Do not recommend The beds are awful! You can feel every spring. The toiletries in our room were all used and not replaced. No toilet paper, left over coffee in the coffee maker and to top things off they charged us twice for the room. We had a medical service dog and they charged us $150 for it to be there. We had to fight to get that removed. The hotel itself is beautiful the staff at Jessies grill are awesome but the front desk staff wasn t very friendly and housekeeping was rude. They tried coming in our room at 7:30 am and every hour after that with knocking. Very disappointed

Unprepared for a busy weekend with the chess tournament - didn't have the room we requested, room service took over an hour and tried to rescind late checkout offer. Good amenities and service, so be better prepared next time!

I travel 80% of the year for work in the Midwest. Been doing my job for over 7 years so i would say my reveiw is legit. Slow, slow, slow restaurant service! Also room had an interesting scent. Won't be staying here again.

We were there for a banquet only. The facility is good for corporate events. Avoid ordering pizza and pasta. They were equivalent to high school cafeteria food on nicer plates. We couldn't believe it was Marriott.

This hotel is fancy, but the location leaves something to be desired. It's situated by a train station where train horns sound at least every hour, but it feels like even more than that. It's constant torture and unbelievably annoying. Stay elsewhere if you want a good night's rest.

Victor Scouten, the asst. front desk manager has been tremendously helpful in my company's constant travels to this hotel. We have dozens of individuals who stay here on a weekly basis and Victor has always been there to assist us whenever we need any special requests, whether its at this hotel, or for other stays at other hotels. He gives great advice and shows a lot of enthusiasm.

I was there for a educational convention. The staff was extremely helpful. Even though a lot of people were coming and going, they were very friendly and accommodating. They even provided change for me when I needed some.

Having hosted multiple conferences at this location, I was shocked and dismayed that the food at our most recent conference was absolutely terrible. From moldy buns to sugared strawberry sauce served as "fresh strawberries," to incedibly dry, overcooked salmon we were disappointed at every meal. Meals had been prepared even earlier than scheduled dinner time and could not be redone once served because the chef had already left, indicating food is not intended to be served freshly cooked but instead kept in warmers. What's worse is that we were not offered a significant discount for the poor quality of food. We will not return for future conferences.

We had family in from out of town for the holidays, and suggested the Marriott, as it was close to our house, we've heard great things about it, and it listed a hot tub as an amenity (very important to our guests). As expected, the service was fantastic and the hotel still immaculate and absolutely beautiful. The one disappointing thing was that the hot tub was drained and under maintenance while they were there. Our family was pretty disappointed, as that was the factor that encouraged them to pick it over a different hotel across the street. I still highly recommend this hotel for all of the amenities and location (basically in the heart of ISU campus and Uptown Normal). I love how it's connected to the Normal Theater, and how it's within walking distance of the train station, Children's Discovery Museum, and all of the little shops, restaurants, and roundabout that make Uptown so cool. As a side note: this hotel does not offer free breakfast and from my understanding there is a nightly parking fee for the connected parking garage. They do have a nice on-site restaurant and bar and the parking is still reasonable and convenient.

This was a nice place for a few years after it opened. Now I can't believe the Marriott name is on the door. I have been there almost every year since then at least once. Now I am told the manager who works for a licensee of a licensee of Marriott is very difficult to deal with and I can believe it. My wife and I love hotels and are generally pretty forgiving people but WOW...all the stuff they are blaming on COVID is nuts. Setting aside the limited COVID food service because everyone has that, our problems were mainly front desk and housekeeping. We had a 3 day stay and we were not advised until after a number of problems that there is no service except by request DURING a stay. This is still SOLD as a full price/service Marriott. No newspapers at all for sale OR otherwise. Room had only decaf coffee and 2 tiny creamers when we first went in but we didn't know until it mattered the next morning. One set of shampoo and conditioned for 2 people. The next morning we asked that the room be made up while we were out at 0800. We came back at 3 pm and nothing. We asked because we needed towels to get ready for an event. Finally the Engineer brought some towels so we gave him our usual housekeeping tip. The next day on the way out I asked for the room to be made up ASAP after 8:15 am and was told "Yes, I'll let housekeeping know." Well at 130 pm no one had been there. I asked the front desk guy to transfer me to housekeeping and he said OK but it never happened. When I called again and asked for towels, coffee, trash service, toiletries, toilet paper and general service he said they are short-staffed and they aren't servicing "stay-overs" which we were first told on the second day of a 3 day stay. Not when we booked, not when we asked for and were promised service the first two times but AFTER we had been asking for 2 days. NO accommodation for the shortfalls at all. Finally after being promised a call from housekeeping several times I heard a knock at the door and "Housekeeping". I jumped up to let her in and she had sprinted through the staff door after leaving a plastic laundry bag with a set of towels and one set of shampoo. No coffee or any of the stuff to go with it. I went downstairs to get the coffee and that is when I was told there's no service. I found out later from friends who know the people there (We are from Normal) that the front desk guy who handled things so badly was actually the maintenance man because they only have about 5 people total working there. So not really HIS fault. He's an untrained kid. This GM must be a piece of work. We never actually saw him. Friends have said he is a jerk who drives off everyone. The door leading to the garage is broken. The bar is supposedly open but almost everywhere you go you just stand there because no one is there. Lots of "Let me see if I can find someone". The one bright note is the hotel chef who has been there since they opened is still there. They used to have what they called a "Cowgirl Ribeye". It was the best steak I ever had in a hotel(I have been to 14 Ritz Carltons among other places). I hope he can last until they replace this terrible manager and stop using COVID as an excuse for ineptitude. Marriott, Marriott Where Are You?

Very nice place, great location to everything in "up town normal" and ISU. The employees are their biggest asset. Every last person we interacted with was very nice, professional and made it a point to see how we where doing and if we needed anything. May not be the cheapest hotel in the area, but by far the best value!

Somewhat expensive no free wifi no free breakfast either. It took 4 attempts to even get their attention to make a reservation. However with all that said the building is well maintained and the rooms are excellent.

The best hotel for the business traveler in Bloomington. Amazing front desk staff. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home. Incredibly clean well maintained property. Rooms are spotless. The concierge lounge is excellent. The hotel is located downtown near many restaurants and bars. Great place to stay. Highly recommended!

Paying attention to every little detail!! April and her staff did an amazing job serving all our guest dinner...very courteous and attentive to all their needs. And the food....wow!! So many compliments on how delicious the food was...Big thank you to their amazing chef!! Could go on and on ... From the front desk, bartenders to the valet employees ... Front desk guy was rude. Seemed annoyed I was even there. Charged me for parking without telling me there was a charge, but the guy Jeremy at the front desk seemed like I was a bother even asking where parking was. Then the cleaning people came to my door twice after saying I didn t need house keeping. I was checking out that day...guess they wanted me out ASAP!! Will NEVER stay again!

Hotel is nice and updated however the concierge lounge is the worst I have ever experienced. The computer is like using dial up, the snacks are the most basic and no options, the hot snacks are so limited that 30 mins in the cheese was completely gone. I like the room and internet tv option but the lounge is abysmal.

Cannot speak about the hotel side of things other than the bar/restaurant area. Place was super gorgeous for the winter and offered Christmas time vibes. However, my card got copied somehow throughout my two hour study session and was later tracked down with $350 being spent. Background checks on employees for fraud? Manager assisted with help, Ryan is a nice guy. Don't trust anyone else there, personally.

Company party for Heritage FS. Good food, wonderful staff, clean and nicely appointed rooms. Loved the shower in our room. The rain shower head felt wonderful. Nice and hot too! Fantastic dining is close by too if you want. Liked the pool area, we did not use it. Plan on a return trip in the summer.

I never experienced bed bugs at a hotel until this one. I recieved a double bed room. I wanted to sleep in the bed that was further from the door but couldn't bc the bed didn't have the proper bedding on it. So I was forced to sleep in the bed closest to door that bed squeaked at every movement so you can tell the bed was worn out. I went to sleep, woke up the next morning with little tiny bed bugs bites all over my body. Ouch and ugh

Great service, nice looking interiors. The Parking ramp connects directly to level 2 via a skyway which makes things very convenient. The dining area seems pretty standard and selection of scotch is limited/run out. Pretty good overall for the price.

The room service is very interesting- I recieved my meal in a box. The fire alarm "apparently" went off- could not hear it on the 7th floor. We were "apparently" evacuated and we
" apparently" could return to our room. Communication regarding the 3am alarm was HORRIBLE. However, the room and location were great.

Great

My vehicle's battery had died while in the parking garage for a few days. I wasn't even a guest and the front desk called maintenance who dropped what he was doing to help me out. I could not be more grateful for what they did for me. They had a portable jump kit, but it didn't have enough power to start my truck, so he brought his own vehicle over and jumped with that. A big THANK YOU to the evening staff working last night (Jan 8, 2019).
