it. The staff are very friendly. Prices are not that bad. One thing to mention is the sparkling water is free which would never see in upscale restaurants.

Steak was the 18oz ribeye I had it done medium no butter. It was perfect. Lobster doesnt even need to be mentioned considering where we are lol. ("Was very good")

Asparagus was done perfectly as well soft with the slightest bit of crunch externally. Great seasoning and flavor.

Mushrooms were great. The thing I liked most was they were dry and seasoned to perfection. Honestly they didnt even make it to my steak.

Last but not least the brussel sprouts. Perfectly cooked as well, not too undercooked so it feels like you're chewing through a wedge salad, but cooked to were you had to chew but could enjoy without timing your jaw out.

Overall a great experience and super professional staff. Will come again.

Amazing service! Our server Seth was extremely helpful, attentive and made our experience amazing. He always made sure we had everything we needed, and gave suggestions without making us feel pressured. He also made sure we never felt rushed, he made it seem like we were the only table he was waiting on. And of course, the food was exceptional to say the least. Highly recommend!

If you want one of the best steaks in Boston I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance becauuse this place can get super busy. They have a special called the Dine Out Boston, which is basically a tasting menu. The oysters were delicious, but the oxtail croquettes were out of this world. I had the hanger steak the last memorable time I was here and it was cooked perfectly and with juicy goodness (yes I get it medium if you get it any other way then you are dead to me). The service here is also amazing. Seriously one of the best steakhouse in Boston.

Went here for brunch. The service was great and food was tasty. Got the picked bloody Mary, some oysters and the regular eggs benedict. The food was good - highly recommend the bloody Mary as it was refreshing and with just the right amount of spice. The oysters were good and so was the eggs benedict. I wouldn't say it was the best eggs bene I've ever had, but better than what I could've made at home. Was there around 1pm on a Sunday and the place was less than half full, which was nice since we got exceptional service. Wouldn't describe this as a unique dining experience but no complaints if you're looking for good food at a reasonable price.

Food was great

Food was great
Ambience is amazing
Drinks awesome

But the Server was rude and didn t follow our instruction to use the cash and the rest of the card. He charged the whole bill in the card and took all the cash as tip which meant he got more than 50% in tip which he didn t deserve. Follow by his disappearance act as we ask for him to one other server.

Food and staff was great . The main server was a nightmare and made our date night a never again experience.

Nice ambiance, I ordered a 14oz. steak with a side of fries. The steak was well seasoned juicy and tender. I suggest making reservations ahead of time if you prefer to sit at a table instead of the bar.

Simply Amazing! The AGM Brian and his team were absolutely fantastic! Craig our server was impeccably knowledgeable and entertaining, Dan who assisted us at our table great personality and sense of humor, Lucas was very attentive and Kiko who is so warm and gracious and loves his job! Brian the AGM made sure we had an " experience " versus just great food..he checked on our table and was very engaging throughout our evening as if we were the only people there and the restaurant was packed and he made time to talk with us at length several times! Thank you all for a "magical experience "....Calvin Napoleon Cherry

My husband can t get enough of the steak here. He wants to go here whenever we are in Boston. I go for the friend chicken, which is a large and scrumptious dish. I always take some home and have it for breakfast the next morning. You should go.

Restaurant looked great, our host was very generous, service did not take too long either. However, the food was disappointing. My girlfriend ordered the Ribeye steak, and received an unseasoned, under cooked slab of meat with no presentation. 2/5 would not recommend for the price we paid.

At the suggestion of a friend, my wife and I visited Boston Chops in the South End last Saturday night. We had a 6 PM reservation, and they had valet parking. I left my iphone in the vehicle, and the valet came into the restaurant to deliver to me. The word excellent applies to our total experience, including the service and every aspect of the meal. Our steaks were delicious, and the atmosphere of this restaurant was grand. By the time we left , it was very busy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Although we live about 20 miles away, we will visit Boston Chops again. And a special thank you to general manager Emily Sinclair.

Boston Chops saved my Thanksgiving treat. It was last minute choice. But we all enjoyed dinner. I did not have my wine choice and after dinner cips..
The sea bass was the best with the trimmings and presentation .
We will revisit .
