Nice slides, good online summer price, and best wave pool in AZ!

It was a little out dated prices are outrageous kids had fun

Nice water park. Over priced real food. Not all slides in good/working condition. Wave pool is a favorite especially with rafts.

Close to the house & my boys Love it here. Season pass is the way to go to cool off for the summer.

What a great time and you don't need to be a kid to come here, but you might believe you are, for sure!!

Still hot. Get there as soon as posible to get the shady areas or bring lots of sun screen.

This is a decent place. The staff is good and the place is fun enough. Wave pool is excellent but no lazy river and it's pretty old.
Overall not a bad place

We attended a charity event here and the whole family had a blast. It's nice that they also have smaller slides for younger children.

It's not as big as some of the other water park in the area. Just a big big wave pool.

Aside from my mom getting injured and breaking her toe at the entrance and not one employee (ticket booth or security) flinching to see if she was ok, as we yelled she was falling and hurt herself. We somewhat enjoyed the park. This was our first and most likely last visit there.

We left after an hour. The staff were friendly about giving us our money back. We drove straight to sunsplash and spent the day there. My 4 year old couldn't ride much at big surf. The park is teeny tiny compared to sunsplash and microscopic compared wet and wild.

Boring! Everything was the same. Slides were faded. We left after an hour.

Not too many rides but still packs a good amount of fun with it's large wave pool. All around a relaxing experience.

Its a cool little place but not much places to sit outside and water in wave pool is really warm.

my very first time ,I don't know how to swim but put on a life jacket and went on a slide was scary but I was told by a lifeguard there would be someone waiting on the other side ,I enjoyed the day , A must do again

This water park is certainly nice to go to on a hot day, but most of rides as well as the pool could use some renovations. Also, they try to charge extra for quite a lot of things and that gets annoying

The wave pool is pretty exciting with a raft but it can get pretty congested and it's easy to lose it

I used to work food service here, and did not like it. The park doesn't have much to offer other than the wavepool. Sunsplash is a better offer.

Went to a day concert here. So much fun. Good music, cool water, strong drinks, fun slides.

Got it on a deal on groupon for 50th aniversary. If you find cheaper ticketsits worth it but you can see all 50 years of wear.

My wife and I enjoy going there. We just leave our belonging and do not worry about them while we are enjoying the rides. Very safe place and family friendly environment.

Fun in the sun and if your kids are older and need less looking after there is a bar that is nice and cool that looks out at the wave pool.

Went here with my family while we were visiting Arizona back in September. Beautiful park! The temperature of the water was PERFECT. It wasn't freezing cold like most places are, so it was easy to get in and out of the water without any discomfort. It's a smaller park, but it's well maintained and we loved our visit here!
The wave pool was probably our favorite feature though, even though the waves only came once every few minutes, it was still such a great experience (really, it goes back to it being the PERFECT temperature). I loved the little "rivers" that brought you down to the wave pool. On the hottest days, you wouldn't burn your feet because you can always walk in the water.

Best wave pool in az, slides are good and always the less crowded park of arizona.

We had a great time!! Hadn't been there in years and it was the kid's first time.

My whole fam love it. 5yr. Husband ane 2 adult kids. Its exciting and a lot less on ur wallet than other waterparks. Lots to do. Need to extend hrs. At least to 8 on saturdays fridays 11pm or even a midnight madness.

I had a great time. Just wish they didn't close the rides 15 minutes prior to closing time. I could've gotten a couple more rides in before then.

Great scenery. Poolside and water splash area depicts background of nature like trees and ocean-like of blue sky, white clouds and wide seashore front to make swimming area look look a huge beachfront.

Fun park but its falling apart. The steel beams holding up the slides are seriously rusted out. There was one electrical line that was hanging from one of the beams, only inches from electrocuting the entire platform. 2 of the 3 extreme slides hurt people so they are closed. The food was mediocre.
It wasnt a bad experience, in fact, I imagine the ever present fear of death made the park even more fun! Lol

Fix your park! It's a death trap waiting to happen. I will not be returning.

What a great place to bring my 12 and 10 year old kids. It's small enough to let them wander. The wave pool is AWESOME. They had a great time and the food wasn't as ridiculously expensive as I thought... still overpriced though. I definitely recommend as a place to bring bored kids during the summer.

This is an oasis. The lines weren't too long and the rates are more than fair. A great place to take the family

Lots of fun! They hosted surfing with Nixon and it was awesome. The only con is make sure you have sandals or be prepared to wear your shoes because all of the ground is extremely hot.

Fun place to hang on a hot day. They need to do simple improvements like hang a sign at Bora Bora bay pool to tell people not to lean on wall otherwise lifeguards keep yelling at people every 5 minutes. They should indicate there are 3 separate lines for the Hurricane slides and Torando twister so you dont get stuck behind people on the stairs waiting with a tube to ride the Black hole.

This is a pretty good place for family fun. They have a large wave pool and several slides and a lazy river. There are changing rooms and places to get food -- fast food type things. There is a flea market in the parking lot during the winter months.

Great place .. have stuff to do for young, old and in between!!Well done!

The oldest water park is the best overall park. Check Groupon for discounted tickets before you go. The entry fee for other water parks in the area are much more expensive. Sure they have everything new, but there is plenty for everybody at Big Surf. I'm nostalgic though, I miss the sandy beach...The best deal for snacks is the ice cream cones. The buying food at the park is expensive. Be sure and go to the web site to check the swim-boggie board-surf times. Also what you are allowed to bring in. FYI- The last hour is for surfing-so slides are the option then. We all had a good time, the staff are pleasant and it is run well.

Bought the season pass for only 35 bucks. Well worth it, we go about 3 to 4 times a month. Needed for the summer! Kids love it

Our first visit to big surf and we loved it. I enjoyed the different areas where it was catering to a certain age catagory. The plash pad was cute. The rainbow slides were my 4 year olds favorite. All the other slides my 9 year old enjoyed. The pizza was good as well.

Great on Friday evenings, open late and not to crowded.

Fun for toddlers to adults. Slides, a splash area, and a large wave pool. Lockers available to rent.

From the Midwest where some of the largest amount of water parks are in the US. This park just needs some TLC and maybe some additions

It can get real busy here. Got here shortly after opening and was able to ride all the slides several times before it picked up!

Was just there Sunday 3rd. All i can say is they only get 1star due to the fact I given free tickets. Every negative review that I read before I went ..WOW.. All were right on spot!!! Its been exactly 15yrs since I have been there and NOTHING has changed nor been upgraded, repainted or cleaned up..shame on Big Surf, WHERE'S ALL THE MONEY from the overpriced,on everything, going to??? What a disappointment BS is.. rather pay Few bucks more for sure at SunSplash or Wet&Wild. BS.... you have less than a year to improve, so please act on all your negative reviews to better the fun for ppl next summer!! The grounds & bathrooms were so nasty!!!

My family and I enjoyed one season at the Surf Park. My child loves it, I like to go when it's not many people because it can be overwhelming sometimes. I wish I could bring my own food because I eat healthy but the food choices are poor, mostly unhealthy.
It is however a unique place and nothing beats it in the heat.

Was able to go here in the spring for a dog show. The wave pool was completely drained and you could go and look around in it. It was really cool to see it drained and the park so empty for once

BEWARE: The pool is not that clean and lifeguards are a joke. You get what you pay for. This was the cheaper of the waterparks in the area. The wave pool is a joke. Every 5 minutes it will do a big wave then the rest has these small waves. All wave pools I have been to has surges of waves and gives you a warning they are about to come. Besides the pool there are only slides, there are no areas that you can just relax and enjoy the water. And the big reason I gave such a low rating is there was poop floating in the pool. I told the life guard and they did nothing.

Went for band splash and was disappointed how some things were handled. We had to discard most belongings at the gate for security, including sun screen. Now safety is very important, but that meant hundreds of people had no sun protection More

We have been here a few times and have always enjoyed ourselves and the atmosphere. However, yesterday changed my entire outlook on the place. A situation occurred where my family was targeted in a situation and law enforcement was called. Although I agree with protocol of investigating the situation the way it was handled was entirely degrading. Management most definitely approached this situation entirely wrong with embarrassment and lack of respect towards my family making a scene and traumatizing my children. On top of this all as we were released without any evidence or probable cause of the situation I was told my family and I couldn't come back for a year. Mind you this is without any evidence of allegations made. A happy fun day with my family turned into a nightmare, embarrassment and trauma. I feel things could have been handled by management in a different way where my family wasn't the center of attention. I will never forget this day and wish things could have been handled differently.
