The atmosphere at this place is very welcoming! Great staff! The oysters were really tasty and the chef specials were truly chef specials. Fantastic food and lovely service. Bottom line________ eat here for an enjoyable meal all the way around!

My favorite oyster place in south Florida. It s cozy, friendly and unpretentious. Great staff that have been there forever and serve up consistently good grilled oysters (my favourite), fish and chips, and salt and pepper peel and eat shrimp. Love the raw oysters too. Burgers are great! It also has a good amount of dock space for us boaters. Been coming here for years and recommended all my friends. Don t let the looks of the place fool you. It s dumpy, dingy, and I love it just they way it is! You ll like the food and atmosphere as much as the crusty patrons that frequent this fun spot. And they have live music on the weekends. What more can you ask for?

The location is wonderful there outdoor seating is right by the water the food is magnificent and the service is great!

If you're in Fort Lauderdale and want seafood at reasonable prices this is the place to go

Over priced. The happy hour menue was only $2 off their regular prices. Reg 9.95 wings 14.95 claims. Bottle of Miller lite $4 and change. Happy hour draft $3.95. We ended up ordering the claim chowder, conch fritters and fried seafood basket with claims shimp and scallops. Everything was ok. Nothing to rave about or recommend. Service also could have been better. If i wouldnt of asked about the happy hour specials or dailey specials i would of never been told

I found out about this place on a tip from a local. I had the grilled oysters and smoked fish dip. Both were fresh and delicious! The service was excellent! Also the live island music made the atmosphere very relaxing.

Everything was delish...first time trying hot lips, grilled Oysters, Bimini bread, and Conch Chowder. My Dad is really picky when it comes to food and he really liked everything even asked if we could come back...which if you know him that says a lot!

Shrimp tacos are good but the oysters service was good

If you looking for great clam chowder this is the place. Very good food.

Great fresh fried seafood. Sitting out on the porch overlooking the canal is really chill. Live music on occasion.

Food is constantly great, try the old Bay shrimp. Soups wonderful. Tali the bartender is a hoot.

Nice hideaway for drinks and casual food, I'll go again.

30+ years this place is a staple for any S FL trip... if you are really lucky the will have buffalo shrimp...

go for the happy hour specials and sit on the terrace. zero decor, but who cares? oysters and clams by the pound! this is where local restaurant people go to relax.

Southport was wonderful. We have not been there in a good while but the atmosphere is still great, the outdoor seating by the water, the music. It was great, and the food perfect.

The manager is rude and obnoxious. The food is mediocre. They give you a half a cup of coffee. Our first waitress was wonderful and the waitress who took over for her was horrible. I definitely would not eat there again.

This is exactly what you want when looking for seafood on the water.

What a great spot for chilling out in FL while not breaking the wallet with a family of four!

Great views, food over delivers. Try the outdoor grill when the weather is nice. Great corkage fee at $5, bring your special bottle and enjoy the seafood

great atmosphere and excellent food. unfortunately our waitress tried to scam us by not giving us happy hour prices during happy hour. went there for happy hour as they realy do have a great happy hour. seated outside with great weather. ordered the dozen oysters and old bay shrimp both happy hour items. bill comes and they are full priced. i show her. she comes back and adjusts the oysters but not the bay shrimp. i show hee again that the bay shrimp is still at full price. she says ..oh sorry i usually work on Saturdays ans normally there is no happy hour.hmmmm. honest mistake i suppose?

Let me start by saying the food is delicious! Old bay shrimp and fish dip were very good. Mahi tacos were overflowing, though I was not impressed by the taste. The service was great, and the kitchen was super fast in getting the food out! It was very impressive for how busy they were. The inside of the restaurant will deter you from wanting to eat, as it is very old and somewhat run down with bland colors and dirty looking walls. BUT, I highly recommend sitting outside on the patio! The set up is great with picnic tables and fans galor! (Very important for SouthFL) The prices are some of the best I've ever seen for the area, food, and portions! Highly recommend!!!!!

We were in town for vacation and visited the Raw Bar for dinner. We had an amazing evening. The food was delicious but the best part of the evening was the service! Our waitress, Dominique was by far the best service we have had in a long time! She was ver attentive, polite and helpful. We never had to look for her she was always right there to see what else we needed. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and Dominique. I would wait longer just to get her as your waitress.

The place is a dive. They got slammed when we got there and clearly were not prepared for it. We had to bus our own table and the waitress told us she would be right with us. It was about 15 minutes before we signaled the hostess who then proceeded to be our waitress despite not being trained for it. She did a good job. The food was good to very good. If the wait hadn't been so long and we didn't have to bus our own table they would have gotten another star.

25 years since I have been here. Thankfully it hasn't changed a bit!

Amazing!!! Pick and peel old bay shrimp were so good we ordered a second round. Cooked perfect... shrimp were sweet and succulent and swimming in a to die for old bay butter sauce. Steamed clams and raw oysters were fresh. Service quick and attentive. Highly recommend for a great meal wether just off the beach or anytime you are craving seafood!! Thank you for a great meal!

We always come here. They have fresh fish, the service is always great and if you sit outside you have the water view. We come here a lot and love it!

Simply the best in town. The food is about as good as it gets for raw seafood at a good price. Friendly service, great views, and always something tasty available that's new and fresh.

Had some friends from out of town that went there to eat and they said it was the best food that had the few days it had been in Florida

Service was good all with a smile. Food was great to. Unfortunately the cole slaw was not prepared well this time. Conch fritters were great and so was the dolphin rueben. Don't like oysters but the table next to ours loved theirs.

Southport raw bar is one of the last old school fort Lauderdale restaurants. Privately owned and operated you may not know it but the owner may be standing next to you . If you like to avoid chains like I do here's your chance. Waterfront view great south florida food and friendly staff really make this place stand out.
Locals love it here so you will experience the flavor. I love to bring out of town guests to this place it never fails to impress. Prices are fair food is good and fresh I can't recommend any place to enjoy food drinks and atmosphere more. One more thing don't go without trying the old bay shrimp...buy two cuz the first one tastes like another.

If you want the best seafood and raw bar in Ft. Lauderdale then come here! Great seating by the water.

Small whole in the wall place, very casual dining ... bar only serves beer and wine. Food was slow to come out, but good and fresh! Limited parking in front, also they have a kitchen indoors and grill outdoor as well.

Who is looking for raw oysters. they were not available. Too bad but the rest was more than ok.

Very good location! By the water, the indicator is that on Saturday there was a turn on the tables. We decided to sit on the bar, the kitchen worked quickly and very tasty. It is necessary to return.

I've been going to Southport since it opened in the early 70s. It was our favorite hangout for decades. But the past few years I'm sad to say it has become just another tourist hotspot, crowded and overpriced.

Grilled oysters are great as well as the burgers. Only drawback is that beer was not as cold as I would have liked.

Enjoyed our evening here. Food was excellent and drinks were cold. Service was great along with some nice live music. Had some grilled garlic oysters. They were small but tasty.

Southport was great...as always! We went by boat and had plenty of room to dock. Our server came right up and told us to choose anywhere to sit. We sat outside and even though it was hot out, their outside fans kept us cool. Waters came right away, followed closely by our drink orders. There was no delay in service. I love how they grill everything outside and bring it immediately to your table. You know it's not sitting under a heat lamp somewhere. The food selection on their menu is always good. I had a perfectly grilled burger this time but have had their seafood in the past and its always fresh and tasty. Food prices are reasonable. I love the casual atmosphere here. Super chill. A South Florida staple and we will continue to go back time and time again. Love Southport!

Conch chowder is amazing! Call ahead it can get busy. Worth the wait.

Always busy and service is mediocre at best because of it. Dine out back for a nice view and great live music.

I don't know how this place could get 4.4 Stars...

We ordered "Fried Seafood Basket" where shrimps, clams and scallops were overfried, we even didn't feel the taste of it but we felt taste of old oil.
Garlic bred was not good too.
Also we ordered Beer Battered Fish and Chips with coleslaw. I never tried such bad coleslaw, fish had no taste at all, same taste of old oil here too. Only Fries was good!

And also I hope they will improve their service too...

Great casual atmosphere with good food. Had the cheddar jalepeno oysters and dolphin tacos. Awesome!

This place is ridiculously good, consistently. Must try a dozen of grilled oysters, this is what the place is famous for. Real good burgers, drinks, and really, everything else. One drawback - limited choice of alcohol, does not serve hard liquor or mixed cocktails, so some room for improvement there.

Food was good. Atmosphere excellent. The live music was awesome. Service on the other hand was not very good. Our server was all over the place, not paying attention, order was out of order and what was ready didnt get to us until we asked about it and by then it was cold. Had to wait for the check, went to ask for it and pay and were told to go back to the table " people dont pay up here" .. well, if he would have shown up at the table at some point!! Definitely a great raw bar, we just had a not so good server.

My husband & I met up with friends 7/13/2019 to celebrate a birthday and we had so much fun! Southport has been a long time favorite for fresh seafood & a casual atmosphere. Excellent service & the raw oysters were a hit - they were so fresh & HUGE!

Excellent spot for some great local seafood and drinks! Great happy hour as well
