Bonaventure Resort and Spa Review

Nice front lobby and conference rooms. WiFi during a conference is almost nonexistent. The guest rooms and the overall resort is very overpriced for the quality. The carpet has several stains, the wall paint and curtains are old, there is no refrigerator in room, the ice machines are broken. The pool also ran out of towels by late afternoon. The main pool area is well kept and pretty, but the additional pools are rundown and have debris in the water.

I mostly hung out in the outside lounge area when the benches were to take over a gym. It was overall a nice experience since no one really bothered me. I could not level the gym up anymore thought the lapras was too strong.

My school decided to throw prom at one of their ball rooms. There was plenty of space and the experience was great.

I was there in March and I have to say I had a wonderful time there .. The staff was very nice and always smiling. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff was very attentive and helpful. I have to mention Mr. Royston is a great leader and I saw him in the lobby every morning and some nights when I was there. I would be back and let everyone know how awesome this place is!!!

We have offsite meetings there fairly regularly for groups of 30 or more (in half a dozen cases for groups of over 150) and they do a great job of providing the proper space, equipment support staff and meals.

Rooms need to be modernized. Unless of course you like that style in 2018.

The grounds are so pretty. The onsite spa was very nice. The staff is not very friendly, though.

First time I have ever stayed here. So far it's really a nice resort/spa.

Very nice, to return, we were only 2 nights, we did not take advantage of it very well, but comfortable and beautiful.

Nothing to do in the resort or around the resort they didn't have a mini fridge or microwave and the TV channels look like it was from the early 2000s

TERRIBLE. The rooms are nothing like the pictures. You cant get a hold of anyone on the phone while you are there. Now that I need to look into my billing statement, I still cant get ahold of anyone. stay far away!

Rooms were awesome. But their staff is easily overwhelmed. They are willing to work with you to make up for any mistakes. For example they lost our reservation. And they had nothing available unless we drop to a lower tier room. I accepted because they promised an upgraded room later on.

Place feels fairly outdated and in need of quite a bit of TLC, but overall not to bad.

The people working there were absolutely wonderful and helpful and the main building was beautiful. The food was cold and not very good at the pool bar and it closed an hour before it was supposed to. The main pool is beautiful, but the rest of the resort needs a lot of updating and cleaning. The room was really musty and the shower didn't drain well.there isn't a whole lot to do directly in the area, but there is a cute shopping area not too far away with a few restaurants.the ice machine didn't work, but they brought it within a reasonable amount of time when we called to get some.

Very disappointed in the service here. The pool stop giving out towels at 2 but the pool is open til 11. You can't ask housekeeping for extra towels they said no! As others have stated the decor is very outdated. They need a complete overhaul.

I was there for a work event. The place was nice for the occasion, good food, and excellent service. Parking can be a bit difficult though.

I was told I was getting a condo style room instead I got a room with no fridge no balcony no soda or snack machines any with in a 1/4 mile from my room not worth the money at all the room was clean tho just nowhere even close to what was described when I reserved I'm definitely disappointed and hoping the rest of my vacation o the cruse boat and my room in the Bahamas isn't nowhere like this

Beautiful hotel in the Everglades with great staff. The young lady in the sundry shop was amazingly helpful and enthusiastic. Some amenities like comforters could be more lush for the price, and the pool should be open beyond dusk, but otherwise absolutely perfect.

Toured this hotel for a possible wedding. Staff was enthusiastic and helpful, great place to be

Thiis place is absolutely amazing! Food, drinks, pool, service, rooms, all of it is wonderful.

Their downstairs restaurant is a rip off! Their so called desert is horrible!

I travel often for work have experienced great service at hotels and Bonaventure was not even close. It's an older hotel and we had few maintenance issue when we arrived. The hotel was over sold with a kids soccer tournament and two weddings. Returned after dinner and they had no parking. Had to valet and be shuttled to room, then walk back in the morning. Also was charged for a night after I had already canceled the extra night a week before. Chose to leave and pay, than stay another night. Would not recommend. They were not prepared and didn't care to make sure guests were taken care of.

There were several issues noticed. When I arrived in the room, I noticed armies of ants on the granite countertop, and crawling on the wall. When I opened the microwave, there were small ants EVERYWHERE. Upon closer inspection of the countertop, I saw globs of ketchup. Remember...this was upon my arrival. There were two beds in my room. One room appeared to have been slept in and simply spread over as I noticed strands of long blond hair on top of the comforter.

A fire alarm went off at 2:30 am the following morning. When we were allowed to return to the rooms, we were told not to use the elevator. At no time did staff inform hotel guests of other available elevators.

Proves all that glitters is not gold.

Was really excited to stay here as it looked gorgeous. The room and grounds looked nice. However, when I got a total from the room if had a brown stain and a hair on it. I was by the pool so I took another towel from the station, yet another brown stain from the clean towels. The room has dust everywhere too. Was not impressed by staff at the bar, we couldn't get frozen drinks to sit by the pool because they closed the outside bar and that's where the blender was. Staff refused to bring it inside. To top it off they were so slow making drinks and the bar wasn't even that busy.

It is always a beautiful place, but the food isn't that good and if you don't valet, you have to park across the street and walk into the venue. Not good after it has taken you at least 20 minutes to get there and you have paid over $60 to attend an event in their establishment.

The place is beautiful The rooms equally. There are gas station and places to eat well nearby.

Spacious rooms. Comfortable. My only issue is that the room door is on the outside. Nice pool bar and pool grotto area. Juliana and AD were excellent bartenders and made us feel at home. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place for social event. Bathrooms were very clean.

The facilities were clean and very spacious. Parking was a breeze but there are valets in case you need help. Hotel staff was friendly.

We just had a meditation retreat for nearly 200 people at this beautiful resort. The rooms are spacious, the resort has a nice walking trail, and the conference rooms are super large. Best part about it was the service! Scott, the front desk manager was very accommodating and assisted us with any issues. And of course Adriana, one of the best service persons in the hospitality, was always there for our needs. She had a smile on her face every time. She s truly a rock star and deserves a ton of credit.

A luxury all its facilities! I would give it many more stars. The hospitality they provide is great, the landscape is a dream

The resort is very nice and clean. The meeting rooms are nice and the people there are very very nice. The rooms are spacious and really made me feel at home. Not often that happens. Water pressure and hot water are good. The views along the nature walk are quite nice. Especially at night.

-Rooms are outdated, dusty and worn
-Phone in room didn't work (took a full day to get someone to come by)
-Front desk is very difficult to get a hold of, had to call for "reservations" to get someone on the line
-Receptionist have bottled water, gave one to a guest asking for towels before me, when I asked they said they don't give out complimentary water and said I can purchase it around the corner
-Not enough parking, had to park on other side of resort

Overall rude, unprofessional and overrated. Would much rather have my employees stay at Courtyard Marriott for the same rates when we visit from now on.

This is a nice location with friendly staff. The restaurant and bar are great as well. Would be 5 stars if the rooms were remodeled.

Excellent venue for a wedding. The resort is very beautiful and the staff are very helpful.

Not clean and very smelly old dirty carpet. Staff very nice and understanding.

Definitely not a 4 star Hotel as advertised. The rooms are old, stuffy, and completely inadequate! My room choice was not honored, there was only one set of wash towels, I had to move the entertainment center to plug up the TV, ceiling fan was full of dust, and the bed was uncomfortable. Seriously a 2 star Hotel please don't be fooled.

Front desk receptionist was very lovely with helping us find the conference room we were looking for and the hole place is general is beautiful

I visited this hotel to attend a wedding. The facility was well maintained and the staff was courteous.

Love this hotel, I've stayed there several times. The rooms are really nice and clean, stay is friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The poor swan needs a new mate. It's nice they put our the fresh water hose for her, she seemed to really like it.

Great staff, really nice accommodation, food was not super impressive but great if you are concerned about sodium intact. The space was a little dated but overall great experience.

I wish I had stayed at the Bonaventure resort and spa in it's Glory days. The resort is huge and pool is nice..... that's about it. This resort is really dated. Musky smells, furniture that's old. I asked the front desk if they could switch me to a room that had been renovated recently and they said that mine was.
Also something that ticks me off about these so called resorts are resort fees. Priceline said fees are included, resort says no. So I end up getting charged.

Room is very nice. Exceptional bathroom. Not a large variety of food choices offered but the servers and bartenders are very friendly.

For a family day 10 of us came here on a day pass to use the pool. $30 per person and you have the use of all the entire facility which is absolutely beautiful inside and out. My family all loved it and we have already booked our next stay. Thank you all!

Clean room, friendly check in, some neglected outdoor areas.

This hotel was atrocious. I had high hopes when I first walked into my room. It looked clean and had all the amenties needed for a comfortable stay but looks can fool you. The first night there the shower drain clogged so you're standing in inches of water almost overflowing onto the bathroom floor. The water sits there for at least 20 mintues after you're done and that starts to smell. The fan didn't work with the remote, the A/C unit just stopped in the middle of the night, the beds are like sleeping on a rock AND WORST OF ALL THERE WERE NATS IN THE SHOWER. No doubt because of the standing water from the shower. False advertising about their " complimentary breakfast". Oh and killing a spider, that was crawling on me, in the middle of the night really put this experience over the top of suckiness. The only goos thing about this hotel is the location.

Was there overnight and the room smelled like mold/mildew, bed was not comfortable and the room was not clean very dusty.. I wouldn t recommend staying in building 7 at all..

The entire check in was a joke. We had a reservation but they gave it away. We had to wait hours for rooms & keys. No ONE apologized for any thing. The entire staff needs to be retrained on customer service.

Great place for a hobby photographer such as myself

Resort very top. All staff very helpful, huge complex, delicious coffee (especially waffles and croissants), room with air conditioning very powerful, and a gym that gives from ten to zero in several expensive academies of Brazil (Olympic bars, bumper plates, kettle bells, etc).
They also lend a bike for sightseeing. The pool is delightful too.

The location was convenient since I was actually there for work. While I didn't get a chance to visit any of their restaurants, the menus looked amazing as did the spa and the offerings there. My room was comfortable with a large walk-in closet and a huge bathroom. The shower was a tad on the small side but it was gorgeous marble and had a big soaking tub. I had a few issues and was locked out of my room several times because my key card stopped working (I was very careful to keep it away from my phone) but security was always there to assist fairly quickly. My TV was not functioning properly and was extremely pixelated and a mini fridge would be a nice room addition (for those of us who have to store medication or might have a strict diet and bed to bring special food) since it was a suite and there is definitely room for one. The pool area was beautiful, a like on the chilly side, but there are lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas if you prefer to heat relax by we l the water without getting in. It was definitely one of the more enjoyable hotel stay I've had so I would recommend it .

While I can't say much good about the Bonaventure...Dawn at the bar was awesome. Staff seems friendly, but the grounds need updating and our room was never turned down, as well as a missed wake up call.

Not what we expected. Not sure it was worth $200.00 a night. Great location.

They were doing some remodeling but it was still a good place with good people.
