Chops is a cozy place. However, I was not impressed with the "Rarely Celebrated" menu selections that I chose. I am Portuguese and love stewed trip with beans ("Dobradas" in Portuguese). On a cold day it is one of those meals that warm you up and fills you when there is a nice glass of wine and fresh bread to go with it. Chops' attempt at it failed miserably. My advice to the chef is to take a trip to New Bedford and have some, and adjust your recipe accordingly. Also, I had tongue for the first time in my life. It tasted just like kielbasa. The service at the bar was very good. The price for these two items plus a Manhattan, glass of Tempranillo, espresso and Frangelico was $70. I went there for something unique and got something that was sub par.
