There is nothing like the Southport, absolutely the best, if your having a bad day , go there, if your having a good day celebrate there!!!!!!

Catfish was fishy. Coleslaw bitter. I used to count on this place for fresh fish.

One of the best local bars in Fort Lauderdale. Lived in Lauderdale for the first 18 years of my life and off an on since. Now in Miami. Southport is where anyone who wants decent seafood and wings for under $10 goes. They really are only good at their classic raw bar. Raw clams, oysters and old bay shrimp are a must. Best clam chowder in all of South Florida!

Fresh clams and oysters. Feels like a summer BBQ getting grilled items on a sunny day. Get the grilled oysters!

Been coming here since 2007 I like the oyster happy hour Old Bay peel and eat shrimp most of all they will sell a quart of conch chowder to go!

Great atmosphere, outdoor seating, delicious food and outstanding friendly service. Good prices. Dog friendly. Bimini bread is mouth watering.

Great food, and great atmosphere, employees very good as well. Been going there for 20 years and have never once had a bad experience.

Good cheap eats, beer and wine. Great place to go for some informal food. Had some live music outside too.

Southern style seafood done right.
By boat usually has a slip or two free, and you don't have to jockey for impossible parking in the tiny lot. Often better to park off site and walk here.

Also nearby Kelly's Landing which a lot of yankees like more due to the northern style twist on the food at Kelly's.

Food has always been hot, refills on drinks attentive, and orders have been spot on with no mistakes since I've been coming here. I like the fried Oyster Basket, Gulf Shrimp, the Mahi & Grouper sandwiches and pretty much everything on the menu.

It's a no-frills, fish camp style place that smells like fish and spilled beer, with a mix of waitresses from young beauties to ole mama-Jamas that have seen it all and heard more. Always hella-busy, so dont' expect to be treated like a senator even if you do motor up in daddy's Van Dutch luxury yacht.

The crowd can get heavy, making parking like Christmas mall shopping and wait times drag with nowhere to sit, and the music might be a little loud, but it's still one of my favorite watering holes around.

I have been going to SP for 40 years, back when they had video games and no outdoor seating, and before the custom ceiling tiles...I would have given it a 5 for nostalgia, but that wouldnt help readers. The food is better than its ever been, the crowd is more diverse too. Lots of character...it's classic ft Lauderdale. NewEngland clam chowder, conch fritters, steamed clams are a few of my standards.

Service was a no stars, food was two stars. Over cooked the scallops, over cooked the fish, under cooked the poppers. Server didn't know anything about the menu, didn't come back to ask if we wanted more drinks or to see how the food was.

Great heritage, excellent outdoor view of the docks, and excellent food with great options. Try to go during low traffic times to avoid an occasional long serve time.

Darren was the best server I have had in a looooooonnnnnggggg time... He made me feel very comfortable since everything me and my date ordered was to spicy for me, he went and had some garlic butter shrimp made for me which were GREAT!!!

Over priced for seafood especially the raw bar n still dirty. Needs a good cleaning some covers for the dirty dish cart supplies need top be enclosed. That may help

Always wonderful. The food is great and the atmosphere is really relaxed. Everyone is always kind and helpful. The happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-7 is perfect for drink and appetizer discounts. If you sit outside you get a wonderful view.

The food was good the beer was cold, and the service was average.

The best seaford in FL, grilled oysters of all kinds and we order by the dozens. Great beer and not a bad view of the inter coastal. I always stop by when in town.

And you can dine or have a beverage on the water.

Been going there for 20 years. Decent food, good service. A real joint of a place. It pricey for some of the food for what it is. But this is a real Ft. Lauderdale joint to go to, especially if you or someone is visiting.

UPDATE: Hope they're doing well at Southport, can't wait to go back when this Covid-19 thing is under control.

Update: not very good mask compliance. It's science not politics. C'mon you're in the food business. Use your head for more than a hatrack.

A great place to have a casual meal, and if you are pstient, you can get a table on the water. The food is flavorful, service is as expected, and they are all friedly. Recommended place.

Need better customer service food was okay not as good as it used to be, but I have been going there since Im 21 so Im going stop now that I'm 41.

Not bad, the place is a waterfront property, pretty chill and relaxing. I had a couple of beers on tap, nothing really extraordinary. Our waiter was pretty cold and seem to be having a bad day or something.

Amazing spot. Parking was an issue but food was good. Inside staff was unpleasant so we moved outside and enjoyed water view, food and music. Very relaxing

All of the food was amazing! The conch fritters and the dolphin fish was especially good.

Though it was busy when me and my aunt arrived, it was an amazing atmosphere. She's not a fan of seafood and I am , and it was a beautiful night to sit on the water. I got a dolphin burger blackened, and mmmmmmmmmm was is ever so delicious and fresh. Definitely WILL be returning.

I go here all the time. Menu is lack luster, fried shrimp are frozen shrimp. The oysters are good, but not shucked to well...service is Good to fair depending on who you are with......They need new menu items. Great place for a few beers and few dozen raw oysters.

Food was great though just a tad on the salty side. Given that it's seafood I don't make a big deal of it. Everything tasted fresh not frozen. Definitely a staple for when I'm in the area. We went twice during our visit while in Weston. Oh, bring your own straws as they don't have any.

Too long to wait. We were said, that only 15 min, but in fact 45 min!!! Food- guys are you kidding? Hire more people! Please!

I am always amazed that this place is so busy. But I probably shouldn't be. The food and service is good. I recently went with my girlfriend and we had the peel and eat shrimp, fish dip and onion rings. Not the healthiest, but definitely delicious.

Fantastic experience with food, good and fast attention

I love this place. This is my go-to raw bar. Last night I had planned on trying a different place but in the last minute changed my mind because of how good this place is. I'm all about new places but sometimes you gotta run with the old "if it's not broke, don't fix it" mentality. 100% recommend.

As a go to eatery in our list i was pretty dossapointed in the treatment we recieved from the outside hostes on 9/5 6:30pm. Young brunette, short hair, seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Maybe she doesnt want to be a hostess? As the face of the restaurant being the first one interacts with it sure left a sour taste in all of us. Sets a bad tone for the rest of the meal. We left after i brought up the treatment we were all feeling to just get a bad face in return. We left.

Great food and friendly staff. Live finding a place where the locals come for food and drinks. Heather was very friendly and gave us the lowdown and history of SRB.
