We are even more pleased with the service at Boardwalk Chevrolet...after driving the vehicle out the showroom. My husband, who got a Chevy Sonic RS feels like he is driving on a magic carpet from Aladdin. The car runs smooth and it is sturdy. No doubt we got a very good car that will take us places. Boardwalk Chevrolet service is OUTSTANDING, not only at the showroom but also after driving it out. Great Teamwork!
___________
Our visit to Boardwalk Auto Mall Chevrolet in Redwood City was welcoming, the showroom inviting and well kept. The pleasant and courteous staff gave excellent customer service from start to finish, making it top-notch, for which we are very appreciative!
Juan the Chevrolet Product Specialist, very professional and attentively listened to our needs. He showed us the vehicle that could fit our needs and continued his explanation about the car with clarity and answered all our questions about the vehicle. He made our decision to purchase a good experience.

I have one of the 2016 Silverados that have a vibration at highway speed boardwalk Chevrolet just blew me off and told me it was because I changed the tires when I tried to explain to the guy that tires don't last forever my truck has almost 27,000 miles that's pretty good for the crappy factory tires they put on... long story short I should have bought a Ford

As a rare purchaser of a new vehicle (my second new car in a dozen years), I was leery of the entire car buying process but the team at Boardwalk Chevrolet made it easy and pleasurable. I really appreciate that they worked as a team and everyone was so helpful. On the first reconnaissance trip (with no intention of purchasing that day), the newest member of the sales team, Dave, was friendly and helpful and took my daughter and I on a test drive in the exact vehicle I was most interested in. He then worked with the manager, Ben, to give me a cost breakdown. There was no pressure. 5 days later, my husband and I were greeted by Ian who immediately offered for us to take the vehicle for an extended test drive to our home to see if the car would navigate our steep driveway. On our return Ian was unavailable and handed us over to Reese who capably and affably answered our many questions about electric vehicles. Our detailed conversations with Reese and Ben proved that they are true car nerds who love the details. We decided to think it over and again, no pressure - just lots of facts. I was able to text with Ben about details and further questions and the next day we purchased our new Bolt EV and again, Reese and Ben were patient and very knowledgeable. Eddie, the finance person, also took the time to explain each piece of paper requiring signatures. I was very impressed at the teamwork, professionalism, knowledge, and low pressure of these men. I would recommend shopping at Boardwalk Chevrolet.
The entire process with Chevy was terrible.
The entire process with Chevy was terrible.
Buying the car took hours and we didnt end up with what we wanted. At the end they give you a heartfelt speech: "when you get the customer survey from Chevy you have to give us 5 stars, otherwise I'll lose my job and won't be able to support my family. Is there anything that will keep you from giving us 5 stars?"
We ended up not needing the car after a year and returned it. We were told by GM financial that we could return to any location any time.
At Boardwalk, Brian, the general manager, said they couldn't take our car because they "didn't have enough space. You'll have to come back before 4pm during the week." After making a bit of noise he looked outside and realized "oh, we do have space."
Update: after seeing this review, Brian called us and threatened not to accept our car if we didn't take the review down!

Started out with a good experience with this dealership, but that went straight to hell. There is no customer service. Contacted them three times in three weeks. Was told three times that someone would get back to me. Needless to say no one could be bothered to contact me. I guess if you're not buying a vehicle they could care less about the customer. Time to find a new dealership.
A follow up to the response:
It looks to be a canned response. If you look through the reviews, a lot of them are about the lack of response from customer service, or anyone from the dealership. If this was actually a concern something would have been done about it by now. I have contacted the dealership three times now with no one following up. Calling a fourth time is going to do what? No one cared the first three times I can't see anyone caring the forth time.

My past experience at auto dealers had always been anxiety provoking.
At BoardwalkChevy, I was surprised how Mike and the rest of the team
made it the best and easiest haggle free experience buying my 2018
corvette ever. Mike took me for a nice test drive and had me on my way quickly. I drove from Redwood City to San Diego and the next day Mike called me to asked if i made it home safely Also, thanks to Ben Kaupp for all that corvette c7 info you shared to a vette new be.
I will recommend Boardwalk Chevy to my friends.

Was shopping around for a new Tahoe LT and had previously been to 4 other dealers. This happened to be the last dealership I visited prior to making a final decision and to be honest-- we were already settling on the idea of buying it from another location because we couldn't find a Tahoe with the necessary features I wanted at a good price.
The showroom and inside the dealership is very clean and there was quite a few people there but the atmosphere wasn't loud. It gave off a very chill vibe which I liked.
Upon entering, Angelo (sales consultant) greeted us warmly and asked what he could help us with. Told him we were curious and wanted to check out a Tahoe LT we saw online. He pulled up the one we saw online to confirm which one we wanted to see, grabbed some keys, and took us to their storage lot where they store much of their inventory since the dealership lot is small.
When we pulled up to the Tahoe, she was beautiful. White exterior black interior. Black bow tie emblem. AND she turned out to be a Z71 model! Better suspension and overall made for off roading. I'm the kind who likes a clean and luxurious look but I do love a manly looking car--big and a little rugged at the same time.
Went back to the dealership to discuss our next move. The incentives and rebates were posted to expire on May 1, but they had informed us that it's actually to expire the end of the month (4/30) which was that day and it was only 2 hours prior to closing. First off- we weren't ready at that exact moment to purchase because we still had to finalize some things on the bank end. Secondly- if the expiration date says 5/1/17-- then that means they have to honor that even if they say it's actually 4/30/17. Mind you- all the Chevrolet dealership websites said 5/1/17. This whole conversation, Angelo was very understanding and never pressured us and was merely informing us and I understand he was doing his job. I never once felt that Angelo was just trying to sell. In fact-- he kept it real with us the entire time and was a joy to converse with. The sales manager Brian came over and we talked about the situation. He agreed and honored it. He drafted up an invoice for us to take to the bank to finalize anything needed on that end.
Monday 5/1 came and we went back around 2:30 in hopes of drafting up the contract, get back to the bank, then back to the dealer to take her home. Turns out Angelo went home sick but placed us in the expertise and care of Oliver. Oliver was amazing as well. Another chill, no pressure, vibe. We went to gas up the Tahoe, drive it around a bit, and look it over. We did find a problem with the 2nd row light. The ceiling panel was lop-sided and lower/drooping on the right side of the light and roof. Oliver would inform service as he or some of the other guys didn't want to try to fidget or pop it up themselves. He wanted to make sure it was done correctly. Oliver sat down with us and we starting signing papers. He fully explained what we were signing for and again this process was smooth.
Once Oliver's part was done, we stepped into the office of the Financial Manager-- Jonny. This part of buying a car is the most daunting and mentally draining but talking and dealing with Jonny was pleasurable! It was like talking to an uncle. He made us laugh and was very easy to talk to. Yes while it may be part of the job-- it also felt genuine like that's how Jonny is as a person. There were of course points in the process where Jonny had to do his job but he never pushed us to the point of annoyance. If we said no it's okay two times-- he stopped asking and we kept it moving. We really appreciated that.
Tuesday 5/2: Came back around 4pm and Oliver greeted us and showed us my Tahoe. She was detailed and cleaned. Service was able to fix the roof and light issue! We finalized the exchange with Jonny.
Overall, a car buying experience in general can be long, tiring, and even annoying but the guys here made it very enjoyable. Shout out to the amazing service of Angelo, Brian, Jonny, and Oliver!

Good service and comfortable place (given how long it usually takes to buy a car)
They put a movie on for the kids. Brought us many cars to look at. We discussed all the options and made our purchase. Overall, good experience!
Area for improvement: need to propose the right price right away. Saves time for all of us.

* Update 4/10/18: called four times to get tire aligning. Was transferred to four different individuals, left four messages - no reply. One star review for customer service.
I visited this place four months before I bought my Chevy, and ordered one after discussing estimated future financing costs. Four months later, they denied having discussed pricing and had a much higher price. I will not be coming back to this place in the future.

Well first I want to Thank Anthony for making the purchase super easy.
I was in the market for a chevtolet bolt and found a good lease deal on their website so I arranged a time with Anthony to come and lease it, but the night before I changed my mind and decided I want a volt. They had several and chose a nice certified pre-owned one at a good price. Anthony is extremely knowledgeable about the chevy cars and knew literally everything about the volt.
The whole finance process took no more than 1.5 hours and upon the pick up of the car Anthony had filled up the tank and washed the car. He also cleaned the windows inside and out. Talk about excellent service. So if you're looking at purchasing a car definitely ask for Anthony; you won't regret it.

This dealership is nice. We had a great time with her family was here. I found a car I really like but I keep it for star because the salesman never called us back because I m not in a rush will probably go to a different dealership check it out but they had a big room with all the cars and the kids had a great time posing in the cars And making goals to own one of these vehicles once they re old enough.

The worst experience I had dealing with Chevy dealership. Terrible ( non-existent ) customer service, even after the car was damaged after the service completion. spent more that half day for a 1 hour service call, and the work is still to be completed. AVOID this dealership like a plague.

We learned that in March 2018, if you had a Japanese car, you can have $2500 off as a rebate for leasing a volt yesterday, the last day of the sale. We got a quote with Oliver, and rushed to the dealer to get it. He is a very knowledgeable, caring, and devoted salesman. We have children with us, so when he showed the car for my husband, I had to watch the kids. Then Oliver took his time to show me the car again. When my husband did the paperwork, Oliver turned on some cartoons for my kids so that they could be occupied. He also cleaned the car, charged it to a full tank of gas, and showed me some more features such as the car parking itself. It took about three hours in total for the entire service. When we left the door, it was past 9pm.( All other employees were off their work by 7:00pm.) Oliver was still very patient, making sure everything is fine and waved us goodbye. I am very satisfied for the service that he provided.

Peter Owens was amazing. He made the process less painful than a root canal. I purchased the car sight unseen and delivered, it was flawless. I love my new BMW Z4 35i !! If I could, I would give 10 stars. This place I highly recommend. Also a thank you to Edward Harvey and Benjamin Kaupp . Thank you, Anna T. Kent, WA

Make sure you test drive the car before buying it and also make sure it doesn t have Auto stop!! I didn t know the Chevy Malibu, my brother helped me finance, comes with auto stop where the car literally turns off on almost every stop. It s honestly embarrassing and very frustrating. The car sometimes shuts off before i come to a complete stop at the light or when I'm trying to park! I talked to one of the sales manager and he said all he can do is transfer me to service to see if they can take off the future. or i can trade in the car and pay the difference! I ended up choosing to be transferred to service, and the service department transferred me to Mazda!!

By far the WORSE dealer I have ever been to. From sales to parts to service I will NEVER be purchasing a vehicle from these people. The experience is too long to type up but if someone wants any details please let me know and I will give you every detail. Please don't purchase a vehicle here, take your hard earned money somewhere else.
Oh, I'm giving 1 star only because I can't give less stars.
Very unprofessional!!
Very unprofessional!!
I called ahead of time after searching online for an Orange color Corvette. They confirmed that they had one. I set an appointment to meet a salesperson and drove 40 miles across the bay. When I got there 15 mins earlier they told me that they didn t have the orange one and that it was in transit to be delivered. So then I said ok show me a car similar to the spec of the orange one. After unlocking one of the cars he went off to help someone else. When he returned I asked him for a test drive and in an unprofessional way he began to tell me they don t just allow test drives for anyone coming in wanting to rev the engine and spin the wheels only to say I ll think about it.
They have no respect for peoples time. First lied about the car, even sent me a link to the orange corvette, then they insulted me. The ignorant salesperson didn t even see me driving in his dealership with a $140k Mercedes-Benz S class. And little did he know I could write a check then and there for 10 corvettes.
This dealership needs to show respect and professionalism because this cost them a sale of a car . I will never buy from them.
It s not about them refusing a test drive, rather, it s about the ill mannered, disrespectful and humiliating way they said it.

Juan worked with me for a couple of days to get all the details just right for my new Traverse. I was grateful he had the ability and patience to message me throughout the day with information so I could multitask my work and getting this car at the same time. Nancy was down to earth and a great help with showing me the details of the Traverse once I arrived at the dealership. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new Chevy Traverse! Thank you guys and stay safe!!

#1 Arrived 5 minutes early for oil change appointment.
There are no signs nor anyone to tell you where to go.
I parked in front of the service area. As soon as I came in I was asked to move my car or it would get "hit" even though it was parked. Thrn please have either signs or personnel to take care of customers. The service rep was Ramon. Not polite. Even though I indicated when I made the online appointment I would wait for the car, Ramon said it would take 3 hrs. I agreed as I had no choice. I had mi laptop with me.
Waiting area is unwelcoming. No coffee, no water.
WITHOUT EXPLANATION, my car was ready in 1 hr. Instead of 3.
While I waited with another customer, it was annoying to have to hear Ramon and the other rep talking about women and people they did not like as we could clearly hear them all the way to the waiting area. Very inappropriate in both English and Spanish.
Last but not least, my car was due for tire rotation. When I asked Ramon if this was done, he assured me it was done. He pointed to my service receipt.
Whrn I got home I checked my tires and the tire rotation WAS NOT DONE. My car only had 8K miles, so I could tell very easily.
Terrible!

There's a lot i a can say about my experience with Boardwalk Chevrolet, overall i had a great time. i already knew what i wanted after over a year of research on my Chevy Colorado ZR2 - My Sales person Jordan Vanclef and i met on line and than in person, she is a 0 pressure sales person and extremely knowledgeable of the product - AMAZING She let me test drive how i wanted to and put me in the exact truck i wanted. i can go on and on about Jordan and how awesome is, but find out for yourself and buy a vehicle from her. :)
PS. the rest of the guys there were great as well Ben, Ian and Ed!

I left my wife's Volt for service on Friday and I was told it will take until Tuesday to do the 45k service + small problem with the check engine light. We had plans to go out of town this weekend so I had to figure out alternate means of transportation. On our way out they call us and they tell us the vehicle is ready. We told them to leave the car on the parking lot so we can pick it up on Sunday when we get back. I go to pick it up and I find the front license plate bent. See the photo attached.
They charged me $1250 for 45k service. For that kind of money I expect better customer service.

They've had our car for two weeks while they wait for a part. Just give us our car! They're unhelpful on the phone giving me no answers, but that's only after I demand to speak to an actual person instead of getting transferred to an answering machine. Are they expecting to keep my car for a month? At the very least, they should offer to pay for a rental car. We're $500 out for rentals and Lyfts and borrowing friends' cars. This is unbelievable.
UPDATE: It's been a month since we took our car in. (Sept 30 to Oct 30) We finally got a call last Friday that said it would be ready for pickup and that we could come anytime. So we hitched a ride there on Saturday morning, and the car was not put together. Instead we were very rudely told that it was still an open repair ticket. We had to find another ride home without our car and no promise of when we could get it back. The anti-service agent that we spoke with told us to call Ramon on Monday. So we did that. No answer. No return call. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, several times a day. No answer, no return call.
I understand that GM is on strike, but the service is absolutely horrible. We will never be doing business with Boardwalk Chevrolet again.

I brought my 2016 Silverado in for routine service 2 weeks ago. This is the same $5Ok truck I bought there in July 2016. I picked it up when it was rainy afternoon, but a day later when weather was good I noticed a big scratch on the passenger rear panel. I called to notify the advisor (Rex, and he said he spoke with Joe), and there was nothing they could do about it and they wouldn't take responsibility for it. This place lost a customer and future sales. I was planning on a $80K Corvette down the road, but due to their disregard of doing the right thing I will no longer buy from a place that cannot take care of people's property.

Took a vehicle in for service and showed a very clear issue to the service representative. The shifter would make loud popping sounds when going into certain gears. He acknowledged it. Got a call later saying it was normal. Now, I've had vehicles with 400k miles that did not do this and this vehicle did not do it new. It is NOT normal. The first time I took it in they lied and said they fixed it when they hadn't (I had showed the service rep that time the issue as well). I asked if they compared it to another vehicle and they said they didn't so you can only wonder how they would know if it's normal.

Derek was awesome! This guy was so smooth he could sell snow cones to an Eskimo. But In all seriousness they made me feel very comfortable and they were very accommodating. Bought a 2018 ram 1500 eco diesel and a used 2015 Honda Accord. They made the financing very smooth and I was in and out in no time. They even gave me a good deal on a trade in. I ll be going back for my next vehicles. Mr Clarkson made the financing process very easy and helped to keep my 3 year old daughter very happy and entertained.

I live in Phoenix and purchased a used 2018 Corvette Grand Sport in September 2019 from Boardwalk. Salesman was sufficiently attentive during the process but sometimes hard to reach. Flew out to finish the paperwork and drive the car home. Despite everyone knowing I needed to register the car in Arizona, I ended up with California plates (2 months later) and an electronic title that 3 months later I'm still fighting to get a copy of, so I can register the car in Arizona. Dealership has gone completely unresponsive after the sale, despite setting this whole mess up in the first place. No amount of phone calls or emails are returned. I should have purchased elsewhere.

I took a Chevy 3500 diesel van here for service only to be turned away at the door because their service department is not equipped for heavy duty vehicles. The service manager directed me to the Chevy dealer in Burlingame - Putnam Dealership. They also don t work much on diesels. I wish the Chevy Boardwalk dealership would add these facts to their website - I had to take a day off of work only to be redirected to a different dealership that could meet my needs.

Got in at 10:05 for an oil change and was done in an hour. Very happy with the fast service. The tech did a great job on the oil change, no oil spill or oil burning smell afterwards. Had my Chevy Equinox serviced about 2 weeks ago. Once again boardwalk exceeded my expectations in both the quality and the range of service given. I feel comfortable knowing that my car is in such great hands. Thank you for taking care of all my concerns, like the pesty spider that was living in one of my side mirrors. My car also came back spotless and prefectly clean.

I was so impressed with the sales person, Mike Little. He was always calm and kind. Some of other in his team made a big mistake to me. He was willing to help me on behalf of his team member. He has never shown unpleasant emotion or made me uncomfortable. If I buy another car, I may go to him directly and will trust his quote. Thanks, Mike!
