There is a dinghy dock for boats at anchor. Cost is $10 to land, and you can put it towards food.

*I need to amend my previous review based on tonight's experience. Food was terrible and the service was slow. The mussels must have been bad because I feel very sick now. Bread and fries were stale. Catfish was tasteless. Used to go here all the time, but now I have to decide if I'll ever go back.*

Previous review: Raw Bar may be Fort Lauderdale's best kept secret. This is by far the best local seafood joint in town. Prices are reasonable, service is quick. Crowd is almost all locals. They only serve beer and wine here, so go to a bar after. This places though is family friendly as well as the perfect spot for going out with your buddies.

The oyster shucker was sweating in my oysters and the bartender tried to give me that tray " after being told what was happening "

Southport Raw Bar was recommended by a friend back home and it didn t disappoint! Smoked fish dip, Oysters Southport, raw oysters, conch fritters, and the bacon cheeseburger were all phenomenal! What we loved the most was the local vibe.

Great place to go with friends. Very busy. Seemed a little disorganized, but the service was very nice and the staff was friendly. Will go back again.

Classic, old school spot. No frills.. Sit in patio. Go in for a beer n appetizer either before or after dinner. Simple, local food. Don't expect too much from it. Just enjoy it for what it is. Local hangout.

Wow. Its not often one can find the perfect blend of sassy hometown service and delicious eats . Highly recommend the clam chowder and the jalepeno bites. The service was so fast I was literally savoring the salty sweet goodness of the clam chowder before I had a chance to check my Twitter feed. As for the jalepeno bites, these things are The Real Deal . None of this cheddar cheese blend BS that had recently overwhelmed the jalepeno market, oh contraire; perfectly cooked through jalepeno with a heavenly cream cheese mixture in the middle all covered by a classic seafood batter.

How do you know this place is for winners only? We're talking ALL AGES are happy. I saw a sad child literally burst into a smile after his first bite of fried shrimp, I saw an elderly couple hold hands and smile over a basket of fritters, I saw God in this Southport Raw Bar and Restaurant.

10/10 would recommend

I've been going to this restaurant since 1993 and love it... the food and service are great and the menu is consistent.. I highly recommend the place you will not be dissatisfied...

Delicious! Fresh, simple, no frills seafood with friendly service! Fresh and delicious raw clams and oysters, fried oysters, and fried shrimp. (only complaint is I wish they would batter fry instead of breading their fried shrimp.). Definitely recommend this place though, if you're up for some fresh and simple seafood and you're around the Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale area!

Great food, Great atmosphere, local vibe. We were looking for something with great raw bar options but could also please those in our group who are less adventurous. We'll definitely be back!

Always good food. This time we had ousters on the half shell. They were delicious and much larger than most places around. Been going there for years and will continue for many years to come.

Casual doesn t describe it adequately. It has the ambiance of a great 80 s John candy movie. Flip flops, not flats. T-shirt, not a tux. No, you don t want to sit inside.

Know this place for more than......years and seen like was yesterday. Nice atmosphere, delicious appetizers like oysters,old Bay shrimp and so many others and the best thing, is located on the water , so a very nice place to go.

Service was a little slow tonight because they were busy, and where they set us there was a very loud customer

I enjoyed the ambiance. But the waitresses were rude and the hostess was rude when we asked for specific seating. I got the Old Bay steamed shrimp which was OK. The Bimini bread was amazing. I may try going on a non weekend to see if the service is a little better.

Great conch fritters, conch chowder, and the freshest fried oysters. Nice marina view on back porch. Good place to relax and chill.

Classic old Florida seafood bar. All the food we had was pretty good and the service was ok too. Worth a look if you are in the area and want to eat seafood.

Every Time I stop in to Ft Lauderdale I make sure I end up here at Southport Raw Bar!! Best Peel and Eat shrimp in town, Bimini Bread is a must, blackened Mahi is FIRE and anything from the outside grill is amazing!! the service is always on point. the outside seating is the best with a nice view on the water, live music every time I am there. I look forward to the next time I am in Ft. Lauderdale

This is the best place to go for fresh oysters in all of Fort Lauderdale. The staff is friendly, and you can show up in your boat.

Awesome date night!
While taking a weekend vacation to escape chilly St. Louis, my wife and I were looking for a unique date night. We certainly found that at Chef Jean Pierre's! Taking a cab directly from the airport, we arrived a few minutes late but were made to fell extremely welcome. We were greeted with enthusiasm and the wonderful smells of bouillabaisse!...

Incredible seafood, baked clams... you might as well order 4 plates (for yourself!) because you will love the thank much!

Food was good. Service was not as good though. Kitchen was extremely slow and disorganized. My food came out in reasonable time but I had ate my food and my wife's food came out about 10-15 mins after I was done. Our drinks were empty for about 10 mins before anybody came by.

Not so friendly, I know they're busy, but no reason to slight the customer.

This restaurant is our main reason to visit Miami area. We love it. It is the best for fresh seafood in Ft Lauderdale.

I m always on a quest for great oysters, other than raw. Nothing wrong with raw, I just like to mix it up a bit. As my great friend of 35 years and I were debating where to find my wonderful treasures, along with her favorites, which are steamed clams and shrimp... she Googled Southport Raw Bar. I immediately remembered it from my youth and told her to look no more. I wanted to see if it was just another fond memory that was now out of date.

To my wonderful surprise, it was just as wonderful as in the old days ! Even better! The restaurant was rustic , and very well kept. The live music was a breath of fresh air and just what my day needed!



I just moved back to Broward and I m so thrilled with rediscovering this little Gem of a place where you can just come as you are, kick back and relax, while listening to some good music, enjoying good friends and great south FLA food with a touch of N Orleans and other local Flare.

Relaxing outdoors area

This is a local hang out. There is usually live music in the evening. An outdoor kitchen and an inside kitchen keep delicious food coming your way. We have had Key Lime pie all over the state of Florida and hands down they make one so good you'll lay down and scream.

Dont let the look of the place fool you, could use an update to the decor but the food was top notch delicious

My partner and I went here last night and everything was on point! Great atmosphere! Great view outside. Our waitress, Kerry, was on top of everything! We never went without anything. A breath of fresh air from most of the waitresses we come in contact with. The food was on point. We had some beers, oysters, boiled shrimp, and mahi tacos. There isnt one bad thing I can say about Southport! Good job, everyone!

Love to enjoy drinks and food on the patio. A must stop place each visit to Fort Lauderdale.

The food here was absolutely disgusting. For this to be a seafood restaurant on the Atlantic Ocean, why are they serving frozen shrimp and not fresh shrimp. The catfish taste like it was frozen out of the box as well. The grill was down so they serve frozen burgers to the kids. I will not recommend this place to anyone especially tourist.
