It smells nice and is a very visually pleasing place.

Following over 10 hours of travel, I arrived at this hotel at 2:30 am expecting my late arrival reservation to be ready and available. I waited at the front desk for almost 1.5 hours for the attendant to return from break. On-site security had no ability to contact the only on-site Marriott staff?! No other hotel staff could be tracked by Marriott corporate customer service. I have now spent over a week and countless hours on the phone, and Marriott has still not generated a fair response. Being an issue revolving around an approx. $125 discrepancy, it blows my mind that Marriott did not just fully comp the room. Instead the organization has now invested more than that through management salaries dancing around accountability for the issue, effectively lost my future business, and are also going to have this review floating around out there. Too many large corporations in America have lost sight of simple approaches to excellent customer service.... it really does come at a small cost Marriott.

10/02/17 @ 5:07pm - No Jen, the issue is still pending. That is correct however; I have been in contact with numerous staff and mgt personnel, to no avail. The offer was to comp ONLY the first night (which should be a given) as for all practical purposes I did not have my head on a pillow that evening. However, even that has still not happened......

We had my sister s bachelorette party in Normal and stayed at the Marriott. What an awesome hotel! Great customer service, huge rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, very clean and beautifully designed. Close to everything and we got upgraded for free to a large suite! Would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a great stay.

Getting a little run down and staff was way off their "A" game when compared to previous stays.

Bloomington - Normal Marriott was a nice hotel with a nice banquet area. I loved the service staff. Rooms were clean and the hotel was overall very nice.

Surprisingly the experience of attending an event at the Marriott was good, except having to pay for parking.

I don't understand these places. They're nice rooms, sure, but they charge you for almost any little thing they can while they're already more than double the cost of a place that is not much worse.

I stayed here after spending a night at Hyatt Place across from this Marriott hotel.

To me, comparing the hotel rooms only, I prefer the Hyatt to this hotel. It looks more modern and chic. There's also a couch at Hyatt as well.

I deduct one star from the WiFi that's it's not free unless you are Marriott reward member and have to book with the hotel directly. And the log in for WiFi is also confusing as it only shows paid packages that will be deducted out later when check out and the speed is so so around 2 Mbps ish.

The restaurant and bar here provide good food but I ordered the same dish but tasted very different on a different day (which you can see from the chicken wings attached photos)

Great place to host a professional event. Not a bad lunch either!

Sister in law signed a contract that after the reception the bar would stay open until 1 am. The hotel refused to honor the contract and the crowd of nearly 100 guests had to take their "thirst" to a bar up the street.

The room was comfortable and clean as always, and the staff was pleasant and helpful!

The rooms are nice and the TV had Netflix. However the front desk lady was not very competent. She could not find our reservation until I gave her the confirmation email.

Skip it. You don t have time to read all of my reasons. Just skip it and go across the street instead.

I enjoyed my conference at the conference center. The workshop rooms were set up nicely and the technology worked well. Our morning continental breakfast and our lunch were nice. The staff throughout the hotel were kind and willing to help out. I would gladly attend another conference here.

Staff is very attentive. Staff looks to meet the needs of customers as soon as rewuested, or even to anticipate the needs. Concierge lounge is available to elite members, early and late. Hotel is in the center of Normal, with good walking areas around. Access to many good restaurants.

The room was fine but the service at the lobby bar was terrible

Nice clean rooms, conference center was well designed and staff friendly. The meal provided during our conference was delicious and the staff was very attentive.

Train noise was unbearable throughout whole town. Would not recommend.

I stayed here while on a business trip. The room was very nice and clean. To my surprise, there was a microwave and a mini fridge in the room. This hotel has all of the amenities of a hotel in Vegas. The hotel staff was super accommodating. I felt comfortable enough to fall asleep easily which is very rare for me when sleeping away from home. There are plenty places to eat nearby that is in walking distance and each place I ate the food was really good. I highly recommend this hotel if you have to stay in the area.

This Marriott hotel location is new and really great, still affordable, but be careful when you make your reservation and set your expectations accordingly. If not too busy they are okay, but last weekend the staff left the impression they couldn't perform well with large venues.

We stayed for three days, but the hotel was so busy that they didn't have time to fix our room, even after specifically requesting it a few times. They only came to pick up the garbage and provide new towels. Also, the hotel had hard time supplying drinking water after the city had done some work on the supply pipes.

The local diner, Jesse's Grill, wasn't ready to accommodate the large number of people. There was 20-30 minutes wait time and not enough staff to handle order as most of the time half of the diner was closed.

I've been here multiple time and always left happy, but this time I was really disappointed.

Had some time to kill for a train, so I had a couple drinks at the Bloomington-Normal Mariott and was pleased with the environment. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I stop in once in a great blue moon (once or twice a year, at best)between trains and am always happy with my visit. Based on this, I would choose them for an overnight stay if I were ever in need.

I think I've gotten to know every inch of this place. The rooms are pretty much your uniform Marriott room. Jessie's Bar & Grill is decent, the bar is nice (great place to work with the big flat screen TV). Staff gets to know you, centrally located in downtown Normal with a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. Pool is a bit small but can't really complain. Workout room is ample.

My only real gripe - $8 for parking in Normal. Really? Used to be free.

Great location. Great employees, especially, Tyler at the front desk. My mattress was terrible, and I didn't sleep all night.

Nice rooms, very pretty hotel, but parking is a huge hassle. Its supposed to be free with your room, however the parking machines NEVER seemed to recognize the pass. I'm not sure it's worth it.

Was here for a 2 day conference/ exhibition. Booked 2 rooms which were modern and clean. Problem was waking up with a full day of on-site activities and there was no hot water. Called the desk and was told they were working on it. By the time I had to go down to the conference center, nothing but cold water. Everyone at the conference had the same issue. Shame on Marriott because no one showed any concern, no one offered any type of relief, no one asked about it at check out. Very disappointing.

I am here for a nursing conference and staff was very friendly and accomadating. I woke up and wanted a cup of coffee with French Vanilla creamer. I went to the very professional lady at the front desk who greeted me with a smile at 4:00 A.M. I explained that I was in search of creamer and she went above and beyond to go look for some for me. Maybe not a big deal to some but I was in pain and I really wanted some good coffee. The customer service was awesome. I realized she was pregnant and I felt bad for asking her. I just want to thank her for making my morning a little bit better :) . She is a keeper! Sometimes the little touches and things are the most important to people. I will be a return customer!

There for work related banquet. Bar was understaffed/understocked, food wss OK. Despite being given counts well ahead of time, some at the neighbouring table never actually got their food because the hotel ran out. Atmosphere was quiet and professional and staff was friendly and helpful.

Good hotel that reminds me of a hotel in a bigger city. Nice lobby and rooms.
