Do not stay here. Had reservations a couple of years ago and it was awful and disgusting. Room was filthy, tub had black rings, the balcony door handle broke off in my hand and the list goes on. It smelled awful. Didn't even attempt to stay. Demanded refund. When I got to other hotel the owner told me he had already rented 5 other rooms to others that left this place. Can't say how awful it was enough!!!
Did not stay. Paid for a room but did not use it. The rooms might have been grand but the building was so dark and deserted that we were not comfortable going in. Should have accepted the offer to look at the room before paying. Learning experience.
Me and my son just drove down to the beach in this is where we stopped didn't know what we was getting pretty nice for just me and him full kitchen nice bath staff was very nice a lot of pools in and out and jacuzzis and we also enjoyed the workout room

To replace because they can t pay for a key card like normal hotels. Claim they are a resort but all the pool chairs are moth eaten. The carpet is green and probably from the 70s, room and hotel extremely dirty and the staff is very rude. Not to mention the whole place smells like cat piss. A motel would be a better option.

I have stayed once before at the Boardwalk for a business meeting and they automatically upgraded our room as it was the slower season. This time I decided to take our grandkids to Myrtle Beach and because of the awesome service on my previous visit I thought I'd try it again. Well it was 4th of July week and I messed up the reservation. When I arrived and realized the error the staff was so accommodating. I thought we would have to find another hotel but the staff here went out of there way to make sure our vacation wasn't ruined. Needless to say I was so thankful. The room was beautiful, clean and in a great location. Our grandkids loved the pools and the beach. The location was so perfect as we could walk to whatever we needed. I highly recommend the Breakers and with this type of customer service I have no desire to try any other resort. The best part is this resort has rooms for every budget.
The condo itself wasn t that clean especially the hallway and elevator and the smell wasn t that great. The Jacuzzi was dirty and wasn t kept up at all. The only part I really loved was the location and the ocean view from the balcony. I feel they should be a little more selective on whom they let stay. I definitely won t be staying again.
Cheap Cheap Hotel! Due to late thinking we unfortunately did not have very much of a selection when visiting Myrtle so unfortunately had to choose this hotel! Please listen to the reviews! The rooms are outdated, as soon as we walked into the door we both looked at each other and realized what a mistake we had made! Very dingy hotel we were scared to take off our shoes, I even showered with my sandals on. There was a mirror on the side wall with cracks all over it , on top of that we got a "non-smoking" room which had the smell of smoke all around it, when we informed the hotel they gave us some freshner. That's not the point ! If you want non-smoking I'm almost certain that means you don't want to smell smoke! On top of that based on the other reviews I've been paranoid constantly checking for roaches every second. The elevator is sketchy as idk what, it opens before the cart even stops onto the floor so you basically have to jump off of it and the first floor entrance reaks of weed! Bottom line if you don't have to stay here DONT! The only reason this hotel is getting two stars is because it's right on the beach.
Had a last minute decision on Wednesday to go to Myrtle Beach and We stayed in the North Tower of the Boardwalk....This was the WORST place I have ever stayed. The staff at check-In was very rude. Both days we didn t have hot water to take showers and when I called on Saturday they were rude and it took maintenance a while to get there. We were told we have to run the hot water for a while til it gets hot. Ran the hot water on Sunday for about 30 minutes and it never got hot . Manager was so very rude about it too! I have never stayed anywhere that we didn t have hot water. The building had an awful odor, the elevator was ridiculous!! We were on the 8th floor and we would have to hold the elevator button down if we wanted to go up. Otherwise the elevator wouldn t come down. The inside of the building looked and smelled disgusting!! Was told I would lose one night deposit if we didn t keep registration . Guess that s how they can stay in business by ripping people off. They DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GETTING ANYMORE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!! Shame on how the manager and staff treat the people who helps them keep a job. The price they quoted me was completely different from what I had to pay and I had to pay more than what they quoted me on the phone on that Wednesday when I called . Really thinking about reporting the elevator and calling the BBB on the crooked people who own and operate the motel. The pics they have online are of the middle building which is so deceiving!! Won t be going there EVER AGAIN!!
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Its dirty, lights were broken, sinks were clogged, the TV was ancient, you could hear EVERYTHING going on outside. I went during an off season and you'd think they would have time to fix these issues, but I guess not.
Biggest dump on earth.... outdated, weed smoke filled hallways, food crumbs in room, 2 towels, and entry door that had been broken it too... If you wanna hang out with trailer trash and drug heads then this sh hole is for you...
Booked this place thru air bnb and what a disappointment it was. This place COULD have been an awesome spot, but there are so many low class/ghetto people staying here that make this place a garbage place. For the past three nights, my babies and I have not been able to sleep bcuz there is a motorcycle gang that sits in the main parking area above the tower and revs there engines over and over AND OVER again!!!! Till 4 in the morning. Also blasting music. I ve never had such a horrible experience before, and I have been to Atlantic City NJ plenty of times...this place is horrible! I had to call the cops twice the past two nights bc the management office doesn t respond to anything when u don t book directly thru them. These same ppl appear to be like 50+ deep at this resort and they stay in the back of the place and smoke marijuana and stink up the whole place. I am embarrassed to have to put my family thru this. I was fooled my the good reviews on air bnb. Do not come here, stay in North Myrtle Beach. This place disgusts me!!!
The hotel is actually pretty crappy. The rooms are a bit dirty. The wifi signal isnt very good and the Internet is slow. They actually have old 90s style CRT TVs that are standard definition and of course don't work with any HDMI devices. The customer service was pretty spotty. They kept trying to come in while we weren't there and we think they went threw our stuff. The only saving graces was the incredible beach view and proximity and the decent price.
Loved the beach access but the cost was more than other units, no breakfast & the same towels for 4 days.
Awesome resort. My wife and I stay at The Boardwalk Resort at least 4 times a year. It's on the main strip in the middle of everything. There's several ATM'S around and also, corner stores, gas stations, Walmart is like 10 min. away, the myrtle beach convention center is like 5 min. away. Our rooms are always clean and spacious. The service is always great and the staff are very nice and knowledgeable about the area.
It's still warm enough with a slight cool breeze, makes it a perfect time to enjoy! Plenty of options for dining. Walking distance to everything. Perfect with balcony doors open 24/7 just the sound of waves. It is not noisy even late at night, not too busy. Perfectly loud ocean waves! Priceless!
Rooms are way over priced for what you get. My husband and I found used needles inside our phone book. When I called the front desk the lady suggested they were used for insulin and continued to argue with me in defense even after I stated that i have an insulin pump. The vending machines all take your money, the full amount. However the rooms other than that were very clean, view was GREAT, clean juccczi and pool variety, and $18 phone calls. $18 per phone call no matter the lenghth.

My favorite pool and north beach entrance. Its small and quaint but perfect for multiple bookings and the deepest pool on the strip, so it gets quiet and enjoyable.
Can definitely look sketchy, but the maintenance people are nice. The check in people werent the happiest a couple times, but overall, an enjoyable stay. The outside makes up for the outdated inside. No one is going to be inside anyway...

My visit at Boardwalk memorial day weekend was the worst stay ever. The rooms are very out dated nothing like pictures on website. The mangers don't have proper customer service skills. The kitchen sink in room was stopped up maintenance had to come to room three times, found roach in bathroom, paint peeling from wall,light fixtures hanging from ceiling, dust in all corners of room I could go on & on. This stay @ Boardwalk this weekend cost $700 &it wasn't worth it @ all.
They have four Towers only two of the towers actually look decent the tower I stayed in need tremendous updating and Exterminating.

My husband and I went the day after Christmas stay until Monday. The guy at the desk was rude, my husband was joking with me, the guy jumped into our chat and was rude to my husband. Strike one.. He then stuck us in the north building, when we called 10 minutes before asking did they have rooms in the main tower.. Yes.. so they sold out in 10 minutes and us riding down the strip.. RIGHT..
The room was in a hole.. the room was okay but nothing like we got before and not what we wanted. I should had turned around right them and there and left.
The tub was not the nice Jacuzzi we got before it was smaller than the one at home, we had not hot water and was told to wait 25-30 minutes for it.. it finally got hot. We had to walk in the cold to another building to get the to pool and hot tub. which was not hot and the entire place was sad. Not plants not color, no poo; towels.. It was a very sad place.. Not the same place we stayed in 2011.

Well... we went to 3 different towers and the rooms were HORRIBLE!!!
My shoes were sticking to the carpet in one room... North Tower smell so strong of air freshener it literally made your eyes burn. BUT you quickly understand why as you progress into the rooms that smell like mildew and stale cigarette smoke.
Now ... as if this wasn't enough, upon returning to the front desk I am greeted by the rudest manager I think I have ever encountered.
I requested a refund, and was interrupted numerous times with the manager quoting me the cancellation policy.
Seeing this conversation wasn't going anywhere good, I simply left and found a more suitable place to stay during my visit.
Well if paying a deposit for a room that wasn't clean enough for my dog to stay in meant ending this horrific situation... so be it!
NO.... I am now on the phone with my credit card company disputing the FULL charge for the room on my account.
Save yourself the frustration !!!! By pass this establishment!

Me and my friends werr 18 that went on a sprjng break trip. We got woke up at the hotel with the manager banging on out door in the early morning accusjng of us being in the hot tub (they didnt check the cameras). Because we were not in there and they went through all of our cuboards and kitchen things loojing for illigal things. When she didnt find anythi ng she told us that our room was disguisting and ir needs cleaned. Very outdated and very bad customer service. Also had to pay a deposit off of my card and then play the rest in cash wich seemed very odd.
Maid service never cleaned bathroom, I had to buy my own tissue and soap... It really look like the Bates motel. I'm speaking about the old bldg. Don't know how the upgraded bldg looks. I will never stay here again
We rented adjoining rooms for a week through VRBO. The pictures on VRBO were outdated. The furniture in the room was tired, and in many places broken or stained and worn. The rooms were also infested w roaches. The hotel does have several pools hot tubs and a lazy river and the view is very nice. The cleanliness issues and vermin however will keep us from returning.
The room was supposed to be non smoking and the room was poor maintenance the toilet pipe had a leak instead of maintenance fixing it a rag was tired around the pipe.When I call to complain and ask for another room, was told none was available. I moved to another motel and going to dispute the bill on my credit card
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT STAY HERE...This was the worst place I have ever stayed..... When we arrived there was a problem checking in. Didn't mind that. Got to the room and dropped our bags and went out for the evening. Our room came with a kitchenette, so the first night we decided to just cook in the room, but apparently the ovenwas broke, cause within exactly 5 mins of cooking the corndogs, not only was the corndog burnt but the sick it was on was so burnt it just crumbled into pieces. There was 6 of us and we all needed to shower for the next evening but the shower was so clogged up we had to wait 15-20 mins for the tub to drain so someone else could shower. We went to get on the elevator and the door shut them opened then shut again and again so we had to take the stairs from the 9th floor. We were put in a building with an empty pool inside, my son rode the elevator with a maintenance guy that ask him if we were staying in that building and my son said yes so the guy said I don't know why they put y'all in this building they only put people in this building when they don't have anywhere else to put them, when I said something to the receptionist all she said was its an old building.There are some racist people again whites, when we were checking in these 2 black guys came in cause they had reserved a room and there was a problem with the way they reserved the room so the black women working there both came to help and he was put in the new building with a kitchen and ocean front also. We stayed there once before about 3 years ago and it was good, so when I came home I told everyone I knew to stay at the boardwalk resort, but now I'm gonna have to start telling them to stay anywhere but the boardwalk. I will never stay at this place again.

So this is the first time I came to myrtle beach and I will be honest Iam truly disappointed. My personal opinion is this place is a cesspool . This would be great for college kids or a couple on a strict budget. If you have a family stay away the view is nice but the rooms are small outdated the elevators smells like piss and funk , remind me of Brooklyn projects. I listen to a friend that swears by Airbnb and I got hustle never again !!!

Never been so disappointed in service in my entire life, I used this hotel all the time for Roller Derby events on and off season. I booked almost three months in advance only to get here and find my room was incorrect. Instead of fixing the issues they blammed it on me the customer after I clearly stated what I wanted and got something else. Also the manager Jennifer is really unprofessional as well as rude and distasteful. You don't treat returning customers with that kind of attitude especially when you hold a manager position. I will not return here, sad to say after three years of using this hotel it's time to find a more friendly and customer based. I will tell all those I recommended to never use this place! Customers come first!!!!
The hotel staff are extremely nice. You get what you pay for. Inexpensive stay for a 1 quality room. The beds are not comfortable. The application are outdated and barely worked. The hallways are dirty. The TV quality is extremely poor & no HD. Boardwalk is a few blocks away. Food, alcohol store & souvenir shops are within walking distance Hotel is right off the beach that might be the BEST I can say about my quality. I will not stay here when I visit in the future.
Service sucks! The rooms are extremely outdated. The elevator in any tower except the main tower is extremely rickety. The receptionists didn t warn us about our towers elevator until they already accepted payment for our room. They then lied and said that they offered us a different room in the main tower, which they most certainly did not, they even told my grandfather that they didn t have any vacancy. I ve been coming here for 17 years and this year will be the last. We always bring our entire family and from here on out we will take our money elsewhere.

Make sure you book in the main tower, it's much newer. The 2 star ratings are from the smaller, much older neighboring buildings. If you can get a unit on the south end some have 2 balconies..sunny all day.
There's not a lot of amenities here but you can get a good clean room, pools and hot tubs, and direct beach access, walking distance to downtown.

My nephew and I visited on Aug 2-5 rooms are very antiquated. The only redeeming quality was the beds, they were very comfortable. I'm not looking for luxury when I go to the beach but this was the worst hotel I have stayed in. I lost my key which was a regular key and not a card key. I was charged a 5.00 fee for replacement and charged 2.00 deposit for 2 wristbands to there pools which sucked because the one closest to our room was closed the whole stay. We didn't want to walk all the way down to there other buildings. Overall I would not stay there again nor would I recommend anyone to stay there. Overpriced for what I received.
The rooms and all the facilities need to be renovated. The building that I touched the carpets in the hallways were very dirty. Very disappointed to bring my family to this place.

Today is my last day at Boardwalk and I have loved it!! Their customer service is fabulous, maid service is fabulous, and the rooms are fabulous! I've always been very low-maintenance so the location alone has me sold. I could care less if the room was perfect, but it was more than expected! For the price of this place, it's great. They also provide free breakfast (to those of you complaining that you have to walk to go eat it -- it's literally a block away) and they serve breakfast until 2pm! Absolutely great, and just what my boyfriend needed to endure work until we come back! Which we definitely will be! Bummed to be checking out tomorrow :-(

The heat in the living room did not work sure was glad the bedroom did. The hair dryer did not work either so when I washed my hair I had to wait till it dried naturally before I could go out. I did call before coming down to see if I needed to bring anything. When we first got here there was 3 elevators only one worked. I am not sure if i will come here again.
let's give this place a new name. Let's call it the Marijuana hotel. Room not terrible bedding was nice heat kept us in a lot of the stay but that was tough to do with the constant Marijuana smell coming from the stove vent and the outside. Spent a lot of time open both doors to blow the smell out which of course meant the AC useless. So basically I found that we paid around 500$ for three days worth of headache every time we went to the room. Contacted owner, front desk, maintenance two times they seemed uninterested. So if you partake this is the place cause doesn't look like they care.

After reading some of the reviews I was really scared about walking into my room and staying for a few days. Very friendly staff when we arrived. Me and a friend stayed in the South Tower. After arriving and settling in, our room was nice for the price. Great ocean view!! So needless to say I felt much better after the first night. Only bad thing I will say is that you aren't given a Do Not Distrub sign, they don't have them. So every morning I had to wake up at a different time and leave my room so housekeeping could come in and make my bed and take the trash out. On vacation, which most people are, no one wants to have to wake up at different times every morning and have to leave. The lady came & knocked on my door and I opened it, obviously just waking up, she said are you ready for me to clean, no ma'am, we just woke up, well I have to do it and I'm on a time schedule. It's MY vacation, MY money, & MY time. Pretty ridiculous and really rude!! Also the staff when checking out weren't too friendly either. Nice rooms, rude housekeepers. Great place to stay if you wanna get up every morning & have to leave for the maid so she can just make your bed!!! Crazy crazy

Roaches!!! Big ones little ones We've always stayed at the hotel for several years for annual family vacation however this "hotel" has went downhill a lot. Stayed in the main tower which is newest building, the beds were uncomfortable. The stove was very outdated really the entire room was outdated. Sitting on the edge of the bed a giant roach crawls out the air conditioner in the room and later that night some smaller ones were seen coming out the power outlet in the kitchens. Room smelled like feet and was not the cleanest looks like previous ppl opened a soda and it spewed out all over the first bedroom door in a suite and housekeeping failed to see that. As far as the second room in the suite (living room) the couch bed was gross and smelling and the wall bed was uncomfortable also. Jacuzzi tub in second bathroom had low water pressure so it took forever to fill up. Toilet was broken in the other bathroom. Elevators were crappy in the main tower and parking garage Which has no mirrors at all VERY DANGEROUS!! Needless to say after being a longtime customer (15+ years) we will no longer choose this hotel as a main choice
My time at the Boardwalk is normally really good, however this time the 3rd night i was there iwas ate up by to me looked like bed bugs and the only people in the room who had the bites where myself and the other person who slept in the bed, so from wednesday to sunday when we checked outwe slept on the floor cause we weere told there where no more rooms we could move to. So i addressed the problem to the front and because they checked and said there was nothing there they have not even offered to give me and money back or nothing.I even went to my doctor back home and its being treated as bed bug bites. So i paid almost $1000 to sleep on the floor. Also our remote would not work to the T.V. and it took them 2 days to get someone up there to fix it. I WOULD WILL not stay here again and i will make sure my family and friends know how they are and treat their guest.
Worst hotel in Myrtle Beach. This place should be shut down. 1st off the rooms are outdated. 2nd off there was no running water in the toilet. We had to use the coffee pot to fill the toilet tank to flush it. When we called front desk they said maintenance was gone and they couldn t do anything until the morning. 3rd off there were outlets that were hanging out the wall. We won t mention water bugs or roaches. When checking out the front desk lady was super rude and very unprofessional. She shouldn t have a job. She must not no what customer service is. We checked in Sunday December 23 had issue prior thought we would stay again give it another try. Came back this time to $30 City of MB Market Fee never heard of this one never was charged this before. Christmas Eve nothing to do of course but got changed went down to the pool along with 6 other people standing trying to get the gate unlocked. Called the office the lady said the pool was closed because maintenance was gone she was pregnant and could not come unlock it???? So if your on bed rest why is she working and she also said she was leaving at 11pm would not be back until 7am nobody would be on property? Well the reason we stayed was for Christmas and Christmas Eve with everything closed the only thing to do was the pool which was what we wanted to do!!! But it was shut down also with no heads up on that and if we had known that we would have stayed somewhere else. Was told management said close it down. 6 very unhappy people. Merry Christmas

If you are looking for a room to barricade yourself in for vacation, not recommended. I like being out and about so location, can't beat it. Yes it needs a major face lift, however you get what you pay for, not entirely outrageous rates though, I've seen worse (bar harbor). Services are ok. I think we'd come back
